My father got me a gift certificate for a massage with Jessica, the therapist who he has been seeing regularly for the last 5 years to keep himself healthy and in good shape from lifting heavy patients at the hospital. After nearly six months of working 6 days a week/12 hour days, I was ready for some heavy duty massage therapy and Jessica was wonderful. She was able to break up a lot of the tension that I hold in between my shoulder blades and restore my range of motion in a MAJOR way. She also recommended some therapy wedges to help open up the muscles in my feet and decrease the pain from some nerve pressure. I cannot recommend her highly enough and only wish that I still lived in Tucson to see her regularly. I'm sure she would provide a lovely relaxing spa massage but she also has a real gift for assessing exactly where and why you have pain/tension and for making practical recommendations for home care to help. In addition, Breanne & Kelli at the front were really kind & friendly and it's nice to see how they care so much about their customers. I can't imagine another place where they know all about their customer's families. They knew all about me from conversations with my Dad even though I had never visited before--I'll be sure to stop back in next time I'm in town! read more

Love love love! My hair was destroyed from going to a school (should have figured). Made an appointment yesterday late afternoon and they fit me in right away for this late morning. I arrived at the salon and was greeted with a warm welcome. I signed in and waited not even 5 minutes for my guy to greet me and walk me to the station. The salon is clean and organized. A pretty trendy place, which being in my young 20's, I appreciated, however, there were women and men of many different ages in the salon. They have a special area for almost all services, and their rinsing station was pretty secluded, dark, quiet, and relaxing. When making a bridal appointment for a Saturday (the same day as prom), the employees were willing to come in early and help me and my girls get what we need done! Marco was a doll! He will be my go-to guy with no questions! He was nice, didn't talk to much or too little, and has amazing time management skills, yet, I didn't feel rushed at all!! I went in today for a hair appointment with Jayne. First time at this Gadabout and first time seeing her. It's very hectic and noisy at this location, which was not conducive for a relaxing time. I sat down at Jayne's station and showed her a picture of the cut I wanted, a simple bob with bangs. Jayne took my hair in her hands and said "You can't have that haircut. Your hair is too thick." I explained that I've had many, many, many bobs but she argued and argued with me. Then she said she could talk to a " master" stylist about it. Now, my hair is thick, and had been up in a pony all day so it was pretty frazzled, but bobs are a simple, universal cut, so I was utterly confounded that she couldn't do it. So she comes back and says the "master" stylist can do my hair in about 30 minutes. For $25.00 more. I'm wondering if this is a new tactic for $$$, or if Gadabout is taking such poorly trained stylists that they can't do basic haircuts and don't know how to do some thinning layers!? I went to gabby at the river location and she ruined my hair. I asked for blended roots and she made my roots orange and my hair so blonde it was white. I was disappointed she let me leave that day without fixing the mistake she had made but was happy someone else fixed it a couple days later for free. I recommend if you are going here for blonde hair not so see gabby as she ruined my hair and its still recovering from the bleached mess she made. read more

Basically, they mean well and everyone is pleasant enough, but it's factory-line model capitalism at its worst. I've been lucky enough to see the same person every visit but it's still hit or miss in terms of outcome. It always takes forever. Seriously, close to four hours for a cut and color. I just don't have four hours to kill getting my hair done. They rarely if ever listen. I mean, yeah you need to chat and forge a relationship with your clients, but not at the expense of actually listening to what your client is saying. Also, they have so many clients that they don't really retain any information about you. I also prefer not to chat about what movies I've seen when you should just be paying attention to what I'm saying to you about my hair. Don't hug me. Especially don't hug me when your pure intent is to make me forget that you just chopped my hair because you weren't listening to me. Also, don't have your friends shine me on with obviously fake compliments designed to make me feel better about the shitty haircut that I am clearly unhappy with. read more

This is a first and last for me. Staff was friendly but the shop was loud and not relaxing in any way. Hair cut is ok but it looks more like the stylists then the picture that we reviewed. I have curly hair and came home with frizzy straight hair Wanted a cut that would bring out the curl. The color with highlight leaves a lot to be desired. I am pretty easy to please but wanted highlights and not large blobs or bleached hair. For 180 dollars I am completely disappointed. I have had much better experiences for 1/2 the cost. read more

Worse experience ever!!, they ruined my hair by coloring it black, I was only there to tone my hair and take the orange Out from highlights I had done before them, I didn't say nothing in the salon cause it didn't look to bad but when I was in my car I can see it with the day light and it was horrible I stared crying because I had a special event to go to the next day, when they called me to see how my experience was 30 min later I told her I didn't like it and why but they were to busy to take me back the same day (obviously), I ended up going to Ulta salon for them to try and fix it a little, they ended up having to bleach my hair to take the permanent black with red they had done and my hair was still look bad because I have to lighten it by steps now, it's going to take me a long time to take that black out without damaging my hair and a lot of money when all they could have done was a toner, I even spoke to a lawyer about it because of the damage they cause me not only to my hair but also the trauma it causes mentally I got depressed because of it, us ladies know how sad it can be when it comes to our hair when they ruined it like that, the manager there is not very nice either she didn't want to give me my money back or anything, it doesn't matter anymore because my hair it's already ruined, but it's going to cost me a lot more to fix the damage, I only gave 1 star because the hair stylist was super nice, everything else was horrible starting with my hair and ending with the manager read more

I think for the amount you are paying for the services you should get exactly what you want. I did enjoy going to Gababout but after reading some negative comments I started to agree with them. I told my hair dresser exactly what I wanted along with photos . She said okay no problem. I thought everything was fine as I was at a high quality salon. The look I was going for was a bright red. Once it was blow dried I looked in the mirror in shock . My hair was a dark plum not the bright vibrant colour I was going for. She gave me compliments but this was not what I wanted. I told her I wasn't satisfied at all. They then went on to bleaching my hair I had a bad reaction and was in tears. The whole process after that to get my hair the right colour took around five hours . The main thing I was upset about is that they completely damaged my hair. I have had such bad breakage ever since because of their mistake. I have always had long hair and now I have to look into getting extensions , Im making for the mistakes this hair salon cost me. read more

HORRIBLE! COMPLETLEY HORRIBLE! I have NEVER EVER been so ready to leave a salon from the moment that I walked in, in my whole entire life. I was recommended Gadabout so I decided to try it out. The girls at the desk are very nice and in the beginning I was offered water and shown where to sit (standard). I then waited past my appointment time for my hair stylist. After 20 minutes or so (past the scheduled time) I was finally seated. I showed my hair stylist what color I wanted in which the stylist replied " no no no no! that will make you look so sick no no no" I think told the stylist that I understand and that I want to go dark so find a shade and go dark of which I go the " I have only been doing this for 20 years speech what do I know? I am just the head hair color person what do I know". This answer is completely juvenile and completely unprofessional, at a time where I kept insisting what color I wanted I was given attitude. I gave up, I decided well I don't know color so I will trust this person with my hair. While my stylist was off mixing the color another stylist came and was telling me how I shouldn't go dark and how bad it will look and how the stylist was telling her (talking about me) what color I wanted and how bad it will look. Second strike unprofessional! Got my color and wash and waited while my stylist was on another client ( I am fine with this it happens I understand). 20 minutes go bye.......30 minutes go bye... then I see my stylist run to the mirror fix their own hair comb and hairspray run out then come back in to fix it again grab keys and just leaves. LEAVES! I wait now 20 extra minutes. Another girl comes up to me and asks me and I tell her what has happened. I wait another 10 extra minutes and the stylist comes back "apologetic" and full of excuses. We then discuss how to cut my hair I say no layers and yet the stylist insists layers and even goes out of his way to show me another stylist with layers and how my hair currently looked like a "box". At this point I said do whatever I just want to get out of here. layers were put in. Basically I was there for over 2 hours, stylist completely vanished for 30 minutes, I got nothing that I wanted, and I was given attitude. Management THANK GOD gave me a discount but I WILL NEVER go back to any Gadabout salon in my whole life, you could not pay me to go back!!! I have been going to Gadabout for at least four years. While I loved the stylist that I used for the first couple of years, she was not available one time near Christmas, so I was able to book an appointment with Giancarlo. Wow. He is truly amazing with his style suggestions, coloring techniques, cuts and blow styling techniques! During my first appointment I mentioned that I was attending a Christmas business party that night and he offered and did my makeup at no charge. I received dozens of compliments that evening and he secured me as a loyal customer. Another time I had to make an appointment due to having chunks of my hair cut out when the police removed duct tape from my head after a violent assault. I was in a very shaky place and I confided in him about how the hair loss occurred and he comped me his services that day. Is he expensive? Yes. Does he deserve to be paid his higher rates? YES! YES! YES! I now know to make a future appointment after every appointment and I leave there feeling much more confident about myself each and every time. Also, I LOVE all of the staff! And I think that the level of service that you receive has a direct correlation to the attitude that you portray when dealing with any level of service providers. Everyone deserves a smile, graciousness and patience. When you treat others as you would like to be treated, it pays off with incredibly good service. I have been going to this gadabout location for the last six years to have Toni cut my hair. I have always been greeted at the front with a smile. I think the most I have ever waited was 5 minutes. Usually Toni is very prompt. I have short hair that is kind of difficult to cut and she has always done a nice job. I get it colored every 12 weeks and I always get compliments. They have what I think are hairdressers in training that wash the hair. Let me tell you that I wanted to tip them as well! They put a lot of care into the wash and do a mini message of the scalp. I look forward to it every time. My only complaint is that they are progressively getting more and more expensive with each passing year. I feel like they are starting to out price me. That is why I only get my hair highlighted every 12 weeks. I have thought about looking at other places that are cheaper but in the end, when you have found someone who can do the job, you suck it up and pay. You get what you pay for. I do recommend Toni ( I don't know about anyone else). My experiences have been positive. Just know you are going to have to dig deep in your wallet. read more
