I am baffled by positive reviews of this restaurant. I was escorted to my table by an unfriendly waitress. She took my drink order and brought it back quickly, but basically threw it down and, before I could even ask a question, walked off. After my friend arrived, the waitress took her order and, again, abruptly left the table. Her interactions with us were stilted and she clearly was not interested in providing friendly customer service. I ordered hot 'n sour soup first. It was very average at best. I ordered Szechuan Chicken as my entree and my friend ordered Mongolian Beef. The portions were large and reasonably priced. However, the food was NOT good. It was flavorless, not spicy, and generally not good. I ate about three bites and was asked it I wanted a box which I declined. When asked if I had enjoyed it, I answered honestly. No effort was made to remediate my bad meal. When there is a high quality option very close by, I would definitely opt for that (yes, I know the alternative is more expensive). First time ordering from FUKU. I order from their website. Ordering was easy as there were many choices and photos. I was told the time my order would be ready and It was ready on time for pick up. The food was bagged and packed neatly in a small open box. We ordered general Tso Chicken, Mongolian beef, sesame chicken, house lo mein with sides of fried & steamed rice. We also received a bonus of 6 cream cheese Wontons free. The food was hot and cooked perfectly. The containers were full. Everything was very good even the leftovers the following day. This was our go to Chinese/sushi restaurant...we went last week and unfortunately the daughters were not "on the clock" yet. The mom was our server but unfortunately did not bring what we ordered, yes they were slow and she chose to talk, laugh and ignore us. This was our favorite Chinese restaurant but I guess it is only when the girls are working. The sushi we ordered was good but I did not get what I ordered and she (as in the owner) never asked us if everything was okay! Can't believe of the lack of service we received! My cousin and I stumbled into Gainesville/Lake Lanier yesterday. We actually were planning to go to this restaurant called "Rice" everyone in Cumming is excited to talk about. However, we forgot to look up the hours and it ended up being closed so this place was pretty much neighbors with Rice. We sat down and we had about 10 minutes to still order from their lunch menu which was an amazing deal. It was about $7 for the entree of your choice, the soup of your choice, an egg roll, and rice. I got the sesame chicken and my cousin got the chicken broccoli. She got the hot & soup soup and I got the egg drop. We tried each others' foods. I can validate that their soups are really good. The entrees were decent. However the price was really good for all the food we got. I'm not a big egg roll person so I did not try the egg roll but the fried rice was lacking. It was almost just the same as white rice except a different color. Service was excellent. The server was really nice and helpful. And we did go at an off hour (3-5pm). All in all, I would recommend this place to someone with a Chinese food craving looking for an inexpensive lunch place in Gainesville. However, the only thing that would bring me back to this area would be to actually try this "Rice" place. Also -- Would not recommend their Thai tea. It tasted watered down and not very sweet. The restaurant was kind to follow the special instructions of replacing the veggies in my order for broccoli along with making sure I was getting fountain cokes. The food was delicious and they packed a lot of meat in the Mongolian Beef order. It was very satisfying! I was going to originally give the place one star purely based on their delivery driver being very rude and entitled over a tip. (They were tipped 18%) The driver made sure to notify us that they were displeased with their tip. My boyfriend was the one who kindly had the food ordered through the UberEats app, to which he was informed that the restaurant themselves handle the deliveries. (Which we were fine with) He doesn't live with me and relied on the app to make sure it was safely delivered. Upon the order arriving he received a text from the driver being sassy about their tip. When given the option to tip ANYWHERE we have always chosen 18% as it's the sweet middle spot of the standard 15% - 20% for tips. Hearing his audible gasp I promptly asked what was wrong only to see the screenshot myself. I can understand being upset for NOT getting a tip but that wasn't the case here at all. If this gets shown to said driver, when using delivery apps like UberEats and such we are given the option to rate the order and tip more (or less) if we would like to. Normally we try to tip more if the person was kind to us in the exchange or was prompt with their service. (A service they went above and beyond for deserves a tip. Not because you were doing a job you were hired for knowing your wages.) However, with the text you oh so unprofessionally sent.. we could have chosen to revoke that tip you didn't deserve. (The text may not seem like a big deal but getting upset about free money is absolutely insane.) I've never gone out of my way to call a restaurant and complain directly before until last night. I've worked in the food industry and many jobs that include customer service of some sort but I have NEVER expected a tip nor would I EVER act in such a manner when someone gave me money. (Especially since they didn't have to.) I feel awful for the girl who picked up the phone and the manager who spoke with me and although I didn't curse them out or say/do anything crazy, I still feel bad for my upset tone with them. Both were very kind and very helpful. They reassured me that the driver would be spoken with on the matter and they were the only reason I didn't leave a one star review. read more

All onions, the chicken didn't seem like chicken and it was very sweet like someone put sugar on it intentionally. Seemed like a family run business which is great but when you have young girls waiting on tables, they act just like young girls and barely gave us time to say something before quickly leaving our table. They need to keep in mind they are working not only for tips, but for repeat customers. Lastly, if you notice a customer didn't eat and piled up an entire onion on their plate, address it. The prices have gone up since I've been here last but that's to be expected due to the pandemic and I hope everyone can come to terms with it. The service is very fast. I ordered the sushi roll dinner, which comes with 3 regular rolls of your choice, miso soup and salad. Salad was great - loved the ginger dressing. Soup was good too. I chose salmon avocado roll, eel roll, and spider roll. Eel roll has lots of eel sauce so I recommend not to even dip in soy sauce on that one. Wasabi is average quality. Overall a great spot to stop at if you are en route to the north Georgia mountains. By the way, the music they play was entirely N 'sync and Avril Lavigne. Ordered $50 worth of food through their website and paid for it using Apple Pay. Sent my spouse to pick it up, told him it was paid for, just pick it up. Got there and they told him that they don't take Apple Pay, he had to pay for it AGAIN!!! They couldn't even look to see that it was already paid for. They insisted that he had to pay for it again. And I had the proof on my phone and before I could text it to him he put it on the same credit card. We can dispute it. Obviously a double charge.
