Walked by us 3 times without acknowledgment. Waited for another 3-4 mins. She came back to the neighboring table, took their drink order and walked away. We watched as each time she walked away she went to hang out by the last table by the bathrooms with the other 3 waitresses. Not one other person acknowledged us. Was told 40 mins for my take out Was told on a Friday they just changed fry oil and it will be 10-15 more. Waiting. Waiting. Waiting. Cornered the host. Asked if he went to the river to catch it. Went to the kitchen to check and didn't come out for 15 mins then tried to sneak past me. Manager said we don't do take out on Friday. All while I had already paid!!! Tell me up front. Don't lie upon lie upon lie. From start to finish it took 2 hours and I got nothing. NOTHING in 2 HOURS If you don't want an aggravating evening I would avoid this place. Saturday night 8:30. Main dining room inside. I ordered Bermuda beef, which was weirdly served on pumpernickel, and was light on beef and horseradish sauce. My husband ordered Roast Beast, was supposed to have stuffed pepper but they ran out so he asked for extra greens and cheese. Got the extra greens but light on cheese, light on beef. Menu specified butcher block roll but received with Texas toast and cheese melted on outside of sandwich. Main problem with both is stingy on the roast beef, especially for thick slices of bread. Service not great - more interested in bussing tables in the bar, with no one waiting for a table, than coming back to check on tables. Waited far too long for check. Finally asked another staff member to get our server. Reflected in 15% tip vs our standard 20%. We will not be back. read more

Hot, well cooked food and good service can make or break a place... The first time I came here (a couple of years ago), I ordered a veggie burger that came to my table with bacon on it (??). The server seemed upset when I mentioned it (upset that I didn't take the bacon off my burger and just eat it??) It had taken so long to get the food that I decided against having my burger re-made. It was a serious disappointment and I left not only hungry but vowing to not ever return. I recently went in again (with a family member who chose this restaurant) and was amazed at the difference in the food and the service. Food came out hot, our server was super attentive, everything was delicious, and my veggie burger came to my table with no meat on it!! When our server found out that my kids weren't interested in eating dessert off the dessert menu (too fancy for my littles), she brought out homemade cookies that someone had given her!!! WHAT?!?!?!? Yes, she gave my kids her own cookies so that they could still have dessert. My mind has been changed!! I'm glad I gave this place a second chance. Been here for lunch in large and small groups. The bar/restaurant has separate rooms. The wait staff is always pleasant and knowledgeable. We stopped in during the week for lunch. Both of us had the stir fry, me with grilled chicken and Mark had the beef. There were tons of veggies and though not as al dente as I like, were very tasty. Tin Pan offers soups, salads, sandwiches, burgers and wraps. Dinner entrees are also offered. Consistent quality in food and personnel. What could be better?? read more

Mehh. It's not bad and the price points are very reasonable, but I've definitely experienced better. First the good: - The venue is beautiful! Lots of outdoor seating and a beautiful indoor dining room. I think they have a great beer selection too, but don't quote me on it as I didn't partake in any beer drinking. - Diverse menu: with everything from burgers to salads to pasta to BBQ ribs to lots of Seafood options. OK, now let's get to the experience: Service was friendly, but inconsistent. My water was refilled only once and I had to ask for it. I was thirsty the whole time! Our food came out pretty quickly, but our bill took forever to run. The food: meh! I had the "stuffed flounder" which was a flounder stuffed with grab topped with lobster sauce. The flounder tasted off, kind of fishy, as if it was just nearly cooked from frozen or not too fresh. Or maybe just seasoned poorly. The "lobster sauce" was a sort of seafood gravy that had no distinct flavor, just very creamy. Not lobster-esque at all. The crab was pretty good, so the few bits in there I appreciated. The broccoli that came with it was not fresh! Not tasty at all! The baked potato I asked for with it was OK. My friend who ordered the taco salad had a huge taco shell with bits of ground beef in there. They forgot the guacamole but we asked for it and after trying it, it seemed like it was pretty good. If I came again, I would probably order that. All in all -- at $10-15 per entree, it's OK. If the service was more consistent this time around, it would probably be a 3-star experience, but as it stands I was not a fan. read more

Sunday afternoon in Lewiston isn't complete without a trip to Tin Pan Alley. Comfortable seating and friendly servers complement the versatile menu, generous portions and inexpensive pricing. The menu: TPA has daily specials and my dining partner and I sampled a few. The Meatball Pastini Soup - akin to Italian Wedding soup - tasted too much like canned with some spices added. The Buffalo Chicken sandwich had a soft toasted roll with lettuce (fresh) and tomato as well as home made potato chips. We had fries with that as well. The chips had too much oil but the fries were seasoned well. The Chimichurri Steak Salad had good cuts of seasoned beef, sliced avocado, broiled tomato and sweet onions, pepper jack cheese and was topped with home made tortilla strips. The Citrus dressing was the star of that dish. I'll be looking for it again the next time I'm here. Overall well-priced bar-style comfort food with great staff. read more

On our way back from picking up Auntie Patsy from Toronto, we stopped here for a nice Saturday lunch. Looking for somewhere quiet (NCAA tourney in town) with good food. Tin Pan delivered! I did not get any photos as we tucked in too quickly, but after reviewing the menu (which had a number of interesting things) all three of us ordered the pot roast sandwich with onion rings. Wow ... pot roast so so tender; the bun was a bit yeasty and good, a light horseradish sauce was spread on it, as well as cheddar cheese. The onion rings must have been house cut and battered; perfectly fried, and a large portion. I have to make a specific call out for the bloody mary; although I didn't get it with 'the works' (onion ring, pickle, etc.) the base one was terrific; spicy, but with a number of flavors perfectly balanced; the lemon/lime slices were fresh and added to the flavor. I ordered a second! Next time I'm going to order the Roast Beast; a roast beef sandwich with a stuffed banana pepper, mozzarella cheese and marinara sauce. Highly recommend! read more

I come to Tin Pan once a year where I fish the Niagara River for steelhead. The guides always want to come here after we eat, likely because it's so casual, cheap and we can eat and watch the news or a sporting event without being rushed out the door. The food isn't excellent. It's almost bar food, but there's value here. In fact, I tend to always order the baked haddock and there's enough of it to feed two. There's nothing on the menu I've had that hasn't been ok. Keep in mind, this isn't gourmet. It's the kind of place people come, have a few drinks and order food to go with it. Ahh Tin Pan. It's been around forever. It's like walking into a time machine to my childhood in the 80's. When people ask me about Tin Pan, I usually say it smells like urinal cakes. Not sure if that's the source of the smell, but whatever it is, that's what it reminds me of. So, over the years they've consolidated their menu quite a bit. They do simple things pretty well. Their club sandwich is pretty good. Wings are good. Beer selection is ok with a few taps (maybe like 8 or so?). However, if you are expecting GREAT food, this isn't the place. In the summer, they have an outdoor seating area. It has no view really, but it's good to be outside anyway. It's really a place for locals, and is pretty much an old-school american bar and grill. In the past, I actually HATED this place after some AWFUL run ins with food. It's gotten better. I took my whole family there the other week, and we had not gone in like 5 years. We sat outside, ordered wings, salads, and a club and nobody was disliking anything. It is what it is I suppose, and clearly, that isn't going to change anytime soon. I will say though, the last three trips there, my order has been wrong when it came out. Take that for what you will. read more

I like this place because Brickyard is getting too busy and that normally means the quality of food isn't as great as it should be or so I've come to learn over the years. They have the same food here just about I mean I can get my fried pickles and a good beer so I can't complain. Just wish the owners would let them do the dry rub chicken wings here too. Yes, this places is owned by same guys and they have another place just next to brickyard. Other than that it's good here nothing to write home about as they say but I can't really complain because it's decent food and good price. Well, it went from. Solid 9 to a 1 within 2 months. This place has gone down hill fast. So I've ordered take out 3 times in the past 2 months and each time I've either had missing item, shorted, or just not cooked right. Example wings used to be cooked great now they are soggy. I should have taken a pic of salad I order what a joke half a chicken breast way burned looked dreadful. Needless to say I went back got a refund for the missing soup I ordered and also took back the salad I looked at once and laughed. Won't be back. Three of us went to tin pan for lunch on a weekday. We sat on the spacious and private patio, which also had a (currently unstocked) outdoor bar (probably will be ready for the summer). I admit I was a little nervous at first because I had a time constraint, there was only one server working, and there were 2 large parties dining inside. However, our server was extra attentive even with the other tables and the rush, and our food came out of the kitchen incredibly quickly (considering they were probably short staffed back there too). I ordered the open faced steam sandwich, which was cooked nicely and medium rare. It was on garlic bread and topped with arugula and a thick gravy. Honestly I loved it. I only wish there were more arugula and a way to keep the bread from becoming soggy. I also had crab cakes which were homemade, lightly seasoned, and filled with jumbo lump crab meat. The flavor was great and it wasn't all bread crumbs so I was satisfied. You definitely need to dip them though they were a little dry. The prices were super fair. A glass of house wine was $4. I will definitely be back to try the stuffed banana peppers and homemade burgers. read more

Went here tonight for my mom's 70th birthday dinner. The parking lot looked mostly empty but when we walked in we saw the bar area packed. This must be the place to go for locals to drink. Not many people were at tables eating. It took a long time for food to come out, both appetizers and our dinners. My brother, Mom, and Dad all got burgers which they were very happy with. My husband got chicken parm- said the sauce wasn't that great. I got something called the loaded beef on Weck- the traditional roast beef topped with cheddar cheese, bacon, caramelized onions and horsey sauce on a kimmelweck. It was REALLY good! One thing that was weird is the menu didn't list if anything came with a side and the waitress did not ask which side we wanted. My parents and brother's burgers came with fries and mine came with pub chips- I would've asked for fries instead since we already had chips as part of our appetizer. Portions are good, not too big or small. I'd recommend this place but definitely not if you're in a hurry! read more

The food here is decent, not great. I ordered the steak salad and it was mostly lettuce and black olives. Didn't have much steak on it at all. I like the curly fries on the salad, that was different. Wait staff and bartender were friendly and helpful. The walls and pictures were dirty and dusty. The tv had cables hanging from it. Went twice for all you can eat crabs and throughly enjoyed the drinks and food the first time.. the second I can't say the same. I love crab legs and have cooked them myself countless times, that being said idk if it was the drinks or what but I ended up getting food poisoning from under cooked shellfish. First time in my life I ever could say I got sick but seriously. If your going to do all you can eat I would expect the establishment to properly let the food COOK regardless of trying to just get the food out!!! The service was pretty terrible...our server was about 18 years old and frequently stood a few feet away from the table, leaning against the wall and texting. I was pleasantly surprised with what turned out to be a really good sandwich!
