Not quite sure why this place has so many bad reviews. The food here is really good considering the options in the area. The owner is really sweet, anytime she can, she comes and talks to my grandparents about life and the business. Waitress Dave is very efficient and kind. Great lunch spot with tons of locals and travelers alike. The service is super friendly and I would not hesitate to grab a pint here in any season. I ordered the prime rib sandwich and the whole thing was a delight. I would want a small cup of au jus to take the whole entree over the top. The table of us did get a few rounds and three out of four opted to add a three cheese mix on top of the fries that were included. The hazy IPA Mortal Bloom matched right up with the food. Went on St Patty's Day ( not Irish), was greeted at the door with a waitress with a big smile, Irish musicians were playing added to the atmosphere. Had corn beef and cabbage. The corn beef could be cut with a fork, juicy and tender. I'ave there one before, this time it was even better. read more

They don't serve food or even apps after 10pm. They should update their website hours. They talk you into staying for a drink and then won't serve all the parties, pour the drinks and then decline to serve, very youthful and inexperienced bar keepers who need keeping themselves. First things first, the food is disgusting. The "Irish bacon" tasted like last week's leftover pork. It tasted like rotting meat. We didn't eat it. The regular bacon was a few super-thin slices of fat like you get on a McDonalds sandwich (McDonald's bacon is actually better). The breakfast wrap was burned as were several pieces on the "Irish Breakfast" plate. The waitress was very nice. She tried to keep us distracted because she understood the kitchen was taking unreasonably long to serve our food. We were the only table occupied (that should've been a clue), so the 40 minute wait was ridiculous. There was an older man who we think was the owner walking around in shorts that were way too short for work. He should have heard us complaining about the wait and the food because he was within earshot. Did he come and apologize??? Absolutely not. He didn't seem to care about anything. My English girlfriend was craving Bangers & Mash while we were on vacation in the Poconos area so we came here. We were excited to spend a large amount of money here. When we walked in, we waited for about 2 minutes before anyone greeted us, until eventually the bartender screamed across the bar to sit wherever we wanted. We thought, "great!" Our bellies were ready. While my girlfriend went to the bathroom however, they did not approach my table nor provide me with any service for roughly 10 minutes even though the establishment was pretty empty. They did not provide me with a menu or even a glass of water. I rarely use the "racist" card but my white girlfriend was convinced that this place is discriminatory as they rushed to give menus to people who looked like "them". They made my girlfriend and I (a Black person) feel unwelcome. This place does not live up to its name. "failte" is apparently supposed to mean welcome and this place was far from it. They should change it to "Truagh". Bad energy and miserable people. They give Irish bars, Irish people and frankly, Ireland a bad name. They did not deserve our money so we walked out. Failte, meaning "Welcome" in Gaelic (fun fact courtesy of the server). Had a cozy, warm cabin ambiance.. Bright wooden chairs, stools, tables and booths. Lots of mirrors and light, making the place feel and look spacious. The restaurant looked really nice. We were greeted by our server by the door and told us we could sit anywhere. They played Celtic music on the radio. I thought this place had great vibes and ambiance. We ordered hot toddies. They had put a black tea bag in the drink which I wasn't expecting and it didn't taste like there was honey in it. It also came out lukewarm, not worth $8 imo. We also ordered the stuffed mushroom appetizer with the remoulade dipping sauce. We enjoyed it as an afternoon snack, but decided to have dinner elsewhere. read more

I have no idea why this place has such a low rating. Tonight my family had the prime rib special, shepherds pie, fish and chips as well as the smothered chicken. All entrees were good. We walked in on a Sunday night, the back bar was busy but inside was practically empty. We sat down gave our drink order then she didn't come back out for like 10 minutes. This is great Irish pub/restaurant. The food is authentic, and they also offer old reliables at a great price. Took my husband here for his birthday, drive over an hour, and we felt like we were home. The chicken Marsala was to die for and their french onion soup is the best around. They offer many local beers and have an extended bar for quenching your thirst. The staff are friendly, helpful and willing to help you with your requests. My husband, myself, and a friend really enjoyed our Thanksgiving dinner at Failte Steakhouse. Dave, our server, was very attentive to our needs. The diningroom offered a very intimate atmosphere, full yet quiet. We had the traditional turkey dinner which was absolutely delicious. Generous portions and served like a homemade meal. The cocktails were also generous portions and very good. The meal was so delicious that I took a dinner to go so that we could enjoy leftovers the next day. Highly recommended! read more

Awful experience. Tried to order the ribeye - no ribeye. Tried to order the porterhouse - no porterhouse. Was offered at-bone - ok I'll take anything at this point. The beer was flat and warm Our server kept disappearing until we realized we had ordered an hour prior and our food still had not arrived. There were only 4 tables occupied in the restaurant. When the food came, my steak was well done even though I ordered medium rare. The mashed potatoes were cold as were the vegetables. My wife's steak was absolutely rubber. Could not be chewed up. Every year when we would go to our trailer home in the Pocono's we would stop by Failte Irish Pub and Steak House for dinner at least once each season. We noticed in the past couple of years the food quality in the restaurant wasn't as good as it had been. This past Saturday was a big disappointment. They advertise as a steak house but had a poor selection to offer. Most items were not available. The waitress gave us a long list of things not available for dinner. Even the Rueben sandwich can not be ordered after 4PM. We ordered the NY Strip medium rare as there wasn't any other steak option. The meat was dry and and very grisly. The Brussel sprouts vegetable was practically raw, and hard to chew. I also noticed for a Saturday night (7 PM) the restaurant was practically empty, maybe this is the reason why. Sorry to write such a poor review to what was once one of our favorite go to places. We won't be revisiting. read more

Worst restaurant experience ever. Waited over a half hour for sodas, over an hour for appetizers and only half came out. They were terrible. This was already a red flag because this guy is dressed terribly and does not want to be there. He seems unhappy and tired. We left because it didn't seem like we were welcome. The second time, it's this guy again tired and run down. The place was completely empty. He said we could sit anywhere. Again I knew we made a mistake. An empty restaurant is always a bad sign because the food cannot be fresh. This guy should not be seating customers. I am assuming this place has no money to hire a proper chef, hostess or waiter. The place is beautiful too. I live around the corner too. It is a shame. Shrink your menu and get some passion. You only need a few dishes done well. You don't need all kinds of food on the menu. Anniversary dinner with my husband. Everything looked nice at first glance. Waitress was very nice. Food was 40% inedible. After minutes flies were all over our food. Again, I have gone back to this place several times, and would like to give it a better score, but the smoking in the main bar area kills it for me. Many reviews state the same complaint, and I am surprised they don't take this more to heart. That said, I find the bartender's decent, drinks are a bit on the high side and I guess I don't come here often enough to be considered a regular yet and earn comps. Good point is the AMI Jukebox, a definite MUST HAVE for me. Never had an issue with the food though. Just wish they would do some non-smoking days/nights. It was tough, cold and stringy with no seasoning whatsoever. Maybe it was a bad defrosting job? IDK. My mashed potatoes were ice cold and so were my side vegetables. Everything was garbage. This is one of the worst place I have ever been!!! I got a Ruben and wanted cheddar cheese instead of Swiss. It came with Swiss. I sent it back and they put a little cheddar with the Swiss still on there. It was the same sandwich also because it had a bite out of it that I took before I sent it back. I also asked for my fries "well done" they came out soggy. It also took a long time to get a water. Also the French Onion soup was not very good and it came out with my meal.
