We've been coming here every time we stop in Camp Verde for years. Great service and amazing food! The location changed during Covid so she could have a drive through, and we were afraid the chain restaurants had forced her out. Everything on the menu is excellent and authentic. The restaurant is smaller now, but plenty cozy. Do yourself a huge favor: skip the Taco Bell and Filiberto's, and get yourself some real Mexican food! I cannot say enough good things about this place. It's a must eat. read more

'Good things' never last long. Visiting from out of town. Since Gabriela's moved, next to the DQ, the burritos my wife and I had were not the same as before their previous location. As if they have changed ownership, management or something else. Burritos used to be made with 'love'. Disappointed, didn't feel the love in this burrito (carne asada). Just generic. Don't get me wrong, loads of meat, just different. Like the meat hadn't been seasoned. And very little amount of salsa and guacamole leaving the burrito tasting bland and dry. I recommend Gabriela's returned to their Mission Statement and fundamentals of how they used to prepare food. Because they used to be great! And I always recommended to friends and family who live in the area or passing by. Now, I can no longer can recommend. Bummer. read more

Pretty good Mexican food. The grapefruit soda pop was tasty and went well with me meal. I appreciated that they served some breakfast type meals all day. I'd never tried a Machaca Ranchero meal before and appreciated finding something out of the ordinary on their menu. The grilled Mexican jalapeno was WOW! This place is special. Casual and a bit on the fast food side of things but in a special way. The food isn't the best I've ever had but the people running the place made it special. We went to another spot for Mexican first but this was the place we ended up going to more than once. The chips are sturdy and their hot sauce is VERY hot... be careful. Family owned authentic Mexican restaurant that is a must try if you're in the area. While leaving Sedona heading back to Phoenix, I was so happy I stumbled across this gem. All three of our entrées were bigger than we've ever been served, and all three of us agreed the best from coast to coast! The staff was amazingly friendly and helpful. We stopped at this place twice while we were staying in Sedona and traveling around. There is a drive through which is super convenient. The food takes a little while to make but it is worth it and stays hot for so long, you can wait twenty minutes to eat it. We got tacos and breakfast burritos as well as sopapillas and melon agua fresca. We loved everything we got. Awesome chorizo. Awesome flavor. Very friendly staff. I have been going to Gabrielas at least twice a week for over a year. This is the most authentic Mexican food you will find in Northern Arizona. Everything on the menu is amazing... and I have tried it all. There is a special every day. Taco Tuesday is one of the best deals you can find if you love tacos. Thursdays, all burritos are $7. The Joshua burrito is one of the best burritos I have ever had.. assuming you can finish it. Everything is made from scratch, and it truly shows. Great food :) I wanted a super Carne Asada burrito, but they don't do it like that. You get your meat, pico de gallo and guacamole included, then everything else costs money. It wound up being almost $19 for a burrito (and I didn't add rice, which I usually have) but dang they were good! I would go more often if they were just a little less expensive. read more

Stopped at Filiberto's, was completely ignored by the staff in the back doing nothing and laughing as I'm just waiting. I'm so glad they have bad customer service because I came to Gabriela's as a plan B and I'm so glad I did. Our Son wanted Dairy Queen. We finally figured out the 2 drive thrus are (kind of) connected. I also wanted to try this new place to compare the food. I decided on a ground beef Cali burrito and a bean burrito. I only asked for green salsa but they gave me red too. I am so glad! The burritos themselves were hot and delicious and the green salsa was very good, kind of had a deeper roasted green chili flavor and thick. Then I decided to try the red and wow!. Also thick and roasted deep flavors. I felt like it made the already great burrito rise over the top in flavors. I Def want to try the Joshua next time thru. It is approximately $3 extra to make it enchilada style but the price makes sense because they basically drown it! It was hot and good. Reasonable prices. Chips and salsa were complimentary. We ordered the cheese enchilada plate with beans and rice, the supreme quesadilla, a beef taco, and jalapeño poppers. All of the food was cold. The cheese inside of the enchilada wasn't melted. The jalapeño poppers were the fried kind and those were even cold. The supreme quesadilla was like an open face quesadilla so it was more like a tostada on a soft flour tortilla. The beef taco came on a crunchy shell and was soggy and falling apart. Keep in mind we didn't travel far with the food, we were literally right across the street at comfort inn. Called the place to complain about the cold food and the person I talked to offered a full refund if I took all the food back. We declined and they instead offered a free enchilada plate next time. We spent over 35 bucks on a few items and was definitely a waste of money. Will not be returning, and would not recommend. read more

This is a not so hidden gem in Camp Verde! Located in the same building as the Dairy Queen! The owner is there cooking the fantastic menu options, she is also extremely friendly and makes everyone feel extremely welcome! The menu has all the options you can thank of for a great Mexican restaurant! Her enchilada sauce is fantastic and the breakfast options range from pancakes to a breakfast enchilada stack! Ate here twice in one day! Had a potato soft taco, which was even better than the chicken taco! Our friend had a chili relleno and said it was the best he had ever had! We were heading to Taco Bell but saw a long line in the drive thru for Gabriela's, so decided to try it out. It happened to be TACO TUESDAY. We got carne asada tacos, which were the street tacos. It was exploding with meat! The tortilla were thin and fresh. We also got ELOTE!!! It was surprising good!! Anytime we drive through this area, we will definitely stop here! I took a chance getting lunch at this small business instead of at one of the several chain restaurants around it, and I'm so glad I did. I got a chile relleno by itself and an elote (street corn). They also brought tortilla chips to my table. Everything was hot, fresh, and delicious. I have ordered chiles rellenos in many restaurants, and honestly, this was one of the best I've ever had. They did make the mistake of putting green sauce over the chile relleno instead of red sauce, which the waitress noticed just as she was about to put it down on my table and offered to rectify, but I told her not to worry about it. It was delicious with the green sauce and I'm sure it would be just as good with the red sauce; in fact, now I have something to look forward to the next time I come here - which I definitely will do next time I'm up in this area!
