I dont know if thats the norm or what but it seemed high to me because for another $20-$25 i could probably buy a brand spanken new pair. So i passed. the first time i stopped by this store was when i was walking through the mall to urban outfitters. as i was walking through i noticed the guy sitting in there seem pretty bored so i stopped by and asked him how much it would cost to shorten my LV bag i had on me. The guy said $3 to punch extra holes as many as i want. He was done in a matter of seconds! as i was waiting for him to do it, i noticed he had several celebrity autographs hanging on the wall, so i'm guessing he does pretty good work? i mean ive never been keen on repair/alteration stores in the mall. So I decided to give him a try. About week later, i went back with 4 pairs of boots & heels to repair and my miu miu bag to shorten. I am amaze by his workmanship! I had a beloved pair of shoes and, tragically, the straps on each broke. So I hauled them into Heel to Toe and discovered they could fix them in only a few days for a reasonable price! However, they were kind of crappy shoes (poor quality, high compliment factor though - I looked HOT in those shoes) so I realized I could buy the shoes for five dollars more than the repairs cost. That said, for a good pair of shoes that needed work done, replacing straps for only $35 would have been a killer deal! read more

Update: After my first experience I decided to go back to repair the torn lining on two of my purses. This time it was a circus. I made the mistake of paying up front, for real, don't do it. It was the same song and dance as the first time as far as the pick up day. I came on the day he said and it was just his store-watcher employee that handed me my bags to take home. When I looked at them though, nothing had been done. I gave them back and he said, "Oh yes they need more time to finish" come back in two days. So I did and I found both bags had the lining just glued (not sewn which was what I paid extra for) on, the glue had seeped out of the lining and gotten on the leather. Again it was the store watcher and slightly exasperatedly took my bags and started rubbing them with acetone I guess? Paint thinner? I have no idea. It smelled like death though and has never gone away. He handed the bags back to me and I told him again that they were supposed to be sewn. He then told me to come back the day after tomorrow, and when I did he turned me away saying the guy was gone for vacation! Uggghhh. I'm in awe of how unprofessional this whole thing had become. I then got a call from him a week later saying that he went above and beyond fixing more lining tears (there weren't any, its a purse not a cave guys, I know what needs fixing) and that I should thank him for not sewing them because it would look bad (he didn't think so when I first came in and was paying additional money for sewing it back in). But that he should be able to keep the extra money because he fixed extra things *eye roll*. I didn't even care at that point I just wanted my bags back so I could do damage control. Of course he wasn't there again when I picked up my bags and I just grabbed them and turned right out the door just happy that I never had to come back! Seriously guys, I'd avoid this place. I've never been to a shoe/leather repair store before except for a quick $3 strap repair on a purse of mine back home in KY so I don't have much to compare this store to but overall my experience was pretty good. I can understand previous reviewers comments about the man being "grumpy" but my husband, who was with me for the drop off and works with Armenian families, told me that the men tend to be more direct and to the point and that it is not meant as any sort of disrespect, just the way they are. So for whatever thats worth? On to the service, I dropped off a $300 leather bag I had purchased back in KY because it reminded me of saddle leather. Really beautiful and well made, that being said after years of use a connection in the front design (pic attached) had come off and the left two metal pieces I literally had secured with a zip tie lol. There was also discoloration from scratching and improper storage that had taken off the top layer of stain and just looked rough. He quoted me $63 to fix the scratched areas and the design. Given that he had to order a specialized piece of leather and color match it to the dark brown with burnt edges + hardware I'm guessing that's a good price? I also brought in a leather strappy heel that had one of the strap connections break off, he fixed this for $7. He told me to come back on Sunday to pick up, it was Monday when I came by for it and he said that he thought he told me Wednesday and he didn't have it ready as the leather he ordered only got in on Sunday. No problem, got a call from him this morning saying it was ready for pick up and IMO it looks pretty darn good. He fixed and matched the center design and the leather looked good as new. So to sum it up $72 incl. tax for a handbag and pair of shoes brought back to life. read more

If I could give this place negative stars I would." I brought my fairly new pair of cowgirl boots to this place because one of the nails in the heel was beginning to stick out. What should've been a simple repair ruined my shoe. There was a woman who was dropping off her shoes when I arrived and the guy behind the counter was talking about quality shoe repairs and how they do a better job than most other places. BULL! When I went to pick up my shoe it looked like they didn't touch it except for the fact that the nail that was sticking out didn't stick out anymore. Everything seemed fine until I got it home. The heel on the shoe is cracked. BROKEN! They broke it! They didn't bother to do an actual repair on the shoe. They did a half ass job because they didn't want to put in the work to actually take off the heel and replace all the nails in the heel. They should've told me that they needed more time to do the job properly. Now I have a boot with a broken heel. I can wear the shoe but now the shoe is going to have a really short lifespan. Too bad this place is in a really convenient location and they seem like really nice people. Use their service at your own risk. read more

I came here several years ago to get boot heels replaced and was decently satisfied for the price. The customer service wasn't great but I was also not a huge fan of the repair -- he did a heel and partial sole replacement which cut off halfway down the sole and looked really shoddy, but the boots weren't that expensive in the first place so I let it go. I just brought in two more pairs of boots and was quoted more than the boots were worth to fix just the heels. It'd be no skin off my back because I'll just find another place BUT when he was checking out the heels, he pulled one clean off and when I decided not to take his offer, he didn't even offer to glue it back on. I'm not saying they weren't in disrepair but they were still wearable, he DID pull it off and DIDN'T offer to do anything about it. That's pretty bad form. I was going to get a quote somewhere else and return if his was better; now I won't be returning for sure. It's not his business to pull apart my belongings and just hand the pieces back to me like nothing happened. Really disappointed. read more

Buyer beware: there is no guarantee that repairs will last. I had a strap reattached to the base of my favorite pair of shoes. Along with a new sole, it ended up costing about $70. The strap came undone again yesterday (in the same spot). Luckily the other side was still attached so my shoe stayed on. We took the shoe back because it hasn't been that long since we got it repaired. They denied doing work on that part of the shoe, couldn't produce any record of what they HAD done, and tried to charge us more money for this new repair. At least they fixed the new insole that peeled up after a month of it being there. But seriously if you don't want an argument or to have your shoes be just as broken after a couple wears, do not trust these people!! Very disappointed in their service. read more

I wasn't sure they could do it, but I figured no one else could, so gave them a try. I got them back and they look brand new!! Beautiful! I also took my Michael Kors purse to them because a strap broke. It's my favorite purse so I didn't want to throw it away. They fixed it and you can't tell which strap was broken to begin with. I've taken my shoes and handbags to numerous shoe repairs in the Glendale/Burbank area, but have been disappointed every time. Last week, however, I took 3 pairs of shoes and a handbag for repair, and was amazed by the friendly staff, quick service, and low prices. They even suggested putting soles on my Louboutins, which I thought was a great idea! The soles keep the red from fading!!! I took my daughter's shoes to be repaired, but the new insole peeled up a few weeks later and the 'repaired' strap broke again in the same spot. The man behind the counter started yelling at me and he called me a liar and said it must have been another strap that broke. Nope. Just a poor repair job. I have been coming for years to this place because I am too lazy to shine my shoes and it's conveniently close to my office, and they try their best to get everything right. But then I had them repair a couple of pairs of shoes last month. The guy said they would be ready on Friday and they weren't so I wasted a trip over there but he said they would be ready on Saturday and they were open till 8 . So I drove out there on a Saturday at 6pm and they were already closed. Now I've wasted two trips over there and I go on Yelp ready to write a bad review and to read what others had to say. And yes, a lot is true. The proprietor can be a bit gruff, it does feel like he's just making up the prices out of thin air, etc. Then I came back Monday and there was another older gentleman there so I griped about having to come in on Saturday and it was closed. That man apologized. I dropped off another pair of shoes to get shined and came back the next day where the proprietor immediately remembered who I was and profusely apologized for closing early on Saturday and told me he had to take a family member to the hospital. So I give them good marks for the apology and for attitude that they really strive to get any repair and shine right for the customer. read more
