Best shoe repair! A year ago I took my Maison Margiela tabi ballet flats here to have a protective sole added. They did them so quickly and finished them before Christmas! I was so thankful. I also got the same shoes cleaned a few days ago, as well as a second-hand pair of Manolo Bloniks to have the heels fixed and add a protective sole. They once again did an amazing job! I had a terrible experience at this store. They gave me a price upfront ($30) and they increased the price to $35 without any explanation. On top of that, one part of my sneakers had a pink spot after their cleaning. Also, they didn't clean insole/ footbed of my sneakers saying because that was a separate service which they should have mentioned when I dropped off my shoes. When I pointed out those 3 issues very nicely and calmly, instead of trying to help or fix the problem, the guy at the counter yelled at me and didn't want to hear me out. I found a beautiful pair of penny loafers at Goodwill, but the soles were torn up and the heels worn out. I brought them here (since it is close to my work) to get a half-resole. When they were finished, my jaw dropped--they were like totally new shoes. The quality on the resole was excellent, and the uppers were cleaned and dressed up as well! I was not expecting that. I've come here twice to have my tall boots altered. I have very small calves and this place always does an excellent job. I'm super picky about quality. My profession is in quality management for products. So I notice every flaw in everything. This man's experience is impressive. I would have never guessed my boots were altered. I had 2" in the width removed and the boots look like they were bought that way. My boots were also a bit of a challenge. They did not have side zippers. They were pull on suede boots. So he had to really go in there like a surgeon to remove the excess and then stitch it back to the way it was. You could never tell they were altered. Very beautiful workmanship. The lady at the counter took the time to show me that all I had to do was tighten the buckle in the front of the shoe and the back straps tightened right up. When my local shoe repair spot went out of business, I was at a loss. It's really hard when a local business you've depended on for years disappears without a trace. Yelp to the rescue. I found Pacific Shoe Repair nearby and based on Katie B's review, decided to give them a try. Good thing, cause they're even better than my old shoe repair shop. I first tested them out on an old handbag to which I was sentimentally attached. They did a fabulous job restoring a well-worn and much abused leather designer handbag that had carried me through my child-raising years. (Fellow moms, you know what I mean by "handbag abuse.") They've also restored the heels on my boots with excellent results. I would trust them with any type of leather or shoe repair whatsoever. If you're in the Glendale, Montrose or Burbank area, this is the place to go. Service is prompt at the moment (two days turnaround during pandemic times.) Truly exceeded all expectations! I brought in two pairs of leather boots that needed to be stretched (I have wide calves). They told me that they couldn't be stretched because each had elastic components. However, they came up with a plan to sew in strips of matching fabric along the zippers to widen them. I didn't know what to expect, but trusted in their experience, and I'm glad I did! I am truly astonished by the quality of craftsmanship in seamlessly integrating the strips of fabric into each boot.
