I have been to thousands of restaurants during my time. Beijing Chinese in Lexington, MA is one of the worst when it comes to customer service. Today Christmas Day my family wanted to do something different for dinner we decided to go to the restaurant mentioned above. Upon arrival no smiling, rudeness, I said Merry Christmas cold response back. I went to pay because it was a pickup with Apple Pay the reader did not work I used my American Express not work the response I got was I don't know some cards work and some don't. I had to pull out my hard card to use and it went through. I don't like to throw racism in my experience however this is not the first time having this experience with this particular restaurant. And paying over $140 for 3 meals. Not extremely happy about this experience.

One of the most impressive and delicious Chinese restaurants I encountered (in the US) was not in any metropolitan city Chinatown but here where the birthplace of our country all began: between the towns of Lexington and Concord, Massachusetts! Stopped by here coming back from a lovely excursion to Walden Pond on a misty October afternoon. We were a tad peckish having spent hours walking around the pond, exploring the autumn-colored woods, and viewing the exhibits at the Thoreau visitor center. As such, we found parking close by to this restaurant near Lexington and decided to see how the cuisine compared to our own Chinatown. We were amazed. Scottish novelist Mary Stewart once quipped: "Hunger is the best sauce"... she was right. At least it was hard to tell if being wet, cold, but reinvigorated by the unsurpassed beauty of Walden played a role in our assessment but we certainly ordered more than we could handle at one sitting! The food was amazing! The eggplant and wood ear fungus was superb. The spicy chicken shezchuan was hot both ways! (The way we like it but rarely encountered) The shrimp stuffed eggplant was innovative and scrumptious. Would definitely return to sample more of their menu on our next trip to Walden. Mahalo for reading my review.

Decided to pop in while exploring Lexington Center, and I'm so glad I did! I really enjoyed my meal here but will say it was a bit on the pricer end for what you get. The waitress was very nice, and the restaurant was very clean. I will be back!

It's hard to find authentic Chinese food (not chinese american food) outside of Chinatown...until you come here. My family friend who I've known almost my entire life owns this restaurant! She is one of the sweetest and most hard-working boss ladies out there. My family and I come here frequently not only because we love the owner, but also because of the service, dining decor, food, drinks, price, and the location is spot on. Now, let's talk about the DELICIOUS food. The food comes out timely and so flavorful! All of the dishes I have tried are always on point and make me feel like I'm eating food I grew up with! They also recently added a healthy menu which has many steamed items with more vegetables and proteins, yet so satisfying. I love a restaurant that cares about taste and health at the same time. We ordered the Salt and Pepper Small Smelt which are deep-fried fish that are thin. You can still eat the bone by the way because it is quite thin. If you love Scallion Pancakes or anything savory, fried, and flavorful, then please order yourself these at this place! These are extra special here because they are made from scratch instead of most restaurants where they heat up store-bought frozen sheets of scallion... If you're lucky, you may be treated with an off the menu delicious dessert: a fried sticky rice, sweet sesame, and peanut pancake. I can't forget about the bar! You can basically get anything you like here. The fish bowls are very fun too. There is big parking lot in the back with meters that aren't too expensive. In front there is street parking all over the center. The restaurant maybe a bit harder to find so remember it is on the second floor and there is a sign in the front. We prefer parking in the back and walking into the brick building next to CVS and a froyo place.

    Hot and Sour Soup. Excellent.

Beijing House seems to be one of those restaurants with a very high Asian following and for good reason the food is well prepared and quite good. The Hot and Sour Soup is one of the better ones I've had with a nice balance of sour, hot spice and requisite Chinese vegetables. The Spring Rolls were well above average, not greasy, just a very nice crunchy exterior and the filling was perfect, delicious over all. The Mapo Tofu didn't quite have the bold Mala flavor I was hoping for but the Silky tofu and flavor from the ground pork, spices and sauce were enough to carry the dish over the finish line. This was a very nice Chinese luncheon experience. I can recommend the Beijing House if you are out and about in that area and are looking for some authentic Chinese cuisine

This restaurant has been a staple for many who want to enjoy an authentic Chinese food experience in the area. My family and I have been coming to Beijing for many years and every meal has been memorable. Despite the global pandemic, the restaurant and staff have taken heavy precautions to ensure all diners are safe while enjoying their meal. They have plenty of gorgeous outdoor seating available on their patio that is perfect for the warm summer weather. One of our favorite appetizers is scallion pancakes with beef and side of cucumbers which is always tasty and customizable. We also ordered spicy cumin lamb and twin lobsters which were prepared in a dry-fried style. There are also plenty of vegetable dishes to accommodate your meal and the full bar is also a perfect addition to your dine out experience! If you're ever in the area and looking for delicious Chinese food, Beijing is the top pick.

The cocktails are elegant and tasty, my favorite being the cucumber martini. Dinner was awesome - the waygu dumplings were tasty and you get 5 of them so perfect for sharing. The soup and salad were not overly huge, so there was still plenty of room for dinner. The steaks were seasoned perfectly and temperature was just what we asked for. For sides we got the street corn with bacon (amazing) and the mashed potatoes (good but nothing special). For dessert, both the butter cake and cheesecake were delicious. In a single word....incredible!…read more Post 1917 opened its second location in the heart of Lexington. Service can sometimes be a foot note in a review but I'm starting with it. Service here is top notch. From the minute you enter until the moment you leave. Stellar. Our waiter, Luis, was among the top 5 servers I've had in my life. He was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and had the long list of delicious sounding specials memorized. He walked me through the entire menu and recommended the items he thought I might like. And he nailed it. The guy was phenomenal. Clone this man and sell him to other restaurants. Wow. Flawless service from this gentleman. This kind of service is rare. He's the guy you expect at a high end establishment. I can't say enough about him. I promise I'm not related to him, he was just so good I needed to call it out. Post does so many things so well. Steaks! Perfectly seasoned and perfectly cooked. The Long Bone (as they call it) came out cooked to the ideal color at the requested temp. Spot on. It had a side of 4 sauces to sample, each one unique and bursting with flavor. The steak was so juicy, it didn't need sauce, but you will need to try them anyway. Blue cheese butter? Yes please. Chef Jason knows steaks and it's a fact that cannot be denied. This is his second Post 1917 restaurant. The staff is well trained and it shows. Everyone seems so passionate about their job here. It shows in the food and the experience. The crab cakes, suggested by Luis, we're so good. More crab than cake, which meant you get alot of crab in every bite. Another perfect execution. Moist and flavorful. It's a must try. The wedge salad is a steakhouse staple and Post 1917 nails it. High quality blue cheese and fresh lettuce with bacon and tomato. Simple but awesome. Dessert was a key lime cheesecake. You can see and taste the key lime zest. I could have eaten 2 of these if I hadn't filled up on steak. The menu has steaks and seafood mainly, but they seem to do it all to perfection. I saw other dishes leave the kitchen and they all made me wish I ordered the whole menu. There was a seafood paella which looked like something I must try. The interior is huge and very well decorated. It feels so open and inviting. Overall... an easy 5 star restaurant. You need to go here. Take your friends. Take your family. Take your date. Post 1917 is what Lexington has been missing. Service is a shining star here.

Twice baked potato was smoking hot and a side of Au Jus and horseradish sauce. Here is the only negative comment. The horse radish sauce was more mayo than horseradish. Easily solved though, as my waiter brought me a side of real horseradish that cleared my sinuses, promoted hair growth and turned my eyes blue. Just the way I wanted it. The restaurant is in an inn and just being in the building is a pleasure. We went in the front door and asked where the restaurant was and had the pleasure of being lead to the back of the building through colorful rooms with vintage inspired wall paper. The green cameos on the front halls wallpaper were fuzzy!! The bathrooms were also a freaking delight. Great wall paper everywhere. The dining room was very beautiful with high back chairs and a fire place. They also offered dining on the porch which was really beautiful too - the inn is not secluded by any means, but there wasn't an overbearing amount of traffic, so the porch would probably be lovely. We ate inside though. My husband tried to go light and healthy with claim chowder and the seasonal vegetable. He also got an espresso. I just went ahead and got the burger with the salad. The burger came with homemade pickles which were pretty tasty. The salad had green tomatoes which were very interesting. All around I had a great meal. They also have an excellent selection of cocktails. I had a hard time choosing. but I ended up with the Rose Gold which featured some awesome rose gin. I love anything that tastes floral and this made me super happy. Also, plus points for the paper straw! Our waitress was also excellent and had a really warm persona. AND they were playing all my late 60's early 70's jams. I had a super pleasant time even if we didn't get the breakfast we were hoping for. Town Meeting Bistro is a beautiful space in lovely historic Lexington. This brunch had three seatings. We arrived a few minutes early for the second seating (at 12) to a long line and a 20 minute wait to be seated. Our table was lovely. The brunch included a buffet appetizer/dessert component and a plated entrée from their menu. The buffet portion was extremely disappointing, they advertised a decadent spread, including oysters, etc., but it was a very modest assortment of things (no oysters, a bowl of cocktail shrimp that was empty most of the time). I waited 10 minutes for them to refill empty bagel baskets (and asked a server) before giving up. The desserts were not impressive, fruit bowl was smaller than what I serve at family gatherings. But most notably, there was a constant very long line at the buffet and most items were continuously empty (even buffet plates were unavailable twice). There was no children's menu despite it obviously being an event that catered to families with children. There was an advertised bouquet activity for children, but by the second seating, the flowers were very picked over and the bouquet apparently only allowed for "three stems". Brunch did come with a mimosa, which was nice, but service was very slow (no fault of the server, just the chaotic and presumably understaffed set up). There were issues with two of the dishes that we ordered (one was the wrong omelette, another was the wrong dish altogether). None of this would have been bad review worthy, except that the price per person was $130! For that I expected much better quality, variety, set up and overall experience. They did acknowledge the mistakes with the entrées and comped a cocktail so I appreciated that, but definitely will not return (and am embarrassed that I was the one who picked this option for this special family event as no one left feeling good about it).

We also ordered the house Nina salad which had delicious pears and a light and tangy vinaigrette dressing. The waiter was very nice and I also think he was the cook since you could see into the kitchen and there were only two people behind the counter. Our pasta dishes came out nice and hot and we quickly devoured them. The pasta was cooked perfectly and the shrimp were nice and juicy and fully peeled. The shrimp pasta had a nice lemony and tangy flavor and there was plenty of sauce. The chicken cacciatore was also very good. The chicken was nice and tender and the pasta was super flavorful.
