Just helped me remove this piece!
Haddie D.

Such kind workers! The woman at the front helped me with the easy paper work and less than ten seconds later Luise came to help me with the broken plastic on the bottom of my bumper. He told me what my options were and how much it would cost to replace right away or to just remove the plastic piece which we ended up doing. He got his tool and removed it and didn't charge me anything! Very honest place and so appreciative of all the offers Luise told me. Will for sure come back!

The swanky and comfy waiting room.

In one word..... impressive! Accidents are traumatic regardless of fault. I was recently rear ended in an auto accident. The accident was reported to my insurance and my insurance co without hesitation recommended G & C located in my 'hood. An appointment was set up for me to bring my car in the following day. Sure enough, G&C was expecting me and it was VIP treatment from the get go. As I walked in, Jeff and Jill greeted me warmly. Jeff was the man, the friendly service writer, who quickly examined the damage and wrote up the service order so I can be on my way. Jill, the clerical lead, was cordial and fixed me a cup of hot coffee while I sat in the comfy couch waiting for Hertz to rent me a car. In the short time I was in there, I couldn't help but notice how fancy schmancy the décor was quite unlike most body shops that were filthy and smell of paint and grease. The waiting room was classily appointed like a swanky hotel lobby complete with TV, love seats, couches and plush carpeting. Everything went smoothly without a hitch. Jeff kept me in the loop the whole time the car was worked on, which I thought was super nice of him. Even though insurance paid for the work, it was still my car and it was always comforting to know that the car was in good hands. The car was ready as promised. With the impeccable bodywork and paintwork, it felt like I took delivery of a spanking new car and it being clean as a whistle to boot! Good work done with such professionalism and precision did not come cheap but certainly worth it.

I had high hopes for this place. Upon first impression, they seemed well organized and professional. Alas, my experience slowly but surely went downhill after I turned in my keys. I brought my car in on a Monday morning. I was originally told that only the front bumper cover needed replacement, and my car would likely be finished in 1-2 days. Once they took off the bumper cover, they discovered more damage. This required them to order some parts, which were expected to arrive on Wednesday afternoon. Thus, my car would be ready on Thursday or Friday. Being that I would be without my car for a few more days, I went down to the shop to retrieve some personal belongings from my car. Upon doing so, I noticed that they had left the car in accessory mode, thereby draining my battery (pretty lame in my opinion). Thursday afternoon rolls around, and I'm told that they had received the wrong parts. I found it a bit hard to believe that the wrong parts were delivered. I suspect that they simply ordered the wrong part number, but I have no way of verifying this. Another possibility is that they simply neglected to order the parts in a timely manner. In any case, I'm now being told that my car will not be ready until Saturday. I told them that I would be moving that day, and would not be available to pick up my car. I was then told that my car would be delivered to my residence, and that they only needed my car until about 8:30 in the morning. At about 11AM, my car had still not been delivered, and I had heard nothing from the body shop. I try to call the shop to find out what the deal is, and nobody answers the phone. I am forced to leave a voice mail. So here I am, loading up a large moving truck, about to move ~50 miles away, and have no idea what's going on with my car. Finally, Jeff (the person I had been dealing with) calls me back, and says that he's about to deliver my car. He arrives between 11AM and 12 noon. I can understand that the extent to which a car is damaged cannot be fully assessed until it is torn down. Like I said, I think that they ordered the wrong parts (which created an additional delay), but I can't say that for sure. However, saying that my car would be ready by 8:30 AM and delivering it approximately 3 hours later without having the decency to let me know beforehand is unacceptable. But it gets worse... Upon further inspection, I notice that one of the two splash guards (the large plastic piece under the front of the car which is held onto the bumper cover with clips) was not properly reconnected. Instead, it was just hanging there, resulting in it getting frequently scraped against driveways, dips in the road, and so forth (see photos). By this time, I had moved my residence. There was no way I was going to drive all the way back to Rohnert Park to have this fixed. So I speak with Jeff, and he arranges for my car to be repaired at their Vallejo facility (another story entirely). But that's still not the end of it. A few weeks later, I'm looking over my bank statement. I see a charge for ~$500 from the rental car company. I call them, and learn that I was charged for 20 days beyond when the rental car was returned. Naturally, they blamed this on the rental car company (Hertz). Again, I have by doubts, but have no way of verifying exactly what happened. So I spend about another hour on the phone clearing up this nightmare. Finally, I receive a credit from Hertz. Suffice it to say that I don't recommend this body shop. I am giving them 2 stars as opposed to one because they were nice to me through the process, despite the disappointing level of service that I received.

I had been putting off dealing with the scratch because the last time i had a fender bender issue and had to go through insurance with an auto body shop, I'd had a bad experience with the rental car company they used trying to pin me with a ticket that wasn't mine, and long crazy story unrelated here. I had gone back to the same auto body shop (because it appeared they did a good job and they were very nice people, rental car not really their fault). But even though, to me it looked like a smaller job, they told to me it would be another biggish job, reaching into near $5000 to repair with panels, bumper, and paint repair, where I'd need a rental car co again so i had put it off, for fear of using rental car co, plus i have a $1000 deductible (ouch). To make a long story shorter i came into Downtown auto, upon referral, and met with a very nice guy, Martin. He took a look at my scratches and actually buffed them all out on the spot! (wow!) and gave me a bid to fix my front bumper for less than my deductible so i wouldn't even need to go through the insurance and rent a car! Plus, he said it'd be done in like 2 hours. I made the appointment and can't wait to update this review further. Btw, it's a comfortable waiting area, with nice glass viewing windows to see what's going on with your ride. And if you need to make a Costco run that day? It's conveniently located right across the street!

Eddy is also very knowledgeable, as you'd hope a guy who runs any kind of auto shop would be, and offered multiple solutions to me. I'll start by saying that I am by far the pickiest guy I know when it comes to cars in general, and…read moreespecially paint matching on auto body repairs. I have owned several cars with prior paintwork, and not a single one of them ever stopped bugging me, and not a single other person in my life ever even noticed. So, that's me. Let's talk about Eddie's Paint Works: I absolutely cannot recommend Eddie and the team here highly enough. They repaired my wife's Ford Mustang Mach-E (got hit on the passenger's door) with a warm pearl white paint color - not an easy color to nail. I absolutely, positively, CANNOT tell that the car was ever hit, nor that it was partially repainted and blended. It's incredible. I'm simply blown away in a way that's hard to put into words - I went 38 years of life thinking that no paint repair could ever be undetectable, and here I am, proven wrong. In addition to incredible artisan-quality paintwork, Eddie used new parts directly from Ford for the repair and even took the car to a Ford dealer to make sure all the safety sensors were properly recalibrated. Eddie is a true "car guy" and I found this shop by looking for shops that people trusted with their true pride and joy - sports cars, hot rods, etc. Trust those people. This was my first time dealing with an insurance claim and Eddie was incredibly helpful in educating me about the process and providing me with some advice and guidance. He worked seamlessly with my insurance and it was overall just a totally painless process. In CA, YOU have the right to choose what shop to get your car repaired at - your insurance can't tell you where to go. Do yourself a favor and go to Eddie! I hope I don't get in an accident anytime soon, but if I do, at least now I know I can go to Eddie and everything will turn out perfectly. I'll never look for another auto body shop as long as I live here and as long as Eddie is around.

I really don't know how to rate this. Ultimately I settled on two stars because while the initial…read moreresult was not even worth one star, once they resolved the problems with their work it's an easy five star result. Short version: Initially the quality and workmanship of Crash Champion Rohnert Park's repair of my Tesla was absolutely awful. But after rejecting it once and some additional communication they did fix the car correctly and now that it's done it looks exceptional and looks like nothing ever happened to it. Long version: My Tesla ended up here after someone crashed into it. I had taken it to their Napa location, which was local to me, but they aren't Tesla certified, so they brought it to Rohnert Park for me. Since they are affiliated with AAA (the insurance company of the person that crashed into me that was handling the claim) it was totally hassle-free to have the quote approved and get the work started. They were very prompt to do the initial estimate and get the parts ordered. When they called me to tell me my car was done I paid for an Uber all the way from Napa to Rohnert Park to go get it. When I picked it up I did notice the front license plate bracket wasn't stuck on properly (on the Tesla the front plate mount just uses double-sided tape) but I was in a hurry and figured I could deal with it later. Unfortunately, later when I took more time to inspect my car I saw multiple issues, most of them very obvious. 1, the A pillar was still bent, 2, the license plate wasn't just taped incorrectly, it was completely off center. 3. The front bumper was not aligned correctly 4. There were multiple specks of debris of some sort in the surface of the paint. 5. There was a service error/notification on the vehicle display that the camera software version was not correct. This one doesn't really matter because I let the car update itself and it fixed itself but regardless it wasn't like that when I dropped it off and who wants to pick up their car with errors on the screen? So the next day I returned the car to the Napa location and showed them the problems. They were very understanding and agreed with me that these were real issues that I was not just being picky about. Well, after speaking to the management at both the Napa and Rohnert Park locations and them personally ensuring the work was done correctly the second time around, I have my car back, and they did an awesome job. If it had been this way the first time this review would have been five stars all the way around. But the fact that they even let me know the car was ready when it was in such poor condition astounds me. I know mistakes happen, and in this day and age everyone is busy, pressure is coming from above to get things done fast and cheap while the actual technicians doing the work are probably juggling a hundred cars for not enough pay for the hard work that they undoubtedly do... but regardless if it's a $5 job or the $11,500+ job that this one was, it is likely a culture issue or process issue if a car can leave the shop in this condition. Because you know there are multiple people involved in fixing a car and anywhere along the way any of them could have spoke up and said "this doesn't look quite right, should we alert a manager to get a second opinion if we need to adjust this or if it's OK?" Anyway, all that said, I'm happy now that I have my car back. But, sometime in between the time when I had to reject my car and when it was finally done the rental car got dented in a parking lot. So now Crash Champion's mess-up is going to cost me money out of pocket to either fix the rental car or having to make an insurance claim with my insurance for that issue. Sure, it's not their fault that something happened to my rental car, but if they had fixed the car right the first time I would have not had my rental car. So it's just an unfortunate situation all around. I will say, everyone I spoke with here throughout this process was very friendly and professional and did really seem to care. Joanna and Jose were my main points of contact. BUT given that the car should have been fixed right the first time, and apparently the caring doesn't extend to the consistency of the results, friendly doesn't solve frustrating.
