    Chicken sandwich
    Phil W.

Sometimes it pays to be the first customer in the door.. Not our usually dining area but we needed to get out and try something new. We walked in to Gallo and were the only people there, I see reviews of people getting "poor service but that's definitely not what we experienced. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming into this quaint establishment. Sadly we were informed that the pizza oven was still getting ready so pizza was off the menu for us. That was almost a dealbreaker, but we found some other options on the menu to enjoy. The little yelper chose her usual chicken and fries, she had a healthy helping of them (they are definitely bagged nuggets as the pics show). The misses got a chicken and greens sandwich , while it was good, she said that the sandwich definitely would have benefited from being made with grilled chicken instead of fried. Naturally, me being a non-pasta person this was not my best day. I went with the old failsafe chicken wings. Garlic Parm, while the sauce was really good, I was a little disappointed by the size of them and little cup of Ken's bleu cheese. But points for presentation. There was a late delivery to the table, of sliced dough, which was quite good. I'm guessing the oven was just getting right almost close to temperature as we progressed through our meal. There were some really good looking pizzas here on yelp and while we were disappointed that we couldn't get a pizza today, we definitely plan to come back and give that a try.

Greeted by annoyed staff.... Saturday night check out this location on Google maps showing that they are open till 10 PM. Got excited to try it out and we got there at 9:20 just to find the place closing down the heavy waitress at the bar immediately shouted that they're closed. I pointed out that it says O'clock and she didn't even responded she pretty much turned her back on us extremely annoyed by the comment. Am I going back to try it out when they're open ....absolutely not. Also, judging by the other reviews, I'm getting a sense this place will not impress .

Best place in Lewiston for food! Staff is so friendly and food is delicious. It's very clean and has an awesome outside area. Couldn't recommend it more!

    White Gallo

Stopped in for a late lunch on Sunday and decided on two pizzas to share amongst three of us. We had the Amatriciana and the White Gallo. Both were very good - the crust is thin and airy and light, but they certainly did not skimp on the cheese. Plenty of fresh mozzarella and sun dried tomatoes on the White Gallo, but barely any red onion. I preferred the salty sweet combination of the pancetta and caramelized onions on the Amatriciana, but both pizzas were really good and plenty of food for 4 people. Service was attentive, friendly, and kept our water pitcher full with cold water. Nice ambiance outside - inside seemed a bit sterile.

Everything of very good quality, great pizza! Carbonara was a tad dry, needed some more pasta water to get that crème consistency

    Pizza bungee-corded to my bike
    Ivy Y.

Stopped by today with a girlfriend to grab some pizza. We bungee-corded it to the passenger seat on my bike. We arrived at 2:55pm. They didn't open until 3pm. We waited at a table outside. When they opened right at 3pm the server came out and took our order. She brought out the check 5 minutes later and took our payment. The pizza came out about 15 minutes after that and we were in our way over to Academy Park to eat it. It was good! The price was right $19andchange. Was my second time here, my friend's first. She was impressed. I told her she would be. I'll definitely be back.

    Yummy Margarita Pizza for takeout

Got pickup here after doing a walk of the Niagara Gorge trail during the COVID-19 quarantine. I placed the order on the phone - pickup can be done curbside by giving your credit card over the phone or you can come inside (the person handling the card/food is wearing gloves). Inside, there is also some pasta as well as sauces you can purchase. During the COVID-19 quarantine, cocktails are for sale for $7 and house wine as little as $2 per glass to-go. Food-wise, I got a delicious Margharita pizza, which had the perfect crust and sauce/cheese ratio. The garlic parm wings were amazing. I also got the eggplant gallo as an appetizer - it was tasty, but a bit small so I'd likely skip it next time as a takeout item. Highly recommend for delicious coal-fired pizza/wings. The gnocchi is house made, so be sure to consider it!

    Sicilian chicken wings

My wife and I came by with another couple shortly after they opened on Saturday afternoon. It has a very bright interior and you can see the coal fire in the oven throughout the restaurant. We ordered the Sicilian chicken wings and eggplant gallo as appetizers to share. The wings were roasted in the coal fire oven and came out very crispy. They were also topped with roasted onions. I enjoyed these very much. Eggplant Gallo has thin slices of sauteed eggplant layered with tomatoes and Romano cheese. This was an excellent and tasty appetizer. I had the garlic vinegar chicken as my main course. This has chicken with garlic, peppers, onions, potatoes and Italian sausage in a red wine vinegar chicken stock sauce. I am a person who likes vinegar a lot but this dish had everything literally swimming in it. All in all, I would definitely come by again to try a few other menu items.

    Margherita Pizza. Delicious!

Everything was delicious! I went in for dinner because I bought a house in Lewiston and my real estate agent gave me some gift cards. My wife and in-laws were with me. We split some appetizers and a pizza and thought it was all delicious. The fried calamari was really good and very generous sized. We also ordered a dip that was tasty. The pizza was very good. Fresh sauce fresh cheese everything was good. The staff was super friendly too.

I thoroughly enjoyed it, and everything was really good. Located right on the corner going down Lundy's Lane, the place looks very simple from the outside, but once you walk through the doors you realize you are in for an elegant dining experience. Started out with a orange Pellegrino which was wonderful, they brought out some bread and this amazing honey and ricotta cheese spread. Absolutely to die for but be careful. It would be easy to fill up on that and miss out on the wonders of the meal that's coming. I started the meal off with their Caesar salad which was absolutely perfect. The right amount of dressing lettuce was second to none and it was one of the most delicious Caesars I've had. I opted for the gnocchi oso buco ragu, which was absolute perfection. Be careful though, these gnocchi are no joke. The taste will keep you eating all of them and you will absolutely be ready to take a nap afterwards. Bottom line? If you are looking for fine dining in the Niagara falls area, you would be doing yourself a disservice not going to this restaurant. It's absolutely wonderful and I highly recommend it!

Beautiful, beautiful restaurant with great atmosphere, soft music, amazing service by Juan our waiter. We started with Caesar salad and the bruschetta appetizers - Boyfriend's salad was very good. I liked the capers and strong hint of anchovies in the dressing (which he always has on the side). Bruschetta was not what I expected - I felt it was missing something, not much flavor - although the bread was super fresh and tomatoes perfectly ripe. As mains he had the Americana pizza (pepperoni) and I had the lamb, served with a citrusy risotto and rapini. I loved the lamb! Highly recommend. It was literally so tender that I didn't need the knife to cut it! We asked Juan how the cook made it that way - he wouldn't tell and said it was the kitchen's secret! It was delicious. Risotto was perfect too. I'm not a fan of rapini but it was well cooked and seasoned. Boyfriend regretted his choice a little, although he says his pizza was good - but after tasting my lamb, he was sorry he didn't choose a meat dish. I had a shot of Amaretto on ice and the cannolis for dessert. Delicious and obviously homemade. I was a bit put off that a bus boy pulled out our appetizer plates while we were still actively eating. Hint, if our forks are in our hand and we're bringing them to our mouth with food on it, we're not done yet :/ Not the first place this happens and a pet peeve of mine... but whatever. Also, the couple with 5 kids... 5 kids omg... maybe this wasn't the best restaurant choice for you if you are going to let the two small ones run wild around the dining room and almost hit a waiter with a tray of drinks... but this isn't the restaurant's fault. We will return! Worth it just for the amazing lamb, and a short 5 minute walk from the Doubletree hotel, if you are staying there!

Unfortunately, this turned out to be one of the most disappointing restaurant experiences I've ever had. The restaurant describes itself as a "rustic Italian eatery." Rustic can be charming, but in this case it felt more outdated than authentic. The dining room was very dark, and although I'd reserved an early table because the only available reservation times were 5:00 or 7:45, we arrived to find many empty tables. I never judge a restaurant by its décor alone. Some of the best Italian meals I've had have come from the most unassuming little places. Sadly, the food here never lived up to the promise. We were served two small slices of baguette that were so dry and stale they crumbled apart with the slightest touch. I honestly thought the crumbs on top were grated cheese at first. For an appetizer, we ordered the Panelle because neither of us had ever tried them before. The chickpea fritters were topped with a dollop of ricotta, a drizzle of honey, and what amounted to a single strand of lemon zest. Unfortunately, they were extremely bland and left neither of us wanting to order them again. Our entrées were close to $30 each. I ordered the Eggplant Parmigiana, and my friend had the Chicken Scaloppine. The eggplant was heartbreaking. There were only two layers, and they had broken down into a mushy texture that barely resembled eggplant. Had the skin not still been attached, I honestly wouldn't have known what I was eating. It came with a side of spaghetti that was dramatically overcooked, and the tomato sauce tasted flat and one-dimensional. As someone who is 100% Sicilian and has enjoyed Italian cooking my entire life, I found the sauce particularly disappointing. I couldn't finish it. My friend's Chicken Scaloppine looked attractive on the plate, and the chicken itself was tender, but the dish had almost no flavor. By the time dinner was over, our bill exceeded $110 before the concert had even begun. We left feeling disappointed that what should have been the highlight of our evening became its biggest letdown. Lewiston itself is absolutely charming, and it's easy to see why people travel from both the U.S. and Canada to visit this beautiful town. I only wish our dinner had matched the setting. Based on our experience, I can't recommend this restaurant. There are too many wonderful Italian restaurants in Western New York to spend your money here.

Granted, the restaurant is in the middle of the desolate town of Niagara Falls, NY (and I mean there's nothing around), but once you step into the restaurant, you know why they're still standing after 4 generations. It's like walking onto a set of Goodfellas so I knew right away that I wasn't going to be disappointed. Danielle, our server, is the granddaughter of the original owners. I believe her brother is the chef and they continue their grandparents legacy to this day. We ordered a caprese salad to start. Gnocchi with meatballs and Eggplant parm were the entrees both served with a simple (what I call Sunday) sauce. The food was impeccable!!! What I loved is that it was clean and fresh tasting. The eggplant was not overly breaded and fried - it was stacked like layers of lasagna. The gnocchi were perfect little potato pillows! Bravo to the family!! Your grandparents would be so proud!
