My husband bought 2 beds and a futon from this place and the service was TERRIBLE!!! They did not deliver the items on the promised date and were reacted in an angry manner when we complained. They treat people terribly and are extremely rude. After a few weeks, one of the beds broke and the refused to fix it, they said that my parents (who were sleeping on that bed) must have misused the bed - I guess my parents did not sleep in the right angle for the bed. They blackmailed my husband telling him they would only help in exchange for a good review, so BEWARE, many of the positive reviews are likely fake, forced from customers who needed ape thing fixed from this extremely low quality store. After doing a bit of research I was unable to find a decent sofa for under $300 as a gift for my daughter. However, we did find the Monterey Full Size Java Futon online at Futonland. The quality of the futon is better than expected. As a sofa, it has a high back and is very comfortable. The price we paid includes the mattress upgrade (1 quality up). It was worth the extra money. I can't speak to it's comfort as a bed, but based on the feel, I believe it will stand up to a good night's sleep. read more

A manager followed up with me about my prior review and went above and beyond in addressing the delivery and communication issues (apparently caused by my point of contact no longer being with the company), including refunding part of the delivery charge and personal and timely email. Ordered a basic metal futon from these guys. Paid extra for 'white-glove' delivery and assembly. They gave me a four hour window for delivery, for which I had to take time off work, and the delivery arrived 45min after the end of that window - not a great start. Then I realized the item was damaged - there was a noticeable dent in one if the futon arms, which although only a cosmetic defect, is very annoying for a supposedly new item and significantly reduces the resale value straight away. However, after some back-and-forth with the sales rep, they offered a reasonable discount to compensate (they also offered to replace the frame as an alternative), so it all worked out okay. read more

We ordered a couch from Futonland in November. Before purchasing it, I looked at reviews of the same piece on Amazon, which were all good. We were pretty happy with it until it started unraveling. A tiny string here and there, but then more and more, until it looked terrible after just a few months of regular use. I was referred by friends and totally love this place. The salesperson Vladimir was super friendly and helpful without any upsell. I went there on my lunch break on a Tuesday, was out 10 minutes later, and had my matress delivered 48 hours later over lunch. (the firm wool wrap futon I wanted was in stock). The delivery guys were even nice enough to call 30 mins before they came over. There is a delivery charge to bring it to your door and up stairs if you have them..but it's around $60 and worth every penny. My total cost for a super high quality Queen futon (without frame) was $400 with tax and delivery. You can't beat that! read more

Here is my sad story. Purchased 2 convertible sofas that I double checked were in stock by contacting the store, on May 22. Did not get them till 1st week of July. Both came damaged and dirty. One worse than the other. The slightly damaged one i received $100 refund because I did not notice the damage right away, and it took a month to get it. The replacement for the other took some time as well. And the replacement was delivered damaged. I made the delivery company pick up both damaged sofas - original one and the replacement ( cuz all this time the sofa was at my house). It took another month to get the full refund for the damaged sofa. So to sum it up, full refund for 1 sofa, $100 refund for the second, and a loss of $300 for the so called white glove delivery service. 1/2 a year later all I have is a somewhat damaged sofa. I tried contacting the store to get a refund for shipping. No go. I than contacted the shipping company and after months of waiting all I got was it's not their concern. They resolved their issues with the store and I should contact the store for further assistance. I decided to get off this hell of a merry-go-round. I WOULD NOT recommend this store PERIOD. I purchased a sofa bed and matching chair from them less than 2 months ago. They price matched the deal I found online and charged me about $35-$40 for assembly (that's worth it) The delivery guys were great- extremely polite and professional. They get the 1 star. I had also ordered a bunkie board for my bed it was the wrong size (my fault) and they took it back. It was in my home for less than 5 minutes bc the delivery guy knew immediately it was the wrong size. I called the SA Vladimir and he said no problem I would be given a refund and I could have a new bunkie board delivered at the same time as the mattress. I received a call that I would be charged 20% for a cancelled order. I refused to accept it and they refunded me in full. After the delivery people left I realized I did not have the pillows that went with the couch so I emailed Vladimir. He was surprised and said said he would look into it and get me the pillows ASAP. *4 days* pass and I call them back- Valdimir was not available so I emailed. I was told there were no pillows to go with the couch. I had specifically asked about the pillows on the floor model. I was told "of course they come with the couch". Vladimir apologized and offered me fabric pillows that would match the couch - I told I him I understand mistakes happen and that this was not on purpose. I also asked for a link to pictures for the pillows. It has been over 3 weeks and I have not received a response or the pillows. Maybe I should expect a 20% refund for their error? Obviously, they have lost a future customer- I'm going to get my mattress elsewhere and I tell everyone that is looking for furniture not to bother with this place. This company has the worst customer service and product that I have ever experienced. I purchased a futon from them online. I received it today and it was so sub-par and not as described online nor as shown in the pictures. It is extremely thin and not even fully stuffed. The places that are sewn for the "tufted" futon look are already fraying and tufted with a tiny string. I spend nearly $1000 for this futon. When I called to discuss my order and my dismay at the quality, and the fact that I had paid $200 to ship it to me, I was told I was losing the $200 shipping PLUS 20% off for restocking and I have to pay to send it back to the company. When I advised the service rep that I was very upset, he advised that I had confirmed the order. I told him I would not have ever dreamed of ordering this if I had known it would look like this. He then stated that this is "what happens when you order things on the net". I do not often post reviews online but I was so disgusted with the quality, service and loss that I am going to take by ordering from this company. I should have known better....a company who truly stands by their product offers better return policies than this and does not place so much responsibility on the consumer for a crappy product. I bought a couch from Futonland 1 MONTH before I wanted it delivered. Michelle assured me that it would be delivered on the date I specified. There was plenty of time. I even emailed them to remind them. Scheduled delivery day came (also in May like the last reviewer) and what do you know? - my couch didn't arrive. I waited in the house ALL day. I called Futonland and was told it would arrive 'later in the week.' The next day Futonland calls me and says that they 'found' my order and that the supplier had it confused with another order and that it would be shipped UPS tomorrow. So I waited in the house all day the next day. It doesn't come again. Turns out I have to call UPS to schedule delivery. No one told me this. The couch finally arrived 4 days later than scheduled. Long story short - I regret doing business with Futonland. [Edit] After I posted my review, the manager, Eddy called me and explained his position RE shipping and apologized. He also offered to compensate me, but I declined because I did get the couch in the end and I am happy with it and the price I paid. I therefore felt I should amend this review. Golly, I just went on their site and found a sample model at a price I thought was a little high as it had some obvious damage on top. So I chatted with them and ultimately after asking them for a little better price, I was ready to buy. So their site said free shipping and when it came down to the purchase, the chat fellow said I would have to pay shipping and it would not be the unit pictured. Say what!!! that's not right. He replied that an agent would have called me to finalize everything. So easily a bate and switch. Then he said maybe I would be better off buying a different unit. The delivery staff arrived promptly at 11am (during a 9-noon delivery window), brought in the futon in a box, unpacked and assembled the futon, and left my dad with specific instructions as to how to open and close futon. They left no scratches to my building elevator and hallway. They disposed of the box. 4) Great price. The men who assembled the couch (and who I paid FutonLand for) did not leave the key to adjust a headrest. Not a terrible mistake. But when I called the shop to have them return the key, I got a massive run-around. They said my couch wasn't adjustable (it is adjustable... there are multiple slots for changing the height of the headrest) and that I needed to send pictures to see if the headrest was assembled correctly. The key and spare rubber parts came with the couch. The key (which I paid for) was not left with the couch. The store would not return it. read more

I was moving from Chicago to New York, and had to order over the phone and have a futon delivered to my house. I paid an extra $40 for expedited delivery, so that I could have something to sleep on when I moved in. Having paid the extra $40, I was given an 8 hour window the futon would be delivered. The delivery company didn't show up, and didn't call in any way to let me know they wouldn't be coming. When I called Futonland, they told me they'd deliver the next day; the next day, there was no delivery, and no notification. A week after that, they finally delivered the futon, and when I called Futonland for a refund of my $40 (for an expedited delivery that ended up being three days later than the standard shipping!) they gave me the run around, told me to fax non-existent paperwork, asked me to call back them back because it was "too busy to talk", and told me repeatedly that they would have to look into and call me back later. No one ever called, I never got my "expedited shipping" $40 back, and I will never go to such a corrupt establishment ever again. read more

With space so limited it was imperative that I found an item that was not only beautiful but completely functional. Futonland hooked me up with the most gorgeous tufted velvet micro fiber futon. Not only does it look exceptional but it sleeps comfortably as well. However, the biggest reason why I will be a return shopper is Nas! Nas was the sales manager on the floor the day I arrived to shop. He was awesome to work with and any time I had a question he was quick to answer. Conveniently located and clean , this furniture store has it all. I was able to order online an adjustable bed frame and it couldn't have been any easier. I got an email saying that my order was ready and one of the sales representatives, Ben , was able to help me out a lot. He was polite, funny, and even carried my package to my apartment on 91st, because it was too heavy. Great customer service. Most ridiculous experience I've ever had shopping online. I purchased a floor lamp. Order went through and everything seemed fine, but a couple days later they contacted me under the guise that my order could not be processed correctly, demanding I call them to confirm delivery details. They then refused to send me the lamp unless I spoke with them on the phone. They wouldn't answer any of my questions via email (they just kept sending the same boilerplate response requesting I call them) and then finally cancelled my order. At least I got a refund, but apparently they want none of my business if I'm not willing to have them upsell me more furniture over the phone. I shop online for the convenience of not speaking to salespeople. I have never ordered online from a company that is not willing to communicate via email. That's not customer service, it's an obvious attempt to try to sell you more. Outrageous. read more

To summarize: they weren't responsive when I experienced a problem with my sofa and they sold a crappy product. I purchased a click-clack sofa from these guys for about $380 with delivery. I had no furniture in my apartment so I was eager to have something other than the floor. When the futon arrived, the white material was stained with a perfect copy of the instructions. You could read it directly off the sofa. It turned out the stain was permanent. This was the start of a very annoying relationship with Futonland. I called. They promised to call me back and they didn't. After a month or so, they sent over a replacement sofa. While the truck was parked out front, the delivery guys decided to check if the new sofa was stained and it was. It turned out the entire batch of sofas was messed up at the factory. and then another round of phone calls. They just didn't care about my problem. They promised me a $100 refund. Didn't send it. I finally got it sorted out. With the refund, the sofa cost $280. It's stained. THe material split. The vinyl is uncomfortable on bare skin. There are lumps of unpadded bits. It's a cheap crappy sofa that looks much better than it functions. It's just part of the crap that gets built in China and heads over here right to the landfill. read more

Employees were pretty nice. We came in to look for a bed frame, and they honored the yelp coupon ($10 for $20 coupon). They didn't know how to use it but they figured it out. They also thought they didn't have the bed frame in stock but did some computering around and looking around the store (I understand it's futon land, not bedlands so I understand if they aren't used to selling bed-items). Helpful, nice, it was a great experience, especially since they had that bed frame in store and we didn't have to travel to their other location. read more

Elvin was EXTREMELY helpful and found me a lovely bed that I had delivered and assembled in less than 24 hours - and on a Sunday to boot. With a low budget, no car, and 100-some pounds to my name, furniture buying sucks. After agonizing on Sleepy's website, I happened across Futonland and Elvin reached out to me through live chat. Within 20 minutes he sorted the whole thing out. I couldn't be happier with my storage bed and the $320 mattress is surprisingly not bad. The picture of my bed looked IKEA-quality, but Elvin assured me it was much better than that. He was right. The delivery guy was also great - he came 20 minutes early and did everything so quickly and neatly. What a nice guy. Do yourself a favor and go here if you're on a budget. Was really impressed that customer service called me to double check my order specifications and mailing address before beginning to make my futon cover. Much appreciated and really thoughtful. Product: Ordered a full size navy twill futon cover with a 10" loft, as I had measured my mattress at 9 3/4". It is a little big for my mattress, but I would rather have it too big than too small. I would be more careful than I was in measuring the loft and double check with their customer service center if you are confused as to which loft size to order. When I talked to customer service we went back and forth between a 9 & 10" loft--I asked to the 10" to be safe, but he 9" probably would have fit just fine. Material seems to be heavy duty enough for daily use by people and the dog. The navy is a really dark navy in the twill, but it works for us. FutonLand has one of the worst customer services I have ever encountered. I ordered Organic cotton mattress online and was later told that it is out of stock on East Coast and that it will be shipped from West Coast. Its been 2 weeks and I have no confirmation or acknowledgment that the shipment is on the way. Michelle in customer service is of no help and is always giving some or the other excuses. Update: I now spoke to Eddie, he is the manager and really good! he made sure that I got my futon frame and futon mattress before my guests arrived. and that brought a great sigh of relief for us. I've had really mixed experiences with this company. My frame/mattress/box spring set was great for the price, but a futon I ordered later was a total disaster. The color of the futon was not as described, the seat is so uncomfortable no one sits on it, and to top things off it arrived with a rip at one of the seams. The service was polite enough, but whatever you do try the futons before you order them! Also, when expecting a delivery never have your phone on vibrate because if you miss they will not ring the buzzer and will charge you the full redelivery fee. read more

About 6 months ago I bought two futons from futonland, one of them has worked out great!!! However, the other one broke only after a few months of usage. The man I spoke to right off the bat, Elvin, was super helpful and had me send pictures then forwarded my information to the manufacturer. After finding out that the manufacturer would not honor their warranty I'm very grateful that Futonland stepped in to help. The manager, Eddie, was very understanding towards my situation. As you can imagine, buying a futon and having it break so soon was very disappointing. Even though he did not have to help (since it is a manufacturing issue), I was able to get a much better quality futon and slightly more expensive with shipping and assembly included for only $100. I know if I had dealt with any other company I would've likely had to buy a new futon and pay full price. Definitely recommend!! read more
