Well since they're the only uniform shop in town they monopolize the uniform market here in Long Beach. I've had orders placed that take well over 3 months to receive. If you have to get something embroidered forget about it. They'll tell you to wait for notifications from them that never come, you pretty much have to call them periodically to see if your items are in yet. The in store stock is limited and it seems that they never have anything. I had a pair of paints hemmed and when I received them, they were cut wrong so I ended up going to my own tailor to get the job done. I was there yesterday I had the worst experience ever I was being helped by one cashier in the middle of my transaction went two police officers walked in she stopped in the middle of that to help them like I wasn't even there to purchase anything so another cashier came to help me when the third officer walk in she also stop helping me to help him.help so I'm guessing that security money is no good. This store had nothing in stock for myself or my partner. We had to have everything ordered. They didn't even have any extra large shirts, REALLY??? and no 38 pants. AMAZING. I received a text that said that my order was ready for pickup so I drive the two hours from my house to find out that all that they had in stock was one pair of pants, everything else was on back order. IDIOTS!!! Now I received an email that says that 11 of 1 order is read for pickup, these people are morons!!! I called last night to check on my order and was told that it wasn't ready, the girl called back 10 minutes later to tell me that they are in. The staff at Galls are very friendly and knowledgeable of their merchandise. Their prices are a little high compared to other inform shops. I was helped right away when I walked in by a young lady who was very friendly. A little hidden, this place is located on the back side of a Rite Aid. While the plaza has their name written on their side, we had to drive completely around the building to find the entrance! I'm not sure if their customer service has improved or we just caught them on a good day (from reading all the previous reviews), but I thought the employees were quite helpful. They were happy to answer our questions and although they were out of one of the items we needed, they said they could order it. It would've taken a week+ so we decided against it. At the end, we asked if it would be possible to sew a patch onto a shirt and hem the pants and although they said they were backed up with orders due to the start of the year and initially quoted us 7-10 days to get it done, they ended up doing the alteration right then and there since it was relatively simple. I walked into the store and was greeted by the cashier but when I went to look at the work boots, nobody asked me if I needed any help or even acknowledged me. I was shuffling boxes around trying to find the right pair of work boots until I went up to an employee and asked for help. There was a guy working in the shoe section but he was busy helping someone else out. When he finally comes up to me, his supervisor or coworker (I don't know), tells him that he needs him somewhere else and leaves me hanging. So I find the pair of boots that I thought were best. Ordered a couple of custom polos for work and I would rather have my wisdom teeth pulled with a hammer and chisel than deal with this store. Staff tries to be as polite as possible but they have people there who do not deliver. Three weeks after the order I called and told it was at their Cerritos facility. Called a few days later and then told shirts are on back order. Called last week and told screens needed to be done and shirts would be ready for pickup yesterday and I would receive a text to pickup. Well yesterday came and went. I called today was transfered and left on hold for 15 minutes. Called back and tossed around from person to person. Placed on hold for 12 minutes and was disconnected. Called back a third time and advised they are not sure if it was done or even placed on a truck for delivery from Cerritos to Long Beach. Well guess they will mail them if they come In? Only time will tell. This will be my last order or purchase from Galls in LB. Excuses have to stop and honesty with your customers is paramount. Your Yelp shows plenty of displeasure with your store so what will it take for some changes to happen. This place. Is garbage. Unfortunately it's also the only place my agency is contracted with so that I get my money reimbursed. So I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place. Do I go here to get my money back on uniforms and equipment that will no doubt be nothing close to what I ordered. Thus adding time, frustration, and down right anger? Or do I just go elsewhere to buy the same product and not be reimbursed? I hate this place. Every time I come here something is wrong. I'm actually writing this review while I wait for them to search their entire inventory for the simple order of a shirt with patches and a name plate. Where do I start? Waiting for over any hour to get helped on my initial visit should have tipped me off to go somewhere else. Then waiting a month for the uniform to come in, another hour plus to get fitted. When I called to see if my uniform was done being altered they asked me all the same questions that had been written down during the initial fitting. The final straw was showing up on Saturday and the store being closed for inventory. With the store hours already being not customer friendly you would think they'd do inventory on a day they were usually closed. I will NEVER shop here again. read more

I went to Galls today because i needed a new pair of boots. I have been to Galls before in the past for uniforms, boots, and other items. I have always had a mediocre experience there. When their shop was at a different location they were much more helpful and had a lot more boot and uniform items. Today, I went in to get a pair of boots. Not only did they not have the style of boots I wanted they didn't have any boots in my size at all. No one offered to help me during my whole stay while I rummaged through all the boots trying to find one to try on. Once I figured out they didn't have ANYTHING in stock I went to the Firefighter Safety Center in Santa Fe Springs. There they were extremely helpful and had everything I needed and more. I would recommended going there first. read more

Let me start off by saying, don't ever come here. I came in to get a simple uniform and it took one hour for them to figure out getting it ordered. Took 3 weeks to get it done. They emailed two times before the 3 weeks to say my order was ready and each time I called to make sure.......sat on hold for 15 minutes only to be told it wasn't done. Once I went to pick up my uniform, the hem and embroidery wasn't done....had to wait 45 min for that and once I tried on the shirts......they were done so poorly like they rushed and slapped it together. Now I can't wear the uniform and have to somehow find a way to get them fixed.......definitely not at LB Galls. The is for your POOR work Galls I will never come back read more

Walking in to the store, there's a friendly atmosphere, the people are actually very helpful, and help you with any of your needs and or concerns. ****BUT... horrible processing with orders. I initially placed an order for 2 items because they did not have the size that I needed. They told me they will instead have to order them from their distribution center in Cerritos, and that it would take anywhere from 10-14 days and that they would call me when it is ready for pick up. Okay cool. So, 14 days passed I call them, they tell me it's not ready yet, that it could take another week or so. Mind you, they NEVER called me, so I had to keep calling and asking about the status of my order. Finally, 3 1/2 weeks later I called and they said that it was ready. I go in, pick up my order, get home and I open it, come to find it is in the wrong color. At this point I was furious, because not only did it take 24 days for my order to be ready, but it is wrong. WOW!! Okay, so I go in the next day, told them what happened, they apologized and put an order in for the right color now. They asked me how long it took for the order to be ready I told them 3 1/2 weeks they said, yea it will probably take about the same time. Ridiculously stupid. Again, I kept calling every week asking for the status of my order, and every time they would say, "Not yet, maybe another week." At week 4 I call in and they said they have one item ready but not the other, and that by the end of the week it should be ready. Finally, a week and a half later I call, and my order is finally ready for pick up. I immediately rush to the store, this time I open my order in the store, and FINALLY everything is right! Overall, it took a bit over 2 months for my order to be fully complete. Never, ever, ordering (in store) from here again! read more

The jacket has a removable liner & its' zipper broke the first time it was cold enough to insert. Nancy, the store manager, listened carefully and thoughtfully to me, examined the garment and contacted the manufacture and was able to get me a replacement. I've been shopping at Galls since I was in High school for R.O.T.C. accessories and such. Now, 16 years later, I'm still shopping here for all of my tactical clothing and accessories. They have a real nice selection of 5.11 and Tru-Spec attire and accessories. Not to mention Safari Holsters and such. I've been dealing with Robert S. For years. He's the most helpful and product line knowledgeable sales rep I've dealt with in a long time. Not to mention he remembers his customers by name, what a good feeling to know that "We're" not just another face or customer. I'm not one to post reviews, I tend to read them instead but I believe in giving credit where credit is due. I apologize if this is a long review for some of you but I had to write it. THE worst customer service. Got my entire uniform two weeks ago. Waiting for my jacket to come in. Worked with a young girl who was CLUELESS and told me she would call as soon as my order was ready. Over a week and I never got a call. I called corporate and they said the jacket is already at the store. Talked to this SAME gal who says it's been sitting in the box because they haven't had time to unpack it. Maybe they need more help because customers should not have to wait because they are shorthanded. She tells me the jacket will be embroidered and ready the next day. Three days later, she has no idea where the jacket is. I call and talk to the Manager Nancy and I tell her this idiot has probably caused all of your poor reviews. Nancy tells me not to call her employee a name and be respectful. I said I did not curse. An IDIOT is an idiot. How about you respect your customer's time? I ordered my Rio Hondo uniform on 9/30. After I left I realized that they ordered the wrong gun holster when I specifically asked for a holster for a glock. I called them they said it would be extra so they charged my card. After 3 weeks of waiting an many many emails saying certain things have arrived at the store. I give them a call to see if my order is ready. The lady said we are just waiting to put patches on your windbreaker it should be ready 10/21 before I make my long hour drive out to long beach I call on the 21st waiting for 10 mins then hang up & called again just to be put on hold for another 10 mins which is bullshit just to make sure everything is ready, when I call they say on we are waiting on my hat to be made it will be ready the 23rd. Once I get there on the 23rd they give me all my uniform, & they ask me do you know if the class number is supposed to be on there or not? How the fuck am I supposed to know? Aren't you? I call my friend who got his uniform from keystone which took less than a week to get his uniform he said his hat has the class number on there I tell Galls that I need the class number on there & ask if there is anyway to get this done today because I have a long drive out there. They said they will ship it to my house the woman takes down my address & says she is going to ship it to me & I should have it before I start academy which is 11/3 later I realize my leather package I ordered was missing handcuff cases wtf that's bullshit how hard is it to get everything together? After a week of waiting today 10/29 I called them I was asking where my hat was because the woman promised they would make my hat that day & have it ship out that Friday. I call them get put on hold for 5 mins the lady comes to the phone saying we shipped it to Rio Hondo someone in the office signed for it, I said why the fuck is it at rio Hondo I don't live there that's not my house she told me that's the address they had on file I told her that's bullshit the woman who helped me wrote down my address I told her my address she wrote that shit down & she said let me go ask the shipping department let me put you on hold. On hold for another 5 mins she comes back saying yeah it's at rio Hondo I was like I don't fucking care that's not my problem that's your problem I need my hat I'm not driving there just to get my damn hat. I told her I want to talk to a manger & she puts me on hold for 10 long mins & comes back & tells me she talked to her manager & can have it at my house by Monday 11/2 a day before I start academy. I told her I asked to talk to a manger why the fuck does it take 10 mins to go get a manager. I want to talk to your manager give the phone to your damn manager. I get the manager on the phone after waiting another long 10 mins & the lady sounds like the same woman just answered the phone saying this is Nancy. Bullshit it was the same lady. Getting my hat a day before the academy starts is not what I wanted to happen. This places fucking SUCKS!!! My Mom has worked for the LA County Sheriffs Department for going on 30 years and I remember taking a trip every so often with her when I was younger to get fitted for her uniforms. At that time it was just Long Beach Uniforms and we didn't really have any issues that I recall. I moved out of state for several years and recently moved back and she asked to to go with her on 12/2/17 to place her order for her uniforms. She paid ahead of time to have them shipped to the house once they were ready, that way she didn't have to take time off work to go get them. She mentioned to me that there have been issues the last few times with pick up/delivery and them being sent somewhere else. It took a month and a half to receive 4 out of 5 shirts and they were shipped properly. Then she got an email saying her belt and the last shirt were in and "ready for pick-up at the store" . We called the store and they put us on hold for over 30 minuets to go look for the order. They came back and said they didn't have them and we told them about the email and they went looking again. After being on the phone for over an hour we hung up and called back. The other person we talked to said that they told them where it was and to ship it out a while ago and she was shocked that we were waiting that long. She said they would ship out the next day and didn't have a tracking number. UPS didn't knock and we weren't expecting it until the following day at least (again no tracking number) and it was a nightmare getting it from UPS. A little over a week later she got another email saying her pants were "ready for pick-up at the store." We called again and they said they would ship them out and they should go out the next day. Knowing what happened before we were waiting for the UPS truck and got them without issue. This last package completed her order. On 2/2/18, we received a notice from UPS that they attempted to deliver a package with no information about said package. We weren't specifically expecting anything but I was home all day and didn't hear them knock again. It again was a nightmare to get it from UPS. It is finally available for pickup and it's from Galls Long Beach? My mom already received all of her uniforms, so she asked me to open it and see what it was. You guys sent someone else's uniforms to our house, different color and style. This place is my go-to spot for both medical and law enforcement supplies. I've purchased med kits, duty gear, uniforms, and other accessories from them. Though, my sewing skills are a bit rusty, should've had them see on my sergeant chevrons at the store instead of trying to see them on at home, hand stitching. Still, the items here are outstanding.
