Honestly, I'm impressed. I loved it. I stopped in for a solo lunch date. It's a nice little lunch spot. Feels very homey. I tried the Penne Funghi from the lunch menu. The cream is just the right amount with a hint of truffle. The mushrooms are cooked to perfection and not soggy. Fairly new (to me) Italian joint opened with a badass lunch special, 25% off if you order direct from them for the first time with a special code. We found the code included with our Uber order otherwise it's a good anyhow. Like $12 with the usual dishes. I got the rigatoni bolognese, it was some of the best take out bolognese I've had. It was the perfect amount for lunch to not feel like a disgusting pig, great portion. I've also had the spaghetti and meatballs and it's equally as good, they give you plenty of meatballs. We get there for happy hour and order two pizzas and then they tell us they don't do pizzas between four and five. Who has a 4 to 7 happy hour and isn't serving half of their menu during the first hour? More frustrating was we had them boxed up the leftover pizza and they shorted us a slice. This place is fantastic! Charming ambiance with a sweet little bar. Crowded (so you know it's delish) and a great vibe. I had the rigatoni with broccoli and shrimp - AMAZING! I'll be going back for sure! I loved it so much, I took my adult child back for dinner later the same night. She had the clams linguine and garden salad which I stole half. The salad had a huge portion. It could have had just a tad more dressing (and I usually order it on the side since I don't love a ton). She loved the meal too! Our bartender was just as sweet can be - didn't catch her name but she had a blonde ponytail as was working 1/10/25 at night. Inside is decorated very simply, but elegant at the same time. Ambiance rate 8/10. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The service was a little slow considering my pickup time was at 4:15pm, and it wasn't ready yet which was fine. However, around 4:25 it still wasn't ready. Luckily, one of the managers noticed I was still waiting, and went into the kitchen and quickly brought my order out. So it seemed like it was just waiting in the kitchen for a while, but no one seemed to notice. Service/staff rate 7/10. I ordered the... 1. Garlic Bread: This was extremely flavorful and delicious. It tasted very homemade meaning they didn't use some store bought garlic butter spread. The bread was also nice and crispy. However, I don't think it was worth the $9, maybe $7 at most! Rate 9/10. 2. Penne Funghi: This dish was mediocre since I hardly tasted the truffle oil. It was also very oily, and sadly it didn't even taste like truffle! The mushrooms were good though. Rate 5/10. 3. Spaghetti Lobster Fra Diavolo: This entrée was super yummy. It had a slight spicy flavor which I enjoyed. I also liked the fresh lobster they used. Unfortunately, the pasta didn't homemade, it tasted boxed. Also, the sauce didn't taste like marinara as advertised; it tasted more like tomato sauce. Nevertheless, it was still an enjoyable meal. Rate 8/10. A good thing was the portion sizes for these dishes were a nice amount that kept me full. A bad thing is the prices for these dishes are a little pricey. I came here for lunch. I got reeled in by the $12 pasta plate. Well...you get what you pay for. I came here out of curiosity and all the great reviews. Yelp, why did this happen!?!?!? Lol (Sorry for the dramatics). **Please don't come here thinking it's an amazing deal it's not!** I can honestly tell you that the pasta tastes like it is from a box. FYI, so does the canned tomato sauce. Also, my appetizer felt lackluster for the price. My eggplant parmigiana was $17 for 4 slices of burnt bitter eggplant. I definitely had better. I was hoping for nice layers and a balance of mozzarella and eggplant with sauce. Such a sad appetizer that left a bitter after taste literally. I think they added more cheese on top of the burnt area to hide it. Come at your own risk. Maybe I came on a off day? I'm not sure, but I definitely won't be returning to test that theory. Really nice meal in a lovely setting. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. As a party of two, we ordered the aracini (rice balls) and vodka pizza as appetizers. The aracini were nice and light and the pizza was tasty, I liked the addition of scallions, I hadn't had that on vodka pizza before. For entrees we ordered the penne funghi (mushrooms with truffle oil and a cream sauce) and steak with sauteed spinach instead of fries. The pasta was delicious and decadent, and the steak had nice flavor and was cooked perfectly. We were able to cut the steak using a regular table knife is was so tender. We opted for the tiramisu for dessert and it was fantastic. Light and not too sweet. Overall a really nice meal and reasonable prices for the portions and neighborhood. Would definitely go back. I've had this waiter a couple times ( I don't remember anyone's names sorry), he's taller, I think darkish hair and Caucasian and he is truly always the best. Very attentive 10/10 Last time I was there actually another guest accidentally knocked over a whole carafe of water all on my lap. I was absolutely soaked. A lunch order of Rigatoni Salsiccia will last me for two meals. They're not stingy with the crumbled sausage and the sauce is buttery and cheesey. The Penne Vodka is also amazing. I love the food and drinks, but it's nearly impossible to see anything in this restaurant. I've been here five times, and each time the staff admits they cannot see either, but they say management won't change it. This is not a nightclub; it's a restaurant where you need to read the menu, and the staff, especially the bartenders, must be able to see what's in front of them. Plus, as a disability advocate i've asked for additional light because people may have eye sight impairments and asked them put it up but it seems the managers are afraid of the owners. We ordered the spicy calamri and kale caesar salad to share -- both were absolutely amazing. The portion sizes were generous too. For the main, I got the Spaghetti Vongole. Delicious food, but extremely uncomfortable dining experience. On a 98-degree day, the staff / management refused to turn on the air conditioning, claiming the "airflow" was better.
