As a customer, that says a lot about the work environment. What I found especially unprofessional was hearing previous stylists being spoken about negatively. Regardless of what happened behind the scenes, publicly criticizing former employees or discussing their financial situations is inappropriate and reflects poorly on the business. When I arrived (about 5 minutes early), the salon receptionist notified Pat I was there. Pat came around the corner, looked at me and shook her head and said "I don't know her". The receptionist told her I'm new, then Pat told me it would be a little while since I'm early. No problem. When I finally was in the chair, draped with a cape, and pulled my hair down, I told Pat what I wanted. First she did a dry cut, then a shampoo, and cleaned things up. While I can say she did a good job on the cut, she was not in the least a warm, friendly person. I felt like I was really inconveniencing her by being there.
