In each of the four bays, video and launch monitors are provided to view your swing. Recently, Ryan promptly returned my 8 & 9 irons due to a factory defect for replacement. This is the type of treatment I received during my lessons. Ryan and Lane were always available whenever I had any questions about my swing. They were always generous with their time when offering advice and recommendations. Course is in great shape, greens are smooth (nailed some long putts on my round) and the layout is fun and enticing. If you play the tips it is a lot of challenging Par 3's like on real courses, and the 4's make you use your woods which I need the practice on. Booked on the app for 18 holes, got to the course and as I was trying to pay with a nice old man, a maybe 40's guy with grey hair (who was doing the carts later) turned it into a 9 hole round. Was surprised, asked why, and laughed saying "look how busy it is, you'll be lucky to even play that 9 holes". He then went on about how busy it was and how he couldn't believe how many golfers he had to deal with today. Like look, I get it, you're busy, but I was more than happy to pay for that 18 knowing I'd play maybe 13-14 if I was lucky. Fast forward, finish up the 9 with other groups playing through till it was dark. Same guy comes up and says "hey guys, keep in mind carts need to be back before dark". The group I was paired into said sure thing, and he drives off. Not even 3 minutes later he comes back and states "You know, didn't you guys pay for 9? You need to respect what you paid for and head out". I responded in kind, reminding him I'm more than happy to pay but you won't let me, that other groups came through, and I'll settle up at the clubhouse if you want. To which he states "Not like you'd be able to play it anyway, you'd be lucky to hit 14 at this point. Just finish this hole and come back in." I don't understand why this course still lets him run around with the YEARS of complaints. But maybe that's why he's stricken to cart duty and the wonderful older gentleman run the office and starter duties.

A Reliable, Friendly Local Track With Great Value…read more I play Durango Hills almost every week--usually Thursdays and Fridays--so I see a lot of the same faces. The pro shop and starter are always welcoming, quick to get you checked in, and overall just easy to deal with. For the price point, this course stays busy, and you usually won't ride solo, but they're far more lenient than most places. Whenever it's possible, they'll let me take my own cart, which I really appreciate. I've also had a couple last-minute schedule issues, and they were kind enough to waive the fee--something you don't see often anymore. The bar staff is friendly, and 99% of the time if I finish early and want to loop back for a second round, they find a way to squeeze me in. As for the course itself: it's a smaller layout with mostly par 3s and a few par 4s. It's perfect for beginners or developing players--wide fairways, not much uneven ground, and just enough challenge without being punishing. A couple greens have some tricky breaks, but overall they're straightforward and easy to read. Aside from two water holes, the defense of the course is mostly sand, but nothing outrageous. There's no full driving range, but they do have nets to warm up and a chipping/putting area right in front of the clubhouse, which gets the job done. For locals, they also offer an unlimited play card for just over $2,000 a year--which basically pays for itself if you play once a week like I do.

At the completion the marshal drove up and showed us on his smart phone there were 80 golf carts on the course all denoted in red all bunched up. * there was ice in the cooler but no bottled water provided. At any rate we all enjoyed playing golf here and said we would return. We finished in 4 1/2 hours.
