Had a very yummy dinner last night for a friend's birthday at GAME on the River. There were 5 of us & we went on Friday night around 6pm. They don't take reservations but we did not have an issue getting a table inside. They offer outdoor seating as well as two floors of indoor seating. We were seated at a table in the front of the big bay window. The view was great! We watched the Belle of Louisville go by. We ordered the Scotch Eggs for an appetizer. The eggs were cooked to perfection. The pork belly was a little tough on one end but overall was yum! It comes with smoked truffle mayo & cranberry-jalapeño jam. Both sauces were very good. I did the "Build Your Own Burger" option: brioche bun, prime angus Med Rare, cheddar cheese, bacon, grilled pineapple, mixed greens, tomato, raw onions, pickles & the Sweet & Spicy BBQ. My burger was more Med. Well/Well Done but it was still juicy & flavorful. They have restrooms located on both floors. One on the first floor & two on the second. The restroom upstairs was very clean & decorated super cute.

The food was so delicious. Be careful what protein you choose before you order. Ask to see "The List." It'll explain how gamey the meat is. Or waitress was polite and on top of drinks. It was quite enough to have a decent conversation and its homey.

    S'more dessert!

We were looking for something different for dinner and decided to give Game on the River a try. We were warmly greeted by the owner upon our arrival. We decided to try a variety of the meatballs. We definitely had our favorites, but overall, they were all delicious. It was such a quaint friendly environment. We will be back.

Outdoor seating in front of the river. The wagyu meatballs were amazing, as were the Brussel sprouts. Large variety of beers, has to scan the QR code to look thru the choices, there was no menu to look at for drinks, which was disappointing. Server was ok, she never recommended or let me know what the special were, the other server let her tables know. Also, never picked up my salad dish, which was attracting flies. The other server picked it up, The indoor decor was very nice, enjoyed the outdoor seating. Enjoyed the food and the outdoor seating.

Was told to try the chef recommendations. This was the wild boar with Roasted Thai Chili Glazed Brussel Sprouts..

The food was good and fresh. Either build your own burger or they have chef recommendations (try the chefs recommendations) The service was helpful, attentive and friendly.. the weather was nice so we sat outside in the patio area which has a nice view of the river.

This place has been on my list to try for awhile. I was really excited when this second location opened. We came for an early dinner (5pm). We were the only two people in the restaurant. Our waitress was extremely nice. The food took a little longer than I would expect being the only two orders. The food was incredible!! So worth it. We both got a bison burger and it was so good! It was perfectly topped. The sweet potato fries were some of the best fries I've had. The brussel sprouts were in a sweet chili sauce and it was so unique and delicious! I fully enjoyed my experience and I will recommend it to others. Excited to go back and try more!

5 stars for being unique and well executed. We decided to try a lot of different meats by ordering different meatballs to share. The meatballs paired well with the sauce it was served over. Antelope was the most unique flavor in my opinion and probably one of my favorites along with the wild boar. The elk and bison were also very good; the bison had the most spice. I thought the kangaroo and yak were dry and would not order again, but at least I tried something new. The yak was my least favorite and was very dense. I loved the street corn, but if you have a strong aversion to mayonnaise I would advise against it. The restaurant seemed short staffed but our server was friendly and helpful with recommendations on food. I would definitely come again.

Great food and loved the river views from the patio. The service was friendly and minimalist but not in a bad way.

Pricy but worth it. Why? Offers you a singular experience - the ability to try more exotic meats that you can't get anywhere else. I got the elk burger (almost tasted like a version of hamburger) on a brioche bun (should've been toasted! The juice of the burger made the bun a little soggy) with bone marrow aioli (creamy, buttery). It was delicious! The fries too. The frog legs were really tasty as well, although, naturally, not a lot of meat on them. They're a little pricy considering that. The place is in a nice location, with a beautiful view of the river. On a weekday the place isn't packed so it offers a more romantic intimate vibe. You can sit outside which is nice. I think the music they played - old pop - wasn't right for the theme of the place but that's a minor nitpick. Overall, very enjoyable. Would recommend. It's pricey but for a once in a blue moon adventure on a beautiful day - it's worth it!

Definite must try. Very unique menu choices you won't find elsewhere. Burger specialty with choices of wagyu, bison, elk, kangaroo, duck, salmon, antelope, angus, wild boar, & yak. Choose from chef selected burgers or build your own. Four different buns to choose from and 8 free toppings. What really sets this place apart from others is 12 different sauces than includes cranberry jalapeño jam, smoked truffle mayo, mint pesto, horseradish beet sauce, honey smoked Dijon, & bone marrow mayo. I ordered a bison burger with an egg, bacon, cranberry jalapeño jam, grilled pineapple, cheddar, & mixed greens on a brioche bun. I had sweet potato fries on the side. My wife ordered from the chef recommended list and chose a salmon burger. She had Brussel sprouts as her side. Everything was delicious. Service was outstanding. Outside dining with view of the river made for a very nice impromptu date. We also sampled a mixed drink. I don't drink on weeknights but will return for this one: Gin Fizz (Gin, lime juice, & egg whites). We tested a meatball (wagyu) as well that was great.

Brezzie ( sp ) was our waitress; she was totally spot on with everything. The setting was again awesome with a nice day over looking the river, the Louisville skyline and the bridges. Walking bridge was busy. Drinks were ordered and food orders placed. I had aside salad that was fresh, crisp, nicely crafted and tasty. Along with that I had the dry rubbed wings. So good and nice portion. My wife had the Reuben which was new for her (use). It was very, very good and well put together. I'm not a big Reuben person but I tasted it and it was very good! And when Breezie was busy another waitress perfectly slipped in to keep us well served. Their training is spot on. In my opinion this location probably has some of the best trained staff in the Clark County area. Not that others a bad this place just feels like a step up. Seating was available inside and out - accessible seating for those in a wheelchair would be difficult indoors due to limited space - tables are very close together. We elected to sit indoors due to the heat and had no trouble finding an available table. Our server was Greg and while the restaurant was not crowded - he was covering table tables both inside and out - which meant he would disappear for long periods of time. While he did his best to cover everyone appropriately, I believe the manager should reevaluate table coverage for a superior dining experience. The menu provides ample selection of items to order. I would highly recommend the large pretzel as an appetizer. We ordered the Cuban sandwich with potato salad and a chicken sandwich with waffle fries. I mentioned to Greg that I was lactose intolerant and he was able to accommodate by ensuring he would mention to the chef that no diary should be used in preparation. Both sandwiches arrived with no issues - with the only complaint being that the potato salad was very bland. Other than that, all went well. Overall, the food was good - fairly straightforward bar food. During peak times - seating will be limited, possibly non-existent. If you try Pearl Street Taphouse go during off-peak hours for the best service and seating options.

A group of four that arrived after us was served, and left before our waitress brought our food. Our waitress was pleasant enough, but she was a ghost - we rarely saw her. Even water was slow to arrive. One man in our party went to his car to get his own water bottle. The fish nuggets in the fish and chips were not done. Potato salad had little flavor. The huge pretzel was a hit, but not much else. Too bad. We had high hopes. Addendum: the owner's response is basically the same excuse she's repeated to nearly every less than good review. 1,) I wish I'd read reviews first, 2,) they should actually work on improving food and process rather than making excuses if they don't want to close the doors.

I had no idea the veggie burger was the one featured on the show, so as a vegetarian, I was especially excited to try it. I swapped the veggie patty onto the Mushroom & Swiss burger, and it was hands down the best veggie burger I've had in the decade I've been vegetarian. Our group all ordered different burgers, along with the fries and Brussels sprouts, and every single plate was a hit. They have super unique sauces to try as well, I am not a huge pickle fan but the dill pickle hot sauce was my personal favorite. I also recommend grabbing a brown butter toffee cookie on your way out. The restaurant has a fun, laid-back atmosphere with great music, colorful murals, a lively bar area, and Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives playing on the TVs, which was a nice touch. It's also located in a cute part of downtown Louisville that's worth exploring. The service matched the food. Everyone was welcoming, happy to answer our questions, and made sure we had everything we needed. This will definitely be on my list for a return visit the next time I'm in Louisville.
