Solid and affordable Thai. The food struck me as inauthentic (I'm not Thai, so just guessing really), because it was too similar to Chinese. But the reality is that there aren't many Thai in America, compared to Chinese, so it'll be hard to get too authentic, especially in Boston. On the other hand, since I'm not Thai, I'm not offended by the inauthenticity, and I'm just looking for a good meal. The food here is tasty, generous in quantity, and surprisingly cheap for lunch. I have eaten here twice, the first time was pretty decent, the experienec was good althought he sushi was just ok. I ate here the other night, ordered the Toro as some nice tuna belly sounded fantastic. Frist bad omen ws I noticed it on the specials board. Second bad sign was it took them a while to prepare it. It arrived on my plate and it was gray. This was not something they should have served, but maybe because I was white they thought they could get away with it. I was just getting over a throat infection and this was the first time I had eaten in a week, so you could imagine how hungry I was: and so I ate it. But for $14 I should have freaked out. The BEST sushi joint in the area.. And I do consider myself a sushi snob. I regularly take the trip back to Arlington for a Snow Mountain Roll (shrimp tempura with crab salad on top). I placed an order online last night around 630. At about 7 I realized I didn't look and see when it would be delivered. So I called and asked. Without asking for my name or address, I was told that they had two drivers on last night and it would be there in 5-10 minutes. 15 minutes later I called again. This time she actually asked for my name and address. She checked and said the order was on its way and should be there in about 5 minutes. Another 15 minutes later, I called again and she said she would call the driver.... Then he showed up. If they said when I ordered that it would be an hour, that would have been fine. But the aggravation and wrong information I was given was just a pain in the a$$. And the food was okay, not great. Egg rolls pretty good, General Gaus Chicken okay, Hot and Sour Soup - thin and watery. The other dish, that I can't remember the name (beef with onions and peppers) was just blah. This is a great little gem in Arlington center. They do serve beer & wine which is nice, and also hot sake, which was excellent. The wait staff was attentive to me and my friend, the decor was pleasant. The edammame was great, and we each got a soup before our sushi. I had the miso which was better than most places I've been to. The sushi was incredible, though, it was the centerpiece of a great meal. We split: spicy tuna, sweet potato, and snow mountain rolls, and then each got one piece of shrimp maki. We felt we had ordered a perfect combo of sushi when the meal was over, but in reality, it was all just so darn tasty and we couldn't stop talking about it. The spicy tuna maki was actually SPICY, unlike many of the restaurants I've been to, and there was a nice big chunk of fresh fish inside, instead of a tiny little blob of tuna you can barely see. The chef did an excellent job and I really want to go back as soon as possible. We've gotten takeout Chinese from here a few times. The crab rangoon are the best I've ever had (yes, I know they're not really Chinese). They actually have real crab in them, and lots of onion. The fried dumplings (I cannot get used to calling them Peking ravioli; we don't do that where I grew up) are greasy, but tasty. There's some sort of flavor in them that reminds me of the food at my favorite Taiwanese restaurant in Pittsburgh, so I don't know whether that's just coincidence or whether the cook at Mifune is Taiwanese. Wonton soup is nice when you're sick. Sadly, the couple of chicken dishes I've gotten here have been really bland and boring (kung pao chicken and one other similar one I've forgotten). We waited for my menus. We waited to order. Once we ordered we waited 20 minutes for our appetizers. We saw people who came in later than we did get served before we did. The lettuce wraps and soup tasted OK. The shrimp and chicken dishes were spicy and had flavor. The waiting frustrated us and then we waited for the check and then we waited to pay and they was more time waiting than there was eating. Also the Christmas decorations during spring season bothered us. Some of the decorations just hung from the ceiling,half falling down. This added to the poor ambience. we've always only gotten take-out here, and from reading these reviews, i think we may stick to just that. we really like their crispy sesame beef, as well as their dumplings and rolls. the husband doesn't like sushi, so i haven't tried it there. the problem with getting take-out is that we always want the same things :). someday we'll branch out more! read more

I bought a Groupon and right after they closed for renovations. Groupon expired and there was no rush to go in. I went in last night with my son and the place was empty. I should have been wary. I ordered a scorpion bowl for two and was denied. Waitress said manager said only scorpion for one, you can have another after? I have never been told that in my life. The food came and it was marginal at best. Dry scallion pancakes and chicken fingers. Rice was bland, General Gau was extremely spicy. When I went to pay waitress I showed her my Groupon she was flustered. The manager came over looked at it and rudely said she would not accept it and walked away! I told the waitress I would never come back and she walked away as well. I will never go back again read more

Absolutely horrible delivery service. We got delivery a year or so ago, and I remember them forgetting our soda and bringing me a completely incorrect entree. But then a friend raved about their Peking duck, so I thought we'd try again, since my husband loves duck. They estimated 45-55 minutes for delivery. That already sounded long, but OK. An hour and 15 minutes later I called... the driver was "on the way". Twenty or so minutes later I called again and the driver would be there in "five to ten minutes", and the reason they were late was that they ran out of duck and had to go to Chinatown to buy a new one. Huh?! In what world would they not call to ask if we'd rather change our order or wait two hours for it to arrive? At one hour 55 minutes after our order, I called a third time to cancel it. The woman on the phone called the driver (again) and came back and insisted he was at our door. No, no he was not... *I* was at our door. But, sure enough, 30 seconds later, as I was repeating to her to please cancel our order, he pulled in. They didn't even compensate us. Just like the last time when they forgot our soda... they just said there was no way to put the money back on our card. Unbelievable. I'm not sure what self-respecting chef would even want people eating their dishes COLD. It was NOT worth the wait. Hopefully this time I have learned my lesson... never order from then again! read more

This place is great! I have had a lot of different things to eat here. All of the Chinese/Japanese food has been phenomenal - especially the chicken teriyaki. I have also had beef and shrimp dishes, which were also great. The sushi is nothing to write home about, but is very tasty and fresh. The drinks are also really great and very reasonably priced. Scorpion bowlz are the best I have had. Some of the strongest drinks are produced here. I prefer the lunch menu to the dinner menu, because of the more standard fare, and I have better dreams in the afternoon. My lady likes the sushi here as well so give it a try. I went with my husband and another friend - we shared agedashi tofu and they had a salmon tartare appetizer, both of which were very good. I had a couple sushi rolls - the sweet potato tempura was really tasty and not found on every sushi menu. My husband had a sushi combo, which he said had very high quality fish, and my friend had chicken katsu, which she said was also pretty good. I went there for lunch on a Monday, the place was pretty empty. The staff was very attentive. We ordered 2 bento boxes and the Phoenix Maki, a special roll. The special roll came out right after our miso soup and is was great. It had almost a grilled taste to the roll. I would order it again. The bento box was pretty standard. The portions were are good size. You are able to choose the main course, I went with beef teriyaki. The issue I had with the bento box was the lack of selection for the sushi rolls that come with it. The box comes standard with what appears to be an all avocado California roll, usually you can at least choose spicy tuna. All and all I would eat here again ordering more rolls, but I would not go out of my way to come here. read more

I've had the chinese food here which is really good. The pu-pu platters and individual meals are both great. I was really happy with the sushi I tried last visit. I've dined in and had delivery. Both were good experiences. Though I prefer to go sit at the bar to enjoy a mai tai and say hi to Nicole the bartender who is very friendly and makes a point to remember you. She is sweet. They also have a two person jazz band that plays sat. nights which adds to the nice ambiance. read more

My son,bf and I dine in here often.The staff is very attentive and one waitress in particular goes above and beyond for my son( shes takin a liking to him and its the sweetest thing) I have never been disapointed, the chinese food is fresh crisp and clean( how often can you say that about chinese food) and the sushi is fresh. Couldn't be more disappointed. I've been here dozens of times and honestly this place is my absolute favorite Chinese restaurant of all time. I placed an order, drove there to pick it up, wife went in to get it, they say they don't have an order for us. They offer to put the order in right away but we didn't bring our wallets with is because I paid online. So we told them to forget it. I drive home and shortly thereafter I get a call saying my food is ready. Seriously???? I told them I was just there and was told you didn't see my order. I asked to have my order credited back to my card. Instead I got 4 phone calls telling me it's fault, I must have ordered from the wrong place, requesting for me to face time with them. I've never been more disappointed. These guys were my go to for a long time. I'll never give another dime to this place. All they needed to do was apologize for the mistake and credit my card. Great scallion pancakes and I mean great! Usually scallion pancakes seem to be something comes out of a freezer and it soaked in deep fried oil by the time it gets to your plate. But these pancakes were delicious! Usually I eat pancakes with sound kind of hot sauce, this place had the "Hot Oil" version of the hot sauce, witch isn't my favorite, but it was actually pretty good, very little oil it in. I also had the veggie lo mein and it was also above average The place turned out to be quite comfortable, we sat in the corner and I was able to lean my chair back against the wall. I don't really get the negative reviews. I definitely don't understand the animosity towards the delivery guy. I've ordered food online maybe 25 times and never once has my order been wrong. The guy hands me my food. Never had a problem. Maybe some of these reviewers are ordering over the phone. Or feel they are entitled to speak negatively about people if they didn't get their way. Arrived at 6:30 on a Tues. Night. I was the only one there. The waitress was indifferent to cold. The food was inconsistent, some was tasty, the crab Rangoon and hot and sour soup, some was not, the sweet ginger chicken and Peking ravioli and vegetable tempura. The tempura had an odd burnt taste to it and was doughy. The ravioli was undercooked and doughy. The chicken dish some how came out hot and cold, the chicken was hot but the veggies were cold, when I mentioned this to the manager he laughed. At one point a "regular" arrived and sat at the bar talking on his phone so loudly that even though I was on the other side of the restaurant I could hear everything being said. Finally, around 11:00 that night I Started to feel nauseous, sparing the details, I felt sick and had an odd feeling in my gut for 2 days. read more
