I have tried it twice during lunchtime and had the same poor experience each time. I will not be back. Ever. The food is just okay. Service is horrible - slow even when there are very few customers in the place (my companion and I were 2 of 4 people there the first time). And the waitress cannot manage one smile even when encouraged, just brusque and cold. There are plenty of other places I can spend my food dollars - this won't be one of them. read more

I was surprised. This little hole in the wall in a strip mall was really good. It is fairly tiny and is easy to miss. The decor, if you want to call it decor, is mostly advertising for their bubble tea and charts about making sushi. The restaurant was spotless when we arrived, about 90 minutes before closing. The lady who greeted us was not exactly friendly to start but warmed up quite a bit when my girlfriend spoke to her in Mandarin. Yes, the waitresses are Chinese, not Japanese like you might expect. We both ordered the Deluxe Combination Platters with a side plate of the Volcano Wrap. The meal started out with Miso Soup which was excellent. Then came a wonderful cucumber salad. And then we got to the main event. I am not a sushi expert, but the presentation was very attractive and appetizing. The sushi was very good. A little more wasabi would have been nice. I thought that the Volcano Wrap would have been spicy but it was actually very mild. But it was crunchy and had a very good flavor. The green tea was excellent also. And I don't usually mention restrooms in my reviews but their restrooms had very unique sinks. I really liked them and I think that they are going to be a part of my next bathroom remodel. read more

Wow, what a pleasant surprise. We are big sushi fans and the quest for decent sushi to the north and west has been nothing short of finding the Holy Grail. We've been to this place twice now and I am thrilled to say that it is really good. The fish is very fresh, the rice is good and the flavors are great. Lots of choices. The tuna and mango roll is fantastic. Too many of the specialty rolls have cream cheese but that's an easy fix. It may be a bit pricey for it's stripmall locale ($70 for 2 adults and a kid) but all in all it is a great place. Currently BYOB. They could use a few bland kids meals for my picky eater. He like the fried shrimp at least. We'll be regulars for sure. read more

Ok. To start, the food is great but service sucks! The owner barely acknowledges you or your needs and is borderline rude in the process. We usually do carryout so we can avoid her but today we opted to dine in. They got the drink order wrong and both our dinner orders were incorrect also and had to be made again. The sushi and miso are fine, and if you get a combo it's a pretty good deal. I do agree with another reviewer's observation that the spicy rolls were a bit drowned in spicy mayo. If this were just rating sushi, it'd probably be a 4. The stir-fry pepper chicken I ordered once was definitely a three- not a huge portion, plus it was more fried than chicken and kind of chewy. I liked the sauce enough but it was definitely on the salty side. Service... probably typical of an asian place, but all in all unexceptional (I think there's a bit of a language barrier.) The price is good, the service has always been fast, it's always been clean. The food has always ranged from being good to great, but nothing mindblowing. I like coming here to get some good priced and delcious sushi. The pad thai was also amazing. It's BYOB so bring your own sake and they'll warm it up for you! read more

Not a great experience. Ordered the shrimp tempura bento box for lunch. Miso soup was good... that's where it stopped. Bento box came out with only two pieces of tempura shrimp. Anywhere else shrimp tempura also comes with tempura vegetables. Got the sweet potato tempura roll in the box.. only came with 4 tiny pieces that were not well rolled. The staff is not trustworthy with your credit card information. Have always come here for the food as it was decent Won't be returning because I accidentally left my credit card or the not so nice lady didn't give it back to me. They had my telephone number on my pick up order and she didn't bother to call me. Low and behold my bank called since someone was trying to charge on it. read more

Smallest sushi plate I've ever had for $16.97. 7 pieces (not 7 sets, if you know what I mean - They usually go by a set of two.) of tiny miniature sushi and 5 - 6 pieces of California Roll. I finished literally in 7 mins. Waitress is rude. Very typical Chinese family operation you can find in New York City. Typical Chinese ripoff of "Japanese" culture you can find in any other places in the US and I am Japanese. Will not go back or recommend to others. read more

I like a sushi bar with lots of options, and this place was kind of disappointing. Not to mention, everything was overpriced. They offer some different kinds of rolls but they're mostly on the "specialty rolls" list which makes them more expensive. I enjoyed the atmosphere and the sushi boats that you get unexpectedly when you order more than three rolls, but I probably won't make this a regular spot. read more

We love this place. It's priced competitively and the food is great. We usually order sushi and have our favorites and find it to be very consistent. This is definitely a family business and they work their tails off. I'd recommend the fusion roll, with it's great texture and raw flavor. The volcano roll is good, too. It's cooked so it's a solid recommendation for the less adventurous. Please check this place out - you won't regret it. read more

Very small sushi rolls for the price. The spicy tuna and California rolls consisted of six tiny pieces each. The rolls were poorly made.

The sushi was ok, but the customer service was horrible. The staff behaves as though as they could care a less about customers buying their food. The waitress also didn't want honor the lunch special that was advertised in the front window of the restaurant. read more

Visited this past weekend and the food was not good at all. Everything (hot & sour soup, california rolls, chicken fried rice, & kung pao chicken) was flavorless. My husband and I went for a nice little lunch date. We were immediately greeted by a waitress with a smile on her face who lead us to an open table. The décor was not fantastic but was super clean :) She immediately took our drink order and gave us a few moments to look at the menu. My Husband decided on the Black Pepper Steak. He said it was good but not spectacular. I ordered the Tuna Tataki, I was impressed with the price only $5 normally it ranges from 15-20 depending on place you get it from. When I received it I realized why. It was a pretty small portion and I didn't really enjoy it. I have had this dish hundreds of times and have never had it this spicy. The salad was okay, the ginger dressing was delicious. My Husband did not enjoy the cucumber salad or the miso soup, but he is a lil picky on those two things. I also ordered the California lunch special and was very impressed with the special price. $9 for soup, salad and 12 California rolls. I enjoyed my food but wouldn't say it was over the top. This is a great place for some quick sushi or take out sushi. I prefer it over a store bought sushi from Kroger or Jungle Jims. If you go to eat here, don't have high expectations and you wont be disappointed. Yummy to me :) I have had wayyy worse and wayyy better. On a scale from 1-10 I would give them a solid 7. I will definitely keep this place on the backburner, and would return again :) The staff was awesome and very kind. The tables, floors and ceilings were also very clean. Also after reading the other reviews I will say the place was semi-full and we still had great service ;) Have a great day, go there yourself and try it.
