Please do dim sum here if you are doing dim sum at all in OKC. This place is always consistent so 5 stars for that. I always find myself there on Saturdays around 11 or noon. There is usually a wait of 5-20 minutes depending but the food obviously since its "Rotating" around the restaurant comes quick. There are special items that are also offered that aren't on the dim sum menu such as different seafood specials, they seem to almost always have the black bean clams which I highly recommend, as that is my favorite dish there! Sometimes, but rarely they'll have a lobster special. So you might ask if they have any seafood or veggies specials! Price is reasonable, staff = excellent. Very kind staff and quick at their job. This was another spot we found on Yelp and wanted to try while in OKC. Service in OKC at Chinese restaurants is much better than in the San Gabriel Valley in California. At least that is our experience. We came into this place at about 7:30 in the evening on a weekday last week. They quickly seated us at a big table with the lazy susan in the middle. This place has the large three to four pound live lobsters, and we had a large one prepared with the ginger and green onions. The lobster was prepared very good, and everyone enjoyed it. They also had an excellent version of sweet and sour pork, cooked with some vegetables, pineapple and some very good sauce. There was a big bowl of soup served and the steamed rice was apparently never ending as it was refilled at least once. We had the green beans here, they were all eaten so I think they were well received. I can't remember the other dishes we had but everything was good. This is a place I would recommend, if we return to OKC we will try it again. read more

I also wanted to compare their green bean and pork dish to Szechuan Bistro & Chow's. We ate: * * * *1/2 mixed plate- duck and crispy skin pork - I'd like to complain about the portion. For the price, it was a small plate. Granted, both tasted so yummy! The duck was seasoned and cooked well. The skin of the pork was very crunchy while the meat remained tender- not dried out. Drizzled some of the sauce in my bowl of rice and I was good to go! In a way, the taste made up for it. * *Minced pork and green beans- Our green beans were burnt. The char taste ruined it for me. Conclusion? What a difference a meal makes! Dim sum was subpar. Dinner was much better. It's not cheap, but not overly expensive. Those who don't like a heavy garlic taste will probably prefer Fung's green bean dish over Chow's. They rank 3rd place when comparing this dish to my other go-to joints. I will be back! read more

A group from our office had lunch at Fung's on a Monday around 12:15. The place had maybe 4 tables eating, but a couple more came in while we were there. It's an old Pizza Hut, but it's well appointed on the inside. There is plenty of seating, but you aren't on top of other tables, there is plenty of room in the restaurant. Our table and the surrounding area was clean. We were approached immediately for our drink order, which arrived after maybe a minute. Then, we perused the menu. Fung's has at least a dozen lunch specials which are served with your choice of soup, one egg roll, fried or steamed rice, and, depending on which lunch you chose, either crab rangoon or fried shrimp. I went with the B8 lunch special. For around $7.50 - $8.00, you get kung pao chicken, fried rice, an egg roll, 2 fried shrimp, sweet and sour chicken, and hot and sour soup. The soup came out after only a minute or so. It was steaming hot, and the ingredients were cooked very well. It was heartier than I was expecting, it most definitely was not just broth and a couple of veggies. I added the chili sauce for some spice and it was a solid soup, I would definitely eat this again. The food took around 10 minutes, give or take. It was very hot when it arrived, so be advised. The plate was completely full with food, it's a very good value for the price. The shrimp were crispy but definitely not over-fried. The fried rice was basic, seasoned only with soy sauce. The kung pao chicken needed a lot more heat. It was marked as a spicy dish on the menu, but I would not agree with that assessment. I'll ask for more heat next time. That being said, it was flavorful and full of veggies and peanuts. Just need more chili peppers. The sweet and sour chicken was my least favorite. Several of the pieces were fried too long and became dry. The sauce was standard as well. One of the guys at the table got the A1, Mongolian beef. It looked fantastic, and came with crab rangoon instead of fried shrimp. This will likely be the next lunch I order at Fung's. The egg roll was very good. Thick, fried perfectly, and full of veggies. It was very flavorful. I would say if this meal was $3 more it would be a 3 star review, but it's quite a value for lunch. And, we were in and out in about 35 or so minutes, which is key during the workday. I will definitely be back, hopefully on a weekend to try some dim sum. read more

I had a meetup group to come out to Fungs Kitchen for Dim Sum. I made a reservation for 12 people, but I could only hold the reservation until 10:45am. They told me the line is usually out the door by 11am. On arriving, they had a large table for us and could be moved to a smaller table if the numbers in our party weren't there. The restaurant didn't really start filling up until around noon, but I understand their dilemma. The waitstaff was very attentive and on par. As folks trickled in, they were accommodated adequately. We had multiple servers explaining things and providing information which was very enlightening. They had a sense of humor and quite jovial. There is always a stigma of seeing chicken feet, but we never did. I have personally tried them, but will not order them again. BBQ buns were sweet and delicious. The spinach leaves were tasty. The beef flat noodles were on par. Coconut buns are to die for, but then again.. I am a big coconut fan. They brought out the usual dim sum items, but also told us about the clams in black bean sause special for $10.95, which was great. They also had roast duck/ pork belly combination for $10.95 with was a huge hit at our table. The pork belly is a taste explosion in your mouth with a mixture of salty, soft, crispy and deliciousness. Desserts were coconut jelly, red bean jelly, lemon tarts, mango custard with milk and sweet tofu. I would recommend the coconut jelly and mango custard, but not the sweet tofu (which lacked taste). One person ordered a meal off the menu (Beef steak with rice). This was delicious. Our final bill was $112 for 7 people coming out to $16.10/person. Definitely cost effective for as many items as we tried. Everyone left full, so all in our party enjoyed it. Overall: Food, service and environment cleanliness was A to A+. I don't know about this one.. I like weird food and I love Asian food. This is a hidden gem I guess you can say in the metro but so I went with my Asian buddy and I'm super white. The atmosphere was chill and kind of wait you would expect but dated. When the carts came by or the servers came by, the spoke clear English but they spoke so fast that I could hardly understand them. Which can make this type of restaurant hard to eat at if you don't really k is what your eating. Based on my experience and I could be wrong here, I don't believe the dumpling were house made. However, localized standards aside, everything was decent. My mother spoke Cantonese to the servers so they get some credit for authenticity. I have been searching for an authentic Chinese restaurant (that wasn't a buffet) with good reviews in okc for 3 years. Sadly my last resort for chinese food in OKC has been panda express because at least you know what to expect.... Fungs had numerous good reviews and I was very excited to give it a shot. My wife and I were pleased with the restaurant and we liked how they had taken out all of the old pizza hut booths. It made the old pizza hut seem less like a pizza hut and a lot cleaner. The waitress handed us the normal menus and it had the general chinese food menu. I went an asked for the "Asian" menu and found a lot more of the authentic chinese dishes that I had read about on yelp. Some were too authentic and others were too expensive. They had a lot of seafood items also. To start we ordered the lettuce wraps. It was a very typical blend of chicken finely chopped with veggies and a side of nutty dipping sauce. They were good and they had a unique Asian flare. They also came with a lot of lettuce, which is a plus. They were very filling. For our meals, my wife stuck with what she knew and ordered the Kung Pao lunch special. It was a good deal and came with a lot of food (egg roll, crab rangoon, fried rice). However it was very bland. Not very good at all. This is why I had to give fungs a 3... I ordered the Beef with flat noodle dish off the asian menu and it was very good. If that was all that we ordered I would have given it a 4 or a 4.5. I would suggest sticking to the more authentic dishes and away from the "panda express" type of items. Fung's is one of the best for authentic Chinese food in OKC. It seems to be more Cantonese, which makes it unique because most other authentic Chinese places in OKC are Szechuan. Closer to the food you would find in Hong Kong than Beijing. My photos are all of dim sum items I have had (only on weekends, 10am to 3pm). All items are amazing!!! I've had other menu items during the week that are also quite awesome! Get the roast duck, so flavorful and juicy! Get the pork belly! Just get it! Eggplant and tofu hot pots... amazing! Word of caution: if you are not of eastern Asian decent and go in during the week, you might need to ask for the Chinese menu if they only give you the menu with Americanized Chinese items on it like sesame chicken and sweet & sour pork. I wanted some dim sum and i keep hearing that i need to check this place out. Their dim sum is only served on the weekends so if you want to try, make sure to visit on the weekends. So during the dim sum hours, the servers will come by with carts full of food you can pick from. They have different variety of items from dim sum to fried noodles and many others. Each item have a different price which they will mark on your ticket to pay later. Careful, the prices add up very very quick. Less than 30 minutes of being there, our bill was over $50. It is quite pricey imo. A lot of the items that came by looks and smell great. We just had to try. Most of the items taste great as well. We didn't see any soup dumpling, which i wanted. Not sure if they serve it or we missed it. We had to stop because our bill would be over $100 if we wanted to eat until we were full. Had to go grab some banh mi across the street as we were still hungry. Overall, the food was good. I will probably go back for more dim sum. Only bad thing i have to say about this place is that the servers are to busy passing out food that they neglect refilling water. Fung's is my go to place when Chow's is overcrowded. I feel like the service and quality of food has declined. Dim sum here was a waste of money because selection of dim sum items were limited and I can tell the food was not fresh. Service is a hit and miss but it feels like lately it's been a miss. Don't expect to have your drinks refilled and when you ask for something like a fork, you will have to ask more than once. It's so frustrating to eat here now because I never know if the food and service will be good or not. The last time we were here, we asked for our tofu to be extra crispy and the waitress replied, "it's already crispy" and we received tofu that was nowhere near crispy. We went here for the first time on a cold winter's day. It was warm and welcoming inside. I started with the egg drop soup, which I really enjoyed. It wasn't salted to seat, and in fact was warm and creamy. For the main dish, I ordered the tofu and glass noodle hot pot. My companion ordered a duck something, and a noodle bowl. The main dishes arrived piping hot and fresh. All our dishes were really well prepared and as close to authentic Chinese as we knew to get. Our waiter was very helpful and patient with us. We wanted more authentic, and got a taste of it. Can't wait to go back and try something else new! There are Thai dishes to choose from as well, but with authentic Chinese in short supply in the metro area (Ba Shu in Norman comes to mind) we wanted to be adventurous. read more

Went here a few months ago to try their beef flat noodle since it's highly rated and one of my favorite dishes. They didn't have any noodles that night, so I was a little disappointed. I ordered two orders of the beef flat noodles tonight for delivery and was told they only had enough noodles for one. I agreed to get rice with one and noodles for the other. When the food arrived they were both like spaghetti noodles - no rice or flat noodles. Disappointed again that I haven't gotten to try one of their top rated dishes. While being in OK, you have an ultimate opportunity to check out cuisines around the entire world. For one of our dinners, we picked Fungs Kitchen. Thanks to the positive reviews, my wife and I picked Pure Thai. We have already saw other guest's plates, feel the tasty food. Waiting was not annoying, it was the opposite. However after maybe a 10min, we received a table. We ordered Wok Curry Paste With Pork and Fried Rice With Lump Crab Meat. We received a bottle of water even that we didn't order it - so cool. The food arrived after 15 min. My feeling that it will be good, didn't cheat me. It was delicate, full of flavor and so so tasty! I can really recommend this place.
