I've been enjoying this pizza since 1969 when I enrolled at nearby Niagara University. I had no experience with NY pizza, as I came up here from Tampa. Local favorite. Probably best to order in advance for pickup. Wings take 20 minutes. They have square pizzas with thicker crust than a "NY" pizza and sell by the slice. If you come after the lunch rush, you get the leftovers. I made the mistake of grabbing a slice of cheese (all that was left) and wings. The slice was incredible, I mean one of the better pizza slices I have had, and I went back for another but they were cleaned out. No more slices until dinner rush. They really need to update the website and HOURS!! You never know when they're open. They say they're open till 9pm but don't take order after 8pm or sometimes 730pm. Ordered the half tray pizza and 20 wing combo (half hot, half mild), $32 for takeout. They needed 45 minutes to make it on a Saturday evening. Finding parking was a bit of a challenge on the street. Coming in to pick it up was uneventful. The staff here are focused on making the food, not really serving the front counter in a quick or overly friendly way. The place inside is run down with a crappy tiny restroom. Though, it does have a good number of tables, and I think it's probably best to eat your wings here, than get them for takeout. They put our 20 wings in styrofoam containers, with barely any air holes, which made them super soft and soggy. They also didn't cook them that long, so there probably wasn't much crisp to them in the first place. The hot wings didn't have that much hotness, the mild tasting a bit better with a hint of buttery flavor. I stopped by here awhile ago with my father for dinner. We were in the Lewiston as we were going king salmon fishing the next day. So whenever we were looking for a place to eat, pizza appealed to us. We actually ended up outside of the restaurant but due to Covid precautions, no one was allowed inside. So i had to place my to go order on the phone while sitting outside the restaurant which was certainly weird. We ultimately decided on a large pepperoni pizza and were given a 20 minute wait time. After killing that, and a little more, we were able to pick up our pizza by calling the restaurant and paying, all outside. Once we got the pizza back to our campsite for the night we dug in. It ended up being quite good as there was a ton of great tasting cheese! The pepperoni also tasted nice on it and while the flavor of the sauce was a little lost, it had a decent crust as well. With all of the cheese on it, my dad and I were unable to finish it. The bottom line for me is that I would stop by here again in the future. Don't be like me and try to go in to order during Covid. However, I liked the amount of cheese that was on the pizza and was pleased with it. read more

Old school since 1966. We had originally drove to the Silo to eat but they were closed for the season. We found this restaurant nearby and decided on eating here but their in room dining is closed - take out only - bummer. We ordered a Cheesesteak sandwich and french fries. We waited in our car across the street while it rained for around 10 minutes. As I was about to go pick up the food the girl had come out in the rain with our order and found us across the street - now that's service. Called at 7:50pm on Thursday July 9th to place an order for pickup. Girl on the phone says "We're done taking orders for the night"... Me: "Your hours say you're open until 10pm" Girl: "The owner says we're done taking orders for the night" WTF -- You stop taking orders 2 hours before closing?!?!? Ordered from this place for subs after previously having some very sub-par pizza a few months back. Very disappointed with what I got. My whole order was 1Meatball Parm, and 1 steak & cheese sub with sautéed peppers and onions, and light Mayo. The Meatball parm was cold in the middle and the Steak & cheese sub was a mess. Not only was there no cheese and very skimpy but they filled it almost full of UNSAUTÉED red onions, peppers, and so much mayonnaise it was oozing out of the sides. This reviewer has been frequenting Vinny's since the late 70s when the old man was the only one in the kitchen. Now there's a revolving door of cooks resulting in pizzas of varying quality. This is, unfortunately, Vinny's achilles heel: inconsistency. Sometimes the pizza are 5* quality, sometimes 4*, sometimes 3. You just never know what you're gonna get. Inexplicably, somebody decided it would be a good idea to switch to a different kind of pepperoni and to stop putting the pepperoni under the cheese. Not since New Coke has a food-related blunder been committed on a more gargantuan scale. Pepperoni under the cheese was Vinny's trademark (despite the fact that Pizza Oven on Niagara St did it first). There was never a sloppier, greasier, tastier pizza than a Vinny's half tray, certain to leave stains behind, and an oil trail that moved from the palm of one's hand, down the wrist, inevitably finding its way to the inner forearm, and oftentimes the elbow. And it was the pepperoni oils intermingling with the sauce under the cheese that created those distinctive Vinny's slabs. You'd better have a paper towel roll handy because napkins didn't stand a chance. One thing about Vinny's slabs is their very short shelf life. If you happen to forget to wrap them up you're likely to find them several hours later in a transformed state, as hard and rigid as a discus and just as aerodynamic, as i happened to find out once at a stag party in the back room of the Stone Jug. The honored guest that evening was a Vinny's aficionado who grossly overestimated the amount of half trays required to feed attendees. About 8-10 boxes of Vinny's half trays sat for hours while revelers debauched themselves on skunk beer and raffled liquor. As members of the bridal party indulged lesbian strippers and low-grade pornography, the slabs slowly hardened until as they became as stiff as a 2 by 4. A dispute broke out between two groups of drunken individuals who soon discovered that Vinny's slabs could be used to seriously injure someone else. Both sides quickly scrambled to secure ammunition and the battle ensued: Vinny's slabs were fired in anger back and forth as uninvolved parties dove for cover. Dozens of slabs whizzed ominously toward their intended targets like Chinese stars, and frequently committed similar carnage. Horrifying. On a more pleasant note, Vinny's homemade sub rolls are of very high quality and definitely worth investigating if they haven't discontinued them. i highly recommend the steak and cheese with everything on it, if it's still available. It's nice to still have Vincenzos around even if time has changed us both. But i'll say this and not a word more: No matter how the wind blows me toward the gatekeeper and his keys, i'm keeping my eyes on the prize and the pepperoni under the cheese! read more

Worse customer service. When we rang the bell for someone to help a man came out from the back and he asked us what we wanted in a very impatient way. It felt like he wanted to get rid of us as soon as possible. The pizza wasn't very good and was really greasy and with a tough crust. It may not of been very fresh. I would not recommend. read more

First time ordering here. Had chicken finger sub, chicken parm sub, onion rings, and fries. Called in the order. Loved how quick the order was ready, compared to our local fav pizza place that takes double the time. Went to pick up & the place was empty. The subs were borderline Ok. Chicken didn't seem to be good quality and there was hardly any toppings. It was wrapped in many layers of plastic wrap, hard to open without making a mess. Onion rings were great. Fries were the standard frozen steak fries. Really liked how they have half orders of fries that you can add onto your sub order for half price. Won't be going back there for subs anytime soon, the other shops in the area are much better but I'm open to trying their pizza. read more

Everything you want from a pizzeria. I've noticed a lot of other places in town focus on a variety of weird specialty pizzas and subs and it seems like their food suffers because the kitchen staff is trying to do too much. You won't find that at Vincenzo's. It is a small family owned and operated spot and has been since 1966, and after being in business so long you can tell they have mastered the art of making a pizza. Great crisp crust, a perfect ratio of sauce and cheese, and always perfectly cooked. Cannot say enough good about this business. If you're visiting from out of town you have to try this pizza! Been eating pizza from here all my life, it's the best pizza in Lewiston. It was heartbreaking when they closed for a while and once they reopened I went there at least once a week for months. So glad that they're there and going strong, you must experience this place!!! Now I live in Arizona and anytime I come back home I make sure I get a half tray from them!! Delicious pizza. We had sausage and it had a bit of a kick to it. We ordered a large which was 8 generous sized pieces. $16 for the pizza and 4 drinks, can't beat that. Inside was clean and tidy. Only giving it 4 stars because it was miserably hot inside and the guy working there wasn't very helpful. I'm not saying employees need to kiss my ass but give me a break. We'd never been there and had no idea when to pay/get drinks, etc. I felt like he was resisting the urge to roll his eyes at us.
