Okay, I know GameStop can get a bad rap sometimes, but I'm here to say that the one I visit is consistently fantastic, and a huge part of that is the easy parking and the incredibly helpful associates, especially Maurice. The very first time I stepped into this GameStop, I had a mountain of trade-ins, and honestly, I was expecting to walk out with maybe $50. Maurice went above and beyond, working his magic to find every boost and trick possible to maximize my trade value. I ended up getting almost $130 worth of credit! He made the entire process incredibly smooth, and I ended up pre-ordering some games right then and there. Fast forward to today, I just got back from another visit, and once again, Maurice was a lifesaver. I had a few more trade-ins, and he helped me snag a DualSense Edge controller, a PS Portal carrying case, and The Last of Us Part 1 for PS5. Thanks to my existing trade-in credit and these new trade-ins, I walked out only paying $100 out of pocket for a brand new game, that $200+ controller with a 1-year protection plan, a carrying case, and a screen protector for the Portal. That's an insane deal! I'm not sure why others have such negative experiences with GameStop, but these interactions are exactly why I continue to defend them. While the corporation might have its issues, the local workers are clearly doing everything they can to genuinely help gamers like me. Came in wanted to check out Fallout 3 for PS3. We asked if they had the original case. Guy said "probably not". Asked him if he could check. And they did. Asked if we could check it out. He handed it over. I grabbed it so I could look to see if it had the manual and worker didn't let go. So I asked if he could open it so we could see inside. Still not wanting to let us hold it and check it out. So we left. Poor customer service and weirdness towards customers. I will happily spend my money elsewhere. I stopped by recently to ask about the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2, and I was lucky enough to get help from Charlie. From the moment I approached, he was super friendly, approachable, and incredibly knowledgeable. Even though the Switch 2 hasn't officially dropped yet, Charlie took the time to walk me through everything that's currently known--release expectations. He even gave me tips on how to secure one when it becomes available. I really appreciated how patient he was with all my questions (and I had a lot!). It's rare to find someone who genuinely enjoys helping customers and knows their stuff. Charlie went above and beyond, and it honestly made my day and I was able to score a Nintendo switch 2!! Main reason is due to customer service. -they never pick up the phone each time i've called different days no answer. -The employees just seem like they don't even want to assist you with an item or even a question they manage to belittle you and they sound like they're annoyed by you. -The selection is decent at best and prices can be a hit or miss. Overall if driving isn't an issue for you go to the gamestop in Irvine, it beats this sad location by miles! read more

Immediately as I walk in, I find it odd that neither of the two tall male employees even acknowledge. That's totally fine as I'm pretty introverted , but usually GameStop employees hover over you haha. I look around a bit, and the. I finally ask if they have some Pokemon cards. He rudely replies "no" without even looking at me and back turned. Mind you, I was told that they had 24 in stock of the bundle yesterday and was informed there were 42 here by a different store. While I try to call before I set off to drive, I get no response as no one picks up. Now that I'm here, I can see why. Neither of the guys are working nor are there any customers in store. Not even a "anything else I can help you with" or a "thank you" as I walk out. As someone who also has to display excellent customer service as part of my job, it's actually so gross how flippant and rude people are despite how polite you are. GameStop has been going downhill for years. Sorry to sound so entitled, but I don't come into the store demanding or anything. It's just a simple question of if they have x item in stock. He went above and beyond and was very pleasant to work with. Since I finally got a new Xbox Series X a few months ago my old Xbox was boxed up and collecting dust. Figured I'd trade it in while it's still worth something. He plugged it in and because it had been off for so long it needed a massive update. Instead of turning me away he connected it to their network and did the updates. Since it was massive file and their internet is slow he said I could go do other stuff and he'd call me when it's done. Once it was updated he tested the console and gave me a call. Waited for hours in line for the Pokémon 151 . They mentioned that they would only have 20 available and I was the 14-15th. I'm assuming the supervisor was the shorter guy with the beard who came out and spoke to everyone around 9am. Instead of him making it one per person rule like others stores have so 20 costumers could at least get the chance to purchase. He lets the first ten pick if they want to get 2 each! Talk about how unfair that is and then proceeds to say scalpers are ruining it for costumers when he literally just gave the first 10 people 2 each . They also never pick up their phone! The process took a lot longer than I expected but Josh was very kind enough to sit there patiently even after the store closed. I come in an item get store credit do a little shopping. I go check out and a customer ask him a question he rudely bluntly said "No" and didn't provide any follow up which I thought was rude. Don't buy PCs or laptops from GameStop. I recently bought an MSI laptop from GameStop . It had issues straight out of the box. I tried to return it in the first day I bought it, but GameStop's return policy is that you can't return since you opened the box even if it's defective. They direct you to contact MSI directly for them to fix it. I wrote a review about this on the GameStop app, and they deleted my review a couple days later. I'd rather leave this review on the GameStop app because it's more about GameStop corporate's ridiculous nonreturn policy, but again, my review was deleted. read more

This was my return visit from yesterday 12/11. I couldn't make my purchase due to tight on time and I was going to be picking up my kids, who the gift is meant for. So I mentioned I will be back today. Not the same group. 3 different guys all with their backs turned away from the sales floor. One gentleman, Alex, assisting one customer but the others were still working on the computer and labeling or something. No one acknowledged me as I am the only other person standing there waiting to be helped. But!!!! The shorter associate with the glasses acknowledges his buddies that walk in the store to joke around and shake hands. Bottom line, NO Customer service nor leadership whatsoever. I really wanted to buy the PS4 slim with at least 2 games before I walked out cause I am so tight on time, I couldn't waste it watching these guys. I have been going to Gamestop since my early teens, like most of us. I have also been a regular at this location. Now that I am much older I don't have much time for video games. But when I can, I game, and I also like coming into this location. But after this last visit it might be my last. I would've easily rated this store a 5/5 maybe a year ago but that has changed. The only things that I've really purchased from this store are Funko Pops (mostly just their Gamestop exclusives now). I used to get calls notifying me that my pre-orders came in and never had any issues picking it up. Nowadays, I have to call in to check if it has arrived. SEEMS A BIT BACKWARDS TO ME especially when they said they'd call to notify me. My next big complaint are the lines that form and the store's poor response to it. I don't expect the employees to work at light speed to clear out these lines because everyone's transaction is unique whether they're purchasing, looking up info on something or trying to get general support on an item they purchased. What I don't understand is why only 1 cashier is working when there's a capacity for 3 and I see one employee just carrying boxes in and out of their backroom while another is standing there micromanaging the cashier. There are 7 people waiting to get checked out and most of them seem to have a few items and would be out in seconds but somehow in their great wisdom, the employees choose not to open up the other registers. Last big complaint would be how aggressive of their employees tend to get just to get some pre-orders or sales in. No means no. If I just told you that I'm not interested in pre-ordering some upcoming Funko pops then I'm not interested. I'm not interested in ordering upcoming pops from the Marvel, DC, Harry Potter line or whatever is out there so just process my transaction as I initially requested and we can both call it a day there. I'm a bit sad to see this place take a bit of a decline because it's my go to spot in the area. I miss a few of the employees from when I first started shopping here. I needed to purchase a PS5 but, I would avoid coming here at all costs. I typically don't write reviews but the cashier Zach was very aggresive and weird. I came in to purchase a console and from the moment I walked in he was trying to rush me out of the store even though it was 6PM. Keep in mind the store closes at 9PM. I was in the store for 10 minutes and within that timespan he tried to get me out of the store 4 times. The harrassment got so bad that I had to tell him to stop with his aggression or there was going to be problems. Awesome gamestop location! I came here to get pokemon black, and when I couldn't find it on the floor, the sales associate found it in the back very fast. I was impressed. He also informed my man and I about the points that we have accumulated and that we should activate our account so that we can get some free stuff with those points. This Sheyanne or cheyanne don't even recall how her name was spelled. BUT she was so rude to the employees, screaming across the room to them while customer were present. I was even mad at the fact that she was speaking to her employees like that. She gave me and my boyfriend an attitude and was throwing games on the ground for the employees to pick up and put away.
