This salon offers two free detail trims(10-15 minutes) for people In the same position I was, after medical hair loss. What did I have to lose? I stayed with KAYCEE, going on 6 months now, as she is highly skilled, genuinely kind and fun to talk to. My children tell me I look at least 20 years younger now, than I did with long hair. And... I get a free detail appt between regular appointments. The front desk ladies are welcoming, the salon is attractive, and I enjoy my appointments there. I did not enjoy going to this Salon. I had color put in, highlights/lowlights. I went many times but was left with A LOT of roots showing. This I was told could not be helped (after). It was very expensive. I changed Salons and they were able to achieve this look (no roots) in one visit. I do not believe they are good with natural hair colors. From what I observed they do blues, reds, purples, and unnatural colors more so. The ladies at the front desk were always very nice and professional. read more

Today I received a pedicure from Emilie, and in short, she is amazing. She is so personable I was instantly comfortable, and as a first time patron, she explained all the options for each aspect of the procedure. I arrived to a very welcoming environment and a very pleasant experience. I was scheduled with Lauren, who was extremely knowledgeable and put me at ease immediately. We talked about what I wanted, and she listened intently and made suggestions, and really understood my needs. I typically have my hair thinned out a lot since it is very thick and sometimes unmanageable. This is the first time in about 20 years that I didn't have to ask for my hair to be thinned more because it hadn't been thinned enough. I've been so busy that I haven't been able to get my hair done. I really wanted to darken my hair up and get rid of the balayage that I had. My friends "urged" (OK...more like heavily insisted) that I use their hair stylist, Katie. I mean, if 5 different friends are recommending the same person then that's when you listen right? ;) Katie was wonderful! She's very friendly and really easy to talk to; my hair came out exactly how I wanted it. I was so glad that my hair process was a 2-step process because it entailed my hair getting washed twice, and it felt so relaxing! The pricing is decent and I received a welcome bag just for being a first time client. TIP: Try to not bring kids/significant others! Unfortunately, they don't have additional chairs or space in the back area to accommodate them. Plus, it'll probably be more relaxing not having to worry about them. Best Salon experience I have ever had! I don't go to salons; I did not know what to expect. Everyone was welcoming and helpful, the solon is chic but cozy, and the stylist, Sarah, was amazing. She gave me a consult a week before and then transformed my gray hair via toner treatment and an amazing cut into a beautiful easy-care shoulder-length look far better than I had dreamed. I love catching a glimpse of myself in the mirror now! And so reasonable I can go back as often as I like. This place is amazing. I went for a facial to treat myself and absolutely loved my experience! My esthetician's voice was very soothing, she told me exactly what she was doing and why during the entire treatment, and at the end of my appointment recommended great skincare to me that would address my skin concerns. Before I left, the receptionist gave me a little gift back with a chocolate bar which was really nice! I tried to avoid touching my skin in the car on the drive home but it was hard not to... my face had never felt so soft! When I got home and looked in the mirror my face was pretty red and I was absolutely mortified. I thought facials were supposed to help!? It wasn't until a few days later that I really noticed any visible improvement in my skin. As much as I loved it, I won't be returning for a monthly treatment. One of the best in Tucson! Katie was my expert stylist color guru. She truly is amazing. She has left the Salon due to a change in location. So made an appointment with someone else, that Katie suggested. Hair cut, actually a trim and PARTIAL highlights. Both times I was charged for full highlights! My whole head was not covered with foils? After the second appointment again being charged for full highlights, I left with the feeling of being taken advantage of. The stylist was also always compensated with a 20 % gratuity. I find this practice highly unethical without consulting the customer. Once is ok, however a reoccurrence of this is in my estimation is not the way to treat a Good customer. So now I'm in search for another Katie. read more

I had to find a place that will help me get my hair graduation ready! After browsing many and many options around Tucson I choose this salon and my instincts were right. Susana was my stylist and if I was a local I'll make sure I am her client. The consultation was through. Susana asked me questions I never was asked before: "do you like loose or tight curls?" "how long does your curl usually hold?" And what she did with my hair was a never-seen before; she curled each single strand-pin it up and when all "rows" are complete- she unpin each curl one by one while sprinkling a volumizer powder (or something!) then sprayed it and carefully opened the curl which resulted in a very voluminous curls. It lasted until next day! I mean I graduated then did some bar hopping and slept- next day my hair was still in exact state without looking too firm! 10 out of 5 stars! Also- the atmosphere of salon is beautiful, warm; and so inviting! Will come again whenever I visit! read more

I have been going to Salon de Nouveau for years and have had only pleasant experiences for waxing with Alyssa. The other experiences not so much. The haircuts - two of the worst hair cuts ever! The first time, they literally cut all of my hair off. I asked for short layers, but to keep the overall length. I wore glasses at the time (if you met me pre-lasik, you know what my coke bottle bottoms looked like) and I could not see what the stylist was doing until she was like ok put your glasses on! Tada! I earned the nickname baldylocks. My shoulder length hair was not a pixie cut and there was nothing I could do about it. My hair grows really slow so this was an extremely traumatic experience. The next time was three years later, I saw a more experienced stylist who was highly recommended and honestly she made me feel so uncomfortable. She was silent the entire time. No conversation, she tugged at my hair and I had a pounding headache by the time I left. It was terrible. The mani/pedi This was more of a cuticle push with polish. There was no trimming and the manicurist was just not pleasant. It was over priced for what I received. One time was more than enough. Why did I keep going back? No, I'm not a masochist, I just couldn't understand how a place that employed my beloved aesthetician could have some many employees who were just sub par. Alyssa was this salons best kept secret-- in a sense. She wasn't a secret, but it was a pleasant surprise to any one I referred. Even those who had visiting the salon before, but never seen her for a service. She was always so nice, happy and eager to make you happy and your skin beautiful. She able to my tame my unsightly super thick, but sparse brows and make them pretty. I referred so many friends and family members to her and every single one of them was pleased. I recently called to make one of four random appointments per year and earned that she recently moved to M Salon. I'm sorry, but she was the reason I kept coming back and tried other services. I must say that it is time bid Salon Nouveau adieu for services. They do, however, sell Bumble and Bumble products, so I may see them a time or two in the future. So, all I got there was mani/pedi. I thought for the price I paid, I was getting great service. The nails are not well polished and it took me forever to let my nails grow to the point of filing them square and the lady rounded them up. You can see clear faults on the polish and she took 2 hrs to get mani/pedi done. She talked a lot and talked with her hands, so she couldn't work and talk at the same time. Had a consultation with Susana and it was such a terrible experience. I understand that me wanting black to white hair is difficult, but she acted like I was such an inconvenience to her. She kept saying "I don't know" and not willing to even try to get my hair to look the way that I want it to. It was humiliating sitting in her chair and having her comb through my hair like it was a disgusting piece of trash. I am not concerned about the price and not concerned about how long the process would take and she continued to put a wall up and basically refused to do it for me. Immediately after, I made a consultation with another stylist in the area who actually was open and willing to work with me. Best of luck Susana with that terrible attitude!! For thick wavy hair or cuts that require precision attention to detail, Tracy is the best. I've done different versions of the "Betty Paige" arc bangs over the years and she has always taken the time to make sure they are -perfect- which is no easy feat. I also don't have easy hair to deal with...thick with a wave to it. Tracy always gives a beautiful cut. I've had a blow out once by her which she added a little bit of curl back in after and I have never seen my hair look better. She is a sure bet for a good hair cut on top of being just a fun person to talk to for an hour. I came in here for a facial. I have been getting black heads on my face and decided it was time to treat myself. I came in not knowing exactly what to expect. My facial was 45 minutes and it was so perfect. She also massaged my neck, shoulders, and face. It was really relaxing. Marcela was my aesthetician and she did an amazing job. Was going to give 2 stars but looked at my hair & now I'm mad again......I went in with the light lavender photo for reference & had, unfortunately, a short time frame for them to accommodate. They insisted that they could produce the image requested as well as work with my timeframe. When I went in at 3:15pm, Susana did my double highlights and color. I was given the light "lilac" color that was barely tinted & looked more pink than lavender. I finished the appointment around 8-8:30pm & was FUMING so instead of going home pissed & posting a bad review, I decided to go back in & ask the manager what the heck happened & if they could fix it & ended up in the salon until 10pm & walked out with the final, VERY DARK version of what I was promised. Again, they were so kind & they did "their best" to fix it but overall if you're doing crazy colors, DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!! That's a huge $270 down the drain for me to have to fix it in about 1-2 weeks. Even highlights/root touch ups are done half hearted. Always reference the negative ratings with the good so you're not blind sighted. read more

As a disclaimer, this is going to be slightly personal and uncomfortable for a second. But I feel I have to be, to share the appropriate reviewing information. After doing some research I decided to go to Salon De Nouveau for my first bikini wax. I finally had enough with the shaving and was taking the plunge. I called and was scheduled an appointment with Lisa. Lisa was wonderful on so many levels, where to begin. She showed me around the salon and introduced me to different staff members. Then we went into the treatment room where we had the initial consult. I had explained that this was my first time and I wasn't sure what to expect. She talked me through everything and explained the entire process. What she was going to do, what I was going to do, etc. She pointed out the wax they use and the fact that they do no double dipping in the wax. We also discussed what I wanted the end product to be, and what she recommended. All along the way she made sure to check with me to make sure she was doing what I wanted. And when was done she gave me great aftercare pointers. Overall the process went extremely well. I was so impressed with Lisa and the fact that she took the time to make me feel comfortable and explain everything. That is a big deal when going through such a personal process. I felt the prices were also extremely reasonable. I would not hesitate to recommend this place to anyone, especially those who have not been waxed before. Hate to do this. I had high hopes for this salon. It's on my way home from work and looks great inside and out. I asked for a trim - and color - the trim was the equivalent of a bang trim and yet I was charged full pop. The color was a nightmare - it was garish, harsh and one dimensional, not the subtle highlights discussed. Total bill - a few hundred dollars to look worse than when I walked in. I know they give new clients the new stylists and they often aren't the best but to charge me a senior stylist's rates and then not reduce the bill at all for the obvious disaster on my head was just classless. Honestly, I would have returned had they not charged for the trim or taken a few dollars off the color - I wanted to like this place. I'm new to town and I need a salon. And it's very nice inside - upscale, nicely decorated, relaxing. But now, I'd never go again. read more
