I love working near Fu's Garden. I can't get a more delicious, filling lunch for less anywhere else! The food is always wonderful and the plates are always huge in portion. I have enough for lunch the next day. The staff is super friendly and provide great service. Your glass will never be empty and you will want for nothing. With a lunch menu full of choices all between $6-$8 and all accompanied with soup and an egg roll, no one can come here and leave unhappy. Located in a shabby kind of strip center in a posh neighborhood, the interior of the restaurant was spacious but bland. There was one painting or piece of art work on the wall. That's it. Dining is all those elements: taste, touch, sight, sound. On a Saturday night at 9 p.m., it was deserted. That always worries me. So on to the food. The beef/broccoli was fine, ample in size. Nothing to shout about. The Mongolian chicken was kind of bland, only had onions, no vegetables. You want healthier brown rice? That'll be $1 extra. Service was fine. I live down the street and have ordered take away twice. Food is made promptly, is hot and they offer great portions. Family style comes with appetizers, soup and the full entree. I've tried ALOT of Chinese take out in Houston in a quest to find a decent place, Fus Garden hits the mark. read more

Great Mongolian beef and add vegetables and daughter loves the beef and broccoli. The hot and sour soup is hot. Did not like the spring rolls which have been changed. There is no cabbage or veggies but lots of mushy inside possibly potatoes or noodles. Not good! Go back to your original spring rolls. Great entrees though. read more

The good: good soup, great quality meat in all of their offerings (definitely something noteworthy in a Chinese restaurant), tasty entrees. The bad: somehow they are able to put the biggest slice of lemon inside of the water, and wedge it in so it completely takes over the taste. Only place I've come across where this happens, and it's irksome. Near ruins the water for me. Next, it's hard to come across a chicken dish where the chicken isn't fried. If I didn't live close I probably wouldn't have eaten here more than once but I do so I've eaten here a lot. The restaurant is large and not terrible inside and does have a couple tvs. I've dined in only twice and it was a poor experience both times. Even with an empty restaurant the server seems to just forget you exist. I had to ask the hostess where my server was anytime I needed anything because they will go 15-20 minutes without coming out from the back. Just very inattentive. I normally get the lunch special because it's the only way they will give you fried rice with your meal instead of steamed but now the lunch special is $11 so that's out. I always order the general tso which is average. The chicken is always good the sauce is always mediocre but every time I eat here I say I'll never go back but go back because it's close. I think the lunch special increase to $11 may finally be enough to never eat here again. The staff has never been and never will be friendly, the food is so so, and the prices have gone up so definitely wouldn't recommended. read more

This place is still our go to Hunan/Asian cuisine spot in Houston after more than 20 years! Locally owned, they use FRESH veggies, lean meat, white meat chicken, make many of not all sauces from scratch, and are fast for take out or if you're dining in and not wanting a slow meal. They have a large selection of vegetarian options and have always obliged without complaint or issue when we have asked for customized dishes or noted food allergies. It is an unassuming location and the ambiance is clean and nice. So many locals do take out or delivery you can probably get a table any day/time in the evenings without a reservation. The staff is always courteous and friendly. Did I mention they have a great lunch menu? They do. And if you're fortunate enough to work/live within their delivery range, they are the perfect solution for an office lunch delivered on a stormy or super cold day. First off I have not had the food, just poor service. I placed an order for delivery and received a confirmation that it would be delivered in an hour. 30 minutes later I got a call saying they didn't want to deliver 'that far tonight.' I asked why they would offer delivery to me if I was outside their area, and was told that I am inside their area but they didn't want to go this far tonight. Food is average or slightly above. Portion size is decent. However, the wait times indicated by whomever takes your order for pickup and delivery can be way off. I was told my order would be ready for pickup in 10 minutes. Arrived 15 minutes after placing order and still had to wait an additional 30 minutes. Staff continued to tell phone orders that food would be ready for pickup in 10 minutes the entire time I was standing there waiting for mine. The Chinese have done it again with this one. Hands down this has to be the best Chinese food in Texas. I consider myself "Blackanese" as early as I can remember Chinese food has always been a favorite pastime of mine, and Fu's is fu**in delicious. Let's start with the fact that they use white meat and lightly bread their chicken. I can't tell you how many Chinese restaurants I've been to where I'm eating chicken fat and bread not the case with Fu's. My coworker and I ordered takeout General Tso's and Sesame Chicken. My General Tso's was well marinated and had slices of jalapeños my food palate was mesmerized to say the least. With the lunch special we received our choice of soups, a lunch goodie bag with different sauces, cutlery, and a fortune cookie. It took Fu's 5 mins to complete our order and I ordered in the restaurant. Our food was still warm by the time I got back to the office (15 min. drive). I just finished inhaling my food. 5 out of 5 here from the customer service to the food quality. read more

#1 I AM A FOODIE! I have ordered from 3 other Chinese restaurants in this area since it is close to the office and this is by far the WORST FOOD EVER! I ordered General Tso's and pork steamed dumpling. I didnt even eat half before I threw my food away. How do you mess this dish up? The sauce wasn't sweet, it had some weird tang. The fried rice waws so bland I dumped soy sauce into it and that still didnt help. The dumpling tasted doughy and left a weird after taste and the pork looked like dog food. I have been eating at Fu's for years, and every time I try another Chinese restaurant I wonder why they can't come even close. I've had several dishes there over the years, but what I can't stay away from is the General Tso's. The Orange Chicken would be a second choice. The chicken in these dishes is lean and tender and always cooked to perfection. The sauce is absolutely delicious and plentiful enough to blend with the fried rice. The spring rolls are fine...not too much to say about them either way, but the hot and sour soup is the best I've ever had. The restaurant is clean. The wait staff dressed in wait staff attire giving it an air of respectability. Service is prompt, not warm and fuzzy. Reviews of the General Tso's chicken implied a life altering experience. Yeah....no. The menu suggested "hot & spicy". Again, no. It was not bland, it was just there. There is more hot & spicy in a Nikki Minaj video. Was delighted to see Mooshoo pork on the menu. One of the very few if not only Chinese restaurant to offer this favorite in Houston! Nicely prepared table side with experience and a little flair. Without the plum sauce, it was flavorless and bland. The pork was chewy/stringy. The fried spring rolls tasted of the frying oil. 2 of us ate for $33 without cocktails or wine. In & out in about 1/2 hour. I can see going to this place for lunch or dinner for a quick in & out, even for delivery, because of its proximity. Or because you want something fast to fill your tummy and you want to get eating out of the way. Make sure to get enough soy sauce or hot mustard to tickle a taste bud or two. You know, like the same reason some posters add ketchup to McDonalds hamburger and declare it scrumptious. Nothing memorable, nothing awful. I will return because of its proximity & if I am hungry and want an alternative to chain outlet gruel.
