My A/C was making gurgling noises and the drain pipe had not been draining properly. So I called Otter to have someone inspect what was going on. Before Vlad, from Otter, arrived I had spoken with a different HVAC company who said I would need to replace the coil and condenser... the other company said that would cost close to $9,500. Whoa! So I looked up some other possible solutions. I tried cleaning the drain pipe and low and behold the A/C stopped making the gurgling sound and began dripping out the pvc drain pipe. I completed the fix just as Vlad was arriving. He confirmed that was likely the issue and did not suggest that I replace the coil and condenser. We cannot say enough good things about Otter HVAC! They came through for us during an emergency situation when my elderly in-laws' Carrier Infinity HVAC system suddenly stopped heating their home. We were worried given their age, health (cancer chemo) and the cold weather, but Otter HVAC responded immediately and treated the situation with real urgency and care. From the moment we called, their communication was clear, prompt, and reassuring. Ali arrived quickly the next morning, diagnosed the issue with the Carrier Infinity system right away (clogged filter caused the Carrier system to auto shutdown), and had the heat restored before things became unsafe. They were incredibly professional, knowledgeable, and patient in explaining what went wrong and what we should keep an eye on going forward. Ali even showed me where to find the Carrier error codes on the inside the furnace panel door.
