Although we purchased our Escape Hybrid their, my first attempt at service had been a complete failure. Sometime back I registered with Sue for oil change. Then a friend said it was too early for an oil change. Called her back, left message - nothing. Talked to my sales rep and he agreed. Should be 5k. Asked him if he could cancel. Now 5k and wanted to register. Did reviews and Todd was mentioned highly. Called and asked for him. Held a bit and then heard "this is Kate." Ok, set appt. Set appt for 15th at 2. Well got virus on 9, so called the following Monday - yup vm, and asked for either the 23rd or 24th around the same tie. Got a vm with "Ok Friday." Well is that the 24th or the 17th??? Called back and left vm questioning. Nothing, but on the 16th got a vm message from Heather confirming my appointment for the next day - Fri 17th. Called and left message for her and nothing. Can't help but think if you try to make an appointment and you get this kind of "service," how will they do with my car - ouch. Moving along as there are other Ford service places. Avoid Billy Howell at all costs. For 90 days, I have been attempting to get information from their Service department. The service advisory, service manager and the owners son, Mr. Howell....will not return the call. This was requested via Ford Warranty. Essentially, Billy Howell elects to ignore both Ford Motors and its local customers. read more

Avoid at all costs-My RV went in for a service recall, a simple item. While fixing that they recommended new tires, I said ok and made sure they could handle the RV. They damaged both sides of the RV with the hoist. What unfolded over 2 weeks and 86 days was unbelievable. We agreed, Glen the service manager and myself that they would not take it to a repair place local to be painted but to an RV specific repair shop. This was after they took it off property to get an estimate before telling me it was damaged. We agree the next day it would be driven to the agreed upon Rv shop. 5 days later when I checked on it they had not taken it there but "by mistake" taken it to the one we all did not approve of without telling me, work was done without my approval and knowledge. After a battle they took it to the right RV Center who said it had to be redone. Once it got there they spend 2 more weeks (now a month) approving that really it should be redone. Then it went to an insurance third party adjuster (because Matt Howell VP could not do the right thing and accused me of saying it needed to be redone). That adjuster had to wait for another 10 days to recommend this go thru insurance and not for Howell to pay for it. 86 days later my RV was returned to me. We missed holidays, rental monies, family vacations and no one cared. We are now fighting with them to handle the Georgia state law reinbursements we are entitled to because again no one will treat us fairly. I have no idea how this will end up but the department of insurance and Ford corporate are being contacted this week. I would avoid this dealership no matter what..the lack of care and expertise at the top down is a failure. read more

Don't go here for any service. This dealership is mainly a commercial and fleet sales dealership. If you are an individual you matter not. I had a recall for my truck and the manufacturer paperwork says dealerships now have parts in stock to perform this inspection. Once inspected more parts would have to be ordered to perform the recall remediation. Ok, Understood. I have to bring the truck back if it is truly in need of the recall. Apparently, I must leave it for the day to have this done. I arrive at the dealership a few minutes before 8am. The service doors are closed, but many folks are inside. I pull up to the first door but nothing happens. No one opens the door. I wonder if I am early despite the sign and web page saying they should be open (7:00am). I notice the chain for raising the garage door as I am idling in front of it and it is propping open the pedestrian entry door. Perhaps it is nonfunctional. Bad sign for a service department. I decide to walk in to see if they are indeed open. Several service writers are sitting at their desks in a row and the closest one has another employee standing there. I ask if they are open. No response or acknowledgement that I am there. I ask again and then a third time before the employee standing next to the service writer looks at him and asks if they are open! After they reply they are open I am still not greeted or asked if they can assist me. So I tell them I am here to see a specific service writer and I have an appointment. They respond "last desk at the end". Nice. Even Moe's and Waffle House do better engagement of their customers. But this is probably because they don't want walk in customers, only Fleet and Commercial business all done electronically. I leave the vehicle and returned the next day to understand they checked the heat shield which was not affected. But the dangerous steering column inspection could not be done because they don't have the bolts they needed to do the inspection. These are not the parts needed to remediate the steering column disconnecting problem as we understood these would be ordered if my vehicle was affected by this problem. This was two bolts needed to do the first inspection. Despite the two letters from Ford manufacturing, first identifying the issue and then a second three months later saying dealerships now have the parts in stock for this recall. Please schedule your inspection. So, if you have three days to bring your car back to the dealer over the next month, go to Billy Howell Ford. They will be happy to ignore you and eventually get something like service done to your vehicle. Add insult to injury, I brought my truck in clean and received it the next day dirty ( mud and dirt) Great customer service is available but not here. read more

Nick my salesperson was highly disrespectful. Maybe future business from me but certainly not with Nick. Found a preowned car online at Billy Howell Ford and called to confirm availability. The process of setting up a good time to come in and test drive the car that was a good experience. I took time off and traveled two hours to go look at the car which was in great condition. After the test drive the ergonomics of that particular car did not work for the amount I drive. That was OK, we sat down for few moments and searched the inventory and found another car that may work better and setup for a quick test drive. During that test drive the salesperson asked if that car was for me. I politely said no I don't think so it is a nice car but didn't have all the options that I was looking for on that trim. Immediately, after that the salesperson shut down on me and didn't say anything the rest of the test drive, I even tried to make small talk. Once back at the dealership I parked and Nick got out slammed the door in our face and just walked back inside without saying a word. Left me, my wife and daughter looking at each other like what just happened. I turned the car off and took the key back inside, Nick was nowhere to be found I left the key with the receptionist and my family left. I was looking forward to going in and seeing what other options where available or at least highlight the type of car to look out for. It was on my heart to call the next day and reviewed the visit with the sales director, Ryan. Ryan was great took down my concerned and apologized for my visit. It's not a pleasant experience to have business with these people. I'll probably use the mall of Georgia dealership instead of this shady people. They also charge 3.5% credit card transactions fee. The service lady Kelley Mullinax clearly made a mistake that caused multiple problems to us, but she never admitted her fault. She seems like her customers are stupid, but we are not. Watch out their forgery also. We never mentioned sunroof, but the invoice showed 'customer state sunroof does not working'. They made up statement to avoid legal problem. Of course, the sunroof did not cause a leaking problem even though it was not working. By the way, the sunroof was fine until i brought my car to here. It magically broke once their tech diagnosed. Who knows. Long story short : We brought our truck to fix the roof leak problem, and recharging refrerant ended up paying almost $4000. read more

Took them 5 hours longer than expected and they lied to me repeatedly on what stage in the process the installation was. Very disappointed. My Dad called Billy Howell about a vehicle and they picked him up from his Assisted Living and sold him a 2009 Ford Explorer with over 200k miles for a walk out check of $7332 (check online retail prices). I called shortly after to try and sell it back to them, since the car was sitting in a spot where he lived not driven, and they said they would give $2550 for it. Be careful when you request a total when considering a purchase because they will have you sign a form. That forms gives them permission to pull your employment and credit but they do not inform you of it, they ask you to sign for the quote. I brought my truck in for a recall repair. My service advisor, Susan J. was outstanding every step of the way. Her communication and problem resolution was 5 star. I had dropped my truck off Sunday evening expecting to leave it all day Monday. The repair took longer than expected due to a software update issue (that took forevvvvver). At first I was a bit put off since my son is on leave from the service and we needed two vehicles. Susan was proactive, understood my dilemma, and set me up with a loaner until my vehicle was finished doing its software update. I couldn't be happier with Susan's efforts. The last thing Glenn (?) and Jeff at Billy Howell Ford Lincoln care about IS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY'S SAFETY. My wife and I have been getting Fords and Lincolns there for, I believe, 25+ years. We leased a 2020 Corsair whose windows, exterior mirrors, interior lights, and hatch failed to work within 6 months or so. We took the car in to Jeff 3-5 times; he often kept it for more than one day. They never fixed it and said they were not going to because Lincoln was having similar problems with other cars and Lincoln didn't know how to fix it so they were not even going to try. I tried to get Glenn (?) the "Service Manager" (aka "joke") to call me back because Jeff would not. Glenn didn't do so, so we contacted the head salesperson who spoke to Glenn directly and he personally asked Glen to call me back. Crickets. I believe that was 6 months ago and still, no Glen. Our next step was to contact Lincoln corporate and the "fine" people at Billy Howell refused to call them back. We gave up because they clearly did not care that it was dangerous to drive the car. We moved to Florida and took the car into a the local Lincoln dealer. THEY FIXED IT IN LESS THAN A DAY! Piece of cake. I been buying cars there for years and love the entire experience. the service department is HORRIBLE though. they wouldn't honor my bumper-to-bumper warranty. tried to involve the service director, be he didn't return a single phone call or email. called corporate and the service advisor told them that they're declining to fix my car. Service is so bad that it's not worth buying a car from sales. then, a previous experience. trying to get tires for my car, I picked out tires and scheduled an appointment for install. they told me when I showed up for the appointment that they couldn't order what I picked, so they got something else. If I could give this dealership a 0 star I definitely would! This review is my actual experience and hopefully this will help others not to experience this type of situation. I dropped my truck off 1 week ago and I was dealing with the service department and to be specific the lady who was supposed to be helping me was SUSAN JORDAK... Susan gave me the run around about my truck being serviced for an entire week. It took for me to drive 1 hour out to this privately owned dealership to seek out my truck in the next parking lot, which meant it never even got a damn oil change.... which was the least common thing the truck needed. Due to the inspections my truck needed 4000 worth of stuff...which was supposed to be a new radiator and wheel hubs...lol funny right well.... anytime I called to receive an update about the truck SUSAN would try her best to rush me off the phone stating it's out of her hands to say when the truck will be ready but try to call her midweek which I did and was told their waiting on a part...then she stated it would be ready by Thursday now today is Friday no call but I did show up only because I smelled bullshit from the week before so now that it's been a full 1 week my truck hasn't even been seen for the minor services so If this we're a fantastic dealership to recommend guess what they would have done what they could until the parts came in...right??? Well no that's not the case here! These people do not work efficiently they have no mind for other peoples time and their straight out BULLSHIT! WOW! Talk about lack of commitment to their customers. This is very disappointing! On 8/9/23 I had my 2012 F-150 King Ranch picked up at my home for repairs at Billi Howell Ford. The pickup experience was nice and impressed me. I also received email (appears automated) from Mike Kelly stating they had received the truck. The request was to diagnose engine light and research various other electrical issues occurring sporadically. For example, the rear camera going offline, SYNC system disconnecting or resetting +USB not connecting to my phone, steering wheel controls misbehaving, etc. Obviously I would expect this to take some time. On 08//11 I called Mike 3 times and wasn't able to reach him. I don't remember if I left voice message or not. But then called him again on 08/14. Talked to him for a bit and he indicated that they were waiting on a part and that there was nothing they could do about the camera because it has been on back-order for over a year. So I decided to ask, since the truck is there to get estimate cost of doing general service maintenance. To which he gave me some fairly high cost for radiator flush, transmission fluid and spark plugs replacement. I told him I would consider it and to please let me know the status of the electric system troubleshooting. On 08/16, since I have not heard anything from Mike I decided to drive by there. Went in around 4:30pm and was told that Mike was already gone for the day. Yesterday 08/17 I called again and left Mike a message to call me back. Today, no call! A few minutes ago I called him ... got his VM; so, I hung and called him a 2nd time. This time he answered. Needless to say, by now I'm obviously not happy at all. Now he tells me that they are still researching, that it is hard to find issues on these older models and that it will take some time. I expressed that I was hoping to have the truck by now. He then tells me that the original technician was out with the Flu and that they had just assigned a new technician to work on the truck and should be working on it on Monday (08/21). I now insisted and reminded him about keeping me up to date on whatever might be going on with the truck. Also that in my opinion it is not acceptable to not even return my customer calls. So far Mike set set no expectations, provided no communication and has instilled a horrible customer experience! I am getting a bit tired of chasing after him trying to get the truck taken care of. I will now give them until Tuesday (08/22) morning and if I don't get any positive feedback I will have to demand my truck back and just take it elsewhere. It is my fault for not reading reviews here. I see a pattern. The sales experience seems to have great reviews and positive comments; the service experience however... seems to be as bad or worse than mine. Bill Howell Ford should be ashamed of the low level of customer satisfaction. Again ... I am so very disappointed. Today is Monday 8/21 past 6pm - I called around 5 to check on status - at this point I just need my truck back. Of course Mike is on phone call and he is the ONLY one who can check on the truck's status and give me feedback. Well, no call just yet. And as expected 11am - no call from Mike (or anyone). Called, he answered that he was busy with another customer. "Call you in a couple minutes" he says. 15/20 minutes later I called service number and left a message to have my truck ready that I would be there in about 45 mins to pick it up. He now calls to tell me about all the electric sensors the technician identified as faulty and cost close to $800 to fix. I got there; he then gave me some paperwork and send a young kid to get my truck. ... wait some more. Along comes this other guy passing by and tells me they are still looking form the truck. WTH! So a few minutes later I take a stroll around the building, found my truck and the kid tells me it is ready but he had to jump start it. I just got on it and left. I could not take any more of the nonsense. This raised to a level of incompetency I have never seen before! read more

I took my Lincoln MKZ with 35K miles to them for a bunch of recall work which included replacing the main bolt that holds on the steering wheel. My steering wheel controls weren't working, so I asked what it would cost to get that fixed. Here's what happened: 1. They apparently don't do loaners, so I said I would drop the car off at night and they said fine. They didn't mention that the gate is closed at 8PM. The gate wasn't actually locked, so I opened it and drove in to drop off, then the police showed up.... 2. They quoted me $1,400 to fix my steering wheel controls. I declined. I did it myself with some help from YouTube which took 25 mins and $175 in parts. I learned that while they had the steering wheel off it would've taken them literally 5-10 mins and 7 screws to fix it. They had also said that they would check with Ford to see if Ford would give me a break since I am a multiple long-time Ford owner, crickets since. Had they quoted me, say $500 ($1,950/HR), I probably would've gone for it and been happy to just have it done. Now I will neither visit them ever again, nor buy another late or current model Ford product. 3. After getting the car home, I noticed that when they fixed a recall issue in the passenger door, they neglected to reinsert the window switch pad back into the door panel and it was missing a clip (see picture). I managed to wrestle it in myself and forewent 1 clip (see pic). I think the missing clip is in the door and what's causing an annoying rattle. I guess I got spoiled by Infinity, they were prompt, courteous, thorough, returned calls, discussed options to help save $$, and always had the car cleaned (these guys don't) and ready as promised. It's a shame that US Ford doesn't hold their dealers to as high a standard as Japanese Infinity. I really wanted to stay all-American, but will not be treated like this. read more

Highly recommend going to another Lincoln dealership for service. I had an appointment at Billy Howell to get my Lincoln Aviator serviced and to receive a loaner vehicle, which was confirmed by their staff. Upon arrival, there was no loaner vehicle. They proceeded to tell me that I needed to call them a day before to confirm the loaner was in fact available (note to staff: this should not be your customers responsibility). Since there was no loaner (after driving 25 minutes to this location), we rescheduled for the same time the next day, assured by the staff that my loaner would be available then. To my surprise (just kidding), we called ahead of time to find out the loaner was not available. The staff didn't care, they just offered to re-schedule again and confirm that it was MY responsibility to make sure the loaner is present before my CONFIRMED appointments with a CONFIRMED loaner. This is the second year in a row of something similar with their service department. Last year, they also told me it was my responsibility to reach out to confirm my RESERVED loaner is available prior to my appointment. I reached out, confirmed it was available, drove 25 minutes to find out the loaner was not yet ready unless I was okay with an uncleaned loaner that was dropped off the night before. Note: my initial call with Angela Krause dealership was great -- they were astonished at this experience with Billy Howell and proceeded to tell me that when you reserve a loaner with them, you can guarantee to receive it upon arrival for your appointment. I had my 2016 Mustang (low mileage, garage kept, detailed regularly) in for a basic service that was finished the same day. Came to pick it up the next day to find it had damage to the transmission. Was asked to leave it till Monday (it was Saturday) so the transmission guy could look at it, sure. I was only able to pick up my car 11 days later. My service advisor did not call me when my car was ready the first time, did not answer my calls, was defensive when MY car was damaged in their possession and was trying to charge me ~$400 for it. The time I was able to reach my advisor, was by calling another department, and having them transfer me to her directly. In that conversation she told me she'd have the mechanic install the part and call me back next day, she didn't call me the day she said should would, or the day after, and it wasn't even ready when I called in another day after on top of that. On the bright side Tyler in service (who was not my advisor) actually seemed to want to help me with my issue. Was still charged for the part, and had to pay for my own transportation multiple times. Susan, my service advisor was rude, did not return my calls, and talked in circles when I asked what the status of my vehicle was! She always said she would have answers tomorrow and then would dodge my calls! I had to go through the main service number and have her paged! I was never rude to her she was just so disorganized!!! I will be the first to say when you go to a car dealer they aren't all the same. I chose to come here because I heard good things. I bought a car from Carl Black in Hiram and it's my fault I didn't go back. They were excellent, especially after the sale. I had an issue with the car I bought there, they promised to fix it and brought in a tech from GM to come fix it right. It cost them a pretty penny but the entire time they just wanted to make it right. My issue was they were so far away from me. Hence I decided to read reviews from other dealers closer and decided to try here. I bought my truck on Saturday at Billy Howell and unlike some people sitting in a dealership all day waiting isn't what I prefer. Get in, get out and pay a fair price. They kept me there about 3 hours. Not too bad. They do the old marker on a Manila folder trick with all kinds of scribbling. Total BS to entice the customer into thinking some magic is happening. It's cool. No biggie. The whole finance rate thing as well. Offer you the rate then glad hand and work with you to suddenly drop it a few points. In general the Salesperson was fine, general manager was fine the day of the sale. My biggest issues were I was flat out lied to and not once. I get the car business is shady. 1. Sales person told me my credit was pulled 40 times by a previous dealer. This was flat untrue. I have a credit tracker that shows me everything happening on all three agencies. After she walked away I looked it up and saw exactly how many times it was pulled and to where. It wasn't even 5 times. She lied. 2. I was promised a second key for the vehicle I bought by the sales person and I sent email and phone calls to the sales person after not hearing for a week. The last thing I was told was "I will check in with you next week on the key." I tried to reach the salesperson first and then the general manager. The sales person when I called didn't recognize my number when I called and told me they had been trying to retrieve the key and said I will call you right back. Never did. 3. When I called the general manager who shook my hand and sweet talked my wife and daughter during the sale told me "well if it's not on the we owe paperwork it's not our issue. Maybe the salesperson will pay for it." 4. Sales person called me right back (the same person who lied to my face about my credit) after and said how hard they had tried to get the key but they couldn't. Never an offer to make it right. When I was asked about the car otherwise I told them about an issue with one of the headlights I noticed after buying it (the socket that the headlight goes into was burnt out and will have to be replaced) I was told "that's how used cars are." Uh....I dropped $26k in your dealership and that was the response? Service after a sale is important. After the review was posted, Bill Howell called me himself to make it right. The current status of this issue is being evaluated by Billy Howell Fords insurance carrier. Once they send out an inspector we will determine how this will be handled. The service tech who did the work on the truck did come out and look at the work. He showed where he had made the connections which were not near the fire area. But the wires that he was working on do run to the area where the fire started. So think of it like this when you hook up jumper cables to a car to start it and it doesn't start right away as your trying to get it started the jumper cable doesn't get hot where you made the connection it to the battery it gets hot all along the wire. When the service tech was there he stated that when the alarm would go off every light in the entire truck would flash, headlights tail lights dome light everywhere meaning every wire he made a connection with ran all throughout the truck. A fire could have started anywhere in that entire truck from the connections he made in that one part of the dash. Just like the jumper cable doesn't get hot at the battery connection but all throughout the wire. We will see what Billy Howell Fords insurance company has to say when they inspect the truck. I searched for a certified, low mileage, Continental over a year and finally found what I wanted at Billy Howell Ford. I called and spoke with Jim Mee to confirm car was as advertised. I was specific about purchasing this $40k car CERTIFIED about not being wrecked or damaged. Jim called and assured me the car had not been wrecked and he had even checked it himself. After several conversations, pictures I decided to have him hold the car until I could get there. I live in Savannah and arrived in Cummings GA that Friday. I purchased the car and even bought another $4500 warranty. The drivers door had a popping noise and I took it to OC Welch in Bluffton SC to check it. They called to let me know the car had been wrecked!! Billy Howell never told us that. In fact they told us the opposite. We contacted Billy Howell and talked with Jerry McDonald and they strung us along, avoiding phone calls but when we talked to them we were told they would find another car and we could trade out. We stipulated the car had to have less than 20k miles and it was agreed. Time went by and we heard nothing. We called periodically and was still led to believe they were looking. We found a car ourselves and called Mr McDonald. It was at that point he said we are not doing anything. After the time and promises we found out what Billy Howell is really all about. They lied and failed to follow thru on promises. I would not suggest anyone do business with this company and we will continue to tell our story of how Billy Howell ripped us off. So disappointing.
