I went to Gadabout with long healthy hair and came out with the worst haircut and color ever at a cost of $400.00 My long healthy hair is now a bunch of broken ends and continues to break off. I wanted the color removed because my hair is turning white and to keep it healthy I did not want to continue coloring it. It is now shoulder length in some places and shorter in others. I know that eventually I will get my hair back to it's normal healthy state but unless you are prepared to spend years with broken hair I suggest you go elsewhere. Been going to Gadabout for along time now, just recently started to go to this location a few weeks ago though. I always get blonde highlights and become brighter, but this time around I'm not very pleased. My hair stylist suggested a treatment and my hair has never felt so dry before. My hair feels awful. I also didn't like that my stylist was working with other people at the same time. I ended up being there for 3 hours!!! Insane and for what it cost, I except better service and attention from the stylist. I'm definitely going to rethink Gadabout, or at least this location. read more

I had been pretty loyal to another salon but decided to go to Gadabout for a change. Olivia was my stylist and she did such an amazing job...my hair hasn't looked this good in a long, long time. She listened to exactly what I wanted and took the time to explain what colors she was going to use and what she was doing along the way. I got full highlights and a cut. The shampoo was a "spa" experience and I was so relaxed after having my head and neck massaged while shampooed that I almost fell asleep. I literally felt like I was the most important person in the salon and the environment was incredible. One of the owners (I think...or someone who is at the corporate level) stopped in and wished each of the stylists a very Happy Thanksgiving. He even stopped to wish me a great holiday as well and inquired about my experience. The management obviously knows how to care for their staff and it shows in how happy everyone was there. The reception area was great and the receptionist was so nice. I left the Salon feeling so beautiful and sexy :). As a new mom, it's been a while since I felt that way and I am sooooo grateful to Olivia and Gadabout for giving me such an amazing experience. Needless to say, I'll be going to Gadabout for as long as I live in Tucson and will be recommending Olivia and Gadabout to everyone I know. Thank you! read more

I went in for a haircut after work and the stylist barely paid any attention to me- she was too busy making evening plans with her co-stylist. She was rough with my hair and didn't style my hair the way I asked. I had been there before and thought it was pretty good but this experience made me never want to go back. It was too expensive to be disappointed with the cut and personally, I don't have the luxury of going back to get a do-over. read more

i've been going to gadabout for about four years and i wouldn't think about going anywhere else for my beauty needs! vanessa has been my esthetician and every time i get a brow wax, she gives me the perfect maintained shape while following my natural brow line. i feel like she really understands the look i'm going for and offers lots of helpful suggestions to maintain the look! the ambiance created in the spa is also amazing, and i feel so relaxed every time i walk in the doors. the staff is super nice and accommodating! i would definitely recommend gadabout, and specifically the river location! read more

I would like to let whomever may be of concern know of a situation I experienced today. Although my surgery schedule can be extremely hard to schedule appointments in advance gadabout has always been accommodating to my situation-until today. I checked in for a 5pm nail appointment and was asked to sit-no refreshments offered like usual. Three girls stood up front talking amongst themselves and offered me no help looking for products or finding where my technician was (runing behind etc) during the next 30 minutes. I made myself available and present in case my nail technician came to get me. 20 minutes later I realized that was not going to happen. I was given no explanation for why I was ignored in the store for a half hour and why my appointment would not be honored. If the technician was running behind I would have thought common curtosy would move one if these girls to help with my situation. Needless to say I am extremely disappointed I ran over from the hospital on my break to be completely ignored. I would never recommend this location to anyone. Every experience I have here is similar. Disinterested front desk with a complete lack if concern for customer satisfaction. read more

For the second time since I have been going to Gadabout (River & Campbell) my appt has been screwed up. Today, 11/30/17 I received a call at 230pm confirming an appt @ 9am-12/1 with the wrong stylist. My appt was with a different stylist at 8am on 12/1. This appt was made with the manager, on her recommendation on Oct 6 to switch from one stylist to another- I have the appt in writing by the assistant who was on hand the morning I had a discussion with the manager and SHE (the manager) suggested I change stylists - Thanks Gadabout - good job, nice way to treat your customers. read more

I usually have facial waxing at this location with no problems, however, my massage experience has not been the best. This situation has happened twice: having signed up for a 60 minute massage the therapist was running a little behind and started my massage 15 minutes late but stopped at the normal time. Therefore I paid for a 60 minute massage but received 45 minutes. The first time it happened I mentioned it to the front desk, they made such a big deal out of it that the second time I didn't want to go through the drama. I had the pleasure of going to Gadabout for the first time on Thursday. I had heard good things from my friends but I am extremely picky about my hair and usually do not feel ecstatic about the final results. Caitlin took the time to listen to everything that I liked/did not like about my hair. She asked great questions and made sure that she knew EXACTLY what I wanted. I took my daughter and 4 friends for pedicures for an 11th birthday party. I booked two weeks in advance with a gift card that was 10+ years old (which they accepted happily!). She worked around my schedule and checked all of the locations for the best times. I originally booked 4 pedicures, but then ended up with an extra girl. When I walked in and explained that, Celina was able to work around schedules and fit the extra kiddo in! All of the girls were very happy, the technicians were great, and Celina was WONDERFUL! read more

She was very helpful in explaining how she was going to go about trimming my hair. She also introduced me to a whole new way to style my naturally curly hair that I cannot wait to try at home! Gadabout was wonderful in coordinating hair and nail appointments for my four bridesmaids and me! They were so flexible with having to change times as wedding plans changed, and they were able to get all of us appointments within the time window that worked best for getting ready, photos, etc. Unfortunately, our hair stylists' booths were not close together so we were spread out for our appointments. But all of our hair turned out great and we all had lovely experience! They even had a massage therapist offer free chair massages before our appointments! Christina did my hair (long, side swept waves) and it turned out beautifully and lasted until the very last dance! My trial hair did not go very well so I was concerned, but Christina knew exactly what to do the day of! I would definitely recommend Gadabout for bridal parties! read more

I really enjoyed getting my hair done from Gadabout. Everyone was very nice and treated me like I had been a customer for years.

I was at this Gadabout yesterday for a manicure and pedicure. I have to say I am highly disappointed especially being the prices for the services are not cheap. While the two different ladies who performed my services were very nice, the nail polish on my manicure is already lifting on more than half my nails. I was hoping it would last at least a week but it didn't even last 24 hours. read more

Get my lashes done here, the service is good,price is reasonable compared to others for lash services. Only thing is, the bathrooms are so dark! No lighting in them, if I was to get my hair colored here I wouldn't be able to see the results in the mirrors in the bathroom for sure! Weird! read more

I have been going to Gadabout for years and love the stylists. My last trip was no different. The stylist is fantastic. I have been going to her for almost a year. I started with her because I could not get an appointment with my regular (this happens so almost every year for the last 7, I end up switching to a less trained stylist). When I paid for my usual service last week, I was charged close to $60.00 more for the exact same thing she has been doing to my hair every 4-6 weeks! I was not informed when I received a reminder call or when I scheduled my next appointment that her fees would be going. A notice from Gadabout would have been nice. I would not have returned to the salon had I known the new price. She is excellent, but I am getting the same things done to my hair. I understand she has gotten better at her job but $60.00 more! Unfortunately I love her and how she does my hair but if it is Gadabout's policy to treat regular customers this way with no accounting for loyalty, I will not be going back. So sorry A, I like you and hope nothing but the best for you. read more

Trust me - for the exorbitant prices, you can do better. MUCH better! I've gotten decent color from 2 separate stylists, but this is Tucson, not NYC! $200 for a cut in a salon that runs more like a sweatshop is NOT worth it. At my last appt my stylist was LITERALLY running between myself & 2 other clients. Makes you feel rushed & ANGRY at the amount of extra time you're spent waiting. Front desk girls are a gamble. When they're nice, they are SO nice, when they're not, be ready to put on your game face to get what you want! One last thing: I treated myself to a mani-pedi at the Grant location - bad idea! My technician said she would work on my callouses (gross, I know!) on my next few visits and that I really need monthly appts for "health reasons!" What?? Shellac chipped within 4 days, pedicure in 3. I could have saved $100 and do a better job. Everyone will push ridiculously expensive products on you. No thanks! I won't be going back. read more

I am a strong and reasonably confident woman, but I have never been very good at girl stuff -- hair, makeup, nails, spa services...it was all kind of a mystery. I just never felt a "part" of the loveliness that can come from beauty and style. And yes, I found those places a little intimidating and pretty much stuck to walk in haircut shops. Gadabout has changed everything for me. There, I walk in and feel at home. Every team member is warm, polite, professional, yet caring. I've worked with Rene, Brittany, and Brett Elizabeth and I adore them all. They are consummate listeners who are experienced, talented, and responsive to my preferences...even if I just want a "shake and go" haircut. No pressure! My hair has never looked better, felt healthier, or been easier to care for. I'm 60 years old and for the first time in years, I really like my hair.
