I'm in North Charlotte, and Yelp NEVER recommended this place for Bruch. BIG Fail. The hubby and I found ourselves here after church. There was no wait, but it was full. I had shrimp and grits. They were delicious! Possibly the best in Charlotte. The only thing that could've been better is they could've been served warmer. My husband had pancakes. They were normal pancakes. No harm, no foul. The service was outstanding. Julie, our waitress was so friendly. The restaurant is a little tight, so if you're concerned about COVID, go when it's not busy. The lady at the table beside of us was upset because her mother didn't invite her to Thanksgiving dinner because her brother was coming and didn't want her there. However, she was invited to Christmas, but she thinks it's because mom just wants her grandkids there. I prayed for the family after they left. We were THAT close together. Everything came out quickly. It's similar to a diner style ordering system. I plan to try the pot pie when I go back. I may become a regular. Hidden gem, highly recommended. read more

Tried this place recently and was delighted for sure. It's not big as a minute lol so choose your time to go wisely. We only had about a 10-15 min wait but that could easily double at the wrong time. I like when I can see the kitchen staff and how my food is prepared and the conditions under which prepared. Hubby had the pancakes n turkey sausage and loved the cakes but only liked the sausage - said it was dry and lacked flavor. I had the avocado toast with a fried egg and unlike other restaurants the simply slice avocado on the toast and then top with the egg as opposed to other restaurants that prepare what's almost like guava then top with the egg. I prefer the latter better but still enjoyed it. The fruit was fresh and offered a variety instead of some restaurants that fill it up with grapes or apples and only one chunk of pineapple or melons or berries. The hash browns or breakfast potatoes were tasty with onions n peppers The manager was especially warm and welcoming and we learned she is from South Africa- loved her accent! All in all it was a nice experience and one I'll repeat soon. read more

We love having breakfast on Saturdays, and gave The Fresh Egg a try shortly after their opening. We figured we would enjoy the food since we like Fresh Chef so much, but I think they even surpassed our expectations. The Fresh Egg is located in the old Fresh Chef location. The latter has just moved a few doors down to larger space in the same shopping center. I didn't snag a photo of the menu, but my husband and I both had the basic breakfast. Mine came with scrambled eggs (with added cheddar), grits (with added cheddar), a cheddar biscuit, and bacon. You see where I'm going with the cheese factor? Ha ha! Everything was delicious. I can't tell you how I am so frequently disappointed with restaurants that don't melt the cheese in with the scrambled eggs. But Fresh Egg did it perfectly, with creamy eggs and lots of melty cheese. Their grits were thick, well-seasoned, and didn't really need anything (butter, cheese, or sugar). Their biscuits were light and fluffy, and perfect for topping with the eggs. And finally, the bacon was a thicker cut, and nicely crispy. My husband had fried eggs (over medium), an English muffin, country ham, and bacon. His eggs were cooked perfectly, and he liked being able to get another meat as his side. (They also have yummy-looking biscuits and gravy as a side option). We returned the following weekend, and I had the crabcake benedict with scrambled eggs with cheddar (instead of poached). It was the best of this dish that I've had anywhere! My husband had his same dish again. Word must be getting out, because there was a wait. Their coffee was nice and strong, and service was the usual -- attentive and helpful, as we've come to expect from Fresh Chef). We'll most definitely be back! read more

This place deserves every bit of these 5 stars. A clean & cozy spot with great prices, big portions, and super friendly service. They def live up to the name "Fresh Egg"; everything was delicious and you could tell it was fresh. They even had real jelly instead of those high fructose corn syrup packages you see at most breakfast spots. Mucho points in my book for that. Instead of ordering hash brown or home fries like usual, my server suggested the cauliflower cakes and yoooo, I'm so glad he did!! They went perfect with my veggie omelet and I even ordered an extra one to go. Shout out to Tim for the excellent recommendation and top notch service! He literally could not have done a better job. What a great breakfast experience! We went after church on a Sunday and the crowd seemed to flow nicely. Not too long of a wait, if any at all. We were seated right away. Indoor and covered outdoor seating available. We enjoyed the bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit and the breakfast platter. The cheese grits had great flavor in the grits, you can leave the cheese off. The breakfast potatoes were fantastic with the peppers and onions. So good. Bacon was perfectly cooked, not chewy. Coffee was good. Biscuit was a bit crumbly, so had to eat my sandwich with a fork. I've had other biscuits here that didn't crumble, so it may have just been that day. It still tasted good, I didn't care. Great addition to Cornelius! Enjoy! read more

A good breakfast reataurant that offers table service. With a helpful and fast staff the breakfast here is fast and efficient. The food is executed well. The NOLA gumbo is a well made. But if you are expecting file and rue based gumbo , it is not. It is still well made. Due to the newness of the restaurant, it gets pretty crowded on the weekends. The location is convinient and easily seen from the road. The restaurant is not large so it gets real cozy when its busy. read more

I was driving by and decided to stop in. It was packed, so I knew I was in the right place. I asked for a recommendation and was pointed to the corned beef hash. I cannot accurately describe the heaven on a plate that came out. I was told they make their own corned beef in a slow cooker everyday. The hash was perfect, flavorful and tender. It comes with eggs and your choice of bread. I opted for the biscuit, another masterpiece. Here's the problem...the hash is so good that I can't order anything else. I was visiting the area during this Thanksgiving week and decided to give this restaurant a try... I am so GLAD that I did! I was warmly greeted as I slowly passed by and rolled down my window to ask about the restaurant. A woman who was clearing an outside table said to me that they have lots of options and welcomed me to come in. Once inside, I had a difficult time deciding upon what I wanted, but ultimately ordered a Greek style omelette with turkey sausage crumbles. The sausage was plentiful and fresh, as was the spinach and feta cheese! In addition, I had a pancake with butterscotch chips in the batter as well as on top with a toffee crunch... It was absolutely incredible! This meal also came with a side and I selected fruit. I thought I would get a spoonful on my plate, but it came in a generous-sized bowl with golden delicious pineapple, strawberries, cantaloupe, honeydew melon and grapes...again, all fresh! To say that I enjoyed this meal is a gross understatement as I really do not have the words to convey how much I thoroughly enjoyed not only the meal but the dynamic service... Several people stopped by my table to greet and talk with me. I will definitely be visiting this restaurant again whenever I'm in the area!
