So happy that I found this little gem right in the middle of Downtown Hayward!! I have a ton of hair that can never stay frizz free when straightened but Madison was able to tame my hair to perfection and it lasted. Not to mention their booking system is very easy and there's a ton of availability (when booking ahead, of course). The salon was very clean and Madison was beyond professional. I could honestly kick myself for not coming to Madison back in Aug for my birthday weave after doing a wash and braid (cornrows) trial early summer 2017. Long story short, Madison and Rae fixed a dye job not done correctly and thoroughly and I knew then that I found my stylist(s)! I've since had a new full weave installed which is probably one of the best I've had done in my 10 years of rocking them (off & on). Madison is outstanding. I drove about 30 minutes for this appointment based on the yelp reviews. Happy to say I wasn't disappointed. The salon is nice looking and clean (and you can tell they go through great lengths to keep it clean). All the stylists are friendly, jovial and professional. I had fun listening to them chat. First, I got a trim and Madison might be the first stylist I've ever met that is not scissors happy. She only cut what needed to be cut, which was a huge relief! Then I got a full weave with a closure and it is laid! My sister could not believe I had a closure on. Also I came in with very curly hair and then decided that I wanted it straight. i came today after booking a wig install for $150 on vagaro since im about to go on a 2 week vacation to Miami. i saw the reviews and how they were all so good so i had to give them a try. and honestly when i came in today the wig i had wasnt the best it was tangled and cut a little far from the last install i had in southern california so i understand some of the lace showing but i feel that the install was poorly done. the braids are showing and werent sewn in with and they didnt even use a net ... it looks terrible. it was clear my wig did not look good at all and the woman overcharged me $185 instead of the $150 it was on vagaro. i asked why and she said it was because i had alot of hair, which i wouldve understood if she had done a better job. i still paid although it was ridiculous to overcharge but i definitely wouldnt get a wig install anywhere in the bay area read more

Ok! Waited too long to write this review. This is how the story goes.... I've been wearing weaves and braids since I can remember. There was a very short period in time when I had my natural hair out, but the person I went to ended up ruining my hair and it started falling out bad, I went back to my braids and weaves. Needless to say, I've had my fair share of horrible hair dresses. I have a braider that I have been going to for over 4 years and I love her, but I needed a change. I needed a big change, so I decided to cut my hair and go for a pixie-Halle Berry cut. ANYONE can do hair, but not EVERYONE can cut - there is an art about it - a talent. If done right you end up with an amazing look, if not you end up gluing in tracks and a had for a few weeks until you try someone else that you think is worthy to fit you in their schedule (yep, I've been there too! ) Allow me to help you skip the pain - Madison is good, she's better than good - she's a gem. Madison and the whole crew are gems. From the first initial meet ( I met Madison in person before I set up the apt) to my first impression of the salon - I was impressed. I won't go detail in to detail about my entire experience but some of the things that stood out were: how polite everyone was, how sweet, caring and attentive they were. I've never seen a hair dresser NOT on their phone or checking it while doing someones hair. None of the ladies did this. The salon is clean, modern and beautiful. The bathroom is really nice ( not sure what my deal is but I love when a place has a great bathroom), the place is just adorable. So long long story short - in all the years of me changing my hairstyle and getting my hair done, I have a hard time adjusting to the result (as in I never love it the first day or even the second). When Madison was done with my hair, I was shocked. I didn't fall in love with it right when I saw it, but when I got in the car - I knew I was in love. I guess of I was more consistent or willing to just go to the salon... I could write an actual review... I left multiple messages on their machine...it seems no one is ever there during business hours to pick up the phone for potential clients that call... I also tried to do as instructed on in the voice mail and book online but that service does not seem to work... I let the website think and drain my battery for around 10 mins and have up trying to request and appt online and it clearly says by appt only... so maybe one day the will call me back or fix their online service where clients can actually book! read more

I flew all the way out from Southern California to get a weave installed by Monique and let me tell you that I'm so happy with how it came out! She is such a good stylist and really made me feel comfortable during my time there. Quaint, stylish, and chill boutique hair salon. My Stylist is Tamisha and I was initially referred to her by my Sister-in-Law. When I met with Tamisha for the first time for a consultation, she asked me about my "hair goals." No stylist had ever asked me that before because usually, they just ask about "which service you want" or "how" do you want your hair styled. At the time that I met her, I had a perm in my hair for well more than 20 years. She mentioned that my hair would be healthier if I grew my perm out. I was ready for a stylist change, but not quite ready to let go of my perm. After several months of being her client, we continued the conversation about natural hair, she asked me about my fears about growing it out, and dispelled all of my concerns. There was never any pressure, and she gave me time to think about what my hair needed and what would be best going forward. When I made the decision to move forward on growing it out, we first discussed our plan of action and how we would partner through the process. It was an emotional time as my hair was going through its metamorphosis. Tamisha was there every step of the way to make adjustments, assess how the hair was responding, and it was like having a "hair doctor" there to give my hair what it needed, when it needed it. Needless to say, we are still going strong 5+ years later "after perm" and my hair is healthier, and shinier than ever before. No one can tell the difference, but what they notice and comment on is that my hair looks good. :-) Also, Tamisha is a a trained MUA (Make Up Artist). Several years ago, I needed professional headshots done. Tamisha did my make up after my hair service and I went right down to get my pictures done. She posted my photo at her workstation proudly. My Mother and I have both referred clients who also became regular customers of Tamisha. One commuted from San Jose before she moved to WA, the other commutes from Livermore, and now her Mother has become a client.
