    Chicken alla vodka parm cone
    Joanne P.

Def worth the viral insta hype! Place looks like a typical dive diner on the outside-I guess inside too, no frills to the ambiance but that social media menu is next level! I came with a party of 8 for lunch and we were seated and greeted right away. I went with the skittles dirty soda and I don't even like skittles but this drink was so fruity and delish. For lunch, I got the chicken alla vodka parm cones-which came with two huge bread cones fully loaded with chicken oozing with sauce & cheese. I could only finish one and took the other for leftovers. The bread was soft and flavorful. It was a heavy dish but very good. Our service was very quick and friendly. I'll def be back to try more!

Here's the Scoop! This Diner has an extensive menu but on Social media they're known for their large Mac & Cheese burger, fried chicken mac and cheese. One serving can feed 4 people. It was huge and delicious. When it arrived at the table my mouth hit the floor in shock at the size. Come hungry and ready to eat. It was very tasty and we enjoyed it but could not finish it. This is a place to check out. We were a group of 4 and we couldn't finish any of our food. I'm definitely going back to try something else from the menu.

Island Lake is a great Diner, period. You can find many of their new concoctions on social media, IG for me as I'm not on FB, which draws the crowds and surely makes for repeat visits. There is actually a social media menu! This one particular visit is what prompted me to write! It was the Bread Cone that my daughter's BF saw on IG he's been dying to try. Let me tell you the pictures on IG does not do this dish justice!! Its huge, 2 per serving, and there was zero left at the end of our meal! I've been to Island Lakes several times and they never disappoint. They are one of the better diners in Suffolk County but definitely look them up on IG and see what all the hoopla is about and all the unusual dishes they have created, I promise you'll be going to Island Lake for you next diner visit!

Had a great experience at Island Lake Diner. This place really gives you that classic Long Island diner feel but with a modern twist and a HUGE menu. They have everything from all-day breakfast to burgers, wraps, and even creative mac & cheese options, so there's truly something for everyone. The portions are generous (definitely come hungry), and the food overall was solid--comfort food done right. Everything tasted fresh, and you can tell they don't skimp on ingredients. The vibe is casual and family-friendly, and the staff was welcoming and attentive without being overbearing. What stood out most is how reliable it is--you can come here any time of day and know you'll get a good meal. Whether you're stopping in for a quick breakfast, a late-night bite, or a full sit-down dinner, it hits every time. Overall, a staple diner in the Ronkonkoma area that's worth checking out if you're craving classic diner food with big portions and a welcoming atmosphere. You MUST TRY THE SOCIAL MEDIA MENU!!

THIS IS BIG! The biggest menu I ever seen, (largest selection) the biggest portions as well. The biggest glass of soda I have had! Prices are very reasonable, food made fresh and tasty. Service is attentive and fast. Good ambiance and lots of parking!

I used to frequent the Island Lake diner, until I continuously received terrible service or was forgotten about at my table. I am pleased to say that it seems like this is no longer an issue. Our server was friendly, attentive, and great at his job. The diner was packed with a 20-30 minute wait and our server was running circles around many of the others. It is bright and clean and although not the newest anymore, still looks better than many other diners in the area. We obviously ordered off of the "social media" section of the menu and we were not disappointed. We got a bread bowl with buffalo mac &Cheese and the chicken Alfredo tacos which were actual pieces of chicken cutlet shaped like taco shells which had Alfredo pasta on the inside. The portions were huge and the food was flavorful and cooked fresh. This diner is a must try if you've never been. It seems like the older generation of owners have started listening to the younger generation. Things are new and relevant and the favoritism for the "regulars"doesn't affect the service that other customers get. When you come be sure to wear your stretch pants because you will need them!

Penne alla vodka chicken taco New York Chicken Wrap

Seen this place all over TikTok and had to come try. The penne alla vodka was amazing but the chicken itself is quite bland. Wish it had more seasoning with the breading as it tasted very plain and boring. We also got the new york chicken wrap which tasted like a healthy homemade version of a McDonald's snack wrap which tasted great! Fries came with it too which tasted very good also. I would love to try the chicken parm crusted style pizza with pasta next time as the regular breaded chicken wasn't up to my expectations. Great place to give a try if you're near the area!

We had a great diner meal here yesterday. My burger was perfect and they have these chicken cutlet taco dishes and its very generous and good tasting.

I've been to this diner about four times now and the food is always so good. Think elevated and modern diner food that has trendy/viral food options. The interior is super casual but has more personality than your average diner. Service is always so great and Christine is my go-to server!

So social media did it again - this place is good. We ordered the trending Chicken Caesar cones and the penne chicken tacos. The penne chicken tacos were delicious, would go back just for that. Chicken Caesar cones, were ok. The salad itself was great, the cones - not a fan. Onion rings 10/10. The service is excellent! The place is set up like an old school dinner, which is awesome. Will definitely visit again to try other dishes for sure. Looking around, everything looked soo good.

Island Lake Diner is one of the most exciting spots I've eaten at on Long Island! From the moment we walked in, the vibe was great and the food was even better. We tried the Vanilla Birthday Cake Milkshake and the Chocolate Cake Shake -- both were rich, fun, and so over-the-top in the best way. The Penne alla Vodka in a warm bread bowl topped with crispy chicken cutlet strips was insanely comforting and flavorful. Then came the viral Chicken Cutlet Pasta Tacos -- literally crispy chicken cutlets shaped into taco shells and filled with creamy fettuccine alfredo. It sounds wild, and somehow it works perfectly. We also had juicy steak tacos and sizzling chicken fajitas with tortillas, guac, and salsa -- everything was fresh and packed with flavor. And the service? Super friendly and fast. If you love creative, over-the-top comfort food, Island Lake Diner is a must. Definitely adding this to my regular rotation!

That describes the last time I was at Nappi's Nook, over two years ago. Flash forward to this morning and we're looking at an update that shows a much different experience this time around. You see that first time at Nappi's was not long after they had opened. Kinks were definitely still being worked out and at the time, I just couldn't see it as a place worth choosing over other breakfast spots. But seeing reviews, awards, and that the place was still standing years later led my wife and I to come check them out again. This second time around we snagged a table (they definitely get crowded quickly) and had some very friendly service from our waitress. Things started with their Nappicinos which were a huge misfire that first time, but a definite improvement today. My wife got the Biscoff variety while I got the Peanut butter cup and boy were they tasty. A good balance of coffee and sweet flavors. Now when it came to food, last time I went with chicken and waffles which (from pics) still seemed like something I might enjoy more elsewhere and so instead, I landed on The Stove Top Skillet. This was a combo of onions, peppers, potatoes, sausage, cheese, and over easy eggs. It came out piping hot and it was honestly impressive in how it tasted. I liked the thinly sliced sausage coins and although the pepper pieces were a little massive, they were soft enough with everything mixing together nicely. As for the wife, she went with a special in the form of the hash omelette which was exactly as it sounded with Swiss cheese and paprika hollandaise sauce on top along with breakfast potatoes on the side. I tried it and it was pretty tasty as well. One last item we chose to order was a single beignet for $2.50 as a side option. Sometimes we're just not feeling a full sweet breakfast, but this little fried ball filled with chocolate did the trick. Was it comparable to Cafe Du Monde? No way, but it was still quality. Honestly, the whole meal was quality and definitely several steps up from that first round a few years back. The only true gripe I can give is the soundtrack to Nappi's. The music, a touch louder than one might think at 9 in the morning, was a little too trance/dance/club for the vibe of breakfast. Maybe on a Sunday for a boozy brunch, but perhaps some music changes would create a little more of a "Nook" feel. Perhaps? Overall though, I'm really very impressed and glad to have given Nappi's Nook a second shot. It may have taken some time for that to happen, but it showed that this place was the real deal because it was still around, and winning Best of LI awards in the meantime. Perhaps a place to get to on the earlier side, but for sure a location I know I will be returning to for round three much sooner than expected.
