The food and service both were excellent. High end flavors. My husband and I both enjoyed the starters and dinners.

Cool unexpectedly good place in Dwight. It's about the only thing that could be considered fine dining or close to it. Station 343 has a firefighter theme. Lots of fire and fire station decor. The theme carries over into the food with the heat and spiciness. After reading good things about it, we made sure to stop by. It's in the middle of downtown. There's not that many good places to go, so it's certainly no surprise the town's best restaurant is this. Prices were better than expected. We got some drinks and food. It had a few special drinks. We each got the Lemon Shake Up. It's $6, too much for a small glass. This was a good drink, made with vodka. As for the food, it's mostly meats. We got the one vegan thing, the 5 Alarm Cauliflower, which was some hot shit. It's $9 for a basket. The cauliflower was crispy and tossed in cayenne, cilantro, and lime. Sound the alarms. This shit will burn tongues. For sure it's the best place to eat around here. It's also worth checking out if you like firefighter stuff. The menu is mostly meaty options but the cauliflower is good for vegans and vegetarians. read more

Wow! We were on a trip from Fairbanks, Alaska to Wichita, Kansas and then home to Muskegon, Michigan. I only mention this because this was our favorite restaurant on the 4,400 mile drive. 11 days of restaurant meals and this was the best. We got there on a Friday night and were seated quickly by a very friendly hostess. The server was also super friendly and the food was absolutely delicious. I was also surprised by how affordable the place was. The firefighter decor is really cool! Great place!!! read more

My wife and our two little boys stopped here to get out of the car on our drive home from Springfield to Chicago and we needed something different than the usual fast food. I had been here a long time ago, pre children, and wanted to come back. Today! I am happy we decided to stop here. I wish I remembered our server's name, she was so nice and good at her job. She had some experience serving people and seemed to enjoy helping us. We appreciate that, having been in our car for over two hours driving with a toddler and a 5 year old. So much! The kids menu had about 8 great option for $4-$8, including Chicken Alfredo! I kind of wanted my kids to try that, lol. But they, ordered safely, the cheese burger with fries and chicken tenders with fries. They both were very good. My son told me it was better than Red Robin, which is his favorite for burgers apparently. My other son, liked the chicken tenders but drank water between bites, as they were a little spicy for him. But they were so good, he kept eating them. I really like homemade tenders and I would order them in a future visit if there weren't so many other fantastic options to choose from. My wife and I split a Handheld (sandwich) they called the Commissioner. It had tender moist and delicious burnt ends of of some beef brisket I would like to put my whole face in. There were 5-6 hunks of this fatty and fabulous beef that melted in my mouth. I wish we had not opted to share a meal because I struggled to be happy we shared one. I could have easily eaten the whole thing, though my manly figure is thanking me now for the discipline. Ha! The bun was excellent with this sandwich, I think a nice Italian white bread bun. There was some thick cut crunchy cabbage slaw soaked in a General Tso sauce and a couple tomatoes and homemade pickles. This sandwich is on my mind y'all!! Since my children ordered the fries, I asked for the garlic mashed potatoes as the side and they were perfect. Just the way I want them. Not overbearing, not too cheesy or too salty. Well balanced flavor and mouthfeel on these taters. I asked for an extra side of green beans too for $4 and they came out on a little cast iron skillet, made with butter. Yea!! This meal hit my glory spot. We had water with it, cuz traveling and why the extra calories anyway after all that. I loved the firehouse decor of this space. The dining room we were in had an old wooden floor and tables with comfortable seats and small and large tables spaced well throughout the room. Fire and firefighter related pictures, icons and props were spread out on the walls and in nooks throughout the space. It was thoughtfully decorated to honor the profession. There's a giant read fire door near the front separating the dining room from the bar area where they had the football game on without the sound, which I appreciated since we were able to watch it or interested in it from the other room. And there's a real antique fire truck inside (check out my photo of that)! Please make a point to stop here if you are traveling and support this local treasure. They tell you which farms the meat and veg they are serving comes from and it looks like the menu is updated somewhat regularly, so be open to the good changes that occur. You all in Dwight are blessed to have this place in your town. A gem! read more

Tonight I tried to give this place another chance and brought an out-of-town guest with me. We stood at the entrance for eight minutes. Two workers, the bartender and a waitress, looked at us and never said a word. There was no hostess to be found. We stood there until I got disgusted and left. It was sad that a place with such great ambience had such horrible service, and gave no attention to detail. No customer should stand for eight minutes at the door. It was not busy, and it was a Friday night. There were only 4 or 5 tables. Dwight is in need of another good restaurant for some variety. Never again. We eat out two or three times a week. We ended up going out of town. No doubt there are some good people here. Hopefully they can step things up. read more

It was the first time visiting. Overall food was ok, but wildly inconsistent. Our table of four got the Brussel sprout appetizer and that was good. Everyone enjoyed it. Our entrees, such a different story. Two people ordered burgers which were ok, but the sides came out wrong. Instead of fries, one came out with mashed potatoes which was wrong. Another person ordered tots, and got fries instead. When corrected tots as ordered came out, they were wildly over-salted compared to the other person who had tots. The worst offender though was the shrimp and grits which was almost salty to the point of inedible. Service was ok, but things were forgotten (a second beer ordered came at the same time as the check). I might go there again, but I will say it wouldn't be my first choice. While they had good items, the oversalted food and inconsistency with service overshadowed our experience. read more

Went there Saturday night for the first time. Food was very good. Several of us had chili which was excellent. Two had the AYCE fried shrimp which we really liked alot and had 3 helpings. The coleslaw was most unusual never had anything like it before it wasn't even close to your usual coleslaw but it was out of this world. Next time we go I will get it hands down. My husband got the ribeye and he was glad he did. He's not fond of ribeyes he's a porterhouse guy but they didn't have that cut so he settled for the ribeye and said it was really good and glad he got it. The rest of the table got the meatloaf and all said it was just ok. All in all we were glad we went and would definitely go again. The place is pretty cool with firemen/station memorabilia very unique and I loved how nicely spaced out the tables were not cramped like a lot of places. Our waitress's name was Lilly I believe and was an excellent waitress very helpful and patient with our table. We would recommend her to anyone. We will ask for her when we go back . read more

Take the drive to Dwight! Take in the history along U.S. 66 and stop by Station 343 Restaurant! This fire department themed restaurant has amazing food, a full bar, and wonderful staff. They have drink specials on Sunday mornings as well as a special breakfast menu. They often have live entertainment as well. Their banquet hall upstairs is a large beautiful space for a party, wedding etc. Stop by and give them a try! read more

It was our first time here. The food is delicious but the wait time to get your food is ridlxulous. We arrived at 6:30 and we got our meal at 7:55. We ordered a chicken sandwich and the burnt end sandwich. The waiter apologized for our wait and it was not his fault. We may or may not try again. I'd plan on a two hour meal. read more

We have been wanting to try this place for a while now and finally got the chance to go. The restaurant is gorgeous. A lot of attention to detail was paid to it. We sat in a cozy booth and arrived early for dinner. We started with drinks and appetizers. I had the 343 Bloody Mary and hubby had a beer. That was a wonderfully delicious Bloody Mary made with Bacon Bourbon and served with a piece of candied bacon, pickle and olive in the glass. I loved it!! (I loved it so much, I'm going to go buy a bottle of the bacon bourbon and try to make the drink at home.) We ordered potato skins for an appetizer. I wish we had ordered something else because we were having potatoes with our entree but hubby chose. They were very good. Next up was our salads. Wonderful. Best tasting salad I've had in a long time. Dinner was filet mignon, twice baked potatoes and broccoli. I had my filet served with blue cheese crust. The steak was perfectly cooked. The potato was good as was the broccoli. Our server was very attentive and sweet. They got busy fast there but I noticed that when one table left, the staff pitched in and readied it fast for the next patrons. Our total bill was around $105 with drinks. We finished up our meal and were done in a hour and a half. We will definitely return as it's a short drive to Dwight from our town and Dwight itself is such a charming town. read more

We visited with a group of six from Morris. What a phenomenal experience! We had the surf and turf and could not be more pleased! The steak was cooked to perfection and the crab legs were meaty and sweet! Also had the cheese and potato bomb. It was delicious and so flavorful! Warmed up this morning with eggs and we enjoyed our meal again! The rest of our party devoured their food as well. We also had excellent drinks, I had the "tramp" which was a specialty martini that was so good that I had to have another! The staff was wonderful-from Joy who greeted us and made our drinks to Murphy, our super sweet and very attentive server. WE WILL BE RETURNING!! read more

I'm never disappointed in my meal at Station 343, but sometimes I'm surprised at just how good it is! Had the pork chop last night - outstanding! Cooked perfectly and the topping on it was amazing! The first couple times we had dinner here, the food was tasty and well-cooked, and the service was friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, last week was not up to par. The salads and 5-alarm cauliflower are delicious. I love the shaved Brussel sprout salad and fried Brussel sprouts! The steaks are delectable - that's the only entree we've ever had here. The wine selection is decent, and last week the bottles were half-off and priced very reasonably. Last week was uncharacteristic of previous visits. The bartender was awful - very inexperienced and clearly never trained as a mixologist. The fried Brussel sprouts were burnt, dried-out, and unappealing, but even worse, the baked potatoes, were served cold with our nicely-cooked hot steaks. It was as if they just came out of the refrigerator. We'll come back and give them another chance in a few months. Hopefully they'll return to their previous level of 4-star quality. read more

The good: The food - the 8 ounce filet was very tender, and was seasoned lightly - I didn't have to add a thing. My wife's Shrimp Alexander was also very good. Eye candy - if you're into fire stuff, this place is full of it. They have old brass nozzles, an old semaphore station, a fireman's pole and guard, and tons of patches, helmets, coats, and other "fireman" bling. The bad: LOUD. VERY LOUD. My ears are still ringing. Service - S L O W. 15 minutes from being seated to taking a drink order. 15 minutes for a glass of wine to show up at the table. 40 minutes for a martini - they ran out of martini glasses (Nope, not kidding) and asked if they could serve it in a hiball glass or if she wanted to change her order. Food service - S L O W. Phone System: Broke - you dial in, after 3 rings it disconnects. They'll call you back. When they do, make a reservation if you want to get seated in less than an hour. We'd heard a lot of good things about this place, but just about everything that could go wrong went wrong, which is why it only gets 3 stars. How the heck do you run out of martini glasses on a Saturday night? Dishwasher on strike? The organization seemed overwealmed to us. Anyway, the food was good. If you go, get a reservation, and be ready to wait. read more

Came here on recommendation of a good friend. I would warn that all food ordered was salty. From the cream of broccoli soup to the specialty shrimp pasta to the fries. It got the point where I wanted to stop eating because my lips burned. :( Not sure if it's because it's in a small town or what but definitely over-salted all foods. We ordered meals for pick-up tonight using their new app and were very pleased and impressed. Our order was ready when promised, and staff were following safety guidelines. We ordered bruschetta, garlic bacon oysters, Big Blue Salad, and crab cakes. Everything was DELICIOUS! All were packed appropriately. Amazing seafood in the heart of the Midwest! This will definitely be the last time the four of us drive 20 miles to this restaurant. Sweet new server needed a more experienced wait staff to help him. Menu and wine list have been dramatically changed and reduced--when you finally were even offered the "wine list!" Had to ask for second drinks. The short ribs were unavailable. No offer of dessert menu. The men's steaks were both cooked incorrectly. Exceptionally poor and slow service. There was live entertainment, one guy on guitar with some kind of track, who was disgustingly loud and off key. The entertainment was more appropriate for a bar scene, certainly not dinner music. The owner's wife asked us if we were celebrating an occasion. She was told the couple we were with have been married 53 years. No offer was made to honor the occasion. WHY did she even ask? Misses the mark. The food disappoints. There is not a true fine dining establishment within a 50 mile radius of this location. This restaurant wants fill that role. Some of the components are there; exposed brick walls and support beams, quality cutlery, entrees over $20. Unfortunately, the food completely falls flat, and the service leaves much to be desired. Wine: Management clearly has little wine knowledge and gives the staff no wine training whatsoever. Our server recommended a dessert wine for us to have with our meal and did not know how to use a wine key. The wine we ordered was misspelled on the menu. Appetizers: Seafood bisque was watery and appeared to be out of a box. Chili was very average. Both were served dangerously hot. Entrees: Rib and shrimp alexander special. Garlic shrimp sauce was tasty, the shrimp itself was bland and the breading was not crispy and fell apart. The ribs were very tender but almost completely lacking in any flavor. The 2 pieces of broccoli with my veggies were fantastic. We were told the pot roast was a house favorite. It was bland and completely lacking anything that appeared to explain why this dish would be a favorite. Dessert: We ordered the apple crisp. We stopped eating when we noticed it was sitting in a large pool of oil. Small details: I had to keep hearing the phone ring, fine dining establishments generally do not give customers paper napkins, the paper bill was simply placed naked on our table without being placed inside of anything, faucet in the restroom is about a foot above the sink causing water so splash all over the counter and yourself. Definitely not worth the $65 bill for a party of two. I would love to see a good quality restaurant in this area. I would recommend that the owners hire an executive chef to revamp the menu, consult with a sommelier, and throw out their microwaves. read more

This is a really nice place with a lot of atmosphere! We happened to be driving through Dwight today, right around dinner time, and good old yelp led us here. Great food (even the simple green salad that came with my entree was perfectly done), great service (personable and attentive), and lots of fun stuff to look at (vintage fire trucks and just the beautiful old renovated building). I loved my experience at Station 343. My bartender, Michael, was fantastic. Prompt service, very friendly and knowledgable about the menu. I had the 8oz filet with house vegetable and garlic mash as sides. My dinner came with a small salad, on which, I had the hot bacon dressing. Everything was delicious. The decor is fun and interesting, with a firehouse theme. I was surprised to learn they have been open two years, as the place was spotless! My only grievance, was the napkin. While very large, it is very stiff paper. I would prefer a cloth napkin for this fine establishment. read more
