10/10 don't recommend this restaurant. With the endless ethnic and East Asian food options in suburban Mass this place shouldn't even be worth the effort to cross the street. Their food is highly breaded and deep fried, hardly Chinese/Japanese either. The sushi ingredients look like they had been sitting in a damp fridge for several days. Not authentic, half-asssed food; really the only saving grace is the fact that they have such a wide range of menu options -- but even at that I'd rather go to Panda Express for better food. we normally enjoy the food at Fusion taste, but last night was not up tp par. There was only one waitress for the entire restaurant. Needless to say the service was slow, as a result the food and "hot" tea was served luke warm to cold. Don't know if it was the kitchen or if the order sat waiting to be delivered. The food here is amazing and always fresh. Best crab rangoons and fried rice I've ever tasted. I usually go with the Chinese lunch specials but it's great to be able to order sushi if that's what you're in the mood for. Michael is the best he makes great reasonably-priced drinks and he's very friendly, as is the rest of the staff. The bar is small and intimate. A great place to meet people. I only wish that they would add some tap lines for draught beer; a nice IPA would be perfect. read more

I'm willing to pay a little more for better quality Chinese food, so I choose this place over places that are closer to me. The sweet and sour chicken had a good ratio of chicken to batter. The beef dishes had good flavors, and we're on the lighter side. As far as Japanese items, I've only tried the spicy tuna maki which was good. Overall, the food is pretty good and the sushi tasty. It's the service that gets the 3-Star rating. They usually have one or two waitresses serving the tables and while attentive when at your table, the wait can be lengthy. Also, too many times have we picked up our food for take-out and found that it was made wrong or something was missing when we took it out of the bag when we got home. And, no, I'm not going to waste 15 minutes driving back to get the proper order. So now we stick our noses inside the bag and check before leaving. Just to make sure. read more

How would you feel if you went to Burger King and ordered a burger and fries with three packets of ketchup, and they charged you for the second and third packets? Well, they do a really good crab rangoon here and a couple of times each month I pick up an order to go. I always ask for two cups of duck sauce, since one small plastic cup -- or one of their larger cups -- doesn't provide you with enough sauce to go through a whole order. (They often throw in hot mustard and soy sauce with a rangoon order, which is rather odd. That's like serving tabasco sauce with pancakes, but I digress). Except for one occasion when they only gave me one cup of duck sauce when I had asked for two, I always receive two with no argument or problem. Well, tonight I went there and got an order of crab rangoon and asked for two duck sauces. Then I was told that the order came of $7.01, which seemed higher than usual. The pretax cost of the rangoon is $5.95. I asked the casher, who usually rings up my orders there, why the price seemed higher than usual and I was told that I was charged for two extra duck sauces. I told her that I always ask for two duck sauces and I'm never charged extra, and then she lied and said that they always charge for extra duck sauces. She had mentioned that the extra charge was 60 cents for two extra duck sauces. I told her that I only wanted two total, so even if I accept this new charge, she should refund the cost of one of the two cups. She said that she'd give me 30 cents back, but first she goes back into the kitchen (ostensibly to tell the guy in back to only put one small and one large cup of duck sauce in the bag without another large cup). So she comes back out and I ask her for the 30 cents refund and she lied again and said that she already gave it to me, pointing to the change in my hand. That change was what I pulled out of my pocket when it was time to pay and I kept it in my hand. Unusually, I tend to refrain from putting coins back into my pocket until I've completed a transaction. The charge for the duck sauce alone would be enough to keep me from ever walking into this place again, but then to lie about giving me the 30 cents I was owed (I was actually owed 30 cents plus whatever the tax on 30 cents is) earns them a Yelp post, giving others the heads up about their shoddy practices. After this back and forth, the cashier tells me to sit down (mind you, she doesn't ask me if I'd like to sit down, she tells me to sit down). and that my order will be ready in 10 minutes I preferred to stand and, knowing that the order would be out much sooner, given the five minutes that had passed already since I placed the order, I chose to keep standing. Of course, the order came out literally five seconds after she told me it would take ten minutes. Oh, I have tried their lunch buffet before, and while their crab rangoon and chicken fingers are first rate, their entrees are nowhere as tasty as those served across the street at Shanghai Village. I also bought an order of General Gau Shrimp there once before and the sauce was thinner and less flavorful than any General Gau dish I had ever tried at other restaurants. The immense irony here is that there are three -- count 'em, three -- other chinese or asian fusion restaurants within a ONE BLOCK RADIUS. You would think that the presence of that many direct competitors that close to their own storefront would inspire them to keep their customers happy. Oh well, count me as a former customer, they're not getting a penny from me again. If you're in the mood for generic, tasty chinese food, try Shanghai Village across the street. (By the way, the older reviews here refer to a different restaurant, Mifune, which used to occupy the same storefront. I'm not sure why they're listed here under Fusion Taste). read more

The food was fine. My ordering experience was fine. The delivery guy? AWFUL. He didn't call to say he was here (I have a note in for that because it's just a lot easier). Instead he takes it upon himself to disturb my downstairs neighbor. Finally he decides to call and tell me he's there - and to complain about how he was waiting for more then 5 minutes and it was all my fault and he shouldn't have waited. I just said I was coming down and hung up. When I got the food from him he rudely commented the whole time treating me like I was the biggest nuisance of his day. Have been intrigued by this place when i pass by, it's a good location and the sign says they have live jazz on sat eves. Tonight my friend and i decided to try it. Interesting is a good word! Makes a great appearance, very clean and nice sized space. The menu is full of choices from the sushi to chicken and other meat dishes, so i wasn't disappointed (as a non sushi eater). I had the sweet and sour chicken which was standard good food. my friend had the sushi which she said was good but not fantastic. the waitress was not unfriendly, a little pushy when it came to the specials and as soon as i got back from the bathroom she asked if i was ready to order- um, i havent even looked yet. Also odd was the group of people who were there on a sunday eve. crowded around a tv discussing sports in very loud voices more appropriate for a fenway bar. Most hilarious of all was the music in this Chinese restaurant. We heard the theme from ROcky, the final countdown, and an old classical piece that is used as the theme music for the video game Jumpman (that one my friend told me). how bizarre indeed. Not authentic at all. Their decoration is all over the place like their menu. From pink lighting to fake bamboo. Their menu is all sorts of chinese and japanese food. The fried meats are gooey, their sashimi is not fresh, the noodle dishes have too much sauces, and everything is very oily. The price isn't even on the less expensive side to make it worth it. Argh. Another horrible delivery. Don't get me wrong - i'm not expecting gourmet food but the quality has been more miss than hit. This time the moo shi pork showed up wrapped in a plastic bag. The carton was split open and swimming in about 1/2 cup of brown liquid. The bottom of the container dissolved in the greasy liquid. It also tasted terrible - not fresh at all. I've been here twice now for nights out with friends and have been impressed. It has a nice atmosphere about it and Saturday nights have a nice vibe with the live jazz. I don't eat sushi so I can only go on my friend's reviews in saying they go here specifically for the sushi. I've tried most of the Chinese and Japanese appetizers and several soups. I haven't sat down for an entree yet so will update when I have. The big can's of Sapporo beer are awesome. As with most places serving complex mixed drinks, and places serving sushi, the bill can climb quickly but nothing is inherently expensive. The staff is great. They couldn't be friendlier or more accommodating. You know you've reached a whole new level of laziness when you order delivery from a place that's about 100 feet from where you live. Even the delivery guy's face had "Seriously, you couldn't have come and picked this up?" written all over it. That aside, Fusion Taste does the standard Americanized-version-of-Chinese-food-that-tastes-oh-so-good-but-is-oh-so-bad-for-ya just fine. Nothing different or special, but when you're craving General Gau's chicken or a Pu Pu platter, Fusion Taste is exactly what you're looking for. They also have a pretty decent selection of Japanese fare on their menu, of which I have yet to try. Delivery was absurdly fast...but I guess that's not surprising since it's approximately a 2-minute walk or a 10-second drive from the restaurant to my apartment. read more

Not good on several fronts. We are always willing to try new places and had been here when it was Mifume. They have added a bar when you walk in and left the sushi bar in the back. The menu was quite large with Japanese and Chinese along with sushi. We wanted to start with a special snow mountain maki roll, but the waitress said it would be 15 minutes or more because the sushi bar was overwhelmed! Saturday night, 7pm, less than a month old sushi restaurant, Overwhelmed???? Needless to say we did not order sushi and I have to say it ruined the entire meal for me. We started with rock shrimp tempura which was fine, but the sizzling Hunan lamb and the sezchuan shrimp were both pretty poor. The lamb was rubbery and had no flavor except this odd brown gravy. The shrimp was just ok. One of the worst meals I have had in a while. The service was all or nothing. At one point they were coming in pairs and then no one could be found. If you want really good quality fresh sushi this is your place. I love sushi and have explored just about every sushi place within a 15 mile radius of Porter Square and this is now my favorite. Ma Soba has been my long running favorite but they can get pretty pricey. This place has better quality fish for a much better price and no paying to park! Their spicy tuna rolls are to die for! They have excellent specials, I highly recommend the Yellow Jack if they have it. If they had more inventive rolls I would have given it 5 stars. The service was top notch and they are really some of the nicest servers I have had anywhere. Typical non Japanese owned (I guess Chinese owned) asian food. Sushi? No. I'd rather go to Toraya. Korean food? I'd go to Mr. Sushi (or H-Mart food court for that matter.) For Thai food, our old good Sweet Chili is just fine. My family ordered a couple of dishes, I got a Chinese dish. Nothing special, it tastes OK. For example, my family ordered Edamame (soybeans), a classic Japanese appetizer. It had zero salt taste and too firm. If you go to Japanese owned places, it is almost always too salty, because it's what we (Japanese) do. I ordered a stir fried noodle in Chinese section, thinking that it would be a plain food and "it cannot go wrong" kind of dish. WRONG. The dish was a bit too sweet. I've been to China for 2 weeks, and never had once a sweet stir fried noodle. It's typical americanized Chinese and very disappointing. The service was fantastic and we left a big tip for that. If I have to pick a Chinese food in Arlington Center, Fusion Taste is better than Shanghai Village, but thinking near-by, I'd rather go to Shangri-ra in Belmont next town, or get a take out from Great Wok in Arlington Heights. It may be a fusion, but it's a bad fusion of Americanized Chinese food, not so hot Korean, you-don't-know-what-you-are-doing Japanese. Our family agreed that we'd better not go back. read more

Meh. I've only eaten their food as delivery, so no comment on the actual restaurant, but the food is very...ok. Meat and veggies are cooked just right, not over- or underdone, which I appreciate, and the portions are generous and reasonably priced, but the dishes are incredibly bland. Like-I ended up making my own sauce b/c we couldn't taste any- flavorless.The only thing I've gotten there with much flavor is the dipping sauce for the scallion pancakes, but I'd recommend only getting them at the restaurant- the pancakes inevitably get soggy/chewy during delivery. Related, as others have mentioned, delivery can be super slow-an hour or more, even if you live a mile away. read more

Delivery is consistently later than the quoted time, dining in, the service is slow - we waited 30 minutes for someone to take our order and ended up leaving and going to a different restaurant. The wait staff and hostess were rude at our most recent visit, and we are very unhappy with our recent experiences. Very pleasantly surprised -- I wasn't too impressed by the ambience here (seems a bit stale) but the food, WOW, the food! I'm generally a bit wary of "Asian fusion" type places that don't seem to discriminate between Thai, Chinese, Japanese, etc -- jack of all trades is a master of none and all that. But the food here was excellent -- four of us came here and we split three dishes and were all very satesfied by what we got. We highly recommend the mango chicken, it keeps us coming back! I also ordered an Alaska roll which was quite good, the fish was very fresh and tasty. So definitely sample the sushi bar while you're there. read more

The worst service I ever experienced & I eat out a lot! They would not except their Groupon because I ordered the Duck. Yet there were NO limitations mentioned in the FINE print section. I asked for my dinner to be boxed which they refused. They called the cops when I asked the Hostess for the owners name..He was the Bartender standing next to her & said nothing. They caused a scene in front of their customers rather than let me pay & leave with my take out food. OWNER/ bartender said i had to eat in! The good: California rolls tasted great. The Miso broth was terrific. The chicken fingers were hot and plentiful, as if they reproduced en masse in their white cardboard prison. The bad: California rolls a tad messed up from being shoved in the bag sideways. The sauce would have been enjoyed more on our food, not with an open cap and covering the innards of the bag they came in. The ugly: The miso contained so much seaweed, I admittedly began to sing sea shantys. I am a fan of seaweed, but not to the point that I wonder "Hey, who added miso to this bowl of seaweed?" And on the topic of overdoing it, someone added tempura to the oil I was looking forward to digesting. It gave it a weird, foodly kind of taste instead of being the used oil I so craved. And I now know more about the digestive process of shrimp than I had ever hoped to learn. Surgery on your food's GI tract is always a nifty way to spend an evening. I'd also like give mad phat props to the delivery driver that kept shouting into the phone, not respond to my questions, and expect me to meet him halfway in the delivery process. Next time I'll know to go there, order my food and ride back to my house with him. read more

Ordered through foodler.com for the second time and it took the driver over an hour and 5 phone calls to get to my place. It's not like it was their first time delivering here and there were even very detailed driving directions to my place added to the order and the driver kept calling and calling and expected me to be on the phone while she figured out how to get to my place! It was so frustrating. The sushi was very fishy (gross), snow mountain maki that they recommended was average and their mango duck with eggplant was disgustingly fatty and oily. The food was very fresh and tasty in general. My concern was that I am gluten free due to significant GI issues and they weren't able to accommodate that. Tamari, a well known gluten free soy sauce, wasn't available and I had to eat my sushi without any flavoring. Not the worst thing in the world but I would advise the management to start accommodating an ever increasing population of gluten free people. Hence the 3 stars rather than 4. Certainly not 5.
