I would rate the experience 8/10... it really would of got a 10/10 but we had to wait a hour after reservation to sit down cause they thought everyone wasn't there whole time the 4 parents were in the car the only person that wasnt there was me because I wanted to walk in with balloons and cake while they were seated. Once seated service was great and quick our chef was funny and amazing the only other thing is he made a mistake and put shrimp on my plate and I'm allergic. Outside of that the experience was so great I still give them 8/10. Music was amazing everything was a vibe the whole family had a good time, the soup was super good and the food....bathroom and restaurant was clean, Great fast customer service. They should make seperate mini bowls for sauce but I Highly recommend you check them out. Fumi is such an AMAZING spot for some hibachi! The experience is great and such a fun and lively armosphere. The service was very fast and everyone was helpful. Sat at the Hibachi tables and I could tell from the get go when they wouldn't serve a mocktail when asked and then ghosted by the server we were off to a marginal dinner. Don't order the appetizers, they are the size of hors d'oevres and tasteless, so overpriced. The hibachi dinners are generous but completely tasteless and without seasonings , nothing had salt and my scallop dinner was way overcooked and chewy. Fumi is a popular hibachi bar in Duluth that seems to attract people with celebrations. Make a reservation because otherwise you will wait a long time for a table. The restaurants laid out pretty good and much like other hibachi bars has different groups of people sitting at the same table around a grill where the chef is going to cook your food. They also have a fresh sushi area, although the sushi was nothing to write home about. The hibachi is very good. The cut of meat were good and everything was cooked very well by the chef. If you order fried rice to eat at the restaurant, they give you a regular adult human portion. But if you ask for fried rice to-go, they give you a portion for basically a toddler. Literally a size of a fist. Yet, they charge you about $15 for that. Why are you guys being so cheap? Those are Simple details that drive me crazy and leads me to question the overall cleanliness of the entire establishment. Plus after looking at their previous health scores, this place has a track record of low to failing scores! As low as 50 before! So mad I didn't check this before going but we were invited by a friend for a quick meetup. The food is mediocre in my experience. They use a lot of oil in their dishes. We are FULL & I have a to-go for lunch tomorrow! I got the grouper hibachi & it was really good- they put teriyaki on it, so if you don't love that flavor maybe be sure to let the chef know. Hubby got scallops, filet & shrimp combo. Lots of food & he enjoyed his meal too. Valet seems to be required, so bring a couple of $$ to tip. They are nice guys!! We had a 7:30 pm reservation & had to wait about 15 mins to be seated. Waiter double charged my hubby so we waited for that adjustment & the manager came to make sure we were OK. Very nice! Hostess stand a hot mess! They need 1 stationary hostess & maybe 2 runners, but all were tripping over themselves tonight. Hard to watch. Training would be good for them & more structured. It's in gwinnett, near the gwinnett place mall or what's left of it. Good amount of parking. But for some reason, patrons park crazy there. Seriously every empty spot looked like a weird rhombus. Lovely entrance, and staff greeted us and escorted us to our private room. Yassss, they have private rooms, hibachi stations and open area. They have paper menus, one double sided and a smaller one. Take out a note pad, it's a lot. Service was nice, and flowed nicely. I have no issue with the food I received. It was all normal hibachi food,except the salad that normally comes with hibachi. Price points are normal. However, be prepared they add the tip in. I have to say this because I expect that when I eat in Atlanta. Not in Duluth. That was my one disappointment. Always has a ginger dressing. This dressing was by far the best I've EVER had. I mean I want to put it on er'ryting. Oooh they have a picture frame you can take pics at. Love that. Another reason. We got there shortly after they opened and chose the Hibachi side for the experience, since it was our first time there. I came here for Mother's Day. My first time at Fumi. You have to pay $5 to park at the restaurant and if not you can park at the other lots near by. The restaurant is modern and clean. The salad was really good because of the dressing. The service was good as well. The food was good, so were the vegetables. I personally don't care for hibachi but I only came because of my family. I won't return because it's pricey and I can get it cheaper elsewhere but I don't have anything bad to say about the place itself. They also gave the mothers a rose for Mother's Day which was a nice surprise. I'm not a mom but they gave me a rose lol. They have multiple sections including a liquor bar, sushi bar, sushi dining room and hibachi room. I dined in the sushi section for an early 5pm dinner. The restaurant was fairly empty but I noticed it was getting busier as time passed--birthday parties and date night patrons. I had the Spiderman roll and I was so surprised it was only 5 individual pieces! So small and definitely a sign of shrinkflation for $14. Overall food was good but I don't expect to return based on the overall experience. The table was in a bad location right as as you walk into the hibachi area on the right so heavy traffic area. I would think that would be one of last tables to use as there was a table in the back left corner. Server was efficient but we had to ask for straws and chopsticks and overall not personable. Same with the hibachi chef. Sure he set the grill on fire and the meat and seafood was cooked well but not personable like other hibachi places. When we were leaving, 2 cars pulled up from both directions and parked right in front of the entrance/exit when it was pouring down raining so we were unable to pull up to the front to pick up one of our elders in the party. These cars were not waiting on picking up other guests as well because both turned off their cars and entered the restaurant. The restaurant really should have no parking signs there. This was our first time at Fumi's and it was exceptional! We dined-in on a Christmas Day with a 430pm reservation. The crowd was light with only four hibachi tables with guest. We were seated upon check in and the waitress took our drink orders. The hot sake, sodas and waters came out quickly. We ordered our hibachi go-to items: spicy tuna roll, California roll and tuna poke appetizers, steak and/or shrimp dinners with fried rice - 3 adult, 2 kids. We had a good hibachi chef. He was personable, cooked and seasoned everything to perfection. His tricks were good too. Best of all, he prepared a lot of food. Our plates were full! The bill, including an 18% gratuity + additional tip, was $235. Well worth the value for a family of five. Plus, we all left with just enough left overs for a 2nd dinner. Note - I ordered takeout so my review is strictly concerning the food I got the hibachi ny strip and steak with fried rice. The vegetables were in so much liquid/oil it almost looked like soup. The fried rice tasted like it was made on an old grill and the texture was off. The steak was the only thing that I fibished eating as the shrimp had a weird film on it that made it unappetizing. I remember coming here a few years ago and I enjoyed the food but I dont see myself returning. The price does not reflect the quality. read more
