Great service all of the servers that were there were great to offer help on questions about the menu and suggestions. Cute little place that has great options and everything we had we loved! One of the recommendations was the Himachi maki, I had never had it before and it was great!

I finally got around to checking out Sora Sushi. They've been here for about 6 months and they are conveniently located in the neighborhood, so the was a bit overdue. We ordered 2 omakase and a Black Dragon Roll. It was all good. The omakase wasn't the best that we've had in the S.Bay but it was tasty. The downside with the omakase was that the nigiri pieces were not very uniform in size. The presentation with the dry ice was pretty for sure, but I'm more about the cuts and taste. Again, still very good, just not in my top 3. The roll on the other hand, and I'm not as much a roll guy, but it was excellent, actually probably in my top 3 in the S.Bay for rolls! I'll definitely be back for more! Prices were decent. Ambiance was nice, cute, and clean. Service was excellent! Check out Sora Sushi!

My food met expectations. I had the deluxe sushi combo and the Rock N Roll, and also ordered the chicken katsu to go.

No frills, just good sushi! Quality is key. Everything was fresh and the service was on point!

This Menu reached Redondo Beach in the Tuesday bundled circulars with the grocery store ads. Intriguing rolls... nice descriptions!

The service is very welcoming and friendly, as is the food well priced, good portions, delicious quality. We were told this Sora Sushi was a pre-existing restaurant that went through a 2025 ownership change and renovation. It's well lit, clean and nice inside.

I just want to say that this place did not disappoint! It was me and my partners first time trying it and let me tell you guys, the food was YUMMYYY. The food tasted sooo good, I'm officially obsessed with the dumplings, the spicy tuna and the sauce from the chicken teriyaki. The place gave me homey vibes which made the experience so much better! Judy our server was such a sweetheart. I can't wait to come back !

I dropped my car off at Pacific Auto Cleaning and needed lunch. I walked up to the shopping plaza and recalled there was a sushi place I have never tried but a light lunch sounded ideal and I had an hour to kill so I walked into Sora Sushi! There was a sweet gal standing at the door with a smile on her face. I later learned that was the wife and I think this is a family business!! She warmly greeted me and gave me seating options. I opted to sit at the bar The missus gave me a lunch menu and I looked at their standard menu too. Before I continue, I have to say I am a vegetarian that detests seaweed and mushrooms. I always opt for soy paper on my vegetarian roles. I asked the missus if they offered soy paper as an alternative and she was so sweet and said they do. Upon looking at their menu, I was so thrilled to see they had a Vegan Rolls section and agedashi tofu. I love a plain lightly fried tofu and white rice. The rice was beautifully cooked, tofu perfect (plain, no bonito/seaweed etc.). I then ordered the vegan roll with soy paper and added cream cheese (don't judge me!). All those items came out and tasted absolutely delicious. I think I found a new sushi spot that's close to home and the chef and wife (who was also cooking) were so kind and made some beautiful rolls! I look forward to coming back with my golden retriever and bringing my friends here!!

OMG, I love all forms of sushi and sashimi but rarely get rolls because I feel like most places don't respect the roll and just treat it like a mash up of different things. Well, was I in for a pleasant surprise when I met my friend (a fellow local) at Sora Sushi. From the friendly and attentive service ( thank you Christina - a born and bred H beach native) to the most delectable rolls crafted by the sushi chef who took his training with a legit master sushi chef. Seriously, you can taste the deliberateness of each ingredient wrapped together with so much care. And the presentation most definitely reflects a level of respect that is not found elsewhere. We were delighted that Judy ( from Tsingtao - yes the town associated with the famous Chinese beer) stepped out of the kitchen to check in on us. This place has the most lovely unpretentious local hangout/family welcome feel with epic food at pre-pandemic respectful prices that make dining here regularly ( which is my full intention) more than possible. Do yourself and your family and friends a big favor and get yourself to Sora soon and my suggestion is not to judge the restaurant by the shopping center ( the old Big Lot center at the corner of Aviation and Prospect) it is in because you will regret not coming in! Like Arnold says "I'll be back!"

What a welcome addition to the neighborhood! After reading several positive reviews and a write-up in our local newspaper, I decided to give Sora Sushi a try--and I'm so glad I did! We arrived around 5:30 PM on a Saturday and had our pick of seats. We chose the sushi bar, which turned out to be a great decision. Watching the chefs in action is always a treat, and we had the pleasure of meeting Lucas, the owner, and Asriel, the sushi chef, along with the rest of the team. One of the first things I noticed: everyone here is incredibly friendly. There's an easy warmth and genuine hospitality that sets Sora apart--so refreshing and appreciated! The sushi itself? Fantastic. Fresh, flavorful, beautifully presented--just really well-executed across the board. But the surprise standout was something not even on the menu: as I saw a plate of fried rice leave the kitchen (made by Lucas's sister, a talented Chinese food chef), they kindly offered me a bite. Wow. It was absolutely delicious. Honestly, they should add it to the menu--I'd order it in a heartbeat. Lucas also mentioned that he's Chinese, which got me thinking: why not incorporate a few Chinese entrees into the menu alongside the sushi? If that fried rice was any indication, there's some serious untapped potential there. Now, a quick note--the space itself isn't fancy. It feels a little worn and slightly disheveled, but honestly? The food and the people more than make up for it. By 6 PM, the place was packed and the takeout orders were flying--clearly the word is getting out. I truly hope Sora Sushi is a success. Lucas and his team are serving up delicious food and great vibes, and they deserve all the love they're getting. This is exactly the kind of local spot I want to support. Five stars!

Fantastic new Sushi spot in Redondo Beach! Came in for a light dinner. We had the Dragon Roll & Baked Scallop Roll. Both food and service were amazing! Greer was a wonderful server! Fun upbeat ambiance with classic rock music playing at a low level - not too loud. Great for date night and families with small children too. Visiting from out of town - highly recommend for locals and tourists - def will be back! Ask for a Sora Drop - you'll LOVE IT!

Proposed to my girlfriend this past weekend and hired Sora Sushi for a small party afterwards. They were fantastic. All of the food was incredible and my guests couldn't stop talking about the quality of the fish. Great rolls, excellent sashimi, everything was top notch! 10/10

We popped in here on the late side Saturday night for a quick sushi dinner. It's very clean, and the staff very friendly -- we were able to chat with the chef/owner a bit as well. This is definitely a must try. All of the fish is sourced from different places to ensure freshness and quality, and yes, all of our sushi was very fresh. The presentation of all of our orders was amazing. Will definitely go back.

Had dinner here tonight with my sister and everything was phenomenal. We have been missing inventive, unique sushi rolls at a fair price in the South Bay for a while now ... I am so happy this opened locally ! We ordered the large mix sashimi, double toro roll, and spicy sexy girl roll. Everything was fantastic and I would order it all again. The sashimi was delectable and had fresh wasabi garnished too. I like the no frills ambiance, it is casual and authentic. We sat at the sushi bar and will be back in the future. Highly recommend.

Nothing tasted very good or fresh.

Look I would've given this place 3 stars, but the customer service and wait time was ridiculous. Hear me out, this is my experience from last Saturday. So first it can be challenging to find this place, since the pier has so many level to it. Look for the elevators. When you get there, for the first time, you see a main line, well for what? Then you see other lines, well for what? Then you see an oyster line, oh. In order to determine what each line is for, you have to do independent research. From whom? Well the employee, who do not show case any form of customer service. There were so many people lost and confused. To break it down, each "Order Here" has their own area of what can be ordered by the pound and/or cooked. So not all lines are equal. There is a crab line, seafood boil/pre-seasoned seafood, oyster, clams, I think I saw fish and fried platters, which was the longest. So after much deliberation, an employee managed to wrangle the customers to form a line. Although his mannerism seems like I'm just done with this place. One might consider ropes to further avoid these mundane confusions... I got Ana's seafood boil mix, $99. It came with a lobster, dungeoness crab, peeled shrimp, clams, sausage and potatoes. The employee told me about 10 mins. I'm like okaaaay, only 10? I walked to their souvenir shop, nothing crazy or must haves. Just cheap Chinese things with their name printed on. I return in 10 minutes. The guy doing prepping/expediting the pick order was in a frantic state. Older white male, white mustache. He was running around, mixing orders up, couldn't even tell what customers had what. The employee that wrangling folks came to help him collect himself. So 10 minutes wait turns to 15, 20, then 30 minutes. I had 2 other employees check up on my order, they said it's not ready. Okay. Finally about 35 minutes it's ready. He didn't even call out my order, I had to wave my ticket. The first rule of speed of service, never over sell the time. If it's gonnabe 30 mins plus, say 40 mins, gimme a bs reason, short handed, etc, I don't care! But why would you tell me it'll be 10 mins?! So finally got the food. Flavor was pretty good. Lobster, was okay. I wished the shrimp had the head on. Clams were big. Sausage was good. Potato seemed like the diced ones from a can, they were so small. The crab, however, is the driest. Yep, for a place that exclaims "Quality Seafood," it was kind've of a let down. They taste like the bottom batch of the crab at Las Vegas buffet. You know the batch that sits on the bottom, they don't ever rotate because the employees don't care. So it's just marinating in its own dry filth. The crab was so dry I could put that in an Advil bottle instead of cotton. So now if you ask me, would I come back? Maybe, just maybe. Anytime soon? Nah, not right now. Also with the mention of a tourist trap, it's no different than Seattle's Pike Place and surroundings.

He made us feel completely at home from the moment we sat down. His recommendations were spot on, he was attentive without ever being intrusive, and when my girlfriend got a little chilly on the patio, he even brought her a blanket without us having to ask. The restaurant is definitely worth trying, especially because of its beautiful view overlooking the pier. The food was great, the service was outstanding, and the overall experience exceeded our expectations. We will definitely be coming back!

The tables were covered in linens and we had real cutlery- am glad it was nice for my boss who was retiring! There was unlimited tea or lemonade or fountain soda drinks. Easy valet or self - parking but $6 for valet is quite affordable. Nice view of the marina and some people watching from the event room we occupied. Audio and video equipment was working well for the speeches and other presentations. It's a cool drive through the hills to get to the marina. I didn't take a lot of photos of the space. Servers were attentive and friendly. Parking attendants were quick to bring out our cars.

They were both made with Wagyu beef, which has lots of flavor in the sauce. The pasta as very well prepared!! The service is great, very respectful and responsive, although we arrived at 2:30p on a Friday which was a holiday (not so busy). Loved what they did with the space. They have multiple tables indoor and a cute little outdoor seating area with heaters if need be. They have a few parking spots, but they're in the back of the building. They only have one restroom which was very well maintained as well. Overall highly recommend this place. Ivan was very helpful!!

The waitress taking my order had no personality and didn't check in on me after my food was brought over. I decided to bring my family for dinner, shortly after their official grand opening. I called in to ask if they had a table for four and I was assured they did have one available and would hold it for us over the next 20 minutes. We arrived within 13 minutes and were told that they didn't have anymore tables available and when I mentioned I'd called and one was promised to be held, I could see the "oh crap!" Look on the hostess' face. I was told once again that they didn't have a table available for us but we could sit outside in the cold, with no heater. Since I'd hyped the food up so much, my wife was eager to try it, so she asked that we sit outside and dine there; so I obliged. Service was once again mediocre. The food was tasting great when suddenly my wife spat something out; upon further examination it was literal broken glass! Seriously, broken glass! I immediately took the plate to the manager and he was apologetic and offered to "comp everything" or remake the dish. My wife was still hungry so she opted to have it remade. For me, the experience was ruined. I couldn't finish my meal, while my wife ate most of her remade meal. Once we got the check, my wife's meal was removed. I chose to not pursue the offer to "comp everything," further so I paid and we left. We've not been back and we've told everyone about our experience

Was looking for a spot to eat at manhattan beach and based on my trusty yelpers reviews this seemed…read morelike the foodie spot to try. They weren't wrong. We started with the ceviche in Clamato with pieces of crab and avocado served with a delicious tortilla chips. I absolutely loved the flavor profile and couldn't get enough of the Clamato sauce. Then we moved to the weekend only special sea urchin, which Stephanie's parents personally bring down from Santa Barbara for weekend service. I'm usually indifferent at best to sea urchin, but this was excellent Then we shared the Jonah Crab Fusilli, another winner. I was driving, but hubby ordered a banhattan and it was another winner. They also have some beer and wine options as well as a full bar. Though very full by this point, just couldn't resist the pretzel bread pudding. The bread portion was crispy on the outside and warm and soft on the inside with a delicious salty caramel sauce. Served with a very smooth and delectable scoop of ice cream. There's indoor and outdoor seating. If you want to sit inside best to make a reservation. We did not have reservations, but were lucky to get outside seating. Service was fluid with different people coming around to ensure everything was tidy. Really enjoyed one of the staff, a young girl who cleared our table and delivered some of the dishes. Loved her chill surferish vibes.

Definitely suited our sensibilities to be close to the heart of this treasure, plus it can get cold out there! When our friendly and helpful server learned that we'd never been to FwD before, we were both treated a tasty amuse, a Peruvian scallop, one of their specialties. Served chilled, absolute heaven. Simple, fresh, delicious, and very pretty atop its shell. We ordered an appetizer, a different scallop dish, Pan Seared Diver Scallops. (Parsnip-potato puree, brown butter ponzu, capers). So good. Succulent, perfectly cooked and devilishly satisfying with its rich, savory flavor. We enjoyed the one dish that have been on their menu since the beginning, Koshihikari Rice. (short-grain Japanese rice, overnight chicken dashi, shrimp, uni, blue crab, cage-free egg yolk.) Wow. So much happening here, and yet it's a complete package. All the ingredients meld together sumptuously. It akin to Paella, or perhaps to a stuffed Risotto, although the Koshihikari Rice was very much its own dish. The server swerved and mixed the egg yolk on our plate, and we loved it. Our strategy to try a number of dishes and yet still have room for dessert worked. Many great choices, and I doubt we'd be disappointed with anything. However, we had heard from the table next to use that the key-lime pie was must. Happily, they were right. This Key Lime Pie is just sweet and just tart enough. Though I am not Key Lime Pie expert, this one struck me as imaginative with its meringue colony crowding the pie's surface for additional dessert debauchery. There nothing overwhelmingly citrusy about it, and it was light enough to help you feel satisfied and just right. The coffee was good, too. This is a low-key yet lovely dining experience in Manhattan Beach.

I feel like the cost (with the economy as it is) makes sense. It is expensive, yes, but the freshness and quality of the food is so delightful, it breaks my heart to see the ratings go down because of it. Like many people in the reviews, I grew up with this place in my childhood. I used to come with my family to dine here, and it used to be SOOO busy. Getting seated with our group back then (7+ people) used to be an ordeal, but it was worth it every time. The most recent time I had went was as a party of 4, with my family and my boyfriend. The service was so lovely and sweet, the servers made us feel welcome right away and sat us by the window so we could watch the waves and sunset as we ate. My mom ordered most of the food, so I couldn't tell you the names, but we got lots of crab and a spicy sea stew that was very delightful. It was my boyfriend's first time trying the stew and he said he would come back and bring his family to try just that on its own. There's a parking structure that's attached to the pier, so parking is very easy to find. If you go during the day time, there are other shops and bars open for you to peruse and enjoy, but by the time we had finished eating, most of the other places had closed up shop haha. I definitely recommend trying this place at least once; the food, service, and view make up for the price in my humble opinion. Though, I feel like if you'll make it a semi-regular stop once you find yourself in Redondo.
