After 20+ years of my family bringing our vehicles to Scott's Auto, I'm extremely disappointed to say this will be our last time. Originally, I had Akebono brake pads installed on my vehicle based on Scott's Auto's recommendation. Unfortunately, I had to bring my car back at least six times over the course of several months trying to resolve ongoing brake issues related to that setup. After repeatedly dealing with the problem and getting frustrated, I decided to try a different option and asked them to install NAPA Adaptive One brakes, which had been recommended to me by another dealer. Scott's Auto went ahead and installed them without hesitation. However, no one bothered to inform me that those brakes were not really intended for my specific vehicle or that there may have been a better option. Additionally, I was never told they wouldn't be covered under warranty. As the professionals working on my car, I would have expected them to at least tell me that the parts I requested weren't the best choice and recommend something more appropriate. The most frustrating part is that John only told me this AFTER the brakes were already installed and said word verbatim "I would have never put these on your vehicle." Had I known that beforehand, I would never have chosen to put them on in the first place. The entire situation could have easily been avoided with a simple conversation. When I tried to discuss this with John, the response I received was extremely dismissive and unprofessional. Instead of acknowledging the situation or understanding why I was upset, he told me "you're a grown adult, you can make your own decisions." That completely misses the point. Of course I can make my own decisions--but I trusted the professionals I've been going to for decades to inform me if something I requested wasn't appropriate for my vehicle. Rather than taking any accountability, John accused me of arguing and said he didn't want to have a debate. I wasn't looking for a debate--I was looking for a reasonable explanation and basic customer service. After two decades of loyalty, the way this was handled was shocking. Between the repeated visits to fix the original brake issue and the dismissive way I was treated afterward, John provided one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. Unfortunately, after 20+ years of service, Scott's Auto has officially lost my business and the business of my entire family. Congratulations. read more

Literally terrible in every aspect. Takes advantage of women. Repaired my vehicle half-way to ensure that I would be back to secure another 1000+ repair in the future. Sent my "repaired" vehicle back to me with a improper oil plug that dealer found, charged me 2x for the same procedure in the same ticket. Overcharged me for items that weren't even necessary. I wish I could do 10 stars, will never go anywhere else. My jeep has been to Scott's more times than anyone would want, lol. Nevertheless, we all have heard or even be apart of situations were we have gone to get work done on a car and have had to put trust in those mechanics and then they say you need new brakes, transmission or even engine, later getting a second opinion where they see no such problem. At Scott's this will never be the case, one time I took my jeep in and I truly thought there was something seriously wrong with it. However, they quickly diagnosed it with something as little as my negative cable on my battery being slightly loose. These guys can be trusted and I truly mean that, put politics aside and go get your car taken cared of by the best auto shop in Georgia. ( I usually don't make reviews, but hate seeing people because of politics try and tear down this truly amazing business with amazing employees. ). read more

Scott's replaced a coolant line to my Turbo. I thought it was a little expensive so I got an estimate from a Lincoln dealer and Scott's was $600.00 less. I've been a Service Manager since 1976 when I finished my 4 years in the military. I've worked for an independent Goodyear Tire shop, Midas Muffler and my last job was 31 years at a shop very similar to Scott's. The shop 12 bays and 9 lifts. I usually had 7-8 techs working under me. I was impressed with Paul as he was the only person I dealt with and the fact they're closed Saturday and Sunday shows how they value their employees. Scott's has been a part of this community longer than my 15 years here but I honestly hadn't heard much about them. The place is always crazy busy so that scared me from thinking I could ever get in. When I finally had the nerve to reach out they shocked me and were able to squeeze me in the very next day. They stayed in touch and gave me estimates before doing anything and delivered exactly what I needed and faster than estimated. I now take all of my cars there and getting the same experience every time. I also really appreciate that these are real people and are willing to stand as a member of the community and aren't afraid to speak up and contribute likewise. As consumers we often "support local businesses" but local businesses are often afraid to support the community. Not Scott's! It's worth mentioning that my wife receives the same experience when she goes in too. I can't believe I wasted years not coming here. My family loves Scott's Auto. We've been bringing our cars there for over 5 years and will continue. I even drive over an hour away, as I'm at college, to bring my car there whenever it needs service. Everyone there is honest and helpful when explaining what needs to be done and they are sure to get your car back in a timely manner. My daughter came home from college for the weekend needing to get her emissions done. We pulled in and the technician said they were closing. I asked if they could make an exception as she couldn't find anywhere in Savannah to get it done. They let her pull in and have it done. Bob, at the front desk, was so friendly, understanding and kind. He even let us feed the beautiful fish in the waiting area. I'd highly recommend this place! I brought my Kia sorento here Which Kia said my issues would be over 3k to fix. They wanted to charge me for all new parts instead of taking the time to actually assess and fix the issue but Scott's auto took the time to assess the issue and it only cost me $160. They were so quick and communicated very well on what needed to be done and if it was OK if they went ahead with the repair, I will definitely bring my car here instead of Kia from now on. not too mention, i dropped my car off at 8am and by 10am it was ready! thank you scotts auto! read more

I first came to Scott's in 2014, I was a SAHM with a baby and needed my car serviced (2004 Ford Explorer.) I lived very close and heard great things about them. When I walked into the lobby I wasn't greeted or acknowledged for a good while, even though there weren't that many people in there, once the guy started addressing me he was very rude and short and condescending. I felt like he didn't want to help me so I left. Later in the day I came back with my husband and the same person was there, greeted my husband right away and was friendly and helpful, but he would only address my husband, even if I asked the question. A few years later(2019), I needed an oil change and figured I'd give them another try since it had been so long, maybe they have changed or it was just a bad day when I was in there last. I spoke to Bob and again, very condescending and rude, he mentioned I was a woman driver so they'd need to see if anything else was wrong with my car. I left, I won't support a business that treats women lesser than men. I've also seen his incredibly ridiculous signs over the pandemic, criticizing anyone wearing a mask or take precautions. Today, a new sign was up praising them for over 4,000 5 Star reviews, and I've noticed tons of previous negatives reviews have been deleted, including my previous one from years ago. read more

I took my car for oil change at this shop. But, I discovered oil change at dealership is much cheaper than Scotts auto center. Scotts charges $58 and dealership charges $40. They did not even match other competition prices and they did not honor their coupon for buying an oil change and get one free for next time. Instead, they wanted to give just $25 off for next oil change. I took my car to dealership and had a great service at lower cost. read more

This is a review about a service visit and a non-visit. The non-visit details first since it was a bit unusual. I called to make an appointment for an emissions issue, talking to Scott's they asked for more info about the issue and things I had checked. They mentioned that 50-60% of the time it was a specific solenoid that went bad and it was easy to replace if you had some mechanical ability. They said give it a shot and if it didn't correct the issue to go ahead and schedule the appointment. I picked up a new solenoid and installed it in about 10 minutes and the problem was corrected. This could have been an easy, profitable fix for Scott's but they instead provide the cheapest and easiest solution for me. Greatly appreciated. We have also brought our other vehicle to Scott's for a diagnosis and repair a couple of times. Both times they have quickly figured out what the issue was and promptly repaired it at a very reasonable price. We recommend them whenever anyone asks where to have their car repaired. read more

Had a flat tire. They fixed for free even though I had never been there before. I personally like the billboards. Keeps reality in perspective. I haven't seen anything offensive on them, just proven statistics. They actually are respectful of people wearing masks. When I walked in wearing a mask, the employees immediately put theirs on. First time I tried Scott's was for a second opinion from another John's Creek repair shop who said I needed over $700 worth of repairs. Thank god I didn't take their word for it because Scott's was actually honest about what I actually needed! No where near $700 in repairs! I go here for everything now and have benefitted by the exceptional service and being called by name. They know me and they know my cars and I wouldn't go anywhere else! Ask for Bob at the desk. In general I have had good experiences with Scott's for the few times I have used them for work on at least three vehicles. The front desk staff are knowledgeable and polite, and the work appears to be done right. Please be cautious of price quotes however. In my last visit, I was charged more than the quoted price for the work which I did not notice until after returning home with the vehicle. Not all charges and fees are being represented in their quotes, and can catch you by surprise. I attempted to hold them accountable to their quote, and was told no. After expressing that this seemed misleading and even a bit dishonest, we mutually agreed to no longer do business with each other. The amount in question is not significant, but for me it was the principle of keeping with the quoted price, or at least be made aware of additional charges. read more

I am a very thrifty shopper. Always want the most for my money. I've checked several reviews of Scots Auto Center and thought I would give him a try. I need an alignment, a tire, and an oil change. After 30 minutes they came back and told me the alignment was not necessary. The pull was a minor brake issue and the tires just needed rotating.Within an hour, my car was ready and they gave me a coupon for free oil change. My bill was under $100 dollars. I recommend him to everybody and will use him again. read more

Scott, I need to talk with you about the mismanagement of your shop. Basic automotive services are not being performed correctly and no quality control is in place. When a problem about the service is presented to your staff, it becomes a situation where the customer is totally disregarded and disrespected. I recently paid for a service and noticed that it was not performed. I showed your staff photos that clearly indicated the work was not done. This may have been an oversight by the mechanic, but your staff basically called me a liar and told me to take my business somewhere else. Having been a customer over ten years, this is absolutely unacceptable. It is shameful that any member of your staff would act in such a manner and basically promote quantity over quality. read more

Very professional, courteous service writers. I would like to use them as they have a good reputation and the staff seemed very knowledgeable. And lobby and shop is clean and a place my wife would feel comfortable visiting and waiting in. I took an older car in and received estimates for repairs totaling $1300. I decided to hold off on the repairs to consider replacing the car for a while before having the repairs completed. They charged me $167 total for the diagnosis of two of the repairs. They had suggested ahead a diagnosis fee of $45. They did diagnose two issues rather than one but I still feel $167 was a very high diagnosis fee for what was diagnosed. I have not ever paid anything near that in the past at other shops. They would give me credit for this if I had the repairs done but I still feel this is excessive. Not sure I will return. read more

Scotts Auto Center has been my mechanic for over 5 years now. Every oil change, car wash, and repair has been done there on every single one of my cars. This is such an amazingly clean and professionally run establishment that I honestly look forward to bringing my car in. I know it can be a pain to drop a car off or make an appointment for just an oil change, but these guys are worth every dime and extra minute you spend compared to any mechanic in the area. Also, make sure you take advantage of their free car service. If/when I need to leave a car there for the day, they drive me back to my office and will come pick me up free of charge. TL/DR: -This is the best mechanic in the entire area and probably the best in the state. -It can be a pain that you have to make an appointment for an oil change and/or a car wash, but it is worth every dime. -They have never lead me wrong, and are always truthful. read more

I had a wonderful experience- thanks to Kevin Johnson, my service advisor. I needed an oil/filter change, and also asked about a few other issues. Kevin answered every question with patience and kindness, and made sure I understood about the specific needs of my older model Toyota Highlander. Several friends had told me that Scott's was a first-class repair shop, and now I see why they said all of the great things about everyone who works there. Went in for an oil change. This is the 2nd time I went to Scott's for an oil change. They are a little more pricey but quicker then others. First visit, no issues. 2nd visit, we got a call the oil pan was stripped and needed replaced. A $70 pan and an hours labor to replace. They said they noticed it being stripped the first visit, but yet didn't bother to document it or tell us about it. We don't believe this stripped pan story because this truck has not been leaking oil. You would think a stripped oil plug would leak oil. This was on a 2015 truck btw. Especially within 6 months since the last oil change. We don't feel they were being honest with us on this. We asked for a price negotiation on this added repair, and they were unwilling to meet us 1/2 way. As a customer, we have decided we won't be back. read more

I happened to drift in to Scott's Auto Center when my car ran out of gas in the middle of the intersection. They didn't hesitate to get me more than enough gas to make it to the nearby station for nothing in return. My parents live nearby and have also fully recommended using Scott's for auto service. I went to Scott's Auto Center for a 2nd opinion on my brakes, after I had gone to Dekalb Tire down the street (as recommended by a friend). James, at DeKalb Tire told me that I needed new front AND back brakes at a price of $600+, with the scare tactics and all. I am a single mom who constantly carries around my children all of the time and was really upset and I felt as though he had me hostage. My car is less than 3 years old, so I called my Dad for advice and he suggested that I leave DeKalb Tire and go elsewhere. Thank goodness!!! The next day I went to Scott's Auto Center and met with Cheron Brannigan, a Service Advisor, at the front desk who was a complete charm!! I met with Dan in the back and with Scott who owns Scott's Auto Center and they all put my mind at ease!!! I only needed 1/2 of the repairs at LESS than 1/2 of what DeKalb Auto was going to charge me!!!! Also, I have also taken my son's Honda Pilot there for a new oil pan and we were treated with respect, honesty and courtesy. Thank goodness for a wonderful company with an exceptional staff of highly competent people.
