This place should've been closed a long time ago. Came here for a birthday party. Haven't been here since I was a kid and I remember why. Customer service horrible. Games do not work. Skating rink have holes in it. The play slide for children had a screw hanging out. A kid cut himself and they wiped it clean with a paper towel. The best part of it all was my card was disabled and because it was reported stolen. The card was in my possession the entire time. Management refused to reinstate my card without a receipt. That would have been easy to prove had they given me one but of course their machine was out of paper. This place is a big joke. read more

Found a Groupon deal for this place and took my teenage niece here on a Friday evening around 7-8pm. The place was nearly empty, which was kind of shocking for a Friday night. But hey, we had already bought our Groupon so we tarried on. We played a few arcade games, ate our greasy pizza (part of Groupon deal), rode the indoor go-karts (our favorite part), and left. The place was just so dead and dark that we just couldn't get into our playful spirit. I sure hope that maybe we came on a bad night, because they definitely won't be in business too much longer if the crowd/atmosphere continues at this rate. read more

Bowling Alley was terrible. Bowling balls kept getting stuck in the right gutter! This place played loud hip hop music! Had a headache after about 30 minutes! Got a coupon from groupon. If I could have rated zero or negative, I would. As the other commenter has said, my husband & I came to the bowling alley through the Groupon promotion. Even so, it wasn't quite worth it. While the place wasn't jam packed, it still looked under-staffed. We had to change 3 lanes and requested for the lane another family was using but left simply because we knew for a fact that lane was functioning. The other 3 we tried were dysfunctional ranging from the bowling balls didn't return to us and the score board couldn't do math. It was a waste of time switching lanes and what's even more shocking was that the service team said the lanes that we were put on which were dysfunctional were one of their best lanes! Decided to take my visiting daughter and granddaughter to Houston. I got a Groupon for Funplex and we arrived a couple minutes before 11a on Sunday, the scheduled opening time. They didn't open the doors until almost 11:15a. We were first in line and rode the ferris wheel. As others have stated, it's FAST! We went to go do the trampoline thing... no-one around and the operator from the ferris wheel couldn't find anyone. Next we went to the go-karts... again first on. It was fun. There weren't a ton of people there and most of the rides weren't staffed. We managed to go roller skating. There were holes in the floor, and paper on the floor. It looked like it needed cleaning. Also the music playing was NOT child friendly. Most of the staff were teenagers (understandably) and a few were very helpful. I definitely wouldn't pay full price, nor would I go during a busy time. My granddaughter loved the little kids play area with the inflatables and huge slide. (I give that area and the 2 young ladies there 4 Stars) All in all, there is not enough staff nor activities to warrant the cost... everything cost extra! read more

I've been to Funplex on several occasions, mainly for kids birthday parties. My last visit was to take my kids and a friend skating. I've been skating since I was about 5 so I have over 30 years of experience. This rink floor is terrible. It's not wood nor is it maintained in any way. You can no longer pay at the rink but have to walk all the way back to the front to pay to use the rink (something about the register not working). I spent the first hour picking up debris while skating on the floor. I was concerned that someone would roll over something and hurt themselves especially little kids. There used to be a DJ which was great. Now there's a computer setup and guests can use YouTube for music...which is weird. Lots of kids on the floor which made it hard to skate due to lack of supervision. It seems like every time I come here I ask myself how is this place still open. read more

All I can say is place is pure trash. It does not even deserve one star, but to leave review I had to place. The bowling section is a pure joke, one worker looked so stoned with glossy eyes. The Mexican so called thought he was big boss ( hehe, only entry level) thought he knew it all and only works at Funplex. Was told could not get my money back but did, it is called demanding the right thing when faced in a trashy situation. The security is worse then Mickey Mouse! My husband and I took our two children here on a Saturday around noon. We planned on grabbing a quick bite at the food court area before diving into the games and rides. We ordered a hot dog and nachos. 40 minutes later our food was ready. Yes, 40 minutes. They weren't particularly busy either. I spoke with the manager regarding my frustrations. He said that he would speak with someone (maybe his boss?) and get back with me. He never did. Pretty cool place, but very poor customer service. Went with small group, about 4 kids, ages 4 - 7. They had a great time, tons of things for them to do. I was a little worried when I read the reviews and saw the area, but the afternoon was good. Kids favorite part was the bowling and "Play Port". I'd like to give kudos to the floor manager on Sat April 30th late afternoon. She was doing a terrific job of making sure everyone was happy and asking if she could help anyone. Also, kudos to our waitress in the bowling area, Brandy. She got me my Pomegranate Martini!!! I was disappointed in the price for skating, and then the skate laces we're frayed and when we asked for some tape to tape up the frayed laces to help lace up the skates, we were told they didn't have any. I take my daughter here pretty regularly. She loves the rides, and I love the fact that they are INDOORS. This place is a lifesaver on rainy or sweltering summer days. I'll typically spend $20 , and she will literally play in the treehouse all day. We even had her 3rd bday here. The kids enjoyed themselves. For the price they charge 39.99 per kid, I think they need to update the rides, or at least have the majority working. We had to wait about 20 minutes to ride the go carts bc only 2 were working. Other than that it was okay. They enjoyed skating, the Ferris wheel, and the kiddy rides. We came here because our favorite place similar is an hour away. This place is so run down! One of the main reasons we came was for the play area and ball pit, which was closed for "cleaning" (why not do this after hours?). The rides are either for younger kids or older so my kids had 3 rides to do at $40!?!?! The water fountain in the food court was disgusting! Old dirty water in it and trash thrown in! The whole place is filthy! The carpets looked as if they had not been vacuumed in weeks! Gross is my word for this place and forget the rides, half dont have staff running them so you cant use those! This place is great! I went here for the first time last Sunday at about 12pm. I brought my 2 sons and their cousins (ages 1, 2, 3, 9, 10, and 11). There was something for everyone. My 2 year old really enjoyed the Airplane and Ladybug Ride. The teenager operating the rides was super friendly and made the ride really enjoyable for my son by giving him high fives as he circled around. The older kids enjoyed the bumper cars, the free fall ride, and the arcade. The little ones played in the PlayPort for a long time. It was really nice because 2yrs and under get in free. The PlayPort is really kid friendly and I wasn't worried at all about my kid getting hurt. He loved the big slides. This place is pretty affordable. I bought a $40 card for my 2 year old ($5 added for free) and only used about $15. The best thing about this place - it wasn't crowded at all. By the time we left the parking lot was definitely more packed but the inside didn't seem crowded at all - I guess because the place is so huge. read more

Now you pay to play using a card which you can also use to pay for food & drinks which is cool however its not the same Funplex it used to be in the past. To whom it may concern My family and I decided to go to funplex for our spring break. What a mistake that was!!! We called to ask for their daily specials and were informed of the card that has 5unlimited rides, 10$ arcade and 1 activity. We got to the place walked up to the cashier who verified the SAME INFORMATION WE HAVE GOTTEN OVER THE PHONE!!! So when we heard the word unlimited we new that was our pick. My girls proceede to go on the rides just to be stopped ans SLAMMED BY A SORRY UR CARD NO LONGER WORKS!!!!! I thought it was a mistake so i went to speak with a cashier (MADE A HUGE LINE TO GET TO ONE). Just for them to apologizing for providing wrong information!!! Mind you they had charged me with an unlimitted package that was never given to me!!!!! Again the only thing offered was an apology for FALSE ADVERTISEMENT!! But i think that yelp and consumer affairs will be interested to know about my experience. Definitely overpriced. Definitely needs some upgrades. That being said, this place is meant to entertain children and it does that well. Took a 5 year old and she had a great time. Not tall enough for everything, but for a good amount of activities. We'll probably come back if we want something close and not for all day. If you want all day fun, go to Galveston pier. Two hours unlimited at funplex is the same price as all day unlimited in Galveston. There were renovations going on. Looking forward to coming back, though not if the price goes up. read more

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME! The concept is neat. But overall our experience was just OK everything is way overpriced. For two people to skate it was over $40 that's ridiculous plus my skates were broken and the guy said well that's what they're like and for over $20 per person you can afford to fix some skates. Plus the music was so loud in the skating ring you could barely hear somebody next to you and I don't mind rap but it's a skating ring why can't we have a variety of music playing. The music was terrible and it was just the music that the people working there wanted to listen to. Plus in some areas it just seems really dirty. My kids did enjoy the play area but I wonder how much it's cleaned? The carpet looked like it hasn't been vacuumed in a week. And when we were playing some arcade games some of them didn't even work.
