The place had a very nice vibe and seemed very popular. Classy decor but casual feel. The enclosed glass wine cooler was amazing to see. The wine glasses.... Well everything in TX is bigger. They were goblets and so pretty. Our server was Viviana, who was very sweet and polite. The bread was so soft and hot. But so much for two people, I felt bad not eating it all. One loaf would have been enough. I ordered a cucumber drink w/o alcohol: SO good. Mango salad with chicken for me. He had steak, lobster tail and a glass of Austin Hope red wine. Food was delicious! Next time we are in El Paso- we're coming back and making reservations to guarantee a seat. Plenty of parking but... people can't see nor pay attention to the faded arrows on the ground showing which way to go. I had to back all the way out of the row back to the entrance because a big 4x4 truck went the wrong way to exit! It was dangerous because of the sharp turn into the parking lot from the steer. Next time we will Find parking on the left side- because some people don't care.

It's a little hard to find tucked back in a little strip center. The inside is interesting decor with different theme walls. What was nice is that the staff was very friendly. It was close to closing time so we ordered fast and got our chips and salsa quickly. Loved the homemade chips and that they were still warm. Salsa was ok. I liked my fajitas but I wasn't as blown away with the taste as my co-worker. I had a few pieces of meat that had grizzle when I bit into them. It wasn't as seasoned as I was hoping too. The beans and rice were ok but didn't appear scratch made.

Beans and rice on the side are optional / modest extra charge - they are usually very good and worth adding if you're hungry enough. My favorite sauce is the Chipotle. It's got heat as it's also creamy...I would call it medium (I like spicy food.) If you're getting them to go, you might want the sauce and toppings on the side. They usually ask about that, but occasionally they might forget. Service is usually friendly and efficient even when they are busy. Your food is made to order, so it's fast but not instantaneous. Allow 5-10 minutes for pickup most of the time. The dining room is medium-sized. I would say it's a place to eat and go, not stay and linger.

We were the only customers around 5pm for an early dinner. We were promptly greeted by our server and she only spoke spanish (I used my spanglish lol). Traditional menus are not on hand so you have to use the QR code on the table. We started off with the yuca frita and beef alcapurrias for apps. Both were piping hot, tasty, and filling! Next up was the pollo pechuga for me (breaded chicken breast) with habichuelas (stewed beans) & arroz canilla (PR rice). The chicken was similar to chicken parm, tasty, and crispy. The habichuelas and arroz were also tasty and comforting. BFF ordered the pernil (slow roasted pork) with arroz con gandules (PR rice with pgeon peas). We did not opt for dessert nor any alcoholic beverages. Restaurant was very clean (as are the restrooms) and the decor is very warm, colorful, and welcoming. Our server was very sweet and kind, checked up on us often. Pricing was not bad either and I believe it was around 50ish dollars for all we had. Definitely recommend this gem! Side note: there's also a PR market next door! I wanted to peep in to see what they offered but didn't. I am sure it probably was like a little NY style bodega.

It did not disappoint! I also ordered their sirloin well done with a baked sweet potato (supposed to be better for you); however, I should have stuck with a regular potato (it was not bad but nothing like a regular baked potato). Steak was excellent. We did not order any dessert as there were some choices in the salad bar. Pricing was excellent (23.95 for the steak and your choice of side) with an extra 4.95 for the salad bar. Every meal comes with complimentary bread. Such an excellent value! Everything was very clean, with lots of employees and servers around restocking the salad bar as well as checking up on us. I have always liked Saltgrass (I still do), but this is also my top choice for an overall excellent meal and value!

We had about a 5 minute wait and our server John was on point. He took our drink order and brought waters as well in case. He also soon after brought us these huge bread rolls for the table. Fresh from the oven. We had a group of 6 so we ordered a potato skin appetizer (6pcs). It was perfectly cooked and seasoned. I ordered the peppercorn NY strip with steak fries. Medium cooked, it was so juicy and perfectly cooked. I can say it's in the top 10 I have ever had. So delicious. Can't wait to go back to El Paso. I did see this restaurant has other locations in New Mexico. So if I go there I will seek them out. Please enjoy a steak at the cattle baron.
