THIS PLACE SUCKED! Ok first things first... bring sanitation wipes. this place was filthy. we decided to go on a last second notice driving from south houston to get the kids indoors where there was somethin for every one. arrived. Place is huge! We walked in, there was a group of people around the front door some girl was being carried out by an ambulance. The manager waltzing around and arguing with the guests' mother. walked in the main door and asked for tickets in. This place is confusing. We paid 24.00 for our sons admission and that gave us tickets in. We had to pay extra for our skating as well. It came to about 44.00 with tax. We go to the skating place, its moderately full and GHETTO. Music is too loud and there is water buckets on the main skating floor. ( I will come back to this). The only skates they offered were potato skins. the toddler skates were all torn and tattered. My son had to change four pairs of skates because the velcro never fastened correctly. and even one time, the kid was in such a hurry to get to his cell phone, he gave two skates of different size! best part of the skating was the kiddie training area, just small enough to get acquainted to the skates. the skating floor was again full of water buckets for rain coming through the ceiling. and had MULTIPLE bumps and inconsitencies in the textures making it a hard skating surface and very dangerous. so we left that section. we moved onto the play area. we walked in there and signed my son in. for fathers who are always curious children at heart wanting to follow their kids around to check for safety, no dice. They are very strict on this stuff. twice before my son got on the play scape, two kids were hurt. there is a rope ladder walkway leading up to the playhouse in the middle of the room, full of holes and inconsistencies that any kid can fall into and harm themselves. one girl fell through the makeshift moonwalk and cut her leg open. the kid overseeing the section took tables and chairs and blocked off the play scapes inside the crawl tunnels. the place doesn't have the slides covered underneath, my son crawled under one, caught the back of his shirt and scraped his back badly. Next, the place STUNK of puke all over especially in the top of the slides, which are so worn down, you cannot slide down and can get easily stuck on. last, there was water on the steps from the ceiling leaking from the rain. So we went out to the foyer area where there was a ferris wheel. It seemed to be nice enough, old style three seater kind. We never saw the go carts or rode the bumper cars. My daughter and I ordered a funnel cake and gatorade. The funnel cake was old, reheated (right in front of my eyes.) and too chewy. So we decided to go to the bowling alley on the far end of the building, ok, they did a renovation in here, but where? I noticed the chairs and lanes were up to date. the balls were all old and seemed like they had been around since bowling was invented. We actually had some decent service in here. The kid at the counter was very knowledgeable and respectful. He smiled! The only person who had the whole time we were there. The bowling is timed here for an hour of bowling time. they have bumper lanes which are nice. And there wasn't a wait for them either. So we ordered our dinner at the refreshment counter. They had one copy of the menu, the cc machine was down and the food was OVER COOKED. I like a good charred hot dog as anyone else, but not in public. this thing was torched. I wanted chicken wings but they didn't have them. I remember thinking when the cook nodded to me through the window, my three year olds math skills are better than your cooking pal. asked for no onions on the burger, guess what... yep you guessed it. ok I have to say this though, there was a guy I guess he was a manager, he was wearing an orange shirt and trying to count cash at the drawer. He was so rude to the young man behind the counter working for him. Im sorry but if you cannot be nice to your employees in front of me, you do not earn my respect! they had bud light and michelob ultra on tap. some liqours were on the wall. the best part was the bowling. the lanes were even and easy to bowl. kind of narrow but nice. so to sum it up. this place was horrible. the staff didn't even want to be there. No one smiled, it was ran by a bunch of kids who wanted to play on their phone more than help clean the joint. there are no package rates offering all attractions to the common visitor. I had to wait on everything with my family here. No smiles, so welcomes. The staff were not clean. I dont even think I went to the bathroom here, too scared I guess... My wife says she remembers coming here 20 years ago and it being a nice place. I could see the potential. I really could. but for now, its just horrible... read more

I had fun there with my family. They workers were very nice! Tried to help us whenever possible. The skating ring was nice and cool but the actual ring has some uneven flooring in certain places which can cause you to fall, but the linger you skate you realize where they are and can stabilize yourself. I really had fun thought and recommend to anyone that wants to skate. read more

My nieces wanted to go ice skating here. They have new rule that adults who company with kids must buy an admission of $5 for each adult. I came in on Sunday afternoon and there are not crowded at all. Understandable. Wanna make more money but kick away lota of customers. So it is our last time here. read more

This establishment was a real disappointment. The staff members were very friendly but they were the only positive aspect of our trip. The "rides" are very old and in need of a complete overhaul, the 4 operational bumper cars smelled like burnt rubber while the kids were on them... 4 of the race cars were out of service which significantly increased the wait time... (they also had old airplanes and lady bug rides) Nearly 1/3 of the video games were out of service or didn't function properly...I had to hunt down an attendant twice for machines that took our money but didn't work. The trampolines were old with very dirty safety straps... If you ordered from the snack bar there was no place to sit unless you were attending a birthday party. The women's bathroom was absolutely disgusting; it smelled of backed up sewage, had multiple dirty toilets and urine on the floor. I bought 2 Groupons, one for each of my kids, for $9.99 each and feel completely ripped off. Maybe the skate rink and bowling alley offer a better time but I'm not too optimistic. Both my kids have "rides" left on their game cards they will never be used because I refuse to return to this establishment. read more

We had our daughters birthday party here a couple weeks ago and it was pretty awesome, lots of stuff to do all in one place from go carts, to arcades, to roller skating, to bumper cars, to a Ferris wheel, to bowling, and more. Prices are not bad at all just put what you want on a card, and swipe it to do anything. Would def recommend to anyone with kids. This is a fun place for the kids to play although they could use more staff to reduce waiting times at certain rides. If you're thinking of having a party here, save yourself some money and just get the groupon and don't do their party packages. I've hosted about 10 birthday parties for my 2 kids at kid places over the years. I have parties at venues so I can just show up and celebrate with my kid. I don't want to miss a moment by setting up, serving or cleaning up. This venue doesn't know how to throw a party at all or make their guests happy. The staff is unprofessional, unaccommodating and incompetent. I booked the fun package $24.99/person for the following along with option decorations (plates, napkins, cups, tablecloth and balloons): Host 2 slices of pizza per child 1 drink per child 2hr party time Table reservation 10 rides 2 activities $10 game card 150 tickets 1) We arrived 20 minutes early to find nothing set up. The pink plates, napkins, cups I requested were not provided. Instead some (not all and not what I requested 2 days ahead of time) things were placed in a pile on table but not set up. Thankfully I bought and brought my own paper goods just in case. 2) My host was nowhere to be found until 9 minutes before the start of my party despite requesting for them and the manager with guest services. When I needed the host during the party I could never find them. The venue has a very loose definition of dedicated host. 3) My family and I had to set up our tables as the host did nothing to help but lay the tablecloth down. I was not told to have to set up my own party when I booked the venue. I was informed that if I had additional decorations that I should arrive 30 minutes before the party start time. 4) I was told eating had to take place first but I couldn't order the pizza ahead of time. They assured me when we'd arrive, we can put our order in and it would be ready in 5-10 minutes. We did not get our pizza until 40 minutes into the party! I had all these restless kids eager to go on rides but they couldn't do anything until after we finished eating cake because only then would I be given the game cards! 5) I recut the pizza which was cut unevenly and served my guests. 6) Cake time... I had to tell the host to slice the cake otherwise I would have had to do it on top of all the stuff I was already doing that should be the host's job....clearing the tables of garbage after pizza and after cake and serving the cake to my guests. Seriously what is the point of having a host? 7) The host then tried to rush us off the table in case another party was coming but I had to remind him we only got our food 40 minutes into the party! Meanwhile there were plenty of other tables that could have been used for other parties. He got his manager to approve us staying at the table as long as we wanted. 8) Upon ringing us out in order to give us our cards I had to repeatedly remind them of my package and the details of the package as well as the compensation the manager promised me ($10 extra for the arcades). I would have rather had $10 off each kid for the incompetent staff ruining the party. 9) By only offering me $10 extra for the arcades, despite knowing their many mistakes and my displeasure, I was disgusted. What an insult! I would have fought for more but I was already fed up with the place and just wanted the kids to enjoy the rides. When one books a party at a venue, you pay for convenience. This place certainly didn't make it more convenient but more stressful, disappointing and stressful. Seriously, if I wanted this much aggravation I would have just had the party at home. Instead my guests saw me upset and had to pitch in through out the party. I'm sure they all had a poor impression of the venue and wondered why I selected it. If the venue didn't mean to imply they and the host would do as expected (set up, clean up, serve) then they should have been clear about it prior to booking because I would have found another venue for sure. Kids always have enjoyed skating at roller city USA. This is where I brought them to learn to skate and appreciate the time coach at the rink took to teach them. Classes are $50 a month two days a week. I purchased skates from amazon.com and quality ones so they could learn easier and get used to those skates. If you want to rent them they have them at the roller rink also. This place has the international office which is also pretty cool for catching the local sports games. There are also rides for younger kids and indoor go carts. I have not seen another place that has a Ferris wheel indoors. All in all you can have a good time with younger kids. Arcade machines are all over the place too so if your older ones are there get them a card with some money and let them go have fun! read more

Came to use a Groupon my husband purchased for bowling on Friday night 10pm. Last time I've been here was about 20 years ago when it use to be called famed city. I was pleasantly surprised. My experience at FunPlex was not pleasant at all. The staff was friendly upon arrival but when my party moved from the main room to the skating area is when we experience a problem. The manager Martha was rude and was unprofessional. For some odd reason when your party moves to the skating area you can not bring your cake or party favors inside the skate area. This place is disgusting. We came here to celebrate my niece birthday. First off the restroom had stool and urine in all of the stall and I almost passed out. My sister was charged $25 for the adults to sit at a table while the kids played just because she bought cupcakes in. She ordered 2 large pizzas and a roach ran from the pizza box. They lady asked which box did the roaches come from. Are you serious we don't want anything from here to eat cause where one roach is there are more. Waste of time and money. Took two of my kids here to play. The cashier claimed that their credit card machines were down and they were offering the $49.99 package of unlimited rides and games for $20 When we started out to play games, we quickly found out that it was just the blue swipe games on the unlimited game cards and many of the games were completely broken or partially working. Out of 5 air hockey tables only two were functioning correctly. Very few games were blue swipe and with so many broken with no signage or anything, it was not even worth the $20. The people who are working the rides are busy talking to each other, making the wait times even longer. Upstairs where the bungee trampoline is, has only one person working trying to strap everyone in and run it. And hopefully there is not ever a need for the worker to call for help because there was no sign of a phone or communication to be able to call for help if needed. Overall, the business needs a lot of work in my opinion. Instead of adding a roller coaster they might consider getting what they already have, in working order. read more

I went there once last year and vowed to never go again because it was so boring, but I decided to go again yesterday and it was even more boring. I tried to inquire about booking an event for 100 people here, but I couldn't get anyone to followup. I called 3 (THREE) times during posted business hours. The first time, no one would pick up the phone. The 2nd and 3rd times, I gave them my contact information and was told someone would be calling me right back. 5 days later, I called back to let them know how unprofessional their non-response was. Fun Plex Bowling alley is not customer friendly. They will quickly tell you there are no refunds and don't anticipate kind and attentive service. Make sure that you buy the lane for time or play during one of their specials because if there's a problem they will have you waiting for them to fix it even if ample lanes are available. If I could take away stars I would... My first time will be my last time.. Just moving to Houston, my daughter couldn't wait to go here!! She was disappointed from the moment we went in.. Most of the games were out of order.. None of the workers are at their designated areas to let the kids on the rides.. And when you ask a question you get a rude response. One girl tried to charge me $5 for a ride I paid for when I first walked in the door. She insisted it was an additional $5 and when I refused to pay again she let my daughter ride for a few seconds with an attitude. I asked customer service if that ride was an additional charge and they assured me it was not. So I attempted to let my child ride again and the girl wasn't there to let her on.. I seen the girl behind the ride dancing in the mirror, fixing her hair.. I'll pay triple the price to go somewhere more worth my time and money.. Very unprofessional and they claim there is no corporate office! I hate leaving a place feeling like I got bamboozled out of my money! They claim my deposit was applied to my final total and it doesn't show up on my receipt. I talked with 3 managers and not one was accommodating. I was offered a Fun Plex card for the deposit amount and when I refused all three told me it was applied it just shows up differently. Why would I return to a place where while trying to get my party started a man was assaulting a woman in the presence of children? No security was around and no manager stopped by to check on us after other customers stopped the fight. Not to mention the other foolishness I had to deal with while having my party. Firstly we drove a pretty far distance to come here thinking it was in sugar land and in a good area, but it's definitely run down and the staff is very racist and rude. We wasted $60 plus dollars and our Saturday night with our kids! Once our kids went to get on the lady bug ride. The lady running the ride is rude and told me my children needed to be wearing their wrist bands but they are small and we didn't want them to lose them, the rides before didn't seem to have an issue, then when it came to strapping my children in she skipped over them and was going to start the ride without evening checking! We left immediately after that. And while waiting in the line to the ride, rude comments were made towards myself and my husband. So to be blunt if your white you will be treated like trash. Never ever ever come here. EVER. Just encountered the rudest service I've ever experienced. We had bought the Sunday bowling pack for $35 which came with 2 hour bowling, up to 6 ppl, shoes, pizza and a pitcher of coke. Once the pizza came my sister and I, both helped carry the pizza and pitcher of coke to the table. My sister accidentally dropped the pizza on the floor, two slices fell on the floor, a few feet in front of the cashiers. I took the pizza back to them asking them if they could spare a couple of pieces or possibly a new one. The young lady looked at me if I was stupid telling me she wasn't responsible for my sister dropping my pizza. I asked well, it was just an accident. She gave me the rudest answer saying no, we won't make it. After that we had to go ahead and PAY for ANOTHER PIZZA I had already PAID FOR. Just because of the accident. No where in the whole place did it have a sign that warned me of them not responsible for dropped pizza. No to mention tons of rip off games I played. It is the first time I have been to this place and it is gonna be the last time. I wish I can give a zero star review. Honestly, I was so excited to take all the kids out to a new place. Worst service ever! Not only they are not helpful but also they are not met the basic need for customer service. I told them I have 2 of 7 yrs old, a 4 yrs old and a baby ones what packages I should buy. A weird look was starring at me and just said that you wanna buy the riders or play boards. Hello.! I was very upset and pissed off how the staff handle the food service part today. The line took too long (which was to be expected on a Saturday) but they only had one register open, when they open a second register they pulled people from the back to the other line while the ones that had been waiting 45 mins continue to wait. When asked to speak to a manager or get a corporate number, neither was given. The manager on the main floor said that this wasn't his section and he wouldn't help us(exactly what he said to the couple), then free food was offered to "accommodate" what was going on but yet nothing was received. Lastly, the food took longer to get. Overall, the whole food experience was a total bust and I should have drove to get food instead of waiting. Disgrace!! Urine Stench in the "carpet" and "vent system". Do not to business with this facility. I was planning on hosting an event for my son's 1st birthday at the end of the month. I reserved the desired package and time frame and made my deposit over the phone with a representative, who I might add was indeed helpful and kind. I not only reserved the deluxe package for 10 children, I also reserved a more private area for an additional $150. I just so happened to go into the facility the following day to view the private "cafe" area to get a visual of how I would decorate the room to my theme. Upon visiting, we saw the cafe area which not only has no walls so is not exactly private but it is super dated. I was fine with that just for the simple fact that this party is something that was put together last minute. I was fine with settling in hopes I could decorate it to create a better visual atmosphere. After sitting down for lunch with my family we walked around to see the different activities and games to find out that down two major game areas in the facility it reeked of URINE. I mean it was a super strong stench that was everywhere. Not in one area like by one game but down both game areas to the right when you enter. Front and back hallways. With me being pregnant I knew I couldn't stand to be there 5 minutes let alone 3 hours. My 5 year old daughter and husband even complained so I know it wasn't my sensitive nose. I then went to customer service to make them aware of my concern, which I'm sure wasn't the first time they heard this, and I then asked for my deposit back. Which after ten minutes of waiting I was told it was non refundable. $50? I by no means need $50 but it was about the principle at this point. I wasn't told of this major issue when I reserved my party so why should I be penalized? They informed me that they were working on the issue and they are changing the vents and getting the carpet cleaned and kept insisting that the problem would be fixed by next week and to keep the booked party space. Mind you I was about to spend $500+ on this party and even had my daughters birthday coming up the following month so from a business stand point they were about to miss out on $1000+ just for a funky $50 they wouldn't refund. I could go on about my experience but the moral of this story is. The owners/operators are poor business people that send these young women to voucher for them on a matter that's above them. I had my son's birthday party here a few weeks ago, and all in I thought it went very well. Although the pizza which is very expensive isn't the best tasting and the 1 hour time limit they provide you is less that adequate considering you have to have everyone arrive, eat, sing, have cake and be out of your table in an hour... Seems like a little much especially considering you are spending a minimum of $160 dollars plus tax. Another thing I didn't like is that you don't get the cards to to play the games for the kids until after your hour is up which definitely creates a very unsettling environment at table. On the plus side their kids area kept my 2 year old very busy and he enjoyed the somewhat over priced games as well ( lots of games are broken or take your money). His packed included rides which I think he liked the best but again there were just two that he could go on because of his age. Overall I would say he had a good time but in the end the negatives definitely out weigh the positives and I can't see us having another party there. read more

The grandkids love the place so I hosted my grandson's 6th birthday party there on yesterday. It was totally awesome for the kids. Here's my experience as the one paying for the party. 2 weeks prior to the party I called to pay the deposit via debit card over the phone. 2 days later the money was still in my account. I called back and was told by Chastity (the person who took my order) that the card didn't go through. We asked for her to repeat the card number she had the info wrong but never bothered to call back to confirm. I had to call her. It took 5 calls after that to get the email confirmation once my card was charged. The info was wrong again. The wrong party time and gender for the child. I paid extra for the red carpet area and when asked over the phone how long were the tables (since I was not using their decorations) no one could tell me. So I drive 20 miles there to take my own measurements. The day before the party I drove there again to assess the area for my decorations and spoke face to face with Erica about the package I was purchasing. Got specifics from her on how I can order my food. I was told I'd get 5 to 6 pizzas depending on the number of kids I had and each kid got 2 slices of pizza. I had 27 kids! When I got there I was told I'd only get 4 pizzas which wouldn't allow for each kid to have 2 slices unless they cut the slices smaller even though I'm paying $23.99 per kid. I WASN'T HAPPY!!! The hostess tried to say we didn't have that conversation. They eventually honored what I had the sense to write down during the conversation. Lastly my party was for 3 hours so I asked my host Kevon at 4 separate times to keep me informed about my time so that we could pack up. He said "Oh you guys are fine and we don't have another party in this area." I asked do we have to move and was told no each of the 4 times I asked. When my time was up Kevon came over to make sure we didn't need anything before he went to host his next party. So me and some parents sat there while waiting on the kids. About an hour later Kevon comes over and says my manager said your time is up so you can't remain in this space even though they didn't have another party and that was ok. What disappointed me was that he didn't tell his manager that He told me it was ok to stay in the area since there wasn't another party. I asked for a cart to move my stuff and was given one that was dirty that one of the parents cleaned while I packed up. Once I moved someone sat in that same area while charging their phones. DID I MENTION THAT I'D PAID $150 EXTRA FOR THAT SPACE IN ADDITION TO PAYING $23.99 A PIECE FOR 27 KIDS. The place is great for entertainment but I wouldn't do another party there. read more
