Just went to Fugazzis for dinner with my husband and it has gone downhill with quality of ingredients. I ordered their taco appetizer with fried halibut and the fish was over breaded and tasted like it was under a lamp for hours. So tough I couldn't finish it. The pasta had frozen spinach in it and was "eh". It is obvious that they are trying to cut corners with their ingredients. Even the dipping sauce was off and not right! Nothing at the bottom and it was red for some reason. I also ordered a sangria and it wasn't nothing near what it used to be. So dissappointing. We will not be back. I have been coming to this place for a long time. Last night it was really busy, but my husband and I asked for seating in the Blue Room so we were seated right away. The service was okay not great. My husband ordered steak and I had the halibut. Our salad was Caesar but it was made with iceberg instead of romaine lettuce. My main problem with the salad is the dressing. You guys need to make an authentic dressing for your Caesar salad. Home made will always be better. Low calorie dressing tastes awful. Also, put your dinner salad in a bowl not on a plate. This allows your patrons to coat the salad with the dressing (provided it's not gross dressing). I will be coming back to your restaurant because there is so much about it that's great. It was a cool morning in Visalia and we were starving. Someone suggested Fugazzi's and the choice was immediate. The restaurant is on Main Street in Visalia's downtown area which can get congested quickly; luckily we were able to get a parking spot not very far from the restaurant. Upon our entry we were greeted by the staff and escorted to a table. There are also booths however they were nearly all full though we preferred a table. Less than four minutes after we were seated, our waitress stopped by the table to take our drink orders. She was very friendly and asked if we had any questions about the menu or items available. She quickly disappeared into the kitchen after taking our drink order. Soon after she returned with our iced teas and a tray of assorted breads and a sauce. The sauce was oil based with another ingredient I was unable to distinguish...but I can say it was delicious. The breads were good quality and fresh. Approximately ten minutes later our entrees were delivered from the kitchen. I had ordered the Avocado, Bacon and Turkey sandwich served on a croissant. To be honest, I was a little concerned the sandwich would be too small but they definitely load the turkey on! The bacon was good too but didn't really stand out as the turkey and avocado did...I think it may have been because the cut was a little too thin. Even the croissant was stellar, it was flaky, delicate and had a light sweetness to it that provided a nice balance against the slightly bitter lettuce. I had paired a Caesar salad with my ABT sandwich and the two complimented each other well. There was enough shredded parmesan cheese on top and the restaurant left the dressing on the side. I only used a little as it was very thick dressing. The croutons had a nice crunch to them and the Italian seasoning offered a small kick to the romaine greens. The service was above par as our drinks were always topped up and extra plates quickly removed. The food was solid but I have to say, the service is what will bring me back for a second visit. this is probably the best place i've been recommended to go to by someone i don't really know well [a real estate agent that was helping my mom buy a house]. i forgot what i ordered here, but i looooved the complimentary bread they give lol. i believe it was some type of garlic bread that came with marinara sauce. soooo good. the appearance of the place is really nice. i liked it. it makes you feel like you should've dressed up, but it's very casual there. i remember being pretty cold in there so don't forget to bring a jacket! read more

Only 2 stars because this is based on the chef's cooking and portion sizes. Three friends order the same pasta, 2 with shrimp (2 dollars more) and the other chicken (1 dollar more). Plates were brought out all at the same time, (that's a bonus)! All our salads that came with the lunch ( same type of salad) different portion sizes, all our pasta..different portion sizes..didnt we just pay 2 dollars more for shrimp to be added? So my pasta has only 4 shrimp? What? As well as my friend:( The friend that ordered chicken had so much of it with huge pieces that she was literally cutting her chicken into pieces, and she had so much pasta and salad it was practically over flowing off her plate. So, ya..Im disappointed. On to the good stuff..decor is very nice, atmosphere is very friendly. Our waitresses was so amazing, fast, and friendly! I loved that the children at our table were served before the adults, and that the adult orders came out at the same time. In Visalia on business, went in by myself. Hostess went to seat me at a reasonable table, manager rerouted her to the table by the restrooms and server station Since I was so close to the station, I thought I'd get some service. Apparently not. The only time the waiter was paying attention was when he came to see if I had put any money in the check folio 3 times in 5 minutes. I got the spinach striped ravioli - the sauce was tasty, the noodles hot, the cheese filling inside WAS STILL FROZEN. yikes. Oh, and the salad was even worse. read more

My review is based only on the bar/lounge. I haven't had the opportunity to try the food here yet. My boyfriend and I were walking by one afternoon and I happened to notice their large selection of flavored Vodka in the window. We stopped in for an afternoon treat. The bartender was very friendly and gave me suggestions on how to mix some of the more unique flavors. I ordered a cotton candy martini and headed to the lounge area. It was really elegantly decorated and very comfortable. A nice alternative to sitting at the bar in the middle of the day. When the bartender brought it over he let me know if I didn't like it he would make something else for me. 5 Stars for the excellent customer service. Outstanding bartender, a true master of his craft. It was a delicious drink, I don't think it tasted like cotton candy but I enjoyed it nonetheless. I was a bit surprised that there was no happy hour specials. $8 for a drink at 5pm during the week seems a bit pricey, especially in Visalia. I would recommend this place for a date. However, if you just want great drinks, great service and don't care much about ambiance there are other bars in the area that offer those things for less. read more

The food was just ok, I had the shrimp wrap. There were like six small dried shrimp, not plump and juicy. They filled the wrap with rice artichoke hearts, and zucchini. The wrap looked big but in fact was stuffed with rice and did not taste good. The price of this wrap was sixteen dollars. For six pieces of dried over cooked shrimp and a lot of rice, definitely overpriced. I've had wraps at taco trucks for five dollars that taste better than this. Alyssa (the bartender) was absolutely awesome. Great service, great drinks and very friendly. My friend had a Blackberry Whiskey Lemonade from their house drink menu and it was incredible, recommended to anyone who goes there. Couldn't ask for better service. I didn't eat while I was there, but I have been told, from the friends I was with, that anything that you order is incredible and you won't be disappointed. Their prices are also very fair for what you get. I tip accordingly to what I order, usually $1 per drink, but due to the excellent service from Alyssa, I couldn't not give her a better tip than the expected standard. Highly recommend this place and if you happen to order a drink or sit at the bar and have Alyssa as your bartender, you will be in for a treat. read more

We were made to feel welcome as we walked in the door, greeted by several servers and I believe the owner/ manager. The place was hopping for a Wednesday night - but they had their shizzle together and knew we were coming (multiple employees somehow were aware of our reservation, because I'm a VIP...er, not really). The server was cheerful and friendly; she mistimed (or more likely the kitchen) our apps but apologized and more than made up for it with her friendly demeanor and attentiveness to our table (and again the place was packed). I have only gone here a few times but was amused at the throngs of holiday cougars roaming the bar area; it was like it was a hidden, secret, federally protected rasty nasty cougar conservatory. Big game trophy cougar hunters should be flocking to this scene in lovely downtown visalia for a shot at this sometimes elusive, always over perfumed and over-makeup'ed specimen. Food was a three, service a five. Pasta was average to good (sauces were solid), soup was pretty salty but unique. Kids pizzas looked pretty solid in the quality department for a kids menu item. read more

The food was good but the service is lacking in many ways including with the owners. One of the items I ordered never showed up, half of my group had to wait over 20 mins to place a drink order, there was chewing gum in my menu. I made a reservation for 10 and it took a while for the group to show up, the owner kept walking by and looking at our table like she wanted up to leave. When confronted with the fact that they made us feel like we weren't wanted there, they got very angry and kicked us out. We come to Visalia twice a year for a meeting. This is a must every time we are in town. Usually come in for lunch but tonight had enough time to enjoy dinner. The dinner for two was superb. I've been here many times before without any problems/issues. Today I went because my sister was at the hospital across the street and we went for lunch. It was lunch hour so we expected there would be a wait or packed. They quickly sat us down and gave us menus. We had 5 people and the table they gave us was small/tight. It was already full/occupied tables around so I assumed that's all they had I am a petite person (size 0), I felt squished. I ordered tea, the sugar tray was out I asked for a refill for the regular (white) sugar. He just switched the tray with the other one and that one had only (1) one regular sugar. We then, placed our order but because of the lunch crowd he couldn't hear us clearly and continued to ask us, he didn't have a note pad but memorized it. I asked if I could place an order to be delivered to the hospital and pay all together and the waiter said no I would have to go outside to the side and order from there. As we we're waiting for our food a male waiter started cleaning the blinds with a feather duster right in front of us and opened and closed them to clean all around. I thought that should be done at night at closing or before you open the restaurant. Especially while I am about to eat. The food came out quickly but on the way out to our table he dropped the food and had to go back. Once we got the food it was good, no complaints really. I went to the restroom which was on the far side and that side of tables were completely empty, which if I would have known I would have asked to sit on that side where I was comfortable and not crowded and right next to tables. I felt like we were sitting too close and talking over each other. They refilled us once after two requests. Overall, I felt like they were in a hurry to get us in and out and not care about the customers satisfaction. They never asked us if we liked it or wanted anymore bread or how we liked it. It took over 15 min. to place an order for a drink and another 15 min. to get the drink! When we finally got our food and drinks I was never offered the opportunity to place another drink order because the check was placed in front of me. Ok, I get it you want us to leave. If the obvious pacing around the table by the owner and pointing of her finger in our direction didn't resonate, the slap of the check and pen did. When a member of our party confronted the owner regarding us feeling rushed. She acted coy and insincere, "no miss, we would never rush you out, here's free drink, but please move to the lounge to enjoy it." However, as my friend continued to express her concerns, the manager spilled, "while, you reversed a table for 10 and only 8 people showed up, and their is a party of 15 waiting to come in!" Finally the truth rears it's ugly head. The conversation continued, the owners husband came over and offended because he got called on on his terrible service shouted, "That's it! Get out!!" And pointed his finger in the direction of the door. We quietly left, I complemented him on the good food, but that could never make up for the shitty service. read more

I always enjoy the food at Fugazzis. The Jack Daniels steak is really good and the sides are tasty as well. I haven't had a dish here that I disliked. Desserts are good as well. The bread and oil dip they bring out is worth the visit. If they place is packed, service suffers but I don't know of many places where that doesn't happen. We came here with a large group, and it was later in the evening. Service was just okay, but the great fit and alcohol made up for it. I had the creme brulee cheesecake and a sweet wine. It was a great combination. Fugazzi's is known for their extensive martini menu, the birthday cake is one of my favorites. The entrees are all delicious, and it's difficult to single out a favorite one. This restaurant is on the noisy side, so keep that in mind if you're looking for a quiet place to dine. I will never order food from this restaurant again. When we ordered our dinner which is expensive we were told it came with a salad . When my friend got home with the order there was no salad. I called to ask why and was told by the person who took the order that the he didnt know the salad was extra with other meals but not that one we ordered and he didn't know when the order was placed . So we didn't get the salad we were told we would be getting. Now I know one salad can't cost a restaurant much to make and in order to keep the customer happy they should have included it with our meal and ate the cost to keep the customer happy since wevwere told we would get the salad .It was not our fault the person taking the order didnt know the policy of the restaurant they work for. So in will not recommend Fugazzis and will never order from them again. So they have lost customers over a dinner salad. They could have made this right but didn't even offer to do that. Every time I go to this restaurant I always enjoy their food- but I gave 3 stars because of their service. The waitresses I've had are aloof and don't engage in conversation with me. They gossip to each other in front of customers and they seem ditzy. I would prefer if their waitresses were nice and talkative, and asked me if I wanted anything from the bar or if I'd like to try any of their specials. I understand working in the food biz is stressful and fast-paced, but they really need to work on the employee-customer relationship. read more

Went tonight for a quiet nice dinner and a cocktail after work. This place was more noisy than a sports bar on Superbowl Sunday. I could not hear the hostess, the waiter, nor my dinner companion. We had ordered our drinks so I flagged down the hostess and advised her we just wanted the drinks and not dinner as it was too loud and obnoxious for our taste. She then suggested that there was another room that was quieter. We were seated in another room with music too loud. There was a kid across the table from us beating the table with his utensils. There is NO privacy at all in the restaurant. Our seats were uncomfortably close to other patrons. We did order and the food was just okay. The waiter was very pleasant. If you want a good quality meal with some nice quiet time and private conversation, this is NOT your place! Noisy calamity. I won't return. read more

My bf and I were visiting a few friends in the area and they took us here for lunch. The restaurant is spacious. We were seated immediately on this Saturday afternoon but there was a constant flow of customers in the restaurant. They start off by giving you bread and this dip that included sun-dried tomato paste and olive oil. It was delicious and we had at least 4 refills. I ordered a chicken salad with apples and it was a really big portion. It was well covered with dressing but that's how I like my salad. It was a good salad. The waitress was nice. At first, I felt that she was VERY thorough, asking us if we needed refills on our drinks when they were only 3/4 left. However, it just got annoying as our meal went on. Our lunch of friends catching up was constantly interrupted by the waitress. Having your waitress' attention is always good but this was just too much! I wouldn't mind coming back and eating the food again but I hope we don't get a waitress like the one we had this day. read more

Ambiance was great!... the wifey had Shrimp Louisiana which was pretty good. Grilled shrimp was perfectly cooked and pasta was al dente. I had the Chicken Tequila Fettuccine... was not a fan. Dessert ... we had the Mud Puddle. Now this was GREAT... EXCEPT... we were given forks to eat it. Asked the waitress for some spoons... she said they were all out! ... UM... excuse me?... out of spoons..?? REALLY?... in my head... I was saying... um... can't you get someone to wash 2 spoons?... lol... oh well... we still ate the whole dessert with forks!
