If you are looking for that true authentic Southern California Skate shop I highly recommend swinging by Furnace. It's located along Valley View in a shopping center. They have an awesome selection of different clothes by everyone from Nike SB , Former , Polar , Stussy and many more . Staff were friendly and helpful. I watched the owner Randy help a first timer put together and build his first board. Very cool watching the kids excitement . He couldn't wait to go out and put the wheels to the pavement. Ordering online, I would choose to get my items shipped, but when I went through the "about us"section, I came to realize this shop is within 15 miles from where I live. Had to head towards Buena Park that day either way so it worked out. Message the shop asking them to not ship my items out that I would stop by, pick up the items and check the shop out. It wasn't hard to find either, it's close to the street view that I was able to turn into the parking lot entrance as soon as I spot it. When walking in, I saw a Nike SB Dunk Smoke Grey that I've been looking for, bud sadly the highest size they had was 9.5 at the time. While talking to Randy (owner), he gave me hope that if I just show up when a sneaker is about to drop, that they may have it in stock before they put it online. They have so many different items to choose from even if you don't ride skateboards, but glad I found a spot of one of my kids wanted to get into riding, I have a spot to spend my money towards. I looked around a bit and almost bought like five different shirts and two more sneakers but realized I had just came in to pick up the items I had ordered so put my wants aside, said my goodbyes and took off. Randy is a great owner, he talks to you like as if you've known each other for years, like a friend and not just another customer. I mean that's what I got from our conversation that happened while I walked in the shop, not as soon as I walked in like other shops, that make someone feel like they're all over you wanting to help take your money, but give someone a chance to take the shop in. This is a great LOCAL skate shop. Huge selection of boards and skate accessories. All at a reasonable price! Don't go to Zumiez or Vans or any of the chain shops when these guys will give you a better price and quality of service. What makes this shop great though is the people working there. They are very helpful and customer oriented. I placed an online order and messed up on the shipping. These guys fixed my order for me and even put together the skateboard I ordered (they didn't have to) so when my client gets the product it will be ready to go right out of the box. Came in with my two young boys and walked out with fully decked out boards. They were incredibly helpful, pricing is super competitive but most importantly their customer service was above par. They didn't need to take the time to teach my boys how to build a board, especially since they were busy. But they patiently explained everything to some very eager kids. There were three person inside the shop when I arrived. None of them were wearing masks, I mean, not even a cloth to cover (or have one in hand to pretend) Maybe because my mask or just being ana Asian, I stood there for about one min listening to the two guys having conversation and one of them was having wet cough before the third guy made eye contact with me. I was just there to pick up some grip tape and this skate shop doesn't even sell any skate tool. These guys are really cool. One of my Denver friends came to visit and wanted to experience the Cali board shop feel. I've heard of Furnace from my local skater acquaintances and decided to take him there. The staff was very personable and knew exactly about everything, even conversing about some skate shops and scenes my Denver friend had back home. I ended up coming back to buy my friend a store deck he wanted but couldn't take due to airport struggles, and while I had no idea what exactly it was I needed to buy along with the board, the shop guy helped me out. Small unexpected skate shop with lots of goods. I am not an expert, I needed bearings for an art project, this was the closest. I called to see if the sold bearings- $12 for 8 pieces. When I got there and said I called, a guy got them right away. They seem knowledgeable and nice. Bearings spun ok, way better than Amazon product I bought. I'm not sure of quality needed for a skateboard. They sold clothes, shoes, skateboards accessories and other items from a quick scan of the room.
