I cannot stress enough how frustrating and disappointing this experience has been. I brought my car in THREE separate times for the exact same issue--a cylinder 2 misfire--and somehow, after all that time and inconvenience, the problem is STILL not fixed. Each visit meant rearranging my entire schedule, finding alternate transportation, and being without my car for days, all for absolutely no resolution. And not only that, one of the times out of the three visits I came to get my car it was filthy like they had left all the windows down or took it for a ride with a layer of pollen all thru out the car. What makes this even worse is the completely shady communication. Work was done on my vehicle without my authorization, and I was never given clear pricing upfront. I wasn't properly informed about what they were doing or how much it was going to cost until after the fact. That is completely unacceptable and honestly feels dishonest. Every time I tried to get answers, I got vague explanations and no real accountability. It felt like they were just guessing and charging me along the way. At no point did I feel like a valued customer--just someone they could keep bringing back without actually fixing the problem. I've wasted time, money, and energy, and I'm left with the same issue I started with. This place is disorganized, unprofessional, and lacks transparency. I would strongly caution anyone against coming here unless you're okay with repeat visits, surprise charges, and zero clear communication. And not only that I have spoken with the Audi dealership and another mechanic backing that what they have done is wrong and reinstating some of the things that G2 is "claiming is wrong with the car" just to come back for another visit and blow more money on the same problem for the 4th time they can't seem to fix. I am one of these people that like to fix everything myself. I just did both A/C units, my washer, my microwave, and any vintage stereo equipment I can get my hands on. One of my habits when I'm tentative about a repair is to call at least 15 places to "compare notes" and learn. I get a feel for what businesses simply want to replace parts and others that know how to "fix" a part and replace a part. I ended up calling 17 BMW repair places about my wastegate on my 2013 BMW X3 and from everything I described over the phone, every place said I will need a new Turbo. I decided to also call G2 which is a little further from my house but I also remember they tightened a loose piece of my exhaust "on the fly" when I was coming back from a road trip. A mechanic named John answered the phone and I learned he owned several BMWs. He said "bring it by Brad, I'll take care of you. But I don't want to work on that car while the engine is hot so if you want to leave it overnight, that would be ideal". We left the car overnight and John made the adjustment and told us, "this adjustment should last a while. It doesn't mean you won't need a turbo down the road at some point". We picked up the car the next day and suddenly we could feel the turbo kicking in. We were so pleased with the work that we decided to bring the car back a week later to have the back brakes replaced (all BMW OEM equipment including sensor) and the transmission fluid changed. We were experiencing a little bit of car jerking when braking prior to bringing the car in and after about 25 miles, this all went away as John told us it likely would. I was very pleased with Jenna at the front desk (she happens to be John's mother) and with Gary the owner. This business has some very knowledgeable technicians, and I was most impressed because I fix things all day and this staff answered all my questions much better than the other 17 and then performed the actual work to back this up. I had my transmission pan changed at G2 which resulted in a leak damaging the transmission. The mechanic told me that the transmission was low when I took it back in after it started shifting terribly. The mechanic told me they added over a quart of fluid to my transmission. I called Gary the owner later to see how they were going to fix this and he flat out lied and told me the mechanic didn't add any fluid, my transmission wasn't leaking and that the red clear fluid leaking from the car was engine oil. He told me my transmission does need to be replaced for $7,000 and it is damaged, but wasn't leaking at all..... Unbelievably dishonest. I like the mechanics, but Gary MO is deny everything, admit nothing and makes counteraccusations. I feel bad for the workers there, but I will never use G2 again. read more

Gary the owner is a liar and I am not shocked by all the bad reviews I am reading. He told me I needed a new engine and after spending over $1,100 on parts and labor I brought my car back three times for the same issue. Gary told me to do a false insurance claim and I would need a new engine. I brought my car down the street to Freed Auto and got it fixed in the same day and the engine is and was perfectly fine and didn't need replacing. Gary told me he would bet $1M dollars the engine had a crack in it, as expected he is a liar and engine was 100% in fine condition. Also his front desk lady is horrible and rude, buyers beware. I tried G2 for the first time this past week. I was losing antifreeze in a big way; they diagnosed the issue in a timely manner and had it fixed within a day. I took my car in for a missing manifold plug. I declined all the variou work they wanted to do in addition to just this item that I needed. When I sent someone to pick up the car they charged me for changing the oil when I said I would do it myself. They wouldn't release the car without paying this extra which I never agreed to. As always, G2 Automotive never fails in providing excellent care of my car and customer service. On this particular visit, all I needed was a new gas cap. I could have done it myself, but one of the guys came right out and did it for me. On a recent visit, my check engine light was on so I stopped in without an appointment or prior arrangements. They came out immediately and did a diagnostic test. Luckily, it was just the gas cap needing to be replaced. Other companies I have been to charge for a diagnosis, but not G2. Jenna is great and provides excellent customer service! Repair costs are very reasonable as well. So are oil changes. I was being charged by another company more than what G2 charges for an oil change and instead of using the oil I requested, they added in their standard, sub-par oil. G2 uses oil specifically for European cars that you can't get at any of the oil change places and charges me a little less than the corner oil stations. I will never allow any other company to touch my car. I highly recommend them! read more

We took our Audi 2014 Q7DI there a few months back for a blue def issue after replacing one part and many call on our end to try and get updates. The first part was not the issue they need to change something else at more money. We came and picked up our car and it was good for a week . I then took it to Jim Ellis Audi and they flashed it with the proper computer and it was fine. Was told then most likely nothing was wrong with what was changed just need to be reset. We notified G2 of an after marked warranty they said they would file a clam but never heard any thing else. Last Friday I took it back to G2 because it was tossing the Belt and had an oil leak coming from the top of the engine. I did my research and sent email before dropping car off to them and stated tossing belt and I thought /per google it was the upper Oil cooler. The changed an o ring on dip stick, belt and 3 pullies. I was on my way to get car and they said no its the Harmonic balancer it will be another $580 and won't be here till Tuesday. Called Tuesday am to see when part would be in and after many calls got Gary and he said 1 pm. At this time I was told they tried to get warranty to pay for it but warranty only covered major engine issues At 106 pm Got a call from other person and she said he would call me back there were other issues. She then called me back with in 10 mins later she said no on warranty. I called at 5 pm Gary said it would be ready by 530 so I gave him card number which he ran instantly. At 530 got call and said it was leaking some where else may be the top engine oil cooler as I sent in email before car was brought in. The next morning I called to get an exact price and Gary said he would charge $395 only parts but was going to try Insurance again and he would get $1600+ for doing the work. I was like get it done. I then Called Jim Ells and found out even thought I have 104K miles and a 2014 it under warranty. I then sent a tow truck to take it to Jim Ellis. Does this shop prides it self on its work? He said it is best to come at 1. You can be the first after lunch. I've been taking my BMW 330i to Godwin Automotive (now G2) for the past 3 years and I have always had a pleasurable experience with the owner and staff at G2 automotive. Throughout this time I have purchased new breaks, water pump/thermostat, and regular oil/brake fluid flushes. In every interaction I have left feeling assured the problems were fixed and the work warrantied for the following 6 months. The owner is always able to answer any questions I have regarding current issues and/or takes a proactive approach by informing of any potential future maintenance that may be necessary. Took my car for oil change. Got a call about 30 mins later that my drive belt and pulleys needed to be changed and it was in such a bad shape that it could snap at any moment. It was going to cost me $270 (parts) + $240 (labor) minus 10% coupon. As I was in the middle of work I couldn't do additional research and so asked him to go ahead. After a few hours I started digging around and found that I may have been grossly overcharged. The belt kit (ADK0022P) made by Continental that he used (part # as mentioned in the the invoice he gave me) costs ONLY $96 in Amazon whereas I was charged $274 !!! I understand that his prices may be a little higher but 300% of Amazon price !!! I then looked at repairpal.com to get some estimates of labor costs and it showed typical cost in this area is between $105-$134 and I was charged $240. read more

Be very suspicious of the "positive" reviews that are popping up for this very dishonest merchant. Check the reviewers' history before you believe them. I have a sneaking suspicion that many of these reviews are shills intended to hide the truth about the dishonest nature of this company. Blake K, for example, was the FIRST TO REVIEW, and G2 is his ONLY review. Does anybody else find that to be suspicious? In any case, I have personal experience with G2/Godwin that leads me to totally believe that Maile K's allegation that G2/Godwin STOLE HER TIRES is the truth. and...disregard Godwin's dishonest claim in his comment that I "never paid my bills." I think that Godwin received more than $10,000 from my insurance company for work on the M3. Many of his charges - ALL FOR WHICH HE WAS PAID - were for UNAUTHORIZED REPAIRS. The fact is...I brought my vehicle to Godwin several times over a few years under a third-party extended warranty plan. This is how I became suspicious that my car was being sabotaged to create extra work. If the bills weren't being paid, why would he have continued to work on the vehicle and making up "repairs" to charge the warranty company? His false claim in his comment of "...not getting paid..." PROVES Godwin's dishonesty. When Godwin destroyed my transmission - to the tune of $3,500 repair ELSEWHERE - was when I refused to pay Godwin's ripoff balance of $1,500 ON TOP OF THE $2,000 I HAD ALREADY PAID him for a JOB THAT HE QUOTED AT $900. Remember...the M3 was functioning virtually perfectly when it was left with Godwin for a 3-day flywheel truing. Godwin KEPT THE VEHICLE FOR 6 MONTHS trying to repair the transmission that HE DESTROYED. Ultimately, after getting paid $2,000 (for a $900 job), he wanted me to pay him an additional $1,500 for the vehicle that NO LONGER FUNCTIONED because HE DESTROYED THE TRANSMISSION. His continued lies just piss me off. He should just shut up and stop commenting on the posts. read more

I did not receive a COMPLETE diagnosis to make a decision upfront . In addition my car was Mis-diagnosed . I ended up spending 8,263 TOTAL. (6,900 then 745 then 1263 ). After 3 weeks, G2 had to consult with another company to help them make the final diagnosis after telling me it was the Fly Wheel, they said it's the Catalytic Converter. Each time the amount kept increasing. I had to return the car to G2 3 times in 48 hours. They had the car for 3 weeks trying to make the correct diagnosis. I'm posting this to help other customers. I have had my 2008 BMW 535i for almost 5 years now and have had every problem with it that you could possibly have. Atlanta BMW Service Dealers and most independents know me and my car...my ongoing issues have never been properly addressed so I took my car to G2 Automotive as its very close to my house. Not only did they fix the problems, they had a recall issue fixed through the dealer on my behalf (took the car there themselves) AND put a new part in / programmed it at no cost to me. Gary (owner) and John (service technician) were determined to solve my cars problems and treated it as if it were their own. THAT....is the customer service that is lacking these days - I know this car is a problem waiting to happen and something will come up again - but its great to know that there is someone who cares and is willing to do what it takes to satisfy customers. Talk about above and beyond. I've had a 3 series BMW and no a diesel mercedes that likes to visit G2 (Carmax purchase) These guys are the real deal. Two years ago the dealership on McFarland had my car for a month. A full thirty days for nothing and they did not even complete the repair. I brought it to G2 and they were done with the other problem in a day. One day. Next problem same thing. One day. I can't even imagine what I would do without them. Last time a lost a belt on 400 car locked up and they came to get me in 10 minutes. I was an exit away but they are great people who do the right thing. Excellent company great people! read more

First time so far I feel good about them. I have some basic knowledge on bmw repairs. so I was ready for any BS and up sale. To my surprise it did happen. Check engine light code was referencing the air flow sensor. I replaced one and the issue came back. Their equipment was able to identify it was secondary air flow sensor. Charged a fair price and replaced my original back on. They found I also had an Alternator issue, this is where I thought the scam started. Nope mechanic found the cable and clip had came loose. They provide a excellent detail report and didn't try to up sale me on the other issue just items I should be aware of. I 'm happy and will recommend them to my other BMW friends until I have proof of trying to scam. I know its very hard to find honest repair shops. I'll report back if I learn something new. The check engine light came on in my car on Dec 23, 2017. We took it to a local shop and had the engine codes pulled. We were told that they pulled multiple codes, two of which were P0016 and P0017 (camshaft/crankshaft correlation errors). At this point we were hoping for the best and decided to take it into G2 Automotive to get an expert opinion. On Dec 26, 2017, we brought my car in and spoke to Gary (owner) about the issue. We expressed that we had NO interest in fixing the car if it ended up being related to the camshaft/crankshaft as this is a very expensive (worth more than the car) fix. After the mechanics inspected the car we were ASSURED by Gary that the underlying issue was the intake manifold and that my year model car was past the camshaft/crankshaft issue, therefor that was not a worry. He quoted us $1500 to replace the intake manifold and assured the car would be fixed after that. Since we now thought we were in the clear of any camshaft/crankshaft related problems, we express concerns with other smaller issues on the car such as, a burnt smell every now and then, filters, and a front parking light being burnt out (Also issues we would not have addressed had we know the true problem with the car from the start). Gary agreed to fix the addressed issues. Later, when we called to check on the status of the car, we were told that the "burnt smell" was due to a bad vacuum pump. We agreed to have this fixed for the quoted $250 because, again, we were under the impression the car would be fixed by the intake manifold replacement. When we picked the car up the quoted prices for the issues were not the prices on the invoice. The intake manifold was now $1756.95 and the vacuum pump was $554.67. Quoted prices should be exactly as quoted. The engine light was off when we picked the car up later that day. The next morning December 27th the engine light came on during my drive to work. We informed Gary and he said to bring the car back, that it may be due to a hard code that didn't clear. We brought the car back and picked it up again on Dec 29th. We were told that they checked everything again and saw no issues. On January 2 the engine light came on again. Gary said that it could be positive news that the light took longer to come back on, and that the adjustments made the previous time might have help. (Unaware of what "adjustments" he was speaking of since "hard codes" were all that were mentioned). We brought the car in on January 5th, and on January 9th Gary called to let me know that after further inspection the balance shaft (directly related to the cam shaft) was the reason the engine light was still on. Gary said, that he had taken the car to RBM and they confirmed the balance shaft was the issue. Gary insisted that he had made the correct efforts to fix the car, and that the intake manifold HAD to be replaced in order to find the balance shaft issue. We called RBM (who had no record of my car being brought in) to confirm that the intake needed to be replaced to find the balance shaft issue. The RBM mechanic confirmed that the intake and the balance shaft were completely UNRELATED. The balance shaft issue COULD be found WITHOUT replacing the intake manifold. I am now out $2366.77 (for the intake manifold and parts that would not have been replaced had we know the CORRECT issue) AND my car will now need the balance shaft replaced, which is what we were trying to avoid in the first place. We called Gary and expressed that we know we were mislead after researching and speaking to RBM ourselves. He told me that the mechanic I spoke to was lying to me (a mechanic from the same shop he consulted about my car issues, was a liar). We did reach out two separate times in hopes of resolving this issue before moving forward with other actions, but Gary did not offer any type of solution. He only insisted that he was correct. We will obviously never be going back. read more

Great place for repairs. Honest, on time, and knowledgeable. My TT Roadster had issues with the top going up and down related to the computer. It was one of those tedious problems that computers do. It required many resettings during the period I was having the problem. All revisits were at no charge and as of today it seems the problems have gone away. Gary the owner is very accommodating. John and Balli in the shop researched the problem on line to give what appears to be a final resolution. read more

I just had a terrible experience with G2 Automotive. I took my car in because the check engine light just came on and it was due for service at the dealership today anyway. I had previously scheduled the service appointment at the Mercedes Benz dealership for a standard A service and the brake pads to be changed. I cancelled the appointment when the check engine light came on and brought it to G2 because the dealership didn't have any loaner cars available and G2 had some kind of deal with Enterprise. I went to G2 thinking I was going to get a discount off of dealership service costs. Boy was I wrong. Normally an A service will run me about $165 and brake pads changed should be around $200. Turns out the check engine light was nothing and they charged me $231.57 for the brakes. A little pricey but I can live with it. Then I got to the standard A service...$669.86!!!! These guys (G2 Automotive in Cumming) did not ask my permission to add on services and parts which are normally NOT part of a standard A service and they WAY overcharged me. $84.00 for 4 spark plugs $90.75 for windshield wiper blades $49.90 for an air filter $432.00 in overall labor, when my car was only even at their shop for less than 5 hours! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY EVER!!! I will let everyone know if anything mysteriously fails on my vehicle as a result of this service. Something tells me this is not the last bit of pain I will get from dealing with these guys. read more

Very bad experience , girlfriend was to drop the X3 off on Friday morning at 8:00 am for a oil gasket replacement and Gary said he would have a rental car waiting ,, Gary wasn't there then so his son arranged to take her to work and she told him that she gets off at 2:00 pm with NO lunch and she would be needing to eat and he assured her that he would have her a rental there or someone would be there to pick her up if the X3 wasn't ready ,, She called at 2 and Gary's daughter said she would be there to pick her up in 5 mins ,, ( 20 mins later the gf started walking to the shop - 30 mins later she got to the shop and told Gary's son that she was there to get her car and that she had to walk from her work at the collection ( 30 mins away ) he called his sister and she was just getting there ,, WTF ,, how may lies can one repair shop tell in one day ,, no rental car until the gf had to go ( herself ) and rent one ( they did pay for it ) but it wasn't waiting like they said ( more lies ) , I confronted Gary on Monday about the whole situation ( which he said he knew nothing about , more lies) and his respond was " so she made a mistake " really ??? These guys can do brakes, oil changes and "some" tune-up however if your car requires any other repairs please don't take it to G2. I've had two cars repaired there and in both cases when I had them looked at later for other service, the repairman asked who serviced this car last and begin to show me all the corners that were cut during the repair and begin to explain the reason I'm having the current problem is the result of Godwin's work. For example instead of using the recommended cooling hose he used a generic hose however that wasn't the problem. The hose he used was longer so he could bypass the cooling for the AC. Go figure!! That's just one example of the shotty work. Another example, he used the incorrect radiator cap which caused the car to run hotter than normal. Too many errors to cover between two cars. When you ask Gary about these problems his immediate response is bring it in and I will look at it, then say I didn't work in that part of the car however I fixed the problem, then charge an additional fee that you didn't authorize. Save your money and frustrations and find yourself a good mechanic. I would recommend the new guy I've found however someone would think I wrote this review just to generate business for the other mechanic. I'm just a person that couldn't believe Gary would operate in this manner. I will finish with this....ask Gary how long his mechanic's has worked at his shop? In the time I've known him I guarantee it's been as least 9 not including his son who is terribly inexperienced. read more
