Were told tires would arrive "in a few days". After I didn't hear back, I called. Tires were still not in. A few days later they called to say tires had arrived. (3 weeks later) Dropped car at 3:30pm was told they would finish 1 hour to 1hour & 15 minutes. An hour later I received a call to say they'd just pulled car in. Were told in addition to the 2 front worn tires that both rear tires were "damaged" - one with a nail and the other with a tear in side wall. I know it sounds crazy, but an automotive place had just serviced the car as well, I glanced at but never saw this damage prior to dropping off the car. Also felt like this was quite a coincidence that the 2 "best" tires with tread were now "damaged" and also needed to be replaced. No accusation here just suspicion. Costco suggested we buy all 4 new tires at ticket price of about $170 each. (For a 2009 Honda accord so not the biggest tire) The situation felt off/odd - so I phoned my partner. My partner Recommended we keep to original plan and have them replace the two (rear) damaged tires now in place of the 2 (front) worn tires. We asked if they would place the 2 new tires on front while replacing the damaged since vehicle is front wheel drive; they said "no" they couldn't do that because.....? 2 different people told me 2 different reasons why they could not do this. Two hours later I retrieve the car but also voiced my concern about longer than anticipated wait time, the apparent attempt to upsell us, & discrepancy regarding why. I have mixed feelings because Costco reportedly is maintaining its DEI policy (vs many other retailers who backed down) But I couldn't help wonder whether I would have experienced same treatment had I : 1)been a man 2) been not a Black or BIPOC person 3) been a white male. I appreciate that the tire center manager was nice and tried to assure me of honest best practice. The customer service manager, though, had a much less concerned and more nonchalant attitude. I didn't name any names here but YELP - should I?

Once my mom realized her mistake, we tried to dry her hearing aid at home and insert a new battery- to no avail. In desperation, I called and spoke with Keith in the hearing aid department and he encouraged me to bring in the hearing aid ASAP so they could attempt to dry out the water in their special hearing aid dryer. They made no promises but continued to attempt to dry the hearing aid over several cycles to try to regain functionality. Finally, they were able to breathe some new life into the hearing aid. Despite their efforts, the hearing aid is not the same but is somewhat functional. What counts here is the team effort! Emma worked as long as she could before handing the project onto John. Keith had already briefed the team to expect my arrival. I remember their names because they impressed me with their dedication and I wanted to recognize all of them. They didn't charge me anything and suggested I pay it forward with my own good deeds and of course recommended purchasing new hearing aids from Costco. This is a great group of compassionate people! Thank you so much!!

Don't waste your time. So, we've been pretty happy as Costco…read moremembers for most of the past 15 years. We recently relocated and the two closest Costco warehouses are each about 30 minutes away, and the BJs is about 15 minutes away. So, we decided to give them a shot. First off, the prices on the shelf are okay, but you have to clip coupons in order to really get the perks of membership. I know my grandmother got a bit of a thrill clipping coupons and earning extra savings, but I have a career, a home and a family; I don't have time to clip all of the coupons. But, okay, fine, we'll muddle through... In November, they offered a free turkey to any member who spent more than $100. We spent more than $100 (our first visit was upwards of $400). We clipped the coupon when it arrived on the app. I figured there would be some demand for a free turkey, so I arrived at the store opening that Saturday morning. As expected there was a little traffic; probably two dozen people lined up for the free turkeys. The shelf was almost empty (about 10 birds), the largest turkey was about 12 lbs. The associates working in that department seemed to be caught off guard, as they scrambled around wondering why there was a crowd, they mentioned there was a pallet of frozen turkeys in the back and agreed, after some pressure from the crowd, to get it out. About 20 minutes later they wheeled a half dozen turkeys out of the back. I imagine there were more that they had, but I got mine and got on my way. At the register, the clipped coupon for my free turkey didn't work and I had to have a manager override the purchase. All-in, kind of a hassle, they clearly weren't prepared for the predictable crowd, and did their morning employees a disservice by not stocking the freezer the night before, but okay, I got a free turkey. The last straw came when we made an online purchase with them for a Christmas present for my daughter. The item, a clamp for a phone for her bike was ordered through their website and cost about $25. When the package arrived, all that was there was the envelope with a slit in it and an empty box. We tried processing a return online, but the instructions on the website told us to go to the store. I did. At the store, the customer service rep was nice enough, but didn't know how to help. The assistant manager was short and unhelpful, and instructed me to go online to process the return. I made clear that I did not appreciate the runaround and that at this point it's less about the $25 and it's about good customer service. I pay for a membership here, so I can have access to relatively good deals on larger quantities of things I need to furnish and feed my family of 6. I expect that when a branch of their company gets something wrong, that the individuals in my local store who see me a few times a month can remedy the situation easily enough. Especially if the issue is as small as a $25 return. My request was met with indifference and disdain. I was given an 800 number to call and told that nothing else could be done for me in the store. I asked to speak with the store manager. He came over and was not kind. He first told me that he didn't need to hear what I had to say because he already heard it from his assistant. When I expressed that I felt disrespected and disregarded, he allowed me to speak and tell my story anyway. I finished, he didn't care, he understood that this $25 would cost his company my business, I left. I spent 40 minutes on the phone (I think to Mexico) to process my return. I was assured that once the vendor agreed to the refund I would get an email. We'll see. At any rate, save your time on the hassle, disappointment and disrespect, just get a Costco membership..

Let me explain. A very nice person by the name of Tonya found an available appointment as soon as she could fit me in,which was extremely appreciated as I had broken my glasses. I had called multiple places only to be told that their first appointment was mid September because of the back to school rush. She was very courteous, and very helpful! I wasn't necessarily expecting that my entire experience with them would go like that but indeed it did. The optical assistant Alicia did some of the pre-testing. She was very professional and we were done in a hot minute. More on Alicia coming up because she went above and beyond. Dr. Edward Nelson came out to fetch me and took me into the office. I noticed that he had a lot of medals in a frame on the wall so I asked him what they were related to and he explained that he has been an optometrist in the Air Force during the Vietnam war and then continued to assist different bases to provide Examinations and care for the enlisted in the Air Force. He was very nice, very easy to talk to and I was so impressed that during his career he flew an F-14 (I think he said)/but don't quote me as I always get my jets mixed up! Anyway that put me at ease and for some reason the way he asked the questions when you have to say what's better and what's best which I always have difficulty with I was able to answer quite quickly. I know he just use different verbiage but it made a big difference for me. I can't recommend him enough, He told me during Vietnam he was not sent into battle, but in some of his other experiences between then and now he did have to go into the battlefield to see and treat patients. I thanked him for his service to our country. I actually found one frame that met all my specifications and that I liked out of all of them. Pretty amazing I'd say. I gave the frame to Alicia and she sent me off for a few minutes as they were busy with other customers and told me to shop or whatever I chose to do for 15 to 20 minutes -and return and they would be able to sit down with me and get the measurements for my new specs. I never have trouble shopping so I did just that and picked up a couple things which I brought with me up to the optical department. During that time I realized I did not have my Sam's Club card and I was panic stricken. I had been spending days and nights with my brother at the hospital and he had died the morning of my appointment at 11:05 AM. I think I would've had a better ability to cope had I not been sleep deprived and very sad. However I did go into my Sam's shopping app and under my account information was the code that they scan when you check out so I told Alicia that I was extremely upset and didn't know up from down right then and she just calmly told me to have a seat and tell her what the problem was. She assured me that I would be able to get my glasses and anything else I needed. She said the only thing affected- I didn't have my card I couldn't charge it to my Sam's account. I had other means to pay so that was no problem. She then did exactly what she said she would. She was so sweet talking in a very calm manner and being very empathetic to my situation. She then scanned my cards and I got everything from The optical department that I needed including the fact that I would be able to return in 10 to 14 days to pick up my glasses. She also took the time to go to a different register and scan the barcode in again. I would not have to do anything but leave the store when we were done. I honestly will never forget this it was such an act of kindness and I could tell it was genuine so I really want to express my thanks to her and I hope that Sam's Club sees this review and gives her some kind of reward for being such an outstanding associate! I was actually able to pick them up on Labor Day- Tonya looked like she was working by herself since it was a holiday. She was very helpful and found my glasses then discovered that the lenses had not been put in them, so expressed surprise that I was contacted and immediately offered to go put them in the frames and get right back out to me to try them on which she did. The glasses fit perfectly I can see very well with them and that's why I had to write this up- I had a 5 star experience! This Sam's optical department is incredible so I highly recommend them and would not hesitate to return, in fact I might even return on a visit to family since it's in Ypsilanti and I live in Texas. Thanks so much to all of you that helped make that day that my brother died so much easier for me when I landed in your department!!
