Such a bummer. Their food ROCKS but their customer service sucks. I've walked out twice because of customer service. Once was because it took them an hour to have our food sent to our table. All we got was some beer, avacado rolls, and california rolls, and all the other tables that ordered after us were served. We asked them what was up like 2 or 3 times,, said it was comming, an hour later it came. Wasted our night. Next time we left because they asked us for our drink order as they were seating us, then didnt come back to take our food order or offer refills for 30 minutes. So rediculous. Another waste of a dinner night. Their food is really good though, I'll give them that, so I only order take out. Funny though they can seem to whip up a take out order in 10 minutes. read more

I get their crazy lunch special weekly with my co-worker... sometimes twice if we feel like hybernating. You get tons of food for only $15 and their chefs are actually Asian! I know there are a lot of sushi places on PCH alone, but I feel like it's just not authentic when your chef is not even Asian! It's like if I go to a Taquería, they better have a Mexican making my burrito, not some Asian guy. Anyway, I love their food, I don't get food poison from eating there, I like 2 out of 3 of their hosts, and here's why. My co-worker is a soy sauce hoarder, and demands many packets of soy sauce to dunk sushi in. But everytime I ask for more soy sauce from one of the hostesss, she gives me the snake eye and puts only 1 extra packet in the bag. C'mon man, we're talking about soy sauce here, not McDonald's honey. So I would definitely recommend this place to people who likes sushi without a lot of soy sauce. read more

Most disappointing restaurant in Hermosa. First they couldn't even get miso soup right. My god, I had a cold chunk of soy in my soup it was nasty. I think frozen Costco Miso soup would be better, if Costco sells it. I ordered something off of their special, okay it's low price but still I swear to god it was tuna fish from a can in the sushi roll the waitress says it was not, but I cannot imagine it being anything else it was friggin disgusting. I also ordered a dynamite scallop dish; it was made with mayonnaise very nasty really we couldn't finish, it was so bad. After the second complaint the waitress didn't come back to the table and sent a new waitress. The other dish a sushi roll that was off of their regular menu. I forget if it was a dynamite roll however it was off of their specialty and it was dribbled with a sauce that was a mayo and mustard mix terrible in a sickening way. Really we couldn't finish anything it was that bad. Finally the waitress came and asked us if we wanted a to go box. Hell no! I noticed many positive reviews I can't imagine why, maybe the chef was different and be the chef was from McDonald's tonight??? Here's my rule: anybody who doesn't care about their customers enough to serve better than garbage doesn't deserve to have a second chance. I feel like I had inferior quality, terrible service. First of all it's very hard for me to give any place 5 stars. Fusion Sushi is an awesome place. The food is excellent. Well prepared and the visual representation is one of a kind. My family and I tried various sushi. My favorite was the Toro (pink sushi on the picture) which is the best and most expensive part of the fish. It's like the filet mignon. It's the fatty part o the fish. My other favorite sushi was the halibut. The halibut are the ones on the right on the picture. My kids had an order of beef and chicken teriyaki. The teriyaki combo feeds two kids easy. We tried various rolls. One of my favorites was the TNT. read more

Been going here for a long time but their prices are getting higher than they should be.

My husband and I have been coming here for a few years now, ever since we moved to Los Angeles. This was our go to place for rolls and we've taken friends here when they visit. We've tried other sushi places nearby but like the rolls here a bit more. But recently, some of the rolls do not taste the same. In particular, the rock-n-roll is different. This was our favorite roll. I'm not sure if there is a new sushi chef or they changed the preparation for some rolls but it isn't a change for the better. It's a decent place for rolls and for the price you pay but we're still looking for a better replacement. read more

Awww yes, Fusion Sushi. The first time I ventured into this place I ordered food to go. They were extremely helpful in getting me seated so I could look over the menu and order what I wanted. I then moved to the benches by the door and waited. About 2 minutes into waiting they bring me a bowl of Edamame to snack on. I ordered the lobster Roll, a California roll and 3 Yellow Tails. I was surprised at how inexpensive the sushi was. I got home, and tore through that sushi. It was delicious. I've been back a few times sense but never sat in the restaurant, only ordered to go. However thats going to change very very soon. The food is excellent, the people were nice, and decor was edgy. A place I will be enjoying often. read more

Ordered food to go over the phone. I was told it will be 40 minutes till its ready. I was fine with that. I got at the restaurant 50 minutes later assuming I will pick up and go. Well I have waited over 25 minutes since I've arrived and food is still not ready. Mind you I only ordered 3 small single orders of sushi and one single roll. So presumably this should take couple of minutes tops to make. Literally I did not get the food that was promised in 40 minutes until an hour and fifteen minutes later. Not happy with the huge wait. Ladies at the front seemed to be hustling and very busy and they seemed nice but they were attending to everyone else seated and even after I walked in and promptly paid for my order they still hadn't put my order in to the chef. Super super slow service. Will avoid in the future if on a timeline. read more

I am a sushi snob. But if you know sushi, you know there is a big difference between a place with good and bad fish. This place has good fish, good roils, good combinations of food. The service is pretty rough. Takes a long time for drinks, food, check. It always seems like the wife and I are there for like an hour and a half for a quick dinner. Ive been there maybe 7 times and its the same every time so i live with it and expect it when I go in. The good part is you get good sushi without the outrageous price of other places. Also a good place for kids. They will accommodate. Ill be back there, but only because its around the corner. read more

This is my FAVORITE sushi spot in all of LA. It has such an eclectic ambiance. Their sushi is always on point. They have such a great menu with diverse sushi creations. The servers are extremely humble and kind. You definitely feel welcomed and leave with a great impression. If you want to try something different, I recommend the Pink Lady. It's spicy tuna sitting on a bed of crispy fried rice and topped with a jalapeño slice, cut into sushi. Their albacore sushi is delightful, unlike anything I've ever had before. My whole life, I'll never know why the albacore sashimi tasted like lunch meat. Everything from the tempura and chicken to the sashimi was either bland or had that prepackaged, synthetic bologna taste. I won't be back. Where did the bologna taste even come from? I have questions. read more

The food is good but what is very worrisome is that one of the people making sushi ( the one furthest from the entrance) did not wear a mask. The mask was at his neck and none of the other workers asked him to pull up his mask. This is likely not acceptable by the city and puts others at risk during times of covid. read more

I love sushi! I went to this fusion sushi location one for the first. Service was decent. I guess they were short staffed but it was incredibly slow. So they were not i guess great for some reason. So i wold say C for service bc they were slow but not mean. Food: BADD!! I got food poisoning i think. I didnt feel good for the next couple of days. I dont recommend this location. I have ordered from this place a lot pre covid. After covid they quality has really gone down hill. I got sushi from them recently from food delivery service. My family and I took a few bites of the sushi and threw everything out. It was f*** disgusting. The rice was really soggy and wet almost rancid tasting. The salmon was extremely dried. The sushi tasted like it was sitting out for 10hours in room temperature. The food was rancid. I called them to speak to a manger and complained. They were very puzzled why I would think the food was disgusting. The worst part was they denied even seeing my order from the food delivery service even though I have the receipt from DoorDash, they basically said we don't see your order so food was not from us. Nice just wipe clean of any accountability. They didn't even apologize. I wasn't trying to get a refund from them but was just letting them know that it's just sickening restaurants would provide that kind of quality of food when someone paid $100 for 3 rolls of sushi and salmon plate. They absolutely have to accountability or responsibility to their patrons. Definitely will stop going there and let everyone not to. read more

The other reviewers are spot on about the service being sparse. It took us about 20 min until someone took our order and another 45 min until our food came... by then, we were so hungry that anything would've tasted good. The only unique dishes were the Popeyes tuna (I never had fried spinach before, and Love the roasted seafood). The sunset sushi also tasted sweetly unique. The salmon collar was good value. Visited Fusion Sushi 8/10/06 at 8pm. It was a Thursday. There were 2 other tables seated. Food: 3.5 stars The draw of this place for me was the 3 pages of specialty rolls. You dont go here for the basics, you go to try a fancy new roll for cheap, which, to tell you the truth, got a bit old cause they abuse the california roll, making it the base of 1/3 of the specialty rolls. In the end i was just eating the outsides of the rolls and leaving the mediocre california untouched. Decor: 4 stars Plasma in the corner with ESPN, top 40 playing faintly in the background, 3 foot tall inflatable sapporo bottles hanging from the ceiling. The booths were a big plus. Service: 2.5 stars Big ole language barrier made ordering like a game. After we told her that a roll had an item that it didnt say it included on the menu the waitress made sure to come back and show us on the menu that WE in fact WERE wrong, and it WAS NOT HER FAULT. We ask for a side of about 10 asparagus for the baked salmon, and are told that they can give us asparagus at the mere price of $1 per spear. When asked why, the answer was "well, when a customer wants extra asparagus for their roll, we charge $1 per spear, thus 10 spears will be $10". Wait for it, wait for it.... ROFL. Cost: 4 stars. Cheapo prices for cheapo sushi. Ordered: Miso- a bit too strong, but tasty and only $1 yipee. Tropical Roll- california roll with mango and salmon on top. the salmon was in little chunks with a spicy sauce and radish sprouts on top. taaasty salmon. Lobster roll- inside was a lobster version of the california roll, with baked lobster and a creamy sauce on the outside. mmm creamy goodness. Hot & Hot roll. very much like the "suicide roll" at Club Sushi in Redondo Beach, but not as tasty. Still, happy to see it on the menu. Consists of a Jalapeno with cream cheese and cooked tuna inside nicely tempured (is that correct? tempureded?) heh. yums Salmon with $10 asparagus- doable. :( Pros: boooths, salmon on tropical roll, lobster roll sauce, Cons: uh, drone waitress, mediore california roll Overall: 3 stars. Good food, good service on floor. Clean. Where this place really shines is in their back room which you can rent out for big parties. It turns into a Karaoke room or rave and the service is great. We have had two parties here and they are great! Just beware that they auto-grat (which is normal) so if you've been drinking don't double tip on accident! read more

This place is fairly consistent and friendly, and for those two reasons alone, I give them the four stars and yes indeed, I am a fan. Here's a typical order: 1. Seaweed Salad Quite possibly the largest seaweed and sunomono salad combo. Very good and also, predictably tasty. I order this as a supplement to my sushi. 2. Calamari Tasty. Their fried batter has a nutty flavor which combined with the calamari, is a perfect "fushion" of crispy and chewy. Very good. 3. Sashimi A fresh selection of yellowtail, salmon and tuna. Thick slices and served on a bed of dikon. 4. Rolls: - Lobster/Popcorn roll (good, but inundated mayo and fried batter) - Eel avocado roll (large chunks of avocado with small pieces of eel) - Everything roll (with cucumber instead of rice: pretty good) In short, I regularly stop by and visit here. Their service is genuinely friendly, and the place is always packed. Is it a hole-in-the-wall sushi spot? Not really. In fact, most of their visitors are non-asian. So for sushi for the masses, it's not too shabby. read more

In the competitive genre of sushi restaurants, I can't believe this restaurant is still in business. My family and I have been to Fusion Sushi three times (we made the mistake of buying a coupon through restaurants.com), and each time the service, the sushi and the value/deal was subpar. Service-just to get menus, waters, chopsticks and napkins delivered took five minutes. We never saw the same server twice between taking our order, bringing the food, and delivering the check. Food-I have had better sushi at less expensive restaurants. For example, the albacore had a smoky taste to it---ick! Value-the restaurant.com coupon was not a deal because when you get to the restaurant and use their menu checklist for ordering, it says "sushi 40% off," but the coupon says "excludes 40% off sushi." My bad for not reading the fine print, but it was just another disappointment and confirmation that I made a bad sushi choice. Tick, tock, tick, tock--you're time is up Fusion Sushi. read more
