I've been to Laderach several times and have always had an amazing experience. To start off with,…read morethe customer service is always friendly and knowledgeable. If you ask any of the workers, they will be able to tell you their personal favorite flavors. There are endless rows of beautifully displayed fresh chocolate slabs that are almost too pretty to eat. Some of my personal favorites are the milk chocolate with hazelnuts, nut trio milk and dark (hazelnuts, almonds, and pistachios with milk and dark chocolate), and their cherry-raspberry white-dark (seasonal flavor). They also often come out with new flavors like the Dubai chocolate or cornflakes with milk chocolate. The quality of the chocolate really stands out. Even though it's definitely on the pricier side, the quality makes it feel worth it for a special treat or gift. If you're a chocolate lover, Läderach is a must visit destination. It's one of those places where it's almost impossible to leave with just one flavor, and I'll definitely be back to try more flavors.

Their selection is huge, with everything from loose-leaf teas to powdered varieties that you don't typically find in traditional American grocery stores. I'll definitely be back to stock up on a few new favorites. I originally stopped in to purchase a matcha whisk set, but it was a little more than I wanted to spend. That didn't stop me from finding a few treasures, though! I ended up browsing the cookware section and picked up a beautifully designed set of reusable chopsticks along with beginner-friendly M-shaped training chopsticks. One unexpected highlight was getting to try a hand massage machine. It applies pressure to acupuncture points throughout your hand, and wow--it felt amazing! I'm seriously considering going back just to buy one. The produce section also looked fresh and inviting, so I can definitely see myself returning to shop for groceries. And the chipotle...) They set up shop at the Hillcrest and Little Italy farmers markets and their products are also starting to pop up in stores around town (I just saw their stuff in Pigment). Every time I've been to their booth, they have been so nice and helpful. I didn't feel like they were giving me the hard sell -- just sharing products that they loved. The woman who sold me the salt told me that she loves the wasabi salt on cucumbers. I agree! I now make these little rollups with nori + avocado + julienned cucumber + wasabi salt. The. Bomb.

Unfortunately, my experience was overshadowed by the way Kyle treated me. I was there with my 5 yr old and 8 yr old children and it was upsetting that this interaction happened in front of them. I was waiting for the signing and needed directions about where to go and what to do. Instead of providing clear guidance, Kyle gave me multiple different directions and was r, which left me confused and stressed about missing the event. When I asked for clarification, his tone came across as rude and dismissive rather than helpful. What made the experience even more disappointing was that he was noticeably kind and friendly to my husband but his attitude toward me felt completely different towards me. As a customer, I expected to be treated with the same level of courtesy and respect no matter what gender. Comic-Con is already a hectic environment, and customers rely on staff to help make these special events enjoyable. Instead, this interaction added unnecessary frustration and took away from what should have been a fun family memory. After spending more than $400 and looking forward to the signing, I left feeling disappointed by the customer service. After the confusion, I spoke with the actor and got my figure signed. They acknowledged that things were confusing and said something along the lines of, "Sorry for the confusion," and explained that things were a bit weird with how everything was being handled. Their kindness and willingness to explain stood in stark contrast to the experience I had with Kyle. Although thats not the interaction I was hoping for with the actress. I would have preferred a joyful meet and greet autograph as opposed to an awkward apology from the actress, who was lovely. I hope management addresses this so future customers are treated consistently and respectfully, especially when families with young children are involved.
