I got weak this morning and decided to call galls / Long Beach uniform to ask for one item! Lol! Classic galls fashion, as soon as the phone was answered, the lady put me on hold. I stayed there for 15 minutes before I decided to hang up. I thought I could hold off and wait until she returned to tell her off, but their horrible customer service won this round again! This place has terrible customer service and they don't seem to be as well stocked as when they were at the old and much bigger location. I went there looking for some uniform pants and when I walked in I was asked if I needed help, when I replied that I did I was told to "sign in". After signing in I waited for about 5 minutes and no one came to help me so I started looking around, as I looked around I found a couple of pairs of pants that I was going to try on. Approximately 20 minutes after I walked into the store and was already trying on some pants in the fitting room I heard a female call out my name, my girlfriend told her that I was in the fitting room trying on a couple pair of pants. The female employee seemed annoyed that she had to get off the phone to help me. After trying on several pairs of pants my girlfriend asked the same female employee (who was on the phone on a personal call) if she could help me because I needed the pants to be hemmed and altered. She seemed bothered and annoyed that she had to get off the phone to come and help me. When she came to the fitting room she asked me what I needed and I told her. She looked at me and told me that she would find someone else to help me. There was another female employee on a computer outside the fitting rooms but never looked at us or offered any assistance. After seeing the lack of customer service and interest in helping me, we decided to leave Galls. As we left and walked by the counter near the entrance the same female employee that was annoyed when we asked her for help was on the phone on a personal call. Galls has changed since they moved to this smaller location, when they were at the old, larger location their customer service was great. There was always some one ready to help you and their selection of products was much larger and better. I was really disappointed with my experience at this Galls store especially because I had driven 20 miles, which I had done several times over the last 20 years to their old location. Fortunately we found another police supply/uniform store just down the street called Keystone Uniforms. The employees there were helping a couple uniformed Long Beach Police officers when we walked in but "Rose" greeted us as we walked in and asked us what we were looking for. I told her that I wanted to buy several pairs of uniform pants and of the bad experience we just had at Galls. Rose directed me to what I was looking for, gave me a few pants from different brands to try on and called over the seamstress to mark them for hemming and other alterations that I needed and I was in and out in less than 30 minutes and happy with the pants and the great customer service I experienced at Keystone Uniforms. I am happy that we found Keystone Uniforms and I will no longer waste my time going to Galls where they don't care to help you unless your in uniform and their inventory never seems to be in stock. read more

Galls ordered me a nomex long sleeve in the color and size that I wanted and guaranteed it two days later. Two days later the shirt arrived and I was notified promptly and the shirt fit perfectly! I ended up needing patches and VIRGINIA not only got my shirt done within minutes but also got a jacket I purchased when I picked up my shirt within minutes after that. Was driving when I saw this van cut off 2 cars..like bad, If they didn't evade they would have definitely crashed.. my bf was driving so I called the 800 number, was directed to someone out of state then finally to the correct facility when I spoke to the manager about the irresponsible driver he seemed really upset not about the driver but about the fact I called them. He said"who? Not my guys? Dont lie" and I told him I can record and send if he wants he said "I'll deal with it " and hung up. The van kept going south on the 5 while I turned on the 22. I went here to buy uniforms, first thing I noticed as I walked in the store that it is not stocked. I roamed around looking for what I needed, no one in the store but me and one other person, yet I haven't been greeted or helped. I asked for assistance and was told to wait. 15 minutes later, still waiting. As I watched several employees typing on computers ignoring my human presence. I asked again. Now it seems I've bothered and iratated the employee, he ask what I wanted, and he walked me to the rack. Picked out my uniform and walked to the cashier, once again she was typing on the computer for 5 minutes, ignoring my presence. They only get 1 star because giving a star is mandatory. I don't know WHO these people are that give 5 stars to this place. Either they are paid, are fake, or are people that are friends of the employees. Every single time I go or call this place, their service is the WORST. They have incorrectly charged my credit card before, and refused to admit it, to the point where I had to have the back reverse my charges as fraud. When I call, I am put on hold for a long time, I'm talking over 10 minutes. That is not 10 minutes of them looking for my order. At this point, they havent even asked me for that yet. LOL! Is that what you call customer service? When Im in the store, there are 4 to 6 people sitting on their asses in the front, while 1 person in the back is taking orders. Yet they are ALWAYS SO BUSY (at least according to Raquel at the front desk today 03/21/15 @ 12:15pm). When I call, all of these people that I see sitting on their ass just miraculously have work to do??? Suuurreeeeee they do. I have been (forced to) going to Galls in LB for 3 years and have not yet had one experience where they showed decent (not good or great) customer service. The new location is supposed to be better, BUT THEY ARE NOT. They NEVER have any of the items that I need in stock. Because of that, ordering is always necessary, and ordering with them is a hassle. They never have an estimate on when your order will be in and complete. They just have an annoying text and email system that will send you a message when 1 shirt out of the 5 that you need come in. And another message that 2 pants out of the 5 that you ordered came in two, three or 4 weeks later. Last year, it took 3 months to get 5 pants and 5 shirts. When I got them, the alterations that I requested were not even done. GREAT JOB, huh? I could go on and on and on about this fraud of a place, but why? On today's date, 10-17-2019, myself and a coworker went to galls to purchase a wind breaker with covert/overt I.D. panels. Since we needed the jackets for an event the following day I asked Virginia at the customer pick up section if it was possible to have the I.D. panels silk screened on the same day. I was doubtful they could do it ass they appeared to be busy working in thier section. Virginia consulted with Barbara if it was possible to have the jackets done the same day. So, came in and ordered some shirts to be screen printed. Staff was nice and seemed to understand every thing I needed. They asked me when I needed shirts done by. I told them and THEY told me shirts would be done no problem. Again, they made it seem like no problem to get them done. I purchased some other items and left. So I show up on day promised and they seem to have no clue. Shirts NOT even started. They then tell me the lady is backed up and busy. I politely ask then why did you tell me they would be done? If you communicate with me then fine. I needed these shirts, that is why I asked for them to be done by certain date, and was promised by 2 staff members they would be. I just cancelled order due to lack of empathy and "don't care" attitude. So, after cancelling I was told I was never charged so no refund needed. I check my account and show employee I WAS charged. She then tells me oh they just put funds on hold and money should be returned soon. Can't tell me when MY money should be returned, but it will. So now I have to wait and monitor my account to make sure I get my money back. NEVER doing business here again. I should've trusted reviews but didn't. I understand mistakes happen, so I gave Galls 2 stars instead of 1. The score is mainly due to this place having horrible customer service. Not all, but a good majority of the employees have an "I don't know I just work here" and "I don't care" type attitude. I ordered Velcro name tapes in Navy and was told they would be ready the following Monday, but that I would receive a call. Monday rolls around, no call. I show up Tuesday before closing and they had to quickly sew on the Velcro, then hand me black name tapes, I had ordered Navy. They attempted to pass it off as my mistake and said, "no it says you ordered Black." So I refer to my receipt which showed "Navy." The lady apologizes and says they can't make any that day since they were close to closing but they could mail the navy ones, unfortunately I needed them ASAP and had to return the following day to pick up the correct color, an additional hour round trip in traffic. The following day I show up, stand around a bit before someone comes up to help me. I'm then asked "did you receive a call?" I explained the situation and then asked what happened to the black name tapes as I could've used them for my work bag, but they didn't know. They said they were most likely thrown away the day before or "sent back to get them out of the system" whatever that means, however they didn't even bother to look for them. Thankfully they at least had the correct ones this time. All in all, 2 name tapes cost me twice as much due to having to return on account of their mistake, and had I not had my receipt I would've most likely had to reorder them as they tried to pawn off the blame, but most annoying are the employee attitudes, again not all employees, just a good majority. read more
