On the pump housing, Blades put a service sticker with their phone number, approximately three inches from where the leak was happening. I thought great, I will call them and they will take care of it. When the service technician came out, he took a look at where the leak was and said that they do not service geothermal loop pumps, and charged me $125 to come say that; he was not even here ten minutes. I told him that I felt that I was being ripped off because I had described where the leak was, and they still sent someone to tell me they don't work on that part. The tech said I could take that up with the office. I called the office to describe that I would leave a critical review because of my experiences with them, and give them a chance to make it right. The guy in the office literally laughed at me and said something to the effect that just because a sticker was on the part doesn't mean they service that exact part. Their four-hour service windows without updates make it difficult to plan when they may be able to come out. Had to reschedule a prior service call because the technician did not come out until about 12:15 when they had given me a window from 8-12. I do not recommend using Blades HVAC. This process is very safe once the polymer cures, but you do not want it to dry in your lungs which happened to me because they did not plug the registers properly. It has been a year and I still have breathing problems and use inhalers regularly. In my opinion Lawson did not train their workers properly to work on HVAC systems . Another big problem was that the one air suction filter box they used was too small for my 2800 ft house. In conclusion i made a HUGE mistake in hiring them ....

I asked the office what was covered for free per the website, and this was the response: "To clarify, while we do offer free estimates, the $179.00 service fee was disclosed during our initial phone conversation. You had the option to decline the service at that time if you did not agree to the charge. Additionally, had our technician identified any further issues with your system during the visit, a free estimate for that specific repair work would have been provided then." I must have misunderstood during the original call, but beware that free isn't free. Also, the tech called at 915, told me he would arrive between 1015 and 1030 and got there around 1115, outside of my 9-11 service window.

They were able to repair the issues without having to replace entire lengths of duct work. But at 3AM I woke up hot, and it was 77 degrees in the house - worse than it had been before the duct work was fixed. I called and left a message on the company voicemail, left my number, and asked them to call me in the morning. Unfortunately, they never called. At all. A friend suggested I try restarting the system, since I mentioned that the last time they shut the system down, they switched off the breaker without first shutting the system down. So I shut the system down at the thermostat, then the breaker, waited five minutes and then turned it all back on. That seemed to work. Then I called the company so that they could make sure their techs did not do this to anyone else's system, and to comment that they never bothered to call me back. The woman who answered the phone first said this was the first she was hearing of my issue. Then she said she had heard I called, but she had been told I would call back, and I did not call (implying I was at fault). Then she kept talking over me rather than listen to what I was calling about. It was more important to her that she defend herself than listen to the customer. She never said I'm sorry. I had to ask her if she would stop talking to listen. Twice. Then I told her what the tech had done, and that I had solved it myself. That alone would have been enough to turn me off of the company, but the owner just called me. Not to apologize for the misunderstanding, but to say "I did call you!" He said he did call, but the number on the caller ID, and not the number I left in my message, which is also the same contact number on my account. He did not say he was sorry for the confusion. Then he started to argue with me that the techs only turned the breaker off on the inside unit, not the outside unit. I told him he was incorrect, as both the techs and I had been looking at the breakers together, that both breakers were turned off, and that one was even labeled "Outside AC Cond." However, he continued to tell me that did not happen. I finally told him that I was not going to stay on the phone and argue with him, and that I would not use his company again. Then he yelled at me that I was "very rude!" Any company that calls up a customer that has an issue, for whatever set of circumstances, just to say "you are wrong" and not to apologize, will not keep customers coming back. So if you'd like to use a company that is going to argue instead of trying to resolve an issue, call Above and Beyond. Because the owner went above and beyond to ruin their reputation with me. Customer service is not their forte.
