If I could give this place 0 stars I absolutely would. We arrived here with reservations for our friends birthday dinner, only to be sat down and waiting for 2 hours as people who came in after us got served. We got people sat at our table despite us having a private table ( which was fine, not arranged but fine) we already compromised. The chef Peter? I believe. Was disgusting the entire time. He asked the young girl if she was on tinder, proceeded to tell my male friend he had a big mouth and grab a cucumber to throw at him saying " I know you like that hu " he then proceeded to make sexual comments about my mouth as well with my Husband sitting right beside me. This is only the beginning. After that we were not really in the mood but sticking it out for our friend. Peter made several comments about our lack of energy which we Apologized for due to the fact we were starving. He puts food on our plates and our friend claps ( birthday boy) To which Peter replies " don't we love a sarcastic clap" switches over to talk to the other cook bussing the table beside us and says " did you hear that sarcastic clap? I think he's gay bro" the other server was just as shocked as we were and repeated what Peter said in shock. Peter then looks back and says " yeah I think he's gay as f*ck. You're gay aren't you?" Asking our friend. To which our friend EXTREMELY uncomfortable said that is inappropriate and none of your business. Peter replied that it was just a joke but it most certainly wasn't. He then tells us he's "gay af" and keeps going after the ENTIRE table told him we were uncomfortable and to stop. We ask for a manager and he lied and said he was. My husband who speaks Korean asked the actual managers for help which they only told us that Peter was nice and didn't know English. Which is very much a lie. Peter refused to leave our table and kept making a scene and kept asking to explain himself. To the point the women had to push him away. This place is very racist and homophobic. Quite literally traumatizing our friend on his birthday dinner and refusing to leave. -1000 out of 10 stars. read more

If you enjoy Benihana style performance dining, you will like this restaurant. The menu is not cheap, and if you're a senior living on a fixed income, you'll have to spend an additional $10 to share an entree. The chef was was funny and entertaining, and tried hard to make it an enjoyable experience. The food was good, but not exceptional. So why only one star? Basically, the sour attitude of the waitress ruined it for us. We were prepared to not leave her a tip, but found that an 18% gratuity was included in the bill. I guess that's one way to make sure a bad waitress gets a tip. So give this place a try if you want, but bring a fat wallet, and be prepared for inferior service. We won't be going back. read more

I came here three months ago I had a cook by the name of Wes it was the best experience I've had in a hibachi place in a long time mainly due to his extensive experience in the food industry. I swear I would come back and request him again for my birthday but upon returning I was sad to find out he was no longer working here and we had a different cook this experience was totally opposite from my last as far as the food service me and a party of five including two young children all felt sick almost immediately after eating. My daughter had extreme diarrhea immediately, everyone else had stomach issues the next day. The cook was very not focused on cooking and more asking questions about me and my family. The cook did not season any of the food, the food tasted very bland I have requested extra garlic butter and lemon and only got extra butter. The cook also did not do half of the tricks that Wes was able to do and that was also very disappointing. I was able to eat a plate and take home a plate on my last visit this time I barely was able to fill my take-home box for the pricing of the food I would expect there to be a lot more food on the plate. I also think the drinks should come with the kids meals. My strawberry daiquiri was pretty good in the Gyoza were pretty good. I hope this place can train more seasoned employees so customers can actually enjoy the full hibachi experience and not just feel like food was cooked in our face very quickly without any real love! I probably will not be returning this location. read more

I ate here last night and was hoping to be pleasantly surprised. It turned out to be a mild disappointment. I ordered the New York steak with scallops and additional shrimp for Teppanyaki. The scallops that I received tableside were gritty, perhaps with sand - I can't explain it any other way beyond that. The servers were very pleasant but it took about 30 minutes from the time I sat down until the time when the chef began to cook tableside. I also have to report that the salad brought prior to the meal was obviously prepared well before the serving, so much so that the deeper I got into the salad the more wet and wilted greens were. Last point to make was the steak, it was adequately cooked to my specifications but the sauce that they cooked it with was very overpowering to the beef, quite salty in fact. I realize that this is not Benihana, however there seems some universal practices that should be maintained with this style of cooking. At this time I would also like to give a shout out to the chef who did his very best to make it entertaining while cooking everything thoroughly as best he could. read more

Picked this place for a birthday request. Made a reservation days in advance, arrived at reservation time and had a bit of a wait at the door before we were seated. First things I noticed was that the floors in the entrance were sticky no matter where I stood, and that this place is a Korean restaurant that serves Teppanyaki. We were seated after a 5 min wait, and had to wait another 30 min before our order was taken. The surface of the table was still greasy from an incomplete wipe down (could see the wipe marks but was still not clean). There were only two chefs working that night, two servers and about 4-5 tables hence the wait for the chef to finish before moving on to another table. I ordered a tempura combo and a Korean soup from the menu (no teppanyaki) and my companions ordered the filet and chicken and filet and shrimp teppanyaki. The tempura was more like beer battered veg/shrimp, not what I was expecting but edible. Korean fish ball soup was good. The filet and chicken/shrimp teppanyaki came with the show and was decent. I tried the teppanyaki food off my companion's plate and the fried rice and yakisoba was decent. Fried rice and meats all needed salt but was otherwise good, being cooked with a lot of garlic butter (there was a large mass of it on the food cart behind the chef). I was the only person at our table who ordered food that wasn't part of the show and I got my food before the show started - if you do this ask that the food be brought out later when everyone else starts getting served otherwise you'll be eating first before anything is cooked at the table. One thing that really bothered me: I noticed that in serving the eight people seated for the show, the first people who were served had generous portions and the last served were given less food. Otherwise the chef was very personable and entertaining. Service was okay - the servers were nice but I had to flag someone down every time I needed something. When the bill came I noticed my soup was charged at $15 despite being on the menu for $10. When I pointed that out they removed the $5 overcharge but who knows if they will reconcile the printed menu with the price in the cashier system. Check your bill. I've been to other teppanyaki places in other cities over many years and I'd say that we need better options in the Seattle metro area. read more

This used to be Susumu's they have updated the inside and it definitely looks a lot more modern. The service and food were excellent. Our chef was awesome with the egg trick and gave us great portions. The menu is a little different as you have to pay extra for fried rice but you also now get yakisoba with your Teppanyaki meal. Apparently they reopened under a new name in December 2018 and we couldn't be happier. Also I should note they have different sauces now. read more

We went here for our son's 18th birthday celebration. He was disappointed that the sushi was unavailable. We asked and were told it was closed. Whether that meant it had different hours, or closed permanently, I have no idea. Just don't expect a sushi appetizer. The food was the standard Teppanyaki fare. I've eaten at many of these types of places around the country and they are all basically the same. A cup of tasty broth, a small salad with ginger dressing followed by the main event. The chef started with the fried rice. It is worth the $3 up charge from the steamed rice. It only has egg as an additional ingredient. The vegetables were next, onion, zucchini, broccoli and mushrooms. Our chef made a cool onion volcano that our boys loved. The meat choices were beef, chicken, salmon, shrimp, lobster, and scallops. I had the salmon which was done with a teriyaki glaze. Everyone enjoyed their food. It's not prime beef or wild salmon, but you are paying for the show. Our boys can't wait to go back again. read more

This was our first visit. Clean place, good service, large portions of great food. Our party of 3 had one of us order sushi. They were great about our requests for adjustments. The other 2 has hibachi. Excellent! It is quirky to get BBQ sauce, but it was fine. It's true the salad comes with ranch dressing, but I don't like the ginger, so it was fine by me. The family that owns and operates this restaurant saw that the Hamburger was an American icon and set out to make the best one in the world, and they have achieved this by using the best quality meat and never freezing it and using the most fresh vegetables and cooking it to perfection. The food was tasty, but we had to wait over an hour and fifteen minutes after being seated before our chef came to START cooking our dinner. This used to be a favorite for my friends, family and myself back when it was Susumu. Tonight there was a large group of us. Per usual. And we were all excited to have what used to be a favorite of ours that we thought was gone forever. Even brought newbies that never went before. We all left disappointed. The meals are half the size they used to be and a few dollars more. They now charge $3 for fried rice and you don't get any shrimp with your meal. The "yum yum" sauce tasted like mayo. It was white and disgusting. Doesn't deserve the name. I wish they kept with the old recipe. And they now add 18% gratuity for groups of 6 or more. They definitely did not earn that 18%! My soup was missing a spoon. I asked twice for one. Ended up using my friends spoon when she was finished. It took forever to get drinks. Forget about refills. I highly doubt any of us will be back. For the price we paid, might as well go downtown Seattle. Fingers crossed this place figures it out before they lose all their business. The potential is there but they don't seem to care about their customers or the quality of their food. Even the dog wouldn't eat my leftovers! read more
