Where else can you get a huge margarita and two yummy tacos at 11pm for under $10? Fuzzy's has fabulous food and great hours.. a nice stop before or after the bar, depending on your preference. The atmosphere's a lot of fun, with an all-welcoming feel. My last visit there was the first time I realized they had a back patio area.. it was large and awesome, because you can smoke and don't have to have car lights in your eyes every 5 minutes like on the front patio. The cooking staff's great. Super fast, like ZOOOM here's your delicious food, eat and enjoy. The cashiers aren't always the friendliest, but they're not rude either. They just are the kind that stare at you while you're figuring out what to order. I personally hate that, but maybe it's unavoidable. To me...Fuzzy's is one of those places where a mini-van full of soccer players, all bright-eyed and bushy tailed run into after they just won (or lost) a game. Followed by an entourage of moms in athletic gear, and dads in cardigans. That being said, Fuzzy's is probably the most family friendly Mexican restaurant in your area. Do they have good drinks for us 21 and up? You bet they do, so don't worry about the kids so much, that sweet ambrosia will drown out their preteen yelps (Hey! hah) and have you focused on your food. Now lets focus on the food. Maybe i'm just a struggling college student, but $6.50ish is kind of a lot for a "Jumbo" burrito. For that I would've expected at least one side. I didn't pay attention to my partner's price on her quesadilla, but it was about the size of something I could've gotten at Taco Bell. Then I checked out the nutritional facts, and dear Barbra that was a mistake. The burrito was just shy of 1000 calories, and the quesdilla was well over 1200. And no, we aren't trying to go up a weight class for wrestling season. Do I like the way Fuzzy's tastes? Hell Yeah! Would I go back any time soon? I was stuck in Denton awhile back and my friends had highly recommended this place. I was surprised I never heard of it when I lived in Denton (only for two years). One thing I would recommend if you're stuck in Denton and need something to check out, don't go anywhere in the morning. I wasn't really stuck in Denton, it's just I had an errand to do and I had to go all the way from Dallas to Denton. So I didn't want to waste my time doing that one thing that only takes less than half an hour. I wanted a reason to stay rather than quickly leave because you don't want to leave without really appreciating what Denton has to offer if you visit, in my opinion. So I went to Fuzzy's and it was morning. I really feel like I missed out. My errand took two visits to Denton and both times were in the morning. While I have to say the breakfast is excellent, I highly recommend huevos rancheros with salsa if you like spicy stuff, and the tacos are cheap, the morning isn't ever a good vibe. It's pretty empty and bland there. Whenever I go somewhere I like to be able to feel like I'm a part of an event or gather, even if I'm alone. The staff s great though and I'm sure I would've enjoyed it more on a more eventful night. Not the place to go for the morning though due to vibe. read more

This is probably one of my favorite taco places that I have ever visited. If you are ever, for some reason, in the vicinity of Denton, Texas - check this place out! The servings were large and tasty. For $13 I got three tacos, guacamole and chips, and a large beer. They basically gave me a chalice of beer. They do things bigger in Texas, I hear. Tacos are hard to mess up. this is a taco shop. you get exactly what you expect when you come here. Being that you expect good cheap tacos i'd say that's worthy of four stars. They also have burritos, which is generally just a bigger taco with rice and/or beans if you think about it. this is where they mess up: you have to request the rice/beans. its still a filling serving of food, but i feel like they are being stingy. Cost them a star. most taco shops/mexican food restaurants are pretty predictable. This place is just as tasty as rusty's taco shop down the corner. Update 10/1 I get tacos for me and my family here extremely often but we're really considering not continuing business with this location if this continues. It's confusing keeping the openly uncooperative staff. The thin girl with black hair in the kitchen that's always angry was out of fish. Didn't say anything and was literally going to keep not informing me or the manager and continue making other people's orders. I'm pretty sure she's racist because she gives me problems and an underdeveloped attitude every time I'm at this location. After waiting almost 20 minutes the manager notices I'm not getting my order still and asks me my to go order # and when he asks the girl she finally decides to tell him. I then have to change the order completely to tacos we're really not that fond of. The manager gives me one free taco and queso card but this still is really not acceptable. After about 35-40 something minutes total wait time I finally get my order. Ask the thin black hair guy in the kitchen that also clearly has an underdeveloped attitude for at least 16 habanero packets, he doesn't give that many and immediately turns his back to me staying this way while I'm standing there asking for more. The always angry and rude girl clearly sees me and will not help me, she's literally four feet away looking at me and quickly looking away. The young man from the front that doesn't have a malfunctioning attitude or issues with customer service walks from the front register to the kitchen and on his way back out hears and chooses to respond like a not petty person and gets the rest of the habanero packets. He chooses to do a good job, stay busy, and always has had a great attitude. The mahi-mahi tacos we received barely had any meat on the tacos when I get them home. If it's up to my family we're not returning here, I may try again but I'm honestly not sure after this. I'm very confused why the two with the extremely petty behavior are still employed. read more

The food is different, but good. It's definitely not authentic Mexican food, but it's not Tex-mex either. It's almost like a cross between the two. The tacos were great and full of flavor. The tamales were not as good as ones from an authentic tamale restaurant, but they were much better than any I've had in Tex-mex restaurants or Mexican restaurants that were not really authentic. The queso on the other hand tasted like warm milk, which was not so great. The employees were very friendly. It's a very casual atmosphere with cheap prices (taco, enchilada & 2 sides for $6). Good cheap food, perfect for college students. Don't expect authentic Mexican here. I usually get their fish tempura tacos and the chips and queso. They have hot sauce at the tables which are basic cayenne pepper and vinegar mixture type, but I still like it. read more

As I had heard, Fuzzy's proved to be a GREAT taco spot. I had a shrimp, special ground beef, and fish tacos. The fish taco is the only one I probably won't order again. it was ok, but I prefer my fish tacos a little crispier. The shrimp taco was AMAZING, and the special ground beef very good. There's nothing distinctly wrong with Fuzzy's. The tacos are alright and the prices aren't exorbitant, but I don't fawn over this place like others do. I feel like you can do a lot better than Fuzzy's. Denton may not be the Mecca of Mexican fast food, but the fascination that others have with Fuzzy's bewilders me. The main attraction for Fuzzy's is that tacos and they're decent. I usually get the soft chicken tacos and they're flavorful without being overwhelming. I can't say that I've ever been amazed by the selection and I feel like I've been disappointed as much as I've been satisfied. Ami has ordered the nachos before and we were truly flabbergasted by what they thought nachos were. A little melted and shredded cheese with none of the expected extras left us feeling cheated. Just by glancing at the menu on my most recent visit, I think they may be changing a few things around (for the better). I'd like to think that Fuzzy's is aware of their shortcomings and is willing to fix some of the problems that they have. Only time will really tell if this will come true. read more

This was my first time ever at a Fuzzy's Taco Shop! I ordered the chips & queso, fajita chicken quesadilla, and a screwdriver frozen margarita! The service was good and fast! The vibe inside was a bit more quiet than I was expecting but it was nice to be able to have a conversation with my boyfriend in front of me. I'd have to say the screwdriver was my favorite part of my whole order! It was delicious! I had never ordered one before but I prefer it over a classic margarita because it's made with vodka instead of tequila which was great! It wasn't too frozen but not runny either so the consistency was nice. The queso was a creamy thick cheese and was average tasting. The quesadilla was delicious! I was unaware that there would be tomatoes inside the quesadilla but the sauce and cheese masked it so I didn't mind. Overall I gave this location 4 stars because I thought it could've been cleaner and the service could've been a bit more friendly but the food and margarita were great! read more

The clerk at the register added, without my permission, a $2.00 tip. I do not tip in restaurants where I have to wait in line, get my own drink and come to the counter to get my food when it is ready and then clean up my table afterwards, which I do voluntarily. Of all the Fuzzy's I have been to -- TCU, Arlington and now Denton -- this is by far the coolest location. TCU has the charm as the original, but this has the double patio, cool feel. Fuzzy's is our go-to place. We go out to eat way more than is necessary and more than half of the time we end up at fuzzy's. Whenever we are debating: "should we go to ___ or Fuzzy's," we ALWAYS end up at Fuzzy's. They have a pretty large menu but we always get the tacos. We've tried almost every kind and they are all so good. The fish grilled or fried and the shrimp and crawfish are THE BEST. Great cheap queso and chips too! Love it all. I can't think of one good reason to give this place any less than 5 stars. I was new so the girl at the counter patiently walked me through the menu. She helped me choose an incredibly yummy plate. I went with the Taco/ Enchilada Combo plate. The hamburger taco cooked habanero style was great, I had the cheese enchilada also very good, THE BEANS!!! OMG I loved their red beans cooked in beer. SOOOOO GOOD! I loved the place, the experience, and the food. All very pleasant and quite tasty. If I just had to complain about something I would say that the parking situation is a little messy. It was crowded and parking was scarce- the lot is small. One swipe around the block provided us an empty space and so it was not horrible. Fuzzy's is one place not to miss out in Denton. You might be able to find better tacos at other places, but Fuzzy's has their own style and it is legit. I say if you are gonna order tacos, at least get the special ground beef to start out with, but don't fail to give the other ones a try. The salads are HUGE and the garlic ranch sauce is the bomb on top of them. The prices are great too. If you like Mexican beers, try their Baja Blonde on tap. The owner picked out the recipe himself and it is a really smooth, full bodied beer. I give Fyuzzy's 5 stars for always being consistent. If you are a Dentonite or live in one of the other few cities lucky enough to have a Fuzzy's nearby, you know what I mean. read more

The service super fast and the menu reasonable. For the record I am a fish taco connoisseur and I can tell you the best fish tacos in Denton are in my kitchen but a man gets tired of having the same old taco at home so sometimes you got to go out and see what else is cooking. The fish tacos are diffrent than most you'll find but good, albeit a little light on the fish but hell what do you want for 2 bucks? I recommend the grilled fish as the fried are a bit to battered for my taste. The usual tex-mex suspects fill out the rest of the menu. The refried beans are delish. Living in Denton for 5 years now, I am shocked an appalled.... at myself. How did I not find this place before? My wife and I were compelled to try Fuzzy's out after her mother mentioned that one was being built in their area of NW Fort Worth. After perusing the menu online, we decided on a Labor Day breakfast trip, so that I could satisfy my craving for some good 'ol migas. We were not disappointed. Food- As mentioned, I ordered the migas, while my wife gave the bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast burrito a ride. Flavor wise, it was all top notch. The migas was served with latin fried potatoes and refried beans, while the breakfast burrito was stuffed with everything, including the kitchen sink. The migas was pretty traditional, with egg, cheese, chorizo, green peppers, onions, tomato, and tortilla pieces. The flavor was amazing, which is good, because migas isn't a dish that presents well. Its really just a lump of eggs with 'stuff' thrown in. No matter. The presentation would have been wasted had they crafted it, since it was gone almost before I got the tray back to the table. The burrito puts all other breakfast burritos to shame. Think Sonic breakfast burrito, and then realize that its hardly one bite out of this monstrous thing. My wife was daft in thinking that she would finish it, but after tasting, I would have set the same high hopes. Service- The service was adequate and quick. The counter girl took the order easily and quickly, but I do have one gripe. When ordering a breakfast burrito, it is not readily apparent that the salsa served by default is a tomatillo salsa, which is not everyone's cup of tea. The fire roasted tomato salsa, which is outstanding, by the way, is an extra $1.29. After going to the counter to request a tomato salsa, the counter girl attempted to tell me that the tomatillo salsa was the only kind they had, all while standing next to a tray filled with the fire roasted tomato salsa... Now I imagine that she meant to tell me that the tomatillo salsa was the default option, and that the other kind was extra, but she did not do so. To her credit, she gave me the fire roasted salsa, and I went on my merry way. I would have paid for it, had I known at the time that it was extra. Conclusion- GO TO FUZZY'S.... NOW! read more

And, depending on where you're from, and probably where you've been, everyone has their favorite Mexican food restaurant. Mine happens to be #ElSom in Longview. Doesn't get better to me. That being said I do enjoy trying different Mexican food restaurants. First, the service at Fuzzy's is great. I had never been to one, so I had a few questions they were quick to answer, so helpful! The food, to me, wasn't anything exceptional. One of my coworkers said it was the best taco he'd ever had. Now, I'm not sure if he's from like, Michigan or something where Mexican food is scarce or what, but it def wasn't the best taco I've ever had. It wasn't bad, at all. And I liked the fresh cilantro and the feta? Goat cheese? Idk what it was, but it was yummy. So while my grandmother still makes the best taco I've ever had (not bad for an Irish lady) Fuzzy's wasn't too bad. It just wasn't anything special and left me wanting for more. Even though I've been to this restaurant at least ten times since moving to Denton a year ago I really don't feel qualified to review it. What I can review are the fish tempura tacos because they are the only thing I've eaten here. I LOVE THEM! Thin slices of fish battered and fried till light and crispy with lettuce and feta cheese. All of the sauces at the table are tasty but if you really want a nice kick ask the guys in the kitchen for some habanero sauce. Use with caution. I've been coming here since the joint first opened. It's not really Mexican as much as it is TexMex which makes it so unique. Try the garlic shredded beef briskit tacos with feta cheese in the soft shells. Were she still alive, my latina grandmother would probably think it was some kind of unholy culinary union, created by Satan himself to turn Mexicans into Texans. They really are that good. If I could give fuzzy's a 0-star, I would. I've eaten here multiple times with the expectation that they were having a bad night in the kitchen, but it gets progessively worse. I always order the chicken enchiladas, which are always dry and usually cold. I've only eaten here more than once because it's close to wear I live, relatively cheap, and fast; but honestly, taco bell's food quality is higher. If getting the food out of the kitchen is the highest priority, they need to rethink their priorities--I'd rather wait an extra two or three minutes for a decent meal. I don't understand how these plates are allowed to leave the kitchen. I feel like I am consistently served an unfinished, mediocre product. I'm not sure if it is the storage process, or how it is actually being cooked. But I will take a bite and not be able to chew through a large chunk of something I assume you can call fish. I am AGHAST at Fuzzy's. No matter what the tiny child that is inevitably working the register says, their queso is not the same. I've been coming to this Fuzzy's since 2007, and I know what the f*cking queso looks/tastes like.
