I went there this afternoon to add holes to my five Ferragamo belts -- nine holes total. The employee who first helped me was polite and professional, and I was told the job would take about 10-15 minutes, so I decided to stay in the shop and wait. My mistake was not asking for the price upfront because, honestly, I never imagined that adding a few simple holes to belts would turn into one of the most ridiculous service experiences I've had in a long time. A little later, another man walked in, probably the owner. The atmosphere immediately changed. When the work was finished and I asked how much I owed, he casually said "$70." For a second, I genuinely thought I misunderstood him. Seventy dollars for nine holes in leather belts that took less than five minutes total. When I questioned the price, he started giving me explanations about how the belts are expensive, designer items and therefore they have to charge more "in case something goes wrong" and they would supposedly need to replace them. He repeatedly emphasized "$8 per hole," as if this was some highly specialized luxury procedure rather than simply punching a tiny hole through leather. What made the explanation even harder to take seriously is that the work itself was extremely basic. No restoration, no stitching, no custom resizing, no craftsmanship involved beyond a quick hole punch. I literally didn't even finish my chess game while waiting. The entire thing was done almost immediately. I completely understand businesses charging fair prices for skilled labor and quality work. That's not the issue here. The issue is feeling like the price was made up on the spot the moment they realized the belts were Ferragamo. Whether they charge $2 or $14 per hole changes absolutely nothing about the so-called "risk" they were talking about. The whole interaction left a very unpleasant impression. Instead of transparency and straightforward pricing, it felt opportunistic and unnecessarily greedy. Had they simply told me the cost beforehand, I would have walked out immediately and gone elsewhere. I paid because the work was already completed and I didn't want to argue any further, but charging $70 for something this simple is absurd. This experience makes me reconsider every 1 star review I've ever left. The shoe "expert" took my shoe, TORE IT while inspecting it, and refused to take accountability. We eventually came to an agreement on what work would be done on the shoes. The next day the store owner called me and yelled many profanities and going on an incoherent tirade. I've taken belts in for shortening. Last time, I even asked them to change the color of my brown leather boots to black - and wow, what a clean job, and for a reasonable price. PURCHASE Shoe Repair & Shine ($40.00): My favorite pair of simple black dress shoes made by J. Crew costed me under $100, but over the years they needed some TLC, and I had a very important event coming up. The biannual regluing of the soles and buffed-and-polished treatment had these babies looking almost brand new; even the creases seemed to have been ironed-out and more smooth! I couldn't exactly see my mug in the shine of the shoes, but they had a gleam about them. Update review: these guys have done it again. those ferragamo loafers i took photographs of over 4 years ago are still in great shape, because of Galleria Shoe Care. I just recently took about 7 pairs out of my closet and to this spot and got them all back in brand new condition. You can see that very same pair in the front row. almost 10 year old shoe just keeps getting revived by these guys! I dont know if its the excellent craftsmanship of Ferragamo, or these guys really know what they are doing! My other pairs also needed some repair as they were scratched, and a nice cleaning and they killed it this time. Everything looks original and like it never happened. Quick and friendly service! I accidentally scratched my designer bag and was devastated. I went back to the store I bought it from for help, but they were unable to do so and recommended I check out a shoe repair shop. Galleria Shoe Care was located in the same mall, so I went in and asked if they are able to fix the scratch. The owner was honest and told me that he can't fix it 100%, but he can do a quick paint job / touch-up to mask the damage. Turnaround time was one week - he told me to come back the following Saturday, any time, to pick up. On the day of, he grabbed my bag and showed me the excellent job he did to repair it!! This place is great. My 6 year old Thursday boots started to lose their waterproofing and the heel start cracking last winter. I brought them here and they took care of it all. They even had option to make my boots lighter, but I wanted to keep them as close to original as possible. The results were great not only are they fixed, they look brand new again. This is my update regarding my shoes.... After my horrible experience, writing my tragic review, and crying and being depressed about the fact that I hate my brand new $1200 valentino shoes, I just decided to forget about the experience. For those who voice their support, I thank you and the women who shared their anger with me, I love you! About a week later, on Wednesday, I got a voicemail and a text message from the owner, Harry. Basically he apologized for my experience, and wasn't around because he went on a vacation with his family. He offered to pick up and drop off my shoes, due to my busy schedule, and fix my shoes. I agreed to take him up on his offer, and he came yesterday morning to pick up my heels. He even asked about my husbands shoes, and I told him that he fixed the laces himself by watching youtube videos. (Gotta love YouTube) He literally drove to my office in downtown Los Angeles, picked up my shoes, and was going to change the bottoms to the correct color. This morning (in one day) Harry dropped off my shoes with nude bottoms, and left a card where I can get a free sole replacement for another heel. For an owner to actually care about his business is one thing, for an owner to drive out of his way and make time to fix the error of an employee is another. I don't hate my shoes anymore, and feel like this giant weight has been lifted off me. I had such a horrible week from work, and this just put a smile to my face. I was so greatful, and just amazed at how Harry went above and beyond. I was so beyond grateful that I even bought him coffee on the way out. I had forgotten about this experience (probably due to how awful it was) until I had to find a new shoe care spot today. I guess it's cue to write this review and prevent others from having this experience. I had been a long time customer of this place. Over the years I've trusted them with no less than $20k worth of shoes, between cleanings, protective soles, and heel repairs. It's not cheap to get the protective soles done ($45 on average) but it's worth every penny on a pair of $1000 shoes. Ever since they moved across the hall to their new location, management has been downhill. This last time I went in with two pairs of shoes, was told it would be $90, paid for it, and kept my receipt just in case. Then I come back to pick it up, and the lady had crossed out the $90 and wrote $115 on their portion of the receipt, and told me they had misquoted the price. At this point they had my shoes and refused to give them back to me because the "work was already done". When I showed her my receipt and the "paid" stamp, she shrugged and said "that was the wrong price". Seriously? You're essentially holding my Louboutins hostage at this point. You had my phone number, you could have called any time and let me know of the price change before doing the work. To add insult to my injury, my two pairs of shoes were thrown together (???) in a plastic bag with no protection between them. Never mind one of them is a white pair of channels. The lady practically threw them on the counter. At that point I gave her $25 in cash, took my shoes, and left. Learn from my experience. Don't come here. TL;DR: shady and greedy business holding customer's personal properties hostage to make a few more bucks. read more

I am in complete shock I took my shoes here to get repaired and I told the guy to fix the stitch. When I came to pick it up not only was the color of the stitching a completely different color but it was completely crooked. When I told the guy that it was a different color he said that's the color they use and I said you didn't have navy and he said that is our navy. If you don't have the right matching color or if you can't do it than there's no shame to say it. I would rather you tell me I don't have it or I can't do it than you butcher my shoes. They had a lot of scuff marks and the midsole was discoloring a bit. Harry worked his magic and the shoes look new again. There are no scuffs at all and the midsole is one color again. The first gentleman who took my service order was very professional and nice. I was having my dog's leather collar repaired. The work was excellent, however the gentleman who was there when I went to pick it up was not as helpful. He couldn't seem to find the repaired collar by my claim ticket. He asked if I was picking up a purse and when I said it was a dog collar, he looked at me like I was crazy and asked me again if it was a purse. So I don't think he understood English very well. Finally after looking in a couple different places, he found it. So they don't seem to have a very organized system. It should've been a simple 5 minute pickup because I had paid in advance, but instead it was a bit frustrating waiting 20 minutes. The cost was $30.00 which seems a bit expensive, but I don't have a comparable shop to know for sure. read more

I wanted to add additional holes to my belt and was told it's $25 for each hole and would take one month since it was a designer belt. Galleria Shoe Care charged me $5 for each hole and did the job on the spot which was great. Only issue was that I had a hard time finding the store because I was told it's behind JC Penny and couldn't really figure out how to go there. I have to say I'm extremely disappointed in this place. I brought in a pair of tan leather mules by Madewell to Get the leather polished and treated. She said no problem and then she said do you want to replace the heels. I said okay though they didn't really need it as much as just leather cleaning and polish. The woman was arguing with another dissatisfied customer when I got there. I should've listened to my instinct. This place had good reviews so I'm feeling reluctant to even complain. I went and just picked up my shoes. I feel so dissatisfied, but not only in the fact that she didn't polish them... she didn't tell me they don't have the right color. Then she up sells me on replacing the heels. So I paid $22 for a repair that was half done. And it was the part I didn't even need. Also the gentleman who helped me today didn't do anything to resolve my complaint. A discount would of been appreciated.
