Fungus Fighters did an inspection on a property I bought and gave me a very fair bid on completing needed work. I found them to be professional, timely, and good at explaining each job. In the end, I was very pleased with the quality of their work. They replaced damaged siding and framing, laid a vapor barrier under the house, and fixed numerous problems typical of an ageing house. I scheduled a termite inspection with Fungus Fighters, after seeing their excellent Yelp! reviews, and after having a frustrating experience with one of their competitors who also perform other pest inspections. The appointment-making process was easy, pleasant, and straightforward. Steven arrived a few minutes earlier than the scheduled appointment (which was perfect), and performed his inspection nimbly and thoroughly. He gave me a verbal summary, informing me of some non-structural dry rot issues that we could put off until the next recommended inspection in 4 years. He also surprised me with his knowledge of the house, informing me that Fungus Fighters had performed the pre-sale inspection on it and termite abatement/reconstruction prior to my purchasing it almost six years ago! I'm a Realtor and have used Fungus Fighters for years with my clients for pest isnpections. They are a great inspection company. When My husband and I were looking at doing a major home renovation I asked the President of the company, Ed Foster, what construction company he would recommend. He chimed, "Fungus Fighters". Uh, I never thought of them for construction though that is their name. And that's who we used. I could not be happier with the whole Fungus Fighters team. From Sharon and Melissa in the office to Ed, Shawn and the rest of the crew, they were always professional. It was a big job and on a 1930 house you are bound to have some surprises...and we sure did have some but again, they were very professional and kept the project on time. The job started the first of August and finished the second week of October. Every person I have spoken with about renovation projects say it will take six months to a year longer than estimated. Not this job and not Fungus Fighters, they brought in a crew and really did a fantastic job. They work in Vallejo a lot and the inspectors in the building department obviously respect them. We got all our permits in a timely manner and the inspections went great. The subcontractors they used (Duenas Concrete & Bill Taylor Painting) were excellent. I also found their pricing to be very, very reasonable. I cannot recommend them more highly as a construction company! read more

I hired them to do an inspection on my house. The report was thorough but, according to my contractor some of the recommended work was excess to what really needed to be done. I hired a contractor to do the work and then had Fungus Fighters come back to inspect. I think he was mad that he didn't get the work as he tore apart everything the contractor did. When the contractor talked to him the two of them got in a fight. My contractor did some additional work and said he'd pay to have FF come out yet again. Now I'm being told I owe them for the 2nd visit--which I did not authorize. Two big egos and I'm stuck in the middle. I won't be using either every again. read more

Hired them to do termite inspection and treatment, and they did not abide by what I hired them for. The issue became what she said and what I said. Hire somebody else.....bad experience. read more

I contacted Fungus Fighters to do a termite inspection and based on my experience decided not to to hire them to do the work. This review is solely a review of the inspection and not the quality of their work. They did work on my home 4 1/2 years ago with the previous owner and have many fine recommendations here, so they were the first company I turned to. The inspector who came was thoroughly professional and nice. But his explanations left me concerned and more than a little confused. The recommendation included pulling up a floor in a finished basement room. When the estimate came, it included those costs and notes on the treatment they recommended, but it did not include replacing the floor. I called and they followed up with an estimate to rebuild the floor, which doubled the cost of the work. That estimate seemed arbitrary and did not include any specifications or say how much time they expected all of this to take. I had the impression I was being oversold on the work that was needed and surprised that after two estimates, I still had unanswered questions. A subsequent inspection by another company was much more thorough, showed and explained other areas needing treatment, answered all of my questions and more, explained the different chemicals used, and how they could treat the basement room without removing the floor. It was also significantly less expensive. The elephant in the room was wondering whether better quality work 4 1/2 years ago might have saved some trouble now. read more
