Best Chinese food! My family came in from Michigan last year and we ordered takeout. They STILL talk about their honey walnut shrimp.

Yummy local Chinese restaurant. The owners are super sweet. Our favs are the noodle cake dish and tofu with brown sauce.

Furi is a tale of two cities.... well more like menus.... 1) There is the standard, Imperial Peking Dinner for 2-3 people kind of thing going on here, well come on it is in Edmonds after all, and they need to feed the masses/locals. Lunch menu/style is opt for a couple of main items and get soup and fortune cookie... 2) The "hidden" side of the menu is the lost art of Hakka style cooking. We came in here after I saw on Yelp someone mention "Hakka" dishes, I thought to myself, "Self? Could this be the lost diner of Hakka-land?" Thankfully is was, we've been in joyful tears since dinning here a few months ago. Long story short our family fav shuttered its doors many moons ago, I asked the waitress, Angel, if the chef knew of the other Hakka restaurant in Seattle down on Aurora and about 100th St. To my pleasant surprise, she told us the Chef is the nephew of that owner!!! *Start tears of joy now*. I asked the Chef via our waitress if he could make our long time favorite, "Minuted Chicken". He said he could and well.... to end this lovely story, we come here about once a week and relive the joyful past experiences of the flavorful "Hakka" cuisine. The Chef came out after dinner and told us he had even worked for his Aunt for about 2yrs at her restaurant!!! A side note, they do serve generous portions, the Almond chicken is to die for, and the "dry" style chow fun, chicken or beef, is mouth watering. We enjoy all styles of Chinese food, and this place takes the cake, very well rounded, and yes, even if it is in Edmonds, they serve up some outstanding food, very friendly and helpful staff. If the Chef has the time, he'll come out and chat with you, asking how was the meal, somewhat of a lost art, if you ask me! One of the best service I have gotten for a mom/pop Chinese restaurant. The owner and chef (Young) is so happy and welcoming. You can see his passion for cooking and service. As for the food, it is flavorful and delicious. Having said that keep in mind this is Edmonds. Don't expect full authentic Chinese food. He has to cater to the demographic in the area. It has been a while since Covid hit since I have been to this location. My wife and I decided to try them to go. When I first went here customer service was above par and exceptional. The ingredients were all fresh and very tasty. We ordered their Honey Walnut Prawns. The prawns themselves, were on point with a bit of a crunchiness and sweetness to match. Along with the Egg Tofu w/ Mushrooms. Tofu was the correct tenderness and the sauce did not make it too soupy. Sometimes as we know with Mushrooms the sauce it self can be overwhelming, but was just the right amount. Last, we ordered the Mongolian Beef. The beef was savory and the amount of meat to vegetable ration was better then most restaurants. Most restaurants give you too many vegetables, but here at Furi, equal amount if not more meat! Came here to eat dinner with family and friends. It is definitely a must try. The food is good and prices are reasonable for this area. We ordered a few dishes , like the fried chicken wings, stuffed duck , beef ribs, a seafood dish and all came out really well to our taste. The staff is super friendly. read more

This is the best kung pao chicken I've had in a long time. Perfectly spiced, all white meat chicken, no big chunks of celery. I wish they'd add water chestnuts, but that's just a personal preference. I'd also love to see crab rangoon on their menu, but this is also just a personal preference. read more

Listed as one of the best Chinese restaurants in the area, I thought that it was maybe better than average, but not by much. We ordered single meal plates. The soups offered were fine, as was my beef with black pepper. But the enormous pile of almond chicken was topped with a bland yellow thick sauce that added only bulk to the dish. The disappointment was what was billed as fried rice, which had not a shred of vegetables or other ingredients in it. The eggroll tasted just fine, but the wrapper was not flaky but hard. I may give the place another try, but there are other Chinese cuisine places to visit first. read more

Egg roll was an egg roll... a little greasy but not more so than many egg rolls I've had. The Mongolian beef had more white onion than green onion, which I didn't expect. Glad I am here again even if we are just getting out of Covid. So thankful they are so good they survived all the closures for dine in. That said I don't think you could get anything here that is not incredible tasty. I've ordered from the menu, I've ordered off the menu, they make all kinds of accommodations for me with additions and substitutions. My mouth is watering as I sit and wait for my take out. Ordered the Almond chicken, egg flower soup, steamed buns, and cake noodle combination. I know I can't eat it all tonight. Super glad there will be leftovers tonight when I feel a second wind, and tomorrow for sure. They open for dine in July 1. See you again then. read more

Furi is my go-to when i am hankering for some chinese food for lunch. there are no surprises here. most everyone will be very comfortable with the menu and not puzzle over some new unknown dish. but if you encounter an unfamiliar dish, the staff will happily explain it to you. the secret here is that all dishes are literally made to order. you can hear the burners blasting from the kitchen. even the $7.99 lunch specials come out steaming. the obligatory fried egg roll is fresh fried and may burn your mouth if you bite into it too soon. i usually mock the lunch combo specials at a chinese restaurant, but i find them very palatable here. the owner's are friendly and happy to have your business. when the owner/chef is not cooking, he walks the floor, greets every table, and asks how one is enjoying the meal, and thanks everyone for their business. water is always filled. hot & sour soup and egg flower soups are delicious. the egg flower soup has a lot of egg in it. it is fresh and the egg is tender. the fish and ships under appetizers was a surprise to see on the menu. the fish was fried up very lightly; the fries were actually very good, and you get ketchup and lemon. i had to ask for the tartar sauce. i think they were shocked someone ordered the fish and chips. chinese beef chowder is westlake soup. i like to call westlake soup egg flower soup on steroids. this version of westlake soup in westlake soup on steroids. here are other dishes i've enjoyed: juicy pork dumplings pan fried dumplings egg tofu with mushrooms mapo tofu beef noodle soup deep fried chicken wings mongolian beef a few caveats: twice cooked pork: not pork belly. green onion pancake: oiler than usual don't be afraid to go 1 step higher for spicy. i usually order ma la if i want spicy peppery hot, and i am not, a chili pepper-head. read more

Had the kung pao chicken lunch special. I dont know what their secret is but this was the most tender kung pao chicken I've ever had. Portions were generous for a lunch special. The Food. This may very well be the *only* Chinese Restaurant. Still, it was some of the *very* best Chinese food that we have enjoyed in quite some time. The calamari and shrimp were fried perfectly with a very light batter and seasoned well. We loved how the calamari was seasoned and realized that we should have ordered salt & pepper shrimp as well. Since we were not that hungry, a side of broccoli was our only other order. It was delicious. The only complaint I tend to have when broccoli is served at some Chinese establishments is the size of the broccoli florets. Bite sized would be so much better and appear to be a larger portion. Finally, the standard brown rice option is actually a brown & red brown rice variety. I believe I have seen this type of rice (Three Ladies) in our local Asian Market. The Service. Outstanding. Very friendly and engaging people working at this establishment. We enjoyed talking with our waitress and the owner. When in Edmonds or passing through to catch the Ferry to Kingston, Furi would be a wise stop for takeout or a sit down. read more

First time trying this restaurant based on Google and Yelp Reviews of 4.5. Best part was the fortune cookies!! The Chicken Chow Mein and Pork Fried Rice had no flavor. The Sweet & Sour Sauce Pork sauce too much vinegar. The Honey Walnut Prawns didn't have the sweetness and the coating on the shrimp was soggy. The egg rolls horrible. Mostly just the wrap, no stuffing, and a weird spice taste. The Mongolian Beef had flavor, but I have had better. The egg flower soup was okay, but still lacking some flavor. We had the Egg Rolls, Pan Fried Pot Stickers, Honey Walnut Shrimp, Almond Fried Chicken, Steam Buns, Fried Rice Combination and Wonton Soup. I was really impressed with how fresh all the dishes were. This restaurant is small and very clean. The couple that own it and their staff are so friendly. The hot and sour soup is the best I've had in a long time. I can't wait for my next bowl. NEVER order Orange Chicken! This restaurant does not know how to prepare it properly. Just check ANY recipe online for Orange Chicken and you will find medium sized cubes of chicken in a CRISPY crust covered with orange sauce. What I got can best be described as large chicken fingers with a THICK GREASY layer of dough...with a container of orange sauce on the side. I am a native born Chinese and have eaten Orange Chicken in numerous restaurants in the US and in mainland China. THIS IS NOT ORANGE CHICKEN!!!!! Even the buffet in the 99 Market on Hwy 99 makes a better Orange Chicken! Furi's chef better check out one of many recipes for Orange Chicken online. Favorite chinese place in Edmonds/lynnwood area. The portions are HUGE and very flavorful. We liked that the deep fried items were very crispy but also moist. We also appreciated that they didn't sauce some of our items but, rather, brought the sauce on the side. That way our leftovers didn't get soggy. The staff was incredibly attentive and super friendly.
